The Rush 100 pack is the best backpack I have ever used since I starting camping about 20 years ago. It holds all of my gear easily and I can tell it will last longer than me.

Used this pack for a 12 day trip across Italy. The pack was comfortable to wear in-between stays. I also attached the rush 24 to use as a day pack using the tier system. Had plenty of room for clothes and souvenirs. The back also fit in the overhead compartment for the flight over, however it wouldn't fit in the overhead on smaller planes.

Super comfy and super practical. This pack makes everything easily accessible and easy to reconfigure for each missions needs. I swear this thing is so comfortable that its like wearing a pillow. I carry this for about 25-50 miles a week and Ive yet to encounter any problems with quality or comfort. The best ruck Ive ever worn. Hands down.

The detachable pouches are a bad design. They should be molle. Need more molle on the bottom pocket as well. Needs to be 60L in the main pack without the add on pouches. Needs pack cover as well.

TL;DR: really solid bag, but needs a larger waist belt buckle and wand pockets on the sides. They should also ditch the non-compressible/removable side pouches and just make the dimensions larger of the main pack (including the sleeping bag compartment).nnPROS: This bag is very solidly built (as with most 5. 11 gear) and holds up well. I found it to be very comfortable to wear even under heavy loads (I am a chronic over-packer). I love the way the main compartment zips open to access all your gear easily and the organization of the pack is great (goldilocks of compartmentalization). I also love the separate sleeping bag compartment so I can access my sleep system without having to pull everything out. I also love the removable waist belt so it can double as a combat belt for patrols. Very versatile pack. nnCONS: I found that the sleeping bag compartment was a little too small for my standard issue military sleep system. I also do not like that the removable side pouches are non-compressed and flop around a little adding to some instability. I wish they had killed 2 birds with 1 stone and just eliminated those side pouches and expanded the dimensions of the main pack instead. If they were going to have anything removable, I wish they had added dump pouches on either side to act as wand pockets (wand pockets being the standard with most backpacking packs). I read another review that mentions the waist belt buckle being too small and I agree. I changed it out for a 2" buckle and found it much more comfortable pressing into my gut. I wish they would have used a larger buckle and webbing to match for that part.nnOVERALL: Very solid pack and well worth the money, but just want them to make the aforementioned improvements before it becomes my all-time favorite pack.

I originally bought this bag to hold my gun with all my accessories and extra mags for the range, but I immediately changed course and for the better. I found it better used for a type of go bag. I tucked in some emergency camping/survival gear and am adding to it as I go. If I had limited time to get out and on the road or wherever else, I could grab this bag and have everything I need for my family to survive the elements. The pack is extremely comfortable to carry. With the waist band taking almost all the weight off my shoulders, it allows me to carry it for much longer without issue. I have also used the bag to pack clothes and everything else I need for about a week away. Plenty of pockets for everything and I have very easy access to all I need. Living in the desert I always want water with me, so having access to the bladder holder whenever I need comes in clutch more than I would have expected. When carrying it I don't need to carry as much water, which in turn cuts down on weight. I would highly recommend you check this one out. The only thing I would change on it is the two side pouches. I took them off and like the slimmer look.

Pros: Pockets! I love organization rather than stuffing everything into a large bag. Very comfortable even when loaded to the max. I have a ton of 5. 11 bags and love them all. The belt is removable to use as a padded utility belt; great idea!nCons: Not many, however, the material is a lot thinner than the other RUSH bags. Im guessing to lighten it up but hopefully over time it will prove as durable as the other RUSH series. Id complain about the cost but I got a really good deal with a sale (under $200). So if youre holding out because of the price. wait for the sale.nOne of the negative reviews was an issue with the bag not being waterproof. I always line the bag with a trash bag whether the bag is advertised as waterproof or not. Its simple and doesnt add weight.nOverall, extremely happy with the bag. I have no doubts that it will last the abuse Ill put it through. Thanks again 5. 11!

