Great quality and fit. I have several of the long sleeve polo's and they are my go to for comfort and durability. 511 is one of very few places that seem to understand that quality never goes out of style! Trendy doesn't do it for me - but quality does. It's a long trip to one of the stores but knowing that they stand behind their products makes it easier to shop online.

Design is standard. Could use a radio mic loop on the chest. The fabric is high quality and the size was true. Overall happy with the polo, just wish it had a radio loop.

I bought several of the 5.11 short sleeve Professional Polo shirts for work. They look and wear great. I sent them out for embroidery and unlike other shirts the material held up well without any pulls or stretching. I like the pen sleeve integrated into the arms.

Great fitting and professional looking shirt! True to size as well. I have a 48" chest, which is right at the upper threshold of an XL (and is the size I purchased), and it fits just fine. I like the pen holder on the arm, but I'm glad this shirt isn't fitted with all of the extra microphone holders that some other tactical shirts have. Simple is better in this case. I do have some poly polo shirts, but like the fact that this one is 100% cotton. Highly recommend!

I have had this shirt for three weeks and the plastic no roll collar insert has ripped through the collar already. Great product but 3 week lifespan.

I have worn these Polos for daily wear for about five years. The most recent purchases show a distinct drop in quality and fit, and the most recent Professional Polo I purchased is now unwearable, due to collar tattering along the edge, and severe fading, whereas other polos, some almost 4 years old are still fine. Once a fine product, cheapened and no longer worthty of purchase.

I've wore 2 of this shirts more than 1.5 years almost constantly (as a work clothing and in trips).The fabric is still as new, but I've got traces of sweat (under the armpits and on the chest mostly) which i failed to remove by washing etc.This is the only sad thing.All other is great.

These shirts are great. I like the length and the comfort they provide me, though they can become a little hot if I wear these out in the heat. Thankfully that's where the peformance polos come in handy.My biggest gripe about these shirts, is that they quickly develop holes on either side of the seam on the underside of the sleeves, near the hem(not the armpit). These seem to be caused by loose threads, and they detract from the professional appearance.I am currently in the process of thinking about ordering a whole new set of these shirts, because nearly every single one I own has developed these holes, and quickly.

I started buying 5.11 Tactical when I worked for Hotel security in Hawaii. Now, I wear them to work and school.I love that these shirts hold up to so much use and so many washings. The ones I bought five years ago finally started to fray and I recently bought a new batch. I'm looking forward to these things lasting another five years.I wish there was an incentive to buy in bulk. If so, I'd probably be motivated to buy an extra shirt or two.

Great feeling, great fitting Polo shirt, washes well with little or no fading. The no roll collars are THE best thing about this shirt, I have had other higher priced polo's and the collars would turn up and roll after but a few washed. It just looks like a shirt you would pay double the price for, it's not too heavy for the Las Vegas heat and not too light for the cold weather also. Overall I would highly recommend these shirts for anyone never mind law enforcement.

I wear this shirt to work. The pen pocket is a plus as I use my ear most of the time to hold my pen. The stichwork is quality. I own about 5 of the shirts and they are consistent in fit and detail. The shirts also hold up to multiple washing and retain their color and resiliency. This shirt is on my A list.

I need atleast a 4xl or 5xl in the academy blue, is it possible to have it custom made? I always had the dark navy but I have been promoted to Captain, and that is the Captain's colors. The 3xl is going to be too small

It's a work shirt. Nothing special... could probably keep you warm because it's thick. Sleeves are a little long. Other than that, great.

The previous versions of this shirt held up very poorly, these are holding up very well, up to 40+ wash/dry cycles and they look the same as when I bought them, I would say that is a very good start!The only thing its missing is mic clip, I like it much better than the Tactical Polo.

I bought similar shirts approximately 1 year ago and the quality of the shirt as significantly declined. Placing my older shirts against the newer shirts it's obvious the sleeves are shorter, length of shirt is different and the arm penholders are shorter. What a huge disappointment. Whoever approved the changes ought to be fired!!

