This is the 5.11 A/T Mid. That’s mid-height, not mid-night, though it will find favor on that shift to be sure. Featuring 3D molded TPR toe and heel protection, a welded/mesh upper, and high performance, high traction outsole, the All Terrain Load Assistance System (A.T.L.A.S.) will mitigate the rigors of a heavy load bearing job (and in no small way, either). Boot is great had about 6 months but about the 1 month mark started to smell weird chemical/rubber smell from shoe that has gotten progressively worse. It seems to be coming from the outside of the shoe particularly the rubber used for the sole, but has permeated the entire shoes . I refuse to wear and am probably going to donate or throw away.

A very solid pair of mid-boots. They are very supportive both inside and out, with great arch and side support. The inside has something that holds your foot snugly in place. There is no break-in period either. Sizing is normal, and the soles should last long.

These boots I bought my husband for his birthday didn't even last a year. Major fabric issues on multiple parts of the shoe. These aren't cheap shoes and he wears these on and off when he isn't working. He wears difference shoes for work. I have shoes that have lasted years. I thought these were supposed to be super durable. I tried looking for warranty information ands I am not sure how to go about requesting a new shoe or store credit.

I ordered these to work in and they were exactly what I needed. Something that has good support, is comfortable, and not too heavy. I have another pair of these but decided to ordered a wide pair and they are even more comfortable. I would suggest that whatever size feet you have order a wide pair.

A great confortable boot. After 1 week of wear they started to sqeuak loudly. I've tried talcum powder but only seems to last a day before noise comes back. Would not be great in tactical enviroment. nSoles are also squeaky on tiled or hybrid floors.

I received the boot, which appears to be a previously worn returned item. Upon closer inspection, I discovered female hair inside and significant sole wear, indicating extensive prior use. Given my familiarity with this boot model from purchasing two pairs previously, I had anticipated receiving a brand new pair in pristine condition. However, that was not the case, and instead of initiating a return, I chose to retain the boots.

Bought this about two years ago and just started wearing them about three months ago. I thought they looked good and felt comfortable without having to break them in. Within this short time, they started squeeking which is annoying. I removed both inserts, as other reviews have indicated, to see where the noise was coming from. I walked in these shoes without the inserts and found the noise coming from the rubber soles of both shoes. The squeeking sound is loud. Definitely can't wear it on the job and embarrassing when off the clock. nnAs far as traction goes, don't wear this on wet, hard surfaces. They feel slippery and unstable. I've almost lost balance several times due to the slipperyness of the tread. On dry surfaces, it's OK. nnI was going to seriously look at upgrading to the waterproof version but not anymore due to my experience with this pair.

I have had my boots for just about a year. The exterior of the boot has held up well but interior heal has started wearing a hole in the fabric (in both boots). Additionally, the soles are very loud and squeak with every step on most surfaces.

(lacing) is iffy. If Using cmeva "orange" it might be too tight for some. With the same insert traction is vastly better. _____Using since it launched and replacing yeary due to various issues (rangemaster was over better = replaced with these) _____***pros*** great traction. Great for indoors and summer "dry days" only ____n***CONs*** black mesh is difficult to keep clean. Mesh attracts/retains dirt easily. OEM laces tear/snap/cut at upper metal grommet. Mesh tears at inner big toe due to stresses of CMEVA and environment. ***Squeaky, noisy*** when wet (water, sweat) while using cmeva inserts. The foam insoles squeak/rub against "orange" which rubs inner sneaker boots. Finally foam insert "arched" section are cut by "orange" cmeva design, normal use

Currently I have logged 150 miles with absolutely no show of any wear and tear. I use them on trail walks that consist mostly of dirt and uneven surfaces. Lugs clean themselves out in mud easily and traction is superb! Points to consider: not a lightweight boot but not overly heavy either. They run a little on the warm side but thats to be expected considering they are a Boot and they are sturdy. Excellent craftsmanship and looks great as well.

After only a couple months of wearing the tread started falling off, and the mesh has some holes, boots are comfortable and breathable but did not hold up well at all for the price.