There is all this focus on adjustable straps and nothing to address the torso issue.nnIf your torso length doesn't match one of these measurements, it won't fit properly. So more focus is needed on torso length

Great hike in camping pack. Plenty of room for gear, and if it won't fit inside the pack you can strap it down on the outside. Lots of molle panels for additional pouches. Thick padded straps, so it pretty comfortable to carry. Got this on a 25% off sale so it was well worth what I paid for it. Definitely recommend

Mountain Rescue and K9 SAR require a lot of variety on my load outs. I've been using backpacking gear for the accessability, pack weight and comfort, but they all lack the ability to quickly change or add-on gear. Molle is the solution for versitility, but most Molle packs put the weight on the shoulders and not comfortably on the hips. Running behind a K9 off trail can make most packs feel like you're carrying a live monkey all on your shoulders. That gets exhausting.nThe Rush 100 fits me like a long haul backpack, putting the weight on my hip bones as it should. Running with a 40+ pound load out is literally hardly noticeble. It is stable, sits close to my torso, weigh on hips and yet...I'm not overheating.nIt has the right amount of Molle on the sides and back make accessorizing simple. I particularly like the laser-cut Molle on both shoulder straps. I can hook comms or navigation gear right where I need it and can leave my hot chest harness in the car. Having more laser cut Molle on the removable pack belt is huge, because I can so easily customize what I need instead of relying on some designer's idea for me. nAll the Molle across the back, sides and some on top also makes it easy to swap out accessory pouches with specific gear when the deployment plans change at the last minute. Having that flexibility makes all the difference in my use-case. A couple of light carabiners and I can strap 200' of static rope on the outside in an instant.nFor my purposes, the lower zippered pouch is not really big enough to warrant the extra zipper and weight. However, I'm experimenting with it on larger load-outs and beginning to like it for medical or specialty gear. I have options, which is the key.nnSummary: This is exactly what I was looking for. Molle in the right places and amounts so I can easily customize to my needs. Great suspension system and comfortable belt. Sturdy construction and great 60L size and fit that doesn't inhibit fast movement in bad footing. nnGreat job from my perspective 5.11!

I have had this bag for a few weeks and I love this bag. It is very spacious and comfortable. The bag is overall very light and has a lot of versatility. The only issues that I have are that the stitching in various areas are somewhat weak. There are small slots on the sides of the bags that are there to hold either a rifle or an axe. These spots have only one layer of stitching. There are also other spots where the bag could use some reinforcement. Overall the system is fantastic and I love this bag.

Im a big fan of this ruck, but I will say the sustainment pouches (side pouches) should have been molled on. There is a single strap on the back holding it on, and if you unclip the buckle on the back it will loosen or fall. That being said its the only negative part to the pack. Its well made and the molle everywhere else is done well.

So I bought for one job but now I use it two weeks every month in the back country of Utah. It held all my summer gear and now it can still hold all my winter gear . With a bigger sleeping bag and more jackets. I can make suggestions but its Molle system allows me to arrange the bag according to the work Im doing I love it

This was the very first item I ever got from 5.11, as a present for my birthday 2 years ago when I seriously needed to upgrade my pack system (for my back health). Since getting this bag, I have SWORN by 5.11 gear, and I've easily spent over 2k on gear in the past 2 years. nnBut about this pack, its incredibly versatile. Its spacious enough for me to fit 60+ lbs of gear into and comfortable enough for me to ruck 3.5 miles in the mud with. You CAN remove the side bags, but honestly it's not easy and I enjoy the extra storage and organization options they offer so I just leave them on. I actually tend to run a MOAB 6 or 8 on the back side using the tier system, so I can extend the carrying capacity as well as have an easily detachable day pack for shorter hikes if I camp. I have the pack normally set up to hold LITERALLY everything that I need for myself to go backpack-camping out in the backcountry for 3 days (That includes shelter, clothes, food, cookware/stove, sleeping gear, and all other small luxuries that I feel like stuffing in there) easily. I know its meant to be able to last you 100 hours which is a little over a 4 days, and I think this pack definitely could do that easily if you sacrificed a few non-essential luxuries. nnOne thing I do have a critique on would be that it would be better to have the water bladder storage sleeve be housed in a different compartment than the main one, seeing as the pressure from all of the stuff and cinching the tensioning straps […]

Overall a good pack. The side pouches would be better with Molle rather than the strap system. I added some pouches to the belt for the "quick detach" option, the side pouches are pretty useless for that. The pack feels light because of the belt, love how the pack feels when I wear it. A couple sustainment pouches on the side helps if you're looking to add more space.

