Ghe boots squeak while walking. A couple worker of mine has the same boots and she's had them replaced and still the same issues. We tried baby powder in the boot but it seems to be the insole and there isn't any reason with a $200 boot that this is an issue.

I researched for a long time before purchasing these boots. Everything I read on the 5.11 website stated that these boots were waterproof, fully gusseted and even had a rubber type membrane that would protect from bloodborne illnesses. I have had these boots less than one year and I do not use them for work I hike a lot and camp a lot. The seams have come undone within 6 months of ownership, they now let water in completely, so much for bloodborne illnesses. The tread has worn nearly completely smooth, and now seem somewhat slick on smooth surfaces. It's such a disappointment, I truly love these boots. I love the way they fit and the amount of grip and dexterity I feel I have when wearing them. If only the quality were a bit better but lasting less than 1 year is inexcusable.

Had the coyote colorway of this boot for a whole year. Boot performed as expected. Ending up tearing on the outside pinky toe area after ALOT of wear. Department ending up switching to mandatory black boots. Was thrilled to buy them again in black until I saw the toe box was not a polished black, but a suede black. They have a polished black version but with a zipper which I refuse to settle for. Absolutely hate zippers on boots as they break easily after alot of wear. Recommend launching a 2.0 version with polished toe box in this non zipper model.

I failed to check out the tam counterpart to the black boots. The toe is a felt-like material, with them being black that means the slightest bit of dust or scuffing is going to show. Had I have known I wouldve bought a different set. Since shipping is required for returns I opted to just keep them as backups.

I wear full gear for 10 hours a day at a minimum while working on coarse broken asphalt. nnThe boots are incredibly comfortable but the soles are not durable. I'm already having severe wear in the corners of the boots which cause my ankles to roll to that side and make matters worse. nnThere's a lip on the outer rear edge of the boot soles to help reduce impact, but I think it's increasing wear patterns on the boot soles. nnFor close to 200$ after tax, I would like to see thicker harder rubber compounds to the outer edge of the heels. nI don't want to keep spending 200$ every three weeks for new boots. But I am in pain and these are the most comfortable so far.

This is an excellent good buy boot. I dont like zipper boots so I knew it would be hard getting this boot on. But just remove top two laces and its manageable.

Comfortable but poorly made. Within 90 days of minimal use the threads were tearing in multiple places. Had these boots twice now with same issue.

I bought these boots for my birthday 4 months before I left for an 11 day hike, 125 miles along the AT. I wore these boots everywhere in those 4 months and they were not the worse for ware at all. And, after the 125 mile hike of rough rocks, long uphills, roots, puddles, and all sorts of abuse, I had a grand total of 0 blisters. These things are as hardy as a cockroach and comfortable as my own feet. Literally, I feel like these boots become my feet when I put them on. I see very little possibility of a re-purchase of these boots for myself, because these things will be lasting me a few years at least! Never had better boots.

Had bought 2 pairs of these 1 high top and 1 low top and both pairs came unstitch and the high top the material torn when I was kneeling down. Granted I put them to work in my field of work(hvac) but in 3-5months they do this. These wouldnt had last me when I was in the Army

Comfortability is a 10/10nDesign is a 10/10nDurability is a 2/10nOverall, durability is what matters in a boot. I wear these for work, and about 6 months or less the laces start to fray, and the inside heel/ sides tear open and cause blisters. I really like these, but how hard would it have been to throw some cheap leather back there to make these last years instead of months? 165. 00 is not cheap and Im really considering going in a different direction boot/ company wise due to this. Just for background information: Im a supervisor at a security company. Everything I own/ use for work is 5. 11. Ive easily spent a couple grand over the years, and I know these have been on the market for a long time, Please, spend the extra 2 cents to throw leather in the back. I really want to love these.

LOUD LOUD boot, if you know what high heels sounds like on a hard tile floor or hard soled cowboy boots sound on concrete or other hard ground, these boots are screaming IM HERE COMING FOR YOU RUN AWAY FROM THE COPAdditionally, they slip easy on many surfaces, despite the hard plastic like sole. Im going to be returning these boots for a softer soled boot. nAs for me, Im 5-10 / 170 pounds, fit, retired military.