I have been using these boots for over a year and like them, overall, they are decent boots for the price, although I paid a lot less than the current price. I've used them everywhere from the forests of the PNW to the deserts of the middle east with positive results. My biggest complaint is I had delamination of the toe protectors and with the exterior support structure. I used super glue to repair the issues but for the price I shouldn't have to deal with it in the first place. like the boots but there seems like corners were cut or maybe I just bought a bad set.

I bought the 5.11 A/T Mid Boot to wear for trips to Israel and Egypt. I am trying them now before I go on my trips, and they are wonderful. I checked out the 5.11 website for hiking boots, and these fit my need. I highly recommend them for comfort, durability and quality. Since I already bought the full size boot and mid size book, I knew I would be getting a well-made boot.

I have small feet and usually hurt my ankles a lot. These shoes protect my ankles well and provide excellent traction even on slippery or bumpy roads. It is good for tactical movement and everyday use, and the design is also very satisfactory.

13W is a hard size to find and 5.11 frequently doesn't have them, but these popped up and I jumped on them. Great boots. They fit well, are very comfortable, and provide some additional ankle support that is very helpful. The laces stay tight and the boots look good. Very happy with these!

Purchased these about a year ago. I do not often wear them as they are a bit clunky for flying. I can say until a month ago I maybe had them on about 30 times and they have let me down. The heals have collapsed and there is a tear on both shoes in the same location. I went to the local store and the employee at the location said that she had never seen a set do this and it is the most popular pair they sell. nnI can tell you that for a medium boot they did not hold up. I do not get out often other than for work and I can tell you that flying should not have failed like this.nnThe employee at the 5.11 on 35 in Fort Worth as not even remotely helpful. Maybe this may get some action but not holding my breath.

I've walked fewer than 30 miles in these now, with proper fit, lacing and socks. Their is no cushion for the back of the heel, it's a completely rigid section with just a thin fabric stretched over. Within 30 miles of use, the fabric on the inside of the heel section is already fraying and these boots simply are not comfortable / too much friction in heel. I'll try some inserts I guess. Seems many others love them though, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

This shoe is light weight and comfortable. It definitely runs narrow. I still went with a regular in width because I have a narrow to average foot but had to return them for a wide. Its the best looking boot/ tennis out there too! Excellent customer service!

First off , these are the most comfortable boots I've purchased in a long time. I bought them with a dual purpose in mind. I needed them for a mechanic job in the warehouse and I wanted to test them as a first time buyer of 5.11 boots in the desert of Arizona. As a hobby We mineral prospect in rugged terrain and hike often and far with heavy packs carrying hammers, chisels and minerals. Needless to say a comfortable Boot that grips and is capable of handling the weight is necessary. This Boot was it. It handles the weight stress well and grips the ground in confidence. It breaths great too. My feet never got to hot. It is Not waterproof, nor do I believe this Boot claims to be. I love this Boot for work and in the outs. It was definitely designed for movement , secure footing and carrying weight comfortably. This it all does with a five star rating. It is even comfortable as a everyday warehouse runner. With that said this Boot gets 3 stars due to it's durability. Maybe I'm old, but I am not ready to pay 150 dollars on a boot that only lasts 6 months. I guess that's the new normal. The rubber caps on toes started to separate within three months. The meshing started tearing at the five month period. I am not amused at the life span of this Boot considering all it's pluses in the field. I have 5.11 pants that are still bushwacking and terrorizing the forces of nature for two years plus . I want a boot that lasts at least a year for 150 dollars. This Boot stands behind all of it's boasts , except for durability.

I would like to rate the boots higher but unfortunately I cant at this time. Reason being the left boot rubs the outside of my ankle in a way causing pain and discomfort when I walk. Not sure if its the padding or lack of. nOn another note my right boot fits and feels great. nNot sure why there is an inconsistency.

I have own a series A/T boots, from trainer to 8 inch boots. I would say the mid boots is the best. Low profile with enough grip on mountain trial. Sometimes you don' t wanna hang out with army boots which catch public attension

Let me start by saying all 5.11 footwear runs narrow. They need to update their lasts. With that said, I purchased these in dark coyote 10.5 W and they fit so well. I run these in urban, suburban, and rural environments with zero issue. The sole is most comfortable & supportive. I noticed it on day 2 of wearing them while I was jumping that there is some rebound to them. I am now going to purchase these in black & double tap. I already purchased the trainer shoe version in white as well.