Excellent bag, is used for mountain rescue operations. Had more than enough room for my personal gear and still had some more empty space. A very comfortable and form fitting bag. Members on my crew are opting to switch over to the rush 100.

It's good but not great. It has a large main compartment, and I like the divider that gives you lower and upper sections, but it doesn't have the organizational pouches and pockets that the RUSH 72 does. It also should have more MOLLE webbing in several places where you could have allowed the attachment of extra pouches. It's good, but it could and should have been a lot better for the price. It only gives you 5 more liters of volume and doesn't include many of the features that make the 72 so customizable and great. To pricey for something that doesn't give as much as the smaller packs. Do better guys.

After recently purchasing this bag, it seems they have listened to the reviews concerning the small belt buckle that appears in the images. The belt buckle and respective straps are much larger than I expected after reading past reviews, and seems to be larger and more substantial than what is shown. Well pleased with the bag, and do not foresee any issues with the belt.

This is a GREAT quality, heavy duty backpack that has a lot of versatility built-in. It's extremely comfortable thanks to the wide, padded waste belt. I can easily carry this pack, at 30+ lbs, despite my lower back spinal fusions. The light but strong frame is perfect. 60L is enough for me to carry everything I need for long duration hikes. It's slightly heavier (5.7 lbs) than UL packs, but it's much heavier duty and a fraction of the others' prices. I've dealt with this company's customer service, on an unrelated issues, and they immediately corrected the situation despite it being my fault. Outstanding!

The only gripe that I have is the belt buckle is to small. I am prior service and am used to bigger and wider belts to prevent ride down. Overall the backpack is good enough but fix the belt. Not a cheep cheap bag and you could have done better with the buckle.

As a former US ARMY Paratrooper I guess I can say a few things of backpacks. The most that I do not like of the bag is the belt and buckle. It should be wider in the front and the buckle should be bigger to prevent ride down and this will help with load distribution. I got this backpack for hiking and I guess I will try it for short distances because I know that the belt will just be a killer on my waist and shoulders. 5.11 should ask the military or veterans on what a backpack should be like. Overall a nice bag for a beginner.

I give the Rush100 five stars for comfort and adjustability. I've never worn a more comfortable large pack in the 30-some years I've been camping and backpacking. nnI give its overall size, volume, accessibility, etc. three stars because it is a bit small for my needs, and nothing about it sets it apart from any other pack of similar quality, size, and design, although I found the "locking quick release buckles to be a royal pain in the neck. I replaced them with regular buckles after my first trip.nnThe hip belt has lots of room for gear, bags, tools, etc., and it is easily detachable. It's very convenient for me to be able to detach the belt from the pack and wear it with suspenders as a sort of tool belt while I work on trail maintenance, shelter building, trap setting, fishing, etc. nnI like the belt so much that I thought Id buy a couple more and build them out for different types of trips so I dont have to spend as much time reconfiguring my load out between trips. After a bunch of emails back and forth with 5.11 customer support, I was finally told that I cant get another belt. They pointed me to the Rush belt kit, which I dont think is compatible with the Rush100, and even if it can be made to work, it isnt what I need. I need a full belt, just like the one that came with the pack. Id happily pay $30 dollars apiece for them.nnBut apparently, I cant get one. If I hadnt exceeded my Amazon return window, Id return the pack to 5.11 because it will be useless to me if the hip belt gets lost or heavily damaged (and I cant get a replacement). Ive already talked four friends out of buying this pack due to a lack of replacement parts. Its a shame, because the pack is very good, otherwise.

I used this pack on a 12 day Philmont trek with my kids (~90 miles of hiking). The pack had "just enough" space for my tent/bag/clothes/food/etc - although I had to add a first aid kit, water bottle holder, and accessory pack to the exterior (easy with Molle). Although not the lightest pack, the many pockets and compartments made organization easy, and the construction quality proved solid. My main issue was with the hip-belt. I am rather slim, and I found that the hip belt would constantly slip down my pelvis putting almost all the weight on my shoulders (despite constant belt tightening - made worse when pack weight was over 45lbs). I have owned several other backpacks from other manufacturers, and this pack simply "rode" worse on my pelvis. The belt is a rather "simple" design compared to the more "shaped" belt designs you would find on something like an Osprey pack. Quality pack with nice features, but the belt design was marginal when going the distance with weight.

