For some reason, once you feel little tighter than the other one, it wants to bite in the back of my ankle, just uncomfortable. Sometimes I had five lemons for a long time same shoes. This is the first time I had this issue.

These boots are very narrow and uncomfortable on my feet. They are supposed to be waterproof and I was so excited to get these, but I came home with my insoles wet and inside if the boot damp on both boots. I've always had great experiences with 5. 11 boots. I've worn my Speed 4. 0 boots for almost a year and they have been the best pair of boots so far. Definitely disappointed in this pair. Should've tried the A. T. A. C 2. 0 style or stuck with my Speed boots.

Solid Build and Comfortable Fit, I Love This Boot

Just received my 5. 11 A/T 8 Waterproof Boots today. First impression: very solid build, the leather looks durable, and the side zipper works smoothly. I tried them on and they feel snug but supportive. I havent tested them in the field yet, but they seem promising. Ill update this review after using them for a few weeks at work.

I really like 5. 11 products. My wife purchased these boots for me Christmas 2024, now may 2025. I have wide feet. The wife says she ordered wide but these are not wide enough for me, I leave the laces more loose then what I prefer . If I didnt then the boots would be unwearable.

I have had the boots for a year and the more and more I wear them they tore on the sides. I had the wide option but that still didnt cut it. The size is perfect for my foot but the width of wide isnt a little too narrow and very unpleasant. This is my second pair from them and both have done the same thing.

Purchased these not even a year ago. The toe on one boot is completely coming apart. I do quite a bit of labor and walking. I had another pair from a different company that lasted 17 years and these fell apart before 1 year. I'm going to spend the extra money on those again vs these knock offs.

Side zip useless, wish they came without

Ordered these on line and took them out of the box today. Put them on and they felt great! Unzipped to take them off and I was stuck. (first pair of side zip I have ever tired on). Put the padding back in to return and get a pair without the zipper. Checked online to find out these don't come without a zipper, nor do most of their boots. I have another pair of 511 boots I really like in tan, not sure the style any more. So seeing as the zipper is my only option I have decided to keep them and will just use the laces every time and maybe after a wear in I can use the zipper. 6'3 195 with a size 13 boot. So maybe my feet are just too long and skinny that I have to tie tight and doesn't give me enough room with the zipper. So out of the box, I'm happy with the purchase, but sad I can't use one of the main features.

They are TIGHT! I hope they stretch out a bit; you might consider going with your regular size but selecting the wide version. Ive never needed wide shoes before but this would be somewhere that Id have chosen that if Id known.

Great boots, poor waterproofing

I've had these boots for just under one year. Haven't had to test the waterproof ability in the last month or two till recently. And come to find out the right one takes on water like any other tennis shoe would. The left one had a slight leak. The bad part is they look pretty good still. And definitely haven't been abused. I am disappointed to say the least. And for the price to performance, I can spend less and get similar results.

I most likely will not buy these again. I love the feel and look of these and the other products I own from 5.11 however these boots have absolutely failed me. The leather started cracking early on and the front part of the boot started falling off/coming apart as well. I dont think I have had these even a year yet. They started having damage not long after use. I just work in retail though not even hard labor not satisfied at all

Ive bought these boots twice in the last two years and each time they begin breaking down within the first 6 months. Ill wear them for as long as I can until theyre completely broken down. It sucks because I love everything else I get from 5.11 but the boots seem to be lacking in durability. Hard to justify spending another $185 for a third pair.

I bought these boots exactly one year ago. About six months after buying them, the sole cracked on the front of the right shoe which made them uncomfortable. This was about the same time the stitching began to come apart on both boots. The toe box is too small despite buying wide sizing. The back of the left boot in the heel area recently tore out which is why I'm shopping for new boots again. nnAlthough they were very comfortable for about 6 months and look great, I wouldn't recommend paying the price.

The boots (I got the Wide), out of the box, are really tight but eventually widen. They keep my foot and ankle quite sturdy.nThey're much lighter than my SHIELD boots which is nice, and the tread works well on ladders and climbing in general.nHowever, some side-stitching has come apart, I'm assuming due to my having very wide feet. I saw that this was an issue for many people in the reviews, but I decided to chance it. I tested the water-proofing before the side-stitching came apart and it works up to the ankle. Now, I think the water-proofing is non-functional on my one boot and that is a huge bummer for me. I reached out to customer support to see if they could help about a week ago but they have not responded yet.

Quality boot, comfortable and durable. Currently on a motorcycle tour of England and at the TT on the Isle of Man and theyve held up great after hundreds of miles of riding. In particular the soles have held up well. Surprisingly have not been able to test the waterproofing yet but they are warm and well fitting to that foot. I typically wear wide toe sneakers and a 10.5 but went with an 11 wide and they fit perfectly. Youll enjoy these boot if you need something that will get a bit of work.

Problem #1:This boot runs at least a half-size too big. I'm an 8.5 in every other shoe I wear no matter the brand or type, but I should have ordered an 8 in this.nProblem #2: It is not comfortable. No matter how many times I alter the laces, I cannot find a comfortable, perfect fit. nProblem #3: So hot. Perhaps that's the waterproofing. nProblem #4: Difficult to put on even with the side zip. nProblem #5: So uncomfortable. Yep. Stating it twice. It's loose in places, tight in places, restrictive, and they hurt my feet and ankles. nProblem #6: I thought the higher price would equal a better boot. Not the case. I should have stuck with my tried and true A.T.A.C. 2.0.