I ordered a pair of boots and they arrived with a large air bubble in the plastic that is right above the big toe of the left boot. I returned the boots, got another pair and they had the same large air bubble in the left boot. Their quality assurance team is asleep at the wheel. My team and I will find other vendors for boots.

I work in corrections and have been wearing these boots for about 2 1/2 3 years. These have held up better than any other boot I have used. I generally walk anywhere from 5 to 10 miles a day and the leather has held up very well. The only thing I have needed was new insoles.

Perfect fit right out of the box. They did need a bit of breaking in but after a couple of days they were like butter. The look as described and after a couple of days hard work they clean up as if they were never put through the grinder.

I am female am generally were a size 6 in womens. In 511 mens I convert to a 5. These were spot on in size. No break in period in which your ankles, toes, or shins suffer while your boots conform. These are super comfortable, light, and in my opinion look great. Several of my officers have commented on how much they like to look. They are lace up and now days they is not a feature most folks like but it doesnt phase me. Great everyday wear, the range, hiking, or whatever your need maybe.

Awesome boot. Comfortable all day with good support in the right places. Non slip, ventilation is good for about 6 hours with Wool socks and constant movement. They arent very heavy but they are solidly built. Very good design and easily my favorite boots. They dont feel like boots when you wear them but they conquer most terrain especially when youre loaded down. Im getting another pair in black. The coyote color are really quite handsome. My first purchase through 5.11 and they made a good impression. Thanks for the product.

I loved this boot. Looks sharp! VERY COMFORTABLE! BUT if you use them for more than a look tacticool walker or a controlled environment runner. The tread will easily get cut and gouged, which leads to the grips ripping off, less traction, and more sliding. It happened in the first 90 days, so they did let me return them. But I've had the same problem with my other pair, so. . . Idk. When I see tactical boot, I think work horse! This is a dress boot.

I loved the boots very much, but after a few uses both boots were torn on the outer pinky toe sides. My first of boots tore from the seam and I returned them and got a new pair, but I ended up with the problem that both boots have ripped where my pinky toes are. I am very upset that this happened because I loved how they felt on my feet.

Ive had the coyote 8 A/T Non-Zips for less than a month, but break-in was minimal and theyre very comfortable. Theyre true to size for me (the same as my New Balance sneakers and other 5.11 boots I have). Ive run in them, climbed in them, shot in them, hiked in them, and worn them around the house. The footbed insert covers the drains on the inside, and I havent had them submerged yet, so well see if they drain as well as the USGI jungle boots do. Otherwise: Awesome boots so far.

I originally bought these for airsoft and hiking but they ended up becoming my new daily wearers because of how comfortable they are. The soles are just perfect and I love the high 8" ankle protection they offer. And the A/T system they made is absolutely spectacular. If it wasn't for the A/T slip resistant outsole I probably would've fallen a ton hiking. Thank you for these awesome boots 5.11 tactical.

To start, if you're just getting these boots to go on a hike once in a while, they'll work perfect. They're super comfortable and had almost no break in time whatsoever.nnI purchased these boots to go caving in about 6 months ago. I thought 511 tactical was a brand that would make gear that could last the abuse that caving necessarily entails. I was wrong. Within three months of caving once or twice a week, the tread was peeling off and could barely grip dirt walls when stemmming across underground canyons. In addition, I purchased this boot because it was not waterproof - When it gets wet its supposed to bleed water. This boot, however, fails in both its ability to repel water (Like a waterproof boot) and in bleeding water with every step (Its supposed to get dry quickly). Wearing these boots in wet caves for a week gave me trench foot (Lol - Genuinely funniest thing that's happened to me all year) because they just don't shed any water.nnThe tread in the instep and toe was super useful while it lasted and the upper of the boot itself didn't suffer any damage - Just the sole.nnIn the end, these boots lasted me 5 months or so in total.

Day 1:I went hiking in these boots for 4 miles. Breaking them in felt hardcore and I didnt think twice before this hike but I knew the pain would come along. The are 3 major factors I look for in a boot...comfort, durability, & lightness. I love the lightness of the boot, but after 1 day at work my achilles was tore up from a seam in the inner boot. For this price I expect boots to stand up to at least 1 year of railroading and not be murder on my feet. Sorry to say this boot does not live up to my high standards.