Great Pack. Wish it had more "administration" pockets, etc, like the Rush72 2.0 in the front part but the pack has everything else. Plenty of space and a nice light but stiff frame. I also like the removable belt and it's ability to hold small items but if you pack the entire bag full, you will need the belt strap.

It is a very comfortable backpack and its cargo capacity is subpar. I can fit the average 5 year old and I can fit two if they are disassembled. The strap makes it easy on the shoulders when walking trough dense forest for hours. This pack has earned the five stars

As a former US Army infantry soldier, I do tend to be a little critical when it comes to a backpack that is supposed to be tactical. should you need to do a tactical drop of this pack you better have practiced it. It is not easy to drop quickly. Also, the side pouches on the exterior the bag would have to be cut off. I learned this when I tried to take them off to put my MRE mole pouches on each side this bag also does not have enough space in the mole attachments to attach your standard mole medical kit .

It's exactly what I wanted , very roomy lots of storage fits everything that I need for what I need to pack when out . Comfortable . Highly recommend. I'm 5ft11 and even with it sitting on my hips there is plenty of room to look up with helmet on. Just need to order some additional pouches and I'll be set.

I no longer have this pack. I bought it the year it came out. My complaint then was no multicam. I am in the market for another one since I lost the first one in a house fire, June 2021. Now I'm experiencing the same complaint. I absolutely love these bags so it won't keep me from purchasing another. I would like to own one of each color. I use these packs as camping, rucking, traveling and other use bags. I used to own all of the RUSH series bags in multicam. Unfortunately I need to replace those as well. If you're on the fence about buying one, just do it. You won't regret it.

I've got two of these now. One for me and the other for my lady. We go ruck as often as we can and we reached a point I can't carry 90% of our gear anymore. I was carrying stuff for her, the dog, and myself in my 100 pack. Got her a 100 so she can carry some more gear and still managed to keep her pack significantly lighter than mine. Super happy with our packs :+1::+1:

This is my go to main pack for all my rucks. Works great for multiple day trips, packs tight and light, and the compartments make organization pretty legit. Doesnt bode too well with heavy rain but a fly should be a mandatory purchase in my opinion. Extremely durable which is a huge plus due to the fact that Im extremely careless when dropping my pack or kicking it around. I buy 5.11 for damn near everything and this is by far the best purchase. nnAdjusting the straps can be a bit of a pain with the Velcro, however, its the bitter sweet with the comfort and modularity. Once adjusted for my stature it fits very comfortably and doesnt shift. The saddle bags tend to fit loose if the bag isnt loaded but if they arent needed theyre easy to remove. nnThe belt is removable so getting a different size if needed isnt difficult. nnStoring my camelback is the only major downside I have with the pack. When loaded it puts too much pressure on the bladder and I fear itll burst. Im limited to a 2-3L bag due to this and it still wont fit in the entire pouch. nnOverall this bag is capable of a one week trip comfortably and the performance wont disappoint.

The two side pouches sit too high and there is no molle included to be able to move them lower. Makes the pack top heavier. Essentially the inside of the bag is this cavernous stuff sack for camping gear. It's not ideal for packing specialized things like a fire kit or water purification pack, etc. The waist belt is excellent and so are the shoulder straps. The outer back of the pack doesn't have enough molle. When it's unzipped, the worst thing is you cannot effectively organize smaller items. There is no molle webbing. In fact it looks like a place to store magazines. Look at the strong points of the Rush 72 and integrate them into this bag.as expensive as it was, I was overall disappointed. Could your team design some disaster preparedness bags based on the rush system but with places to safely pack a pro gas mask kit or water safety gear without taking up space in the bag? Something revolutionary...people are buying these bags mainly for the bugout aspect.