Like all 5.11 clothing, it runs just a bit large, so if you're not wearing body armor, consider a size smaller than what you normally wear. Like all the 5.11 stuff I have, it's superior quality and super functional. The sleeve pocket is a cool idea, but kind of awkward getting to it.

However, If You Want Shirts That Don't Fade, Shrink Or Loose There Quality After 1 Wash Then You Need 5.11! It's Wonderful To Have Finally Found Shirts That After 20, 30, 40+ Washes Feel & Fit Like The Day You Got Them. I Don't Really Care For Buying My Cloths Anywhere Else Anymore. These are my standard wear for work and travel. Very durable, other people in my work branch are wearing them daily too. The collar and button placket area are key contributors to the professional look-I'm never wearing a shirt with a collar edge curling up or frayed to white after just a few washes. These last for years (I have some) especially if washed inside out. One downside-food oil (olive oil on salads or spaghetti) seem to easily permanently stain these shirts so I'm careful on lunch choices or handling. I really like this shirt, and have to make sure I rotate my wardrobe so I'm not in one every workday.

BE WARNED! If every other polo shirt you own is a LARGE order a MEDIUM! I found it way, way, WAY too big. I understand that 5.11 tries to cut everything to fit comfortable, but if you order your normal size, you'll end up looking like a 10 year old wearing his dad's shirt. Aside from the size issue, the side pocket for pens and penlights is absolutely brilliant! It's a good location and practical. The No-Roll collar is the answer to my number one problem with most of my polo shirts.

This is the best made polo I own. The details of the construction are amazing. 5.11 your quality of workmanship is not lost on me. The trim on the sleeves is a different weave than the collar (not true on other polos I own). The built-in collar stays are a nice touch. This is a polo with many features intended to make the wearer the best looking person at the event. You'll show up the department store polos. I rarely use the pen pockets but it's nice to know they are available.

It just feels lighter weight than shirts I bought two years ago. Also, the collar tag is sewn in and not embroidered in for this shirt versus others. The lack of weight may be due to the color. This one is tan and the others from two years ago are red, white and blue.

Previous iterations of this shirt embraced a heavier fabric garment weight; I purchased approximately ten shirts (long and short sleeve) of the heavier shirts. These appear to wear better than the currently supplied version.Quality has lessened with change to lighter weight.

I wear these sorts of shirts 40-50h/week. I have more than 5 of them and after countless washings they hold up great. No shrinking and do pretty well with fading even after washing and drying in warm water and heat. They run true to size. The pen pockets are handy, but only if you're putting thin plastic pens. Any larger pens or with a rubberized grip will give you some grief trying to get them in. The shirts can also be a little heavy in hot weather, especially if you are wearing a shirt under it.

I have 3 of these shirts. 2 in heather gray and 1 in navy blue. The 2 in gray are great but after 2 months and 6-10 washes the navy blue shirt is now purple in most areas.

Best polo for work I've found, hands down. Rugged and will last and last. Own many different colors. Over 15 in closet. Black comes a tad faded and fades even faster. I have eight that are functional, but needs re-dying.Recommend, even black but be aware.

I have yet to receive my polo shirt. The first one I received did not have any of the embroidery that I had requested. That was over a month ago and I have yet to even hear back with a shipping date of my new corrected shirt.At this time I can not recommend 5.11 products to anyone. The gear can't help if it doesn't get out to those who need it.

I bought one of these Polos for duty. I am a Paramedic working on an ambulance and sometimes on field deployments. I haven't ever worn another one since I got my 5.11 Polo. It is the best shirt of all I have owned! It keeps the shape, fits absolutely true even after 3 years in service and looks still great. Pen slots and mike clips are also a great feature.I bought some more for off-duty activities and will continue wearing 5.11 stuff both on and off duty.

I first purchased this product to see if the y were as good as they seemed on the videos. As soon as I got them I have really enjoyed these shirts. I actually been trying to get my co-workers to get them for their company shirts. The fact that the colar don't roll up and the wringle resistance just makes it an ideal shirt for anyone that has to wear colared shirt all the time. 5.11 may want to start looking at or looking into selling these types of shirts to Utilitie workers, Electric, Water and Gas. The only Con I have for this is the custom shop, they only had pre-set emblems, I understand that most of these are purchased from Fire, EMS, and Police. Just having another type of option where you could just use the lettering and no emblem would be nice or something along those lines.Again thanks for a great item.