I am a late bloomer when it comes to writing reviews on products, but it isnt from procrastination. I want to really try it out, over a length of time, and give honest feedback on what I purchase. In this review, I'm discussing the A/T MID (Style # 12430), which debuted in February 2020 as the A.T.L.A.S., an acronym for All Terrain Load Assistance System. Today it's just the All Terrain midheight shoe. I bought two pairs as soon as they came out. One was a Black (019) and the other Dark Coyote (106). The black pair I wear with my 5.11 Patrol Duty agency uniform and the other pair with my in-office admin uniform, consisting of my 5.11 Stryke pants and either my 5.11 Performance polo or Stryke shirt. The Dark Coyote is my favorite pair for many reasons. I love the color, the style, and the look. It is also just a damn comfortable shoe! What I appreciate about the midheight is that my ankles arent covered or rubbing against the collar. The design keeps my ankle bone clear of any discomfort. They BREATHE and I am not left with sweaty feet. Their cushioned comfort is a godsend when I must move around a lot. The universal boot laces provided are the originals with their tips intact with little to no wear or lace slippage, and other than natural creasing, most of the shoe looks as strong as the day I got them! Nearly three years have passed, so now let's talk about their current condition. There is a little breakdown where the top of the shoe, or vamp, is creased. This material isnt ripped but worn out over time and only appeared in recent months. But the size of these imperfections is only about half an inch on both sides. This bending point received a lot of wear. So, I am very pleased it took this long to show any give. The most wear in my shoes after all this time is along the collar's top line, padding, and near the throat of the shoe. The insole has remained firm and comfortable and hasnt sunk or broken down due to cheap materials. The lining deep inside the shoe also held up amazingly well too. These shoes are so comfortable I even wear them for everyday use and exploring the world around me, from camping, hiking, off-road, and more. They also work well on slick surfaces. They slip on with little to no effort and lace up with ease
staying tied throughout the day. But the biggest question I had three years ago was, are they worth the price? I am a public servant and get paid once a month. I know the challenges of stretching out hard-earned money. Is this shoe worth the price it was then and is it worth nearly $20 more now? YES. Absolutely. I even went out this morning and purchased my third pair, replacing my first for office work. But dont think Im tossing out the old pair! Hell nah
these still have a lot more wear in them and I cant wait to get back on the trail with them soon. I hope this past-due review will help you in selecting your next pair of shoes. P.S. I dont speak, work for, nor am I paid by 5.11 or its subsidiaries. I just love the brand and the concept

I ordered a pair of these for a cool, light weight duty boot option. The boot fits as expected and are comfortable to wear for 12hrs plus. They are very breathable and flex well. nThe only issue I have had with these boots is with the tread quality. I received them on June 10th and have worn them for approximately 2 months while on shift. The tread on the left boot has begun falling apart and comes off in chunks. I only wear them on mild abrasive surfaces(Ex. Concrete, asphalt etc.) and have not had them on any rough trails. Due to this, I am disappointed it the quality of the tread and would have expected them to last a lot longer.

Sometimes I am in a big box store, industrial/manufacturing facility, property patrol or working out of my unit.nnI purchased my 1st set of Mids in September of 2021. nnNothing is Wrong with them. Still going Strong. I worked a 12 hour shift yesterday.nnWith Possible Supply Chain Issues and Current State of The World I felt it was a Wise Move to purchase and have on hand a 2nd Pair. This shoes I highly recommend. And especially if you have wide feet. I highly recommend the wide width. They are very comfortable. And worth the price. You might think $160 whatever is a lot but they are so good. I am thinking of buying an extra pair. That's how good they are. I am on my 3rd week of wearing them.

Best choice in a boot I have made in a long time. Primary reason I bought the boot was for the Bataan Memorial Death March. Ordered and received the boot 2 weeks before the event, no issues on the order or delivery. Tried them on perfect fit. Extremely comfortable. 26.2 mile ruck with 40lb ruck. Not one blister. Excellent boot!