Went to the Short Pump VA store (Grand Opening) looking for a different boot. Saw this and thought Id try them on, and they are comfortable!! This is important to me because my feet are best described as, Beauty and the Beast. After years of being a grunt (11B - 2/75, 9th and 5th IDs). My left foot is fine, the right is not. Stress fractures, bunions and hammertoes make shoes very difficult to find. nnPut these on, wore them out the door. Went for a quick hike when I got home and they are truly one of the most comfortable pairs I have ever worn.

I just retired my second pair of these boots. They are absolutely my favorite style of boot I've ever worn and both sets of boots still give my feet great comfort...BUT... The soles of these boots are not quality at all. Within a few months of wearing each pair the rubber on the soles was degrading at a rate thag didn't pace with the rest of the boot. They have little to no tread after a year with the rest of the boot functioning perfectly. It just ruins the experience completely because I want to wear only these boots but they just don't hold up for what I do. If you improve these boots by fixing that issue, I'd have no problem claiming these are the best boots around. Also I wouldn't ever say these boots are super slip resistant even in the best of times.

These boots were perfect for my trek to Jordan and Israel. I was, very comfortably, walking on ancient Roman roads; passages created by humans over 4000 years ago; and up and down Israeli mountains. I bought the perfect boots and size. Next, Greek terrain and some in Turkey.

Purchased this boot in tan for SAR operations over a year ago and have had many real world deployments. The most recent being for Hurricane Ian on the West coast of Florida. The boot fit's true to size and have had zero durability issues. I have been able to be on my feet 8+ hours without my feet being sore. Love the stiffener and sole combo. Great product.

Boots do not fit, the right boot fits tight , the left boots fits ok. They are the extra wide pair however do not fit wide. A $170 purchase for nothing, I cant wear them & cant give them away. They are men boots but fit & look like women boots. Sadly dissatisfied given the brand name.

I had these boots for 2 months and I really liked them. They are comfortable and the waterproofing is pretty good. I just wish the sole of the boot was made out of better material. I already had to retire these boots due torn lugs and one being ripped completely out, exposing the foam.

I work in Security and 99% of the time I am standing post for long periods of time, and by long I mean 12-14.5 hour shifts in full duty gear. These boots will not fail expectation. I even took these boots on a hike up mission peak, and a long stroll through Disneyland. So. Take my words for this review. These boots. Buy them.

The ankle support is like a heavy boot but in the weight of a tennis shoe. The foot support system under the removal/ washable foam insole ( I air dry mine- no dryer) is phenomenal. It's a hard cupped heel that forces your own foot bottom to form your own cushion like running orthotic inserts, but the hard part extends the full length for puncture resistance as well. Have really used these boots in all weather and terrain and they are holding up fine, easily cleaned with a brush or lint roller ( bought black so that they double as relatively dressy " shoes " with boot support). Bought a SECOND pair so that if one is wet I can wear the other. Daily wear!

I have had these boots for about six months now and the sole/tread is flaking off by the day. Other than that its very comfortable. But this is a major issue for me. I wish we could post pictures on here just to share how the bottom is almost flat with no grip now. Disappointed in 5.11 on this end. We need long term traction. Not just comfort.

Boots are nice quality and all but when I ordered a size bigger an11.5 wide I figured they'd fit but I'm not crazy about how narrow they are coming from a converse combat boot that about 1/2"-1" wider in the meat of my foot making for a lot more comfortable walk since I'm on my feet for 14 hrs a day

Whether a nice style is your desire, or perhaps a stable foot platform with an abundance of support from foot to ankle, the 5.11 A/T8" boot is the best. I got a pair of the dark coyote non zip for everyday use, and I keep the black waterproof ones in the work truck. Both models are exceptional. The A.T.L.A.S. system is phenomenal, improves your stride, posture, and performance. The locking eyelets found at the base of the ankle is a gamechanger, allowing you to get an absolutely "locked in" feel whether you are walking, jogging, or sprinting. Grip is exceptional even in wet condiditons and the laces are solid, the pull strap on the tongue is a very useful and smart design. nNo matter the task, 5.11 brought the solution with these boots.

These boots run 1/2 size smaller than my previous brand. Great quality, love the lace lock feature, don't have to tie a knot in the laces on first loop to keep from slipping. Will buy again, very comfortable.