Probably one of the best Polo shirts I have purchased, time and time again I bought polo's that ended up fading and looking really tired and worn after a few years with collars looking like fried strips of bacon. No more not with these, the collars have stayed flat and true, no shrinking or fading (except for one Silver Tan polo which seemed to get a little spot on the front that faded, it almost looked like the cotton had started to fray resulting in a different shade of tan, I have contacted 5.11 and await their response) My only complaint is the pen pockets on the sleeves, they are a little thin and if you have a pen with any kind of rubber on it you'll be trying for hours to get your pen in and out of the pockets.Apart from that you can't go wrong with these polo's.

I started wearing these shirts 5 years ago for work. 5 short sleeve and 5 long sleeve, each a different color. I just purchased another 5 short sleeve shirts to replace the first set that started producing holes on the bottom side of the sleeves. It would be nice if all my clothes lasted this long.

Awesome Shirt! After reading all the positive reviews on this shirt I had to see for myself. First of all I where mostly black long and short sleeve shirts because you can where them in almost any event whether it be for work, play, casual or more formal event. In the past I have worn Polo and LaCoste black shirts but the Polo shirt doesn't fit me across the chest and shoulders which causes it to bind, causes uncomfort and thus doesn't look good either. The LaCoste shirt fits better across shoulders and is a generally more comfortable shirt, however they are expensive, they shrink, and fade quickly. Plus if you where either of these shirts for work someone thinks you're getting paid to much! This shirt however fits great and therefore is very comfortable, doesn't fade or shrink, is true to size plus is a little longer if you tuck your shirt in at work. The price is right! I can get two shirts for what I was paying for one LaCoste and these last twice as long. The pen pockets on the sleeve is also a great feature, right there when you need it. I will be purchasing more of these shirts. My only request is that they come in a lighter weight pique style shirt, while shirt has served me well in hot, humid south Florida I feel there is a need for the lighter weight in tropical and sub tropical regions.

This is just a great shirt. Wash mine about twice a week for a year before it started to show any wear. Wear them daily for field work. You can always make something better, but this shirt is always there, day after day!

I've used these shirts for quite a few years and I do like them however you must be VERY CAREFUL that you do not spill anything on them. They stain extremely easily and are next to impossible to clean. I've had to wash these shirts in some cases 5 or 6 times to get a stain out if it will come out

I bought this shirt to wear while attending classroom trainings and meetings at the office. This shirt exceeded my standers. I customized this idem by uploading my departments shoulder patch into 5.11s database. 5.11 did an OUTSTANDING job duplicated this patch. I was so impressed with 5.11s ability to make my product look so professional. I have since found that the durability of this product makes it so it can be worn in active physical training as well. This shirt will stand up to anything you can throw at it. My co-workers have since seen me wearing this shirt and now wants one of their own. If you are looking for a new shirt buy this one it is a GREAT buy. I would also recommend customizing it too, 5.11 can do miracles making your shirt look like one of a kind. I have been in law enforcement for about 4 years and Ive never had or heard of anyone having a bad experience with 5.11, which must mean this company wants to have a great relationship with their customers. There is not much more I can say other than outstanding! The Professional Polos provide superior performance and withstand the wear and tear that I put on them everyday training the U.S. Army in tactical operations. Very comfortable, fit great, look better than the "frumpy" polos available in the private sector. While my blue and red shirts haven't faded, my black polo has faded considerably. Collar stays also become less rigid over time, but collar remains neat and professional looking. These polos knocked my Duluth Trading Co. "No-Polos" off the throne as my favorite work shirt.

The 5.11 Professional Polo is just a very good, solid, shirt. We have our department emblem embroidered on them and use them extensively for training, "non-uniform" and various utility assignments. They are a quality item that looks, wears and serves well.