Best backpack Ive ever bought. I have three other tactical backpacks, but not as good as the Rush100! This pack has a lot of storage capacity. I like the heavy duty hip support belt and sturdy internal frame that will help distribute a full heavy load. I will be able to pack for the long haul with the Rush100. It has unlimited attachment options to fasten gear outside the backpack. You can piggyback smaller packs to carry first aid kits, cooking gear, and your tactical gear for protection, maintenance, and weather protection. I cant wait to put the Rush100 backpack to good use on my many camping, hiking, or If all hell breaks loose . The Rush100 backpack will definitely be my main bug out backpack. The design is very simple and easy to access your gear. The material and stitching is very well made and should stand up well to most weather and packing conditions. Any problems or questions about the Rush100 tactical back pack is backed up by a great customer service team who will gladly answer any of your questions regarding the Rush100 tactical backpack. This is one the best packs for the value. Ive researched over a 100 backpacks before I purchased the Rush100. It should provide me with many years of comfort and reliability on the trails.

Love the backpack ! I used it to start rucking with a 60lb sandbag. I felt no pressure on my back or knees. After a mile I felt it in my shoulders a little until I adjusted the way I was standing. Cant wait to use it for camping trip.

This is a great backpack. I am 100% civilian, not LE or Mil, but l don't like single-compartment bags, where you must dump everything in and rummage around to find it later. I love the flexibility of this modular design. I have not used the bag on a trip, but it looks promising. The only negative is the belt strap buckle is too tiny for my liking. I would also prefer a few more civilian color schemes that are less. Tactical, but I realize civilian users are not the target customer base, so OD was ok by me.

I bought this bag for my husband thinking the that bottom compartment would be big enough for an issued sleep system. However, it is neither big enough nor are the straps on the bottom big enough to strap it to the bag. It still seems like a nice bag, but well have to get creative when packing our sleeping bags.

Well built. Durable. First major use was using it on a Search and Rescue mission climbing up a ravine to the top of a difficult mountain. Through cactus and cat claw and holly. Not one tear. My only complaint is that the rigid frame is too high up and for someone my size it prevents me from being able to look up. The pack is well organized and gives me good quick access to medical and rope gear via the small pouches on each side. However, just for the sole reason that the frame prevents me from looking up, Im likely going to check out the next Rush pack size down. Unless theres a smaller frame that can be installed.

Plenty of adjustability for wearing over a t-shirt to wearing over heavy coats or body armor. Great internal frame and wide, padded waist belt for weight distribution/ bearing ( TWO sizes, get the larger one if you or your items carried on a belt or heavy clothing need adequate room. Plenty of fine tuning adjustment as well). Sturdy and easy to use compartments and a roomy main compartment for the bulk of the basics.

This pack was put to the test on an overnight hiking trip by myself while my hiking buddy opted for the USMC ILBE Rucksack Gen II. Having personally used both, I can fully support that the RUSH100 is an outstanding piece of gear for hiking. nnIt's material is tough and reliable. The waist strap was a lifesaver along the trail as we began running into more rugged terrain on the nd day of our journey. It's storage capacity was good although due to my personal choice of strapping my tent on the outside bottomed of the pack while using the lower compression compartment for my sleeping bag left me with less space inside the lower portion of the main compartment. nnOverall this is an awesome pack and I cannot wait to put it to more rigorous use on future trips. Needless to say, my friend is intending on buying a RUSH100 and ditching his current pack.

Shape is a lot more narrower then Expected. As far as the capacity goes I was able to get ten each of shirts, socks and underwear stuffed in the bottom stuff sack. Main compartment had enough room for my Light Fighter tent and two sets of OCPs. Goal was to maximize all spaces available. The quality of the material seems durable although 1 1/2 weeks in the field will put that to the test. Im a bit unsure on the strength of the shoulder straps as it connects midway to the bottom strap with only a quick release buckle. If and when it ever breaks, thats itso long rucksack. So well see

Bought these for our scout hiking trip to Philmont. Different than everyone else's packs, but the Molle and overall durability / versatility of this pack was better suited for the trip. The waist belt is stiff and supports the load very well. Hiked over 62 miles with it weight 55 to 60 pounds and had no issues with anything breaking or tearing or being damaged. Great pack and will hopefully get many more miles with them!

I ruck, backpack and mountain climb. Packs are everything to me. Bought this one in ranger green. Ive put close to 300 miles on it and 10 nights of camping. Its better than my Arcteryx Bora 70. By a long shot. Im climbing Ranier in 2023 and would use it but I need 75+ liters. Exceptionally comfortable and looks sharp too. Currently using it for Carry The Load. Highly recommend it.