Would be 5 stars if they offered ankle support you would expect from 8 inch boots and if they weren't already falling apart/peeling in some areas after a month. They are peeling back wherever there are stitches which sucks for the price and only a month of wear. I will admit they aren't peeling too much but the build quality is definitely mid. Pretty comfy otherwise

I purchased these boots to evaluate for my son who is an officer in the Army. I Hike/Trail run 80mls a month, and found these boots very comfortable and the 2 piece lace system acceptable. The one issue so far for me is the cross tie eye (which is placed correctly at top of ankle) is not easy to loosen or tighten. This makes it hard for quick release or tightening for a quick response. This 2 piece tie system does stay tight throughout a 10-15ml Ruck. I have recommended the boot to my son for his guys. This was the 5th boot Ive tested and the best to date. Quick release system tend to get loose to soon, And zip ups are a joke with horrible rubbing burns. Love the 2 piece system but need to work on a better cross tie outlet! Awesom boot for the true hiker/solider

Was a little worried about ordering boots online - my feet have been problematic to fit in the past. Ordered 9 wide and gotta say these are some of the most comfortable boots/shoes I have worn in a long time! May need to order another pair soon for spare. First time trying 5.11 boots. These grip the ground well, the fit initially hugs the pinky toes but once these are broken-in theyll be a great. Theyre new but I use the hell outta them so as for quality and longitudinal use well have to see. I have high hopes though

The boot is quite comfortable and lighter than some of my others boots. They seem to be a quality product and built tough so we'll see over time. One thing I didn't like is the one lace eyelet in the middle that has the big rubber eyelet, due it pinching a bit. This eyelet also locks the lace, making loosening difficult. I bypassed the eyelet until the boots were broke in a bit then tried again and it seems ok now. Offer these in a waterproof version and i'd be set!

Excellent shoes. I spend all day on my feet doing physical work on uneven ground. The weight of the shoe is excellent, the tall non-zipped support keeps my ankles from rolling. My feet just are not as tired as they have been with other shoes. I'm a customer as long as you make this shoe.

Very flexible light and comfortable for a boot. I usually have to get molded insoles for all my shoes but the insoles in these were flawless. That was a big plus because the insoles I get usually are about $50. The only downside is 511s fit guide. Bio fit tact fit and pro fit? WTF. The description doesnt even tell you what fit this boot is so its pointless. 511 fix it! Good thing the product makes up for their poor description after I had to send a pair back. After the confusion I got my normal size.

After 1 full day of wearing the boots my left boot was hurting the top of my foot. After checking what the reason might be I noticed the stitching on the inside Im was done incorrectly and was causing that area to pop out. I have contacted 5.11 but have only received an email stating that they will see what they can do for me.

This is my third pair of 5.11 boots, and of the three they are my favorite. The few cons are they took a while to break in, the laces are a little on the short side, and it can take a little while to get them on and off. Besides those small cons they are great. They are very satisfying to slide in and out of, they give great foot support thanks to the ATLAS soles, they give great ancle support, and they are well built. There were also two surprises. The first is how aggressive and awesome these look. The pictures do not give it justice. These look mean and ready for action. The second is that they can feel more like shoes than boots. The soles roll in such a way that they feel more like a springy shoe and less like a bricky boot. This makes them very comfortable for running in and for walking around town in.

I absolutely love this boot, it requires almost no brake in time, and the lacing lock system allows me to wear the bottom of the boot to be snug while upper stays a bit looser, and after daily use in Iraq on a flight line for 6 months, the boots are still in great shape, I hope these boots will be available for a long time, Ill keep wearing them.

This by far has to be my most favorite boot from 5.11. The entire A/T lineup of footwear is the comfortable I have worn from 5.11. I usually wear a 10.5 but the size 10 wide fit me true to size. I have a wide foot so I do recommend to go a half size down if ordering them in wide size. These boots are so comfortable and lightweight. Great to wear for those long days without getting fatigue. I like these so much I had to get them in both offered colors. The Dark Coyote being my favorite and it seems to be the communities favorite color as well. Always the first color to sell out. So if you see them in stock get them while you can because they hardly in stock.