I bought these for hiking with better ankle support. They are working out great, and the sizing is true to my shoe size of 13. I wore them around the house for several hours over a couple of days to loosen them up a bit before my first hike, and that did the trick. The boots are fitted but not too tight- it keeps them from rubbing and causing any issues.

I wear these on my route as a courier. Its fast pace and high volume. Rocky brand Postal approved boot couldnt last two weeks. Literally! My 5.11 are holding up great. Provide great traction. Fit great and have an awesome balance of breathabilty and superb waterproofing. Love them and will shop with 5.11 Tactical in the future.

After 8 years in investigations, I needed a new pair of uniform boots when I transferred back to patrol earlier in the year. I'm very pleased with these. Comfortable, light, waterproof and they take a nice shine. I've been using them for 4 months and so far they are showing no wear and holding up great. nnI rarely leave reviews, but these boots are good enough I felt it was worth it as truly good uniform boots seems to be hard to come by these days and these are excellent.

Been putting these boots through the paces, working on the horse farm and the race track. Seven days a week, rain or shine walking, climbing, standing for 8-12 hours a day. Supportive and comfortable, not showing any signs of wear. One important factor in this is I brush them daily and use a leather cleaner and a leather conditioner weekly. Sand and wood pellet bedding will suck the oils right out of the leather. These boots are top quality, but even the best quality will not last without proper maintenance. If you do this and still have issues with the boot, a human being at the factory made a mistake or had a bad day. Email your problem to customer service and I am telling you from experience, 5.11 will make it right. The best customer service ever.

I loved these boots! I have had them for almost a year! However! About 6 months into owning them the left boots stitching began to rip. It's been about another 6 months, and they are now almost unwearable because of this. I have had other boots for much longer. I'm very upset by this because the boots are comfortable, and are very good in rough terrain. I do not think I will buy another pair due to this.

Hello, I purchased my boots just about a year ago. Im a veteran of the U.S. Army, these boots never been to the woods. I wear them to work 3-4 times a week. I work in Dental offices, not construction. The boots started to separate after 9-10 months. Clearly a defect in manufacturing. Showed my local rep the issue and couldnt tell me the actual policy, just said around 6 months. I could see if I was out in the desert everyday again but Im in rural Virginia. Really sucks because Ive been a fanboy for years. Really not happy and it sucks, because the boots are very comfortable.

The most comfortable and stable boots I have ever owned. A couple of days to break in, the footbed is pretty stiff but still very comfortable on my feet all day. Great ankle support and my heel locks in solidly with the locking laces. Makes walking a jumpy horse on uneven ground a lot less difficult. Stayed dry walking through mud and puddles on a rainy day.

The look was great, they felt Faber l very secure in my feet but the foot was a bit tight. I went into the local store to exchange them for a wide size but I was told that they did not have that boot in store at all. It was then suggested to me that I try the non waterproof version on. Which I did and they felt comfortable. I was going to exchange them but to my surprise since I got the original pair on sale, they were not able to apply the same discount. So essentially I would pay more for a non waterproof boot. I was also told that even if they did have the wide size in waterproof I wouldnt be able to get the same deal as I did online. That was super inconvenient for me to say the least. I ended up not getting anything in replacement of my boots that didnt fit that day. Yall need to work on your price matching capabilities as well as inventory that is online. Sincerely disappointed in the way this all went.

So I personally have owned a couple of pairs 5.11 and I must say they are comfortable and rugged. From working in the mountains hill side to walking 6 to 10 miles a day in a everyday work, they are comfortable and get the job done but it usually happens after 3 to 5 months of using them that they start to break down. So if you are looking for boots for work I would grab them because of how comfortable they are after a 10mile work day but for durability they will wear out fast. This last pair lasted about 100 days till the stitching started to come apart. Just a honest review.

Best boots Ive ever had. I had the mid atlas and figured Id give these a shot. I am on a post for 12+hours at a time and wouldnt wear anything else. nnI thought they were going to be too tight when I first got them but after 15 minutes of wearing them around the house they were good to go.

I bought 10 regular, which is my normal fit, but they were pretty snug on my feet and I almost returned them. But, I changed up my socks to seemless boot socks and the fit is much better. I've also been wearing them around the house to break them in. Nice boots overall and I plan to keep them now.

This boots makes your feet look really really neat and fully tactical. I would normally wear size 8.5/9 but i took a 10 after trying my colleague's size 11 and realized that my regular size would have been too small. The weight is excellent, not heavy at all and is well cushioned and fits the shape of you feet. Almost like you are walking on clouds. Im only giving this a 4 because I haven't worn it as yet for any lengthy period to see how it goes.

One thing I did not like was the wear on the heel side of the sole. Only been using thes trainers for couple months and the back heel soul is completely gridded offf now. Which it hat a sturdier soul for trying and rucking . Maybe thats why they are not stocking any new boot of this kind. Had to make some serious adjustments on their priciest boot.

The fit -nRun a half size small - 10.5, vs my 10 (28cm) in Timberland Pro - but they fit like a glove (sock?). Probably not great for heavy socks.nThe lace-locking at the ankle is amazing. Get the arch right, lock, then go from there.nnThe zipper -nThe waterproof gusset behind the zipper makes renders it useless for taking them off if you have narrow ankles/shins. Barely opens up at all through the ankle. Best use of the zipper is to snug up after getting them laced, even though you still have to lace them every time.