I was issued these for an overseas contract. I still wear the shirts I received over two years ago. The best thing about them is the collar. The university I teach for issued me new polos and within a month the collars were all screwed up. The 5.11 polos have lasted over 2 years of washing and they still looked great. I am purchasing 5 more and embroidering them so I can wear them to work.

It is what it is. A professional, good looking, good hanging Polo.Note that this one does not have mic loops. It does have collar stays (that are so subtle that I missed them when I first saw it. Nicely done) The pen pockets on the sleeve are very subtle. (They expand underneath the sleeve, so it looks trim, indeed almost invisible, otherwise.)

We have been using polo type shirts for about 14 years. We tried almost every type of polo from cheap to very expensive but none of them would last. They all faded fast, developed holes and the collars always rolled. One of my full time guys came back from Irag after serving in a security role at the US embassy. He showed me a 5.11 polo that he had been wearing under his turnout gear for over a year and it was still in good shape. We switched to the professional polo and the life of our shirts have tripled over what they were before. Even when we replace them the collar is still in shape. I dont think we will ever leave 5.11.

I first bought this polo simply because of the pen pockets on the sleeve. What I got was the best polo I have ever owned. This polo is not only functional, but comfortable and stylish too. I have every color of this polo available and I can truthfully say that the color never fades from any of the shirts. Also, the no roll color is an excellent feature for those of us that hate rolled collars. The only addition that I wish it had was a mic loop on the shoulder, other than that the shirt is flawless.

I purchased this polo for field and ship work with the Marine Corps and now I wish I owned more. It fits comfortably and doesn't fade or shrink/strech in the wash.The only recommendation I have is they should add the mic loop placed at the bottom of the placket at the sternum level like on the Tactical Polo. Since it makes for a great badge clip

The sleeves are too long, well past the bicep. I am 6'2" so my arms are not short. This shirt runs a little big also. Other than that it looks like good quality.

I now have four of these shirts. The first two I bought over a year ago and although they have been washed at least weekly, they look as good as new, with zero fading (even though they are black). All these shirts iron easily, always look smart, and take a beating. I am nearly always carrying a backpack loaded with camera gear - lots of on and off, lots of friction. The shirt takes it all in stride.Always cool to wear even in hot conditions, this shirt, despite being cotton, does not become soaked with sweat - it just does a great job of keeping me cool and functioning.

As with other reviews I have written, I must make clear that I am not in law enforcement. I am a documentary producer and photographer, and, as such, need apparel that is just as strong, reliable, and dependable, as law enforcement and military personnel. One thing about shirts is that I always have camera straps draped over the shoulders and, with most shirts, those straps can really mess things up on the shirt, and be extremely uncomfortable.But based on my experience with other 5.11 equipment, all of which has become a real asset to my job, I decided to try out the professional polo.This is THE most comfortable, smart, and durable polo shirt I have ever owned. It remains cool even in black), has subtle but distinctive design elements (collar, pen pocket), and sits well on my shoulders whether I am wearing a heavy pack (Rush 24), or a variety of camera straps.It washes up very well, coming out almost with no ironing required, and it shakes out from a suitcase after several hours in transit.There is no binding on the arms, when you are stretching around, and despite 100 degree heat, the shirt never clung to me - it always felt cool and comfortable.No doubt, I will be buying more of these soon!

All of our instuctors and detectives wear these shirts as standard issue for the last 3 years and they are comfortable and hold up for years. There are cheaper versions but beware they are not even close.

I have been in Law Enforcement for 30 years. I have worn many products in that time. I love these shirts. They are comfortable, lightweight, cool and don't fade. The collar stays are a great feature. I believe they are in a class by themselves.

We have been using other Polo shirts in my unit for over 10 years. They fade fast and generally don't hold up well. I tried several of the 5.11 polos, and have had them for going on 2 years. No noticible fading and they still hold their shape. No collar curl either. I love em!

This polo is TOUGH! Fit can be a little baggy, if you are thin, but fits well with body armor. Nice touches with the pen pockets, too.

We wear these at work and they are very comfortable and durable. They look more professional than the BDU uniform type top that we used to wear. They are way better looking for sure. The pen pockets are a fine addition as long as you remember to take out your pens before you was them. I am glad they did away with the mic clips on the polo. They worked but tended to pull the shirt out of shape.