I work in the outdoors around Phoenix AZ. Suffice it to say I beat the hell out of these things. Can't beat them, comfortable as all get out. I sit between 10.5 and 11 depending on the brand. An 11 in these fits perfect. I can wear them all day with the laces undone as well. The ankle hugs enough that they don't slip off of my heel even worn as such. High fives.

I have been Salomon Forces boots for 2+ years. It was time to buy new ones. I wear boots everyday for work and even perfect to wear them when I'm not working. The best pair I had in the last 10 years were the Under Speed Freak (not the bozman). Very supportive and the right amount of cushioning. I'd still be wearing them if they were still made. These boots feel the same comfort and cushioning wise. I brought insoles with me to the store to put I them when trying on. The sales guy said our insoles are better and he was right. They feel amazing right out of the box. No break in time. Hoping they make a water proof version for winter.

Wow... these boots are COMFY! I've tried all types and brands of boots in search of finding that "perfect pair" of boots but always came up unsuccessful until now . Got a pair in Dark Coyote for hiking. Fit is great and ankle has good flexibility. Traction can't be beat, and the sole has enough rigidity to hold your weight from any corner of it. The suede/nylon mesh construction is supremely breathable. I immediately ordered another pair in black, and another in side-zip after wearing them.

I work in Corrections and use these daily for indoor and light outdoor use when I have to go out into the Community. I have owned these since June 2020 and recently as of November 2020, I have noticed a popping noise coming from the inside sole of my left boot. This popping noise occurs when the front sole of my boot bends after the sole makes contact with the ground. The noise is a little obnoxious that inmates and staff at my work think that I have a knee or foot issue from the constant popping noise. That is the best example I have to describe the noise my boot makes is it sounds like a joint in your body popping.They hold up well, they look good and the comfort is unmatched in my opinion. Like I mentioned before, other than this one compliant from a defect from inside the sole, I actually prefer these boots over my Under Armour Valsetz for comfort and durability. I am on my feet daily for work and these really make a difference.I have not experienced any odor issues. They breath very well, even after I have been on the floor all day.I am 29 y/o, I am about 225 lbs., 6 ft. 2 in., I usually fit into a size 12-12.5 size shoe/boot. I purchased a size bigger just in case in a size 13 and they fit perfectly.I would purchase these again, I hope that they figure out the popping issue in the future.

I have had all types of boots, more then 10 years of wearing them and years of abuse on my feet old injurys on knees, ankles and lower back and I have to say these boots are a godsend! Worth every penny. No hot spots to make blisters, the arch support is so helpful never give in like other boots and expensive insoles I have bought. The lugs make it easy to climb fences very good grip on ice, good grip on iced/snow areas -15 degree weather. I have taken them on 12 mile rucksack and my feel still felt good so good that I could still do the murph without foot ache or old injury pain hitting me. 5.11 you have done it again on a good product. Thank you for all the research, time and money you put on the this product.

I bought the side zip version for my job. I must say I am beyond impressed! These are far superior to the ATACS. Talk about all day comfort. I may have to buy the non-side zip for off-duty wear such as hiking.

I bought these for my son's birthday in mid-January. He has worn them most days as well as on a few good hikes. In the last week, we have noticed that he lugs are starting to tear off (not wear reducing size, but actually tearing off at the base of the lug) on the soles. Luckily, the soles aren't completely giving, but for only 1.5 - 2 months of use, this seems like excessive wear. We have noticed that the boot does not have a vibram outer sole, which typically lasts for just about ever. I doubt I would get these again, but will look towards the boots that have vibram outer soles.

I honestly thought these boots were gonna be like every other boot. But this is on a whole different level. I love how its stiff, its even stiffer than my motorcycle boots. My feet want to just want to walk on their own with these. These boots would have made me a rucking God in the Army. The shock absorption is just amazing. Lastly 5.11 made my dream boot but all black with no leather.

I got these as a gift a few days ago, amazing comfort like the mids except I think the locking ankle eyelets make it hard to get good heel securement, I feel having it be an open eyelet would allow far better lacing.

Wow - when you can take a pair of boots out of the box - wear them to work next day - no hot spots - already broken in - you got a boot made by folks who wear boots!!! True to size! The ATLAS boots are extremely comfortable and have a great grippy sole on them. They run true to size and width. I love the dark coyote color too. Highly recommend!