I was reluctant to purchase these (Im new to 5.11 products), thinking they they would hurt my ankles like another well-known brand did that ended up in the closet. But I took a chance and glad I did. I was expecting some sort of break in period, but these are so comfortable I find myself wearing these almost everyday. Other than that, theyre lightweight and have great grip, and the sizing is comparable to Nike if that helps anyone.

Am 60+, have had over a dozen good rucking boots. These 5.11's are some of the best I've had. Good design and materials execution, very good tread and ankle support. Width (in wide) was perfect. Two minor challenges: the boot rubbed my left ankle in the wrong way--not a design flaw, but a consequence of ankle surgery. Easily solved by not lacing top eyelet. Second challenge is that the boot's are a little on the heavy side compared with, for example, Goruck's MACV-1 rucking boot. This is not too much of an issue for younger more robust people. Bottom line: 5.11 has made a very comfortable boot that should allow you to conquer all but the most technical trails.

I usually only buy super comfy Nike's. These were great. Not too heavy like some other mid boots. You can stand in them all day and be comfortable but they are built like a really high quality sneaker. I would definitely buy them again and will probably buy them in another color.

the way this company advertised this boot makes it seem it would be water proof until you step half your toes into a puddle in the grass and your whole entire toes are wet. I was very upset that I fell for the damn wording of the company. For the price EVERYONE would assume its waterproof. Its the nicest boot I've ever liked in looks, just upset they don't offer it in water proof! I was going to send them back, I called and talked to them and I ended up not returning it because they look nice. I guess for summer its an amazing boot!

I have had issues with the right fitting pair of footware in the past. These boots are very comfortable. The fit is snug, holds might feet securly with no movement within when active. The boots are so comfortable, there wasn't even a break-in period. The non-slip works exceptionally well except on slats/metal grates, which is to be expected really, but the boots are tough and are fairly resilient to grime and dirt. Solid choice, would buy again... assuming these ever give out, which I don't expect they will.

Ordered a 9.5 in wide, but it fit extremely tight. Had to return immediately. If youre looking for a wide model in tan, dont choose these. 5.11s black patrol boots do no have the same issue.

The A/T Mid Boot is an outstanding product. The fit of the wide boot is great and comfortable for long wearing. The only issue with the boot is that the laces provided are too short and they were replaced with 72" 5.11 laces (discontinued). The replacement laces are the right length and they are easier to lace due to their round design. Recommend that the laces be changed to the 5.11 laces as in production.

These were perfectly comfortable right out of the box. Zero break in period. They also have a nice amount of toe protection. Fit was great. I have a wider than average foot and I wear a 9EE in danner acadia, 10 in athletic sneakers, the 9.5 in the 511 fit just right. My first time wearing the 511s was during a 16 hour day and they felt awesome all day long.

I work in a warehouse and ride a pallet jack most of the day, admittedly I'm very rough on my footwear. I step on and break pallets regularly, I almost run over my feet and sometimes even drop pallets on my toes. I do all this with confidence in my 5.11 A/T mid boots. They are light enough , yet still rugged and reinforced where needed. They allow air into your foot, keeping them cool and they're comfortable. It did take about 4 or 5 days of 10 hour shifts to break them in. And I had wore crocs for 4 or 5 years prior so my feet weren't used to arch support. But after that I couldn't have picked a better shoe for work! Great product!

True to fit and light weight. Very well built and can take just about any abuse you throw its way. Great ankle and arch support. The tread on these boots are awesome and can handle every type of terrain you encounter. Overall Im very pleased with my purchase and like I always say, you only get one set of feet in your lifetime so treat them as such and invest in the best protection for them as you can. The better you take care of your feet the better they will take care of you and these boots right here are the winning ticket. 5.11 never disappoints me.

This mid boot fits and feels more like an athletic/ tennis shoe but provides the look and performance of a tactical boot. Very comfortable, I can be on my feet 8hrs with little to no pain and they have been great for running and lifting weights as well. I highly recommend these boots.

The boot fits well and comfortable. However, I was surprised to see some tear holes on fabric at a very early stage. Bought in June 2021 and used only 2-3 times a week in an office environment. The tear just came out in which I believe to be caused by inferior materials. I havent gotten any response from 5.11 after sending them 2 emails about this issue.