Excellent shirts. I own 5 Professional Polos and 1 Tactical Polo. The collars are second to none the way they stay down all day. These shirts are extremely comfortable, look good tucked in or left out and the pen pockets are very useful. I have basically stopped wearing my t-shirts and find myself wearing my 5.11 Polo shirts almost every day.

The embroidery done on my shirt was excellent. 5.11 took my design and made a great looking design on my shirt. The only problem is that it cam out way too big. It is difficult to tell how big the logo will turn out from the picture from the order site. Especially, when you are serving overseas. Overall, my design needs to be 2/3 the size. This purchase was a test purchase before other members of my organization placed their orders.

I found this shirt to hold up rather well physically. I've been using it for quite a awhile now, but the color fades quite noticeably after a few months. Extremely durable otherwise. I would say the price is a tad bit steep, but other than that it is a great shirt.

The 5.11 Polo is one of the best shirts that I have ever purchased. Recently my agency adopted the grey polo as an optional wear item for our K-9 and ATV units due to the exceptional quality and value of the 5.11 brand. These shirts maintain their color thru repeated washings, and the collars do not roll or lose their shape. I have several shirts in different colors and continue to buy more. I highly reccommend them for both on and off duty use!

I have seven 5.11 short sleeve Polos (counting the Tactical series) in my closet and I wear them by choice, not regulation. I routinely buy them, both with and without logos. They give a very professional appearance, even coming out of packed luggage. The no roll collar, no snags, and fit beat out almost all other polos. The decent weight fabric makes it studier, drape better and resist bunching/wrinkling. The shirt is very fade resistant in daily use; mine use is office or travel, some outdoor/active use. The pen pockets are great; people who see the pockets ask where to get a shirt (my community is aviators with flight suits). Minor spills on two earlier shirts became obvious and permanent - one shirt became a very good shop shirt. No problems since then, stain resistance has been very good. I wash the shirts inside out, warm or cold wash/cold rinse, smallest amount of detergent, and dry on light/delicate temperatures (I never use the cotton settings for anything but cotton underwear). I never put a stained garment in the hamper without at least some stain treatment. With this regime, my clothes seemed to look better and last longer.

I have at least one of these shirts in every color and wear them on duty and off. They are solid, well-made shirts and I love the way the collar keeps its shape. The pen pocket on the sleeve is great because carrying a pen in class B uniform has always been a pain. I can carry a pen and a handcuff key in the pockets and they are secure and handy. My black and navy shirts have faded a little after a year but they are overall an absolutely fantastic shirt.

They are comfortable and are sized perfectly for concealing my service pistol. They are a great buy at the price considering comparable quality shirts made by other companies.

These shirts are great for daily wear. They're comfortable and durable. They wrinkle free, fade free claim is a bit of a stretch. All shirts wrinkle and fade. But they aren't as bad as many other shirts in that respect.

Shirts are great for what I do in LOGCAP IV. Most other shirts look bad when the free laundry service gets a hold of them; they are wrinkled or take on other colors. These 511 Professional Polo shirts look great, do not fade, they do not need ironing, and the collar stays strait and looking good.

For our summer alternative uniform shirts my employer picked another companies grey polos. As a faithful tactical white shirt 5.11 user, I did not purchase their shirts. These are sharp, seem to be better tailored than our other brands and have a unique pen holder on the left arm. I have to say working as a medic I put my uniforms through a multitude of junk. These keep me cool and looking professional.

I purchased a black professional polo this past spring. I was initally very impressed with the crisp apperance and the 'talk' back up the shirt. I wore it many times, and it quickly became a favorite. However, I recently pulled the shirt from my closet for use and noticed that the shirt had noticably faded after only a few months of light use and 'as directed' washes.Now, the shirt has faded, except for one spot, which has remained color fast (about the size of a half-dollar); the shirt now resides in a forgotten drawer, ready to be replaced. While I enjoy using may 5.11 products, I will not be wasting money on the Professional Polos again.