I like them and I like the way they look.I went with the wide size and I am sooo glad I did.They fit great.Very comfortable.My only issue is that I didn't notice that they are mostly a breathable material and any light drizzle or splash and your feet are soaked.Some people wouldn't mind that one detail,but I am diabetic and keeping my feet dry is really important.The only other thing I can think of is that they don't feel heavy duty or as sturdy as say a pair of Salomon boots or shoes.

These shoes replaced a different set of 5.11 "boots". I put them in quotation marks because they feel and look like shoes rather than boots. They fit true to size and they don't have that annoying squeaking when walking on laminate type floors. Definitely something worth the money

I'm usually a 10 or 10.5 depending on the brand of boot or shoe. Went with the 10 and it fits absolutely perfectly. Great weight and flexibility while still having semi-aggressive sole. Planning on buying another pair to have once these wear out.

But these are really good for my work. I am a bike cop and was looking for something that would work fir me there. They are so comfortable to walk in they are like pillows on my feet. But give me great support. nnThey havent fully broken in yet, so around the tops they are still a little stiff and rub. But like I said. They are supper comfortable otherwise

I'm specifically reviewing the wide mid boot. I've got a wide foot, probably at least an E. I'm also about 280lbs and usually ruck with a 25-45lb pack. These are some of the best boots I've ever owned. They were comfortable when I put them on in the store, and they're even more comfortable after breaking them in. I don't feel these boots are on, even after a few miles of walking. It doesn't matter if it's a light pack or heavy, these boots help me the whole way. The grip is great and I've never heard them make a noise. I have nothing bad to say about them.

Fit great going on. A little stiff but I don't mind a break-in period. After one month break-in some conclusions: Hiked 3 miles on rocky terrain (desert southwest) and my feet were aching. Forget stealth, they squeak while walking on hard surfaces. But they are good for a day at the range, so I will keep them.

I ordered two pairs of the mids to make sure I had the right size. Half-size above my usual size fits best for me, using quality wool-blend midweight socks. LONG break-in period, longer than I remember anyway... For running trails these are great. For walking they almost seem too robust with the removable atlas plate in. As 5.11 says, they are designed for carrying weight, which is my purpose -- once I get them broken in.

The boots fit amazing and are extremely comfortable. I have not had to use custom insoles. Sole/tread holding up well. Two cons so far- a lace loop, which is approximately half way up the boot, became detached. On both boots, the thin material overlaying the fabric has detached in several locations. Again, fit wise, these boots are great, however, two separate breakdowns in materials in two months is not promising for durability.

These boots wear more like a sneaker. They are comfortable on a stationary post out on patrol. The collar has a "notch" where the ankle bone is making them comfortable in a patrol car for long stretches of time.

I absolutely fell in love with this boot the moment I put it on! I have a hard time with shoes because I'm a 12 WIDE with crazy arches, and I go through "other" shoes and boots like yesterday's newspaper. They felt like a glove when I first started wearing them,breaking in nicely with no issue's as far as wearing them. Only issue's worth noting was the extremely short laces they came with. Without hesitation Lisa Castro from customer service, with everything going on made sure I was taken care of with new,one size up laces that worked perfectly! She noted the incorrect length for future production updates and even sent me a code for a future discount on my next purchase! The four star's are because it was hard to find my size because the website vs what was in store was NOT on the same page. Also giving veteran's discounts at all stores and not the one. This boot to me feels like a bad ass sneaker,I love it! Recommend it to any one with high arches or wide feet"if you can find it". Thanks again for a solid mid boot!#semperfidelis

Out of the box assessment- I've had no adaptation pain at all after several shifts of wear. I wear a size 13 in everything, size wise they are spot on. The feel of the boot, to me, is of a cushioned weight-lifting shoe. The higher heel naturally places my balance mid-foot for excellent weight distribution while standing. They are lightweight and breathable. I have custom orthotics, which if I need to use won't be the boots fault (flat feet), removing the double insole inside will allow them plenty of room. Remaining issue is how well the boots hold up. I will update accordingly.

I've tried so many different Boots on spent more money then I should have all in search of a boot that is comfortable to wear 24 hours a day if needed. I visited store after store in my travels to try on a pair of these ATLAS boots in 8.5 wide I finally just ordered a pair of the mid in coyote the fit was perfect the feel was comfortable and light with more support then I expected. After a year of suffering through Plantar fasciitis I found the support and relief that I had been looking for. I will be ordering a second pair in Black very soon.

I ordered and recieved the A.T.L.A.S. Mid boots within 3-5 days. Out of the box, great quality, sturdy, and the most comfortable boots out of the box I have ever put on. My background to qualify my statement...I am 50 y/o, 200 lbs and where a size 9.5/ R. I am also a Retired Marine of 25 years as a Grunt with 6 deployments and a Combat Instructor.I am now a barber. I put these boots on out of the box and wore them for 9 hours cutting hair. My feet, legs, hips and back didn't tighten up or get as sore as I normally do. They look good for every day wear and with casual wear with jeans and a button down collared shirt. I highly recommend these boots to anyone who demands a high quality mid boot for comfort, style, and functional use.

These boots are fantastic for anyone's needs, even though they're more tailored for more strenuous use. Excellent blend of comfort and functionality for most "on the move" jobs and activities. Not to mention, it is absolutely tacticool. To talk more about the comfort, it felt like I was slipping on a pair of gym shoes or running shoes. Fit is just about true to size; if you have some doubt, buy a half-size up so that if you are on your feet for an extended period of time, you can have the extra room which is crucial for comfort.

5.11 might have a winner here. So far the boots are holding up well. Very comfortable. I describe them as little pillows for your feet. The mid, dark coyote are your best bet. The black or taller boot are not pleasing to the eye, IMO.

Ive literally owned these boots for 7 hrs but I am confident these are my #1 boot now. I would have ordered these weeks ago had I not been out of town for work ( they only ship to billing address ) but I knew Id be in Cincinnati and hit up the physical store. I love that you basically have two boots in one, white the removable shank/plate you literally have control over support. My plan for these boots was to give my Apex 8 in boots a break once in a while buuut I think these are the go to boot now. Amazing support and you can actually feel the return in each step.

I am a retired Federal Agent and have many years of using all sorts of footwear for overt and covert operations. But none of them compare to the new line of 5.11 ATLAS boots. With its torsion control plate in the boot and foam heel these truly bear the load while also providing the energy return needed in a load bearing situation. Even today I still carry a load for work and these boots are simply outstanding and I will go back to 5.11 in Springfield VA to buy the other color ways and the 8 in version as well. Well Done Again 5.11!!

These were a last minute purchase while on a trip (forgot to bring my boots), I went to the Tucson 5.11 store with the intention of buying a pair of much cheaper boots, and the guys working highly recommended trying the ATLAS boots before making a decision. I figured they were just trying to "upsale" me, but gave them a try versus the boots I was originally planning to buy. All I can say is wow, night and day difference, and well worth the extra $50 spent. Time will tell on durability, but comfort is out of this world, and I have really bad arthritis in my left foot. I plan to purchase a black 8" pair for work, and use my coyote mids for training/range/hiking. Thanks to the guys at the 5.11 Tucson store!

First impression out of the box is these things are solid. I cannot see how they can possibly delaminate or come apart. I feel like they can handle anything. Fit might be a tad on the small side. I tend to order a size up with 5.11 Boots. I normally wear a 10, and then 10.5's fit perfect. Insole and footpad are extremely comfortable. I weigh 225 lbs and these provide very comfortable and supportive support. Think Temperpedic in an insole. The only reason I gave these a 4 (and it really is a 4.5), is that the shoelaces are too short. After snugging up, I have just enough to tie a single loop. Not a double loop or to double tie. This is obviously not a deal breaker since I can find a longer pair of laces through another vendor but 5.11, please add about 8 inches to the shoe lace length. Great job!

Super comfortable, love the look. My new fav everyday tactical shoe. Of course you want rugged reliability but it sure is nice getting that and also every time you look down at your shoes knowing they look slick. The styling is very functional but they just look great too.