We had the Rush72 for camping trips and as a go bag since we live in tornado alley. While a great bag as we packed it, it was hard for my wife since the bag goes out. We bought the Rush100 since it is more vertical. We love the shape of it. After packing it, it was easier for my wife to carry it. The quality of it is strong, although the straps arent as comfortable as the Rush72, but not a big deal. You can really load it up. We got a few more things to put into it. We look forward to using it soon.

Pros: This bag right here is the last bag I will ever need, it's versatile, durable, and does everything I need it to do with attachments. It's nearly indestructible, comfortable, reasonably priced, limitlessly expandable and I almost could not be more satisfied with a pack. This will be not only be my bugout bag but my INCH bag as well. It qualifies for a bag ready to last until the hot hot summer of 2089 through daily use and abuse and nuclear wars aplenty.nnCons (sort of): it takes a little bit of time for the adjustment straps to kind of break in and not be so stiff and hard to slide and adjust, but overtime they get really slick and lock super well. A little uncomfortable when I first put it on, but it was new and still starchy and fresh out of the package. And the bag took a little time for my back and the bag to get used to each other for it to become a comfortable bag that I don't feel on my back when wearing. I have a slight scoliosis as well and for this bag to do its job well of alligning the spine is a must have, I believe, for anyone looking for a lifetime packnnOther thoughts: I wish this bag had the full bodied 1050D nylon like the rush 72 has, but I at the same time understand for the means of weight reduction. Still, I have tried to see if I could find any weak points in the bag and couldn't, and see this bag lasting a lifetime or two.

This is my 2nd bag from 5.11 and I am impressed. The material is super tough, stain resistant so it always looks great. The bag has a ton of storage mine is loaded down to 45# right now and I dont even have anything in the main compartment yet. The detachable hip belt with Molle is perfect. nnTwo things Id like to see added to the pack are handles on the side for better grip when putting on the pack, and way to secure the tail ends of the straps just to clean up the look up the bag. Super excited about this bag and the additional adventures Ill go on it.

I expected a quality product from 5.11 but this Ruck surpassed my already high expectations. The pocket style a layout is done with real world use by those that need various items quickly and quietly. Weight distribution by the integrated frame disperses the weight to such a degree that the load seems lighter than it actually is. I would highly recommend this ruck to anyone that spends a lot of time Rucking. It will save some wear and tear on the body.

One issue. The non attached outer side pockets are not fully detachable and moveable to other bags, yet are not sewn in to the main bag. Other than that the product is terrific! The gator teeth adjustable strap clips should all be gator teeth, not just the front two. 8/19. Third 511 review ive given.

I like the configuration of the pack. The quality of materials is a huge let down though. I own eight other packs from 5.11, and compared to them this is very sub par. The zippers especially are way to fagile for this type of pack and because of this I cannot recomend this pack for serious use.

Overall this pack is built well with the exception of a couple zippers in the smaller pockets which seemed small and fragile. I myself like heavy duty zippers. The pack itself can get top heavy if you load it up. Didnt offer much balance in the way of load distribution. In conclusion the pack is good and built fairly well but the 60L was too much for my needs. Needed to scale down.

After my first positive impression of the Rush 100, I thought about a way to reduce the weight of the internal frame. It is very robust and works well, but its weight is 539 gs. On one of my other backpacks, I replaced a simple plastic panel by an Aluminum tube frame, which gave the backside of the pack an ergonomic shape and it saved even 30 gs. So now I did the same on my Rush 100. I manufactured a closed Aluminum tube frame, which I formed exactly according the outer shape of the original plastic panel. Also, I bent the frame according all curves of the original Alu flat bar. The tube has a diameter of 10 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm. I was lucky and the frame fits exactly into its pocket. Regarding bending forces, the tube is 3x as stiff as the flat bar. One more benefit is that the tube has no sharp edges like the plastic panel, so the Cordura fabric with never rip. This new home made frame weighs 190 gs, only, so it saves 349 gs against the original frame!nI should mention that w/o the panel, hard pieces of the packed equipment could poke through the back of the backpack's body, even though most of that surface is covered by thick padding. Also, to make such a frame, is not that easy, at all. I used to work in the Aluminum branch, so I have some experience in tube bending. For the corner radii I used a cheap hand tool and for the other curves a vice and simple wooden templates.nNow the total weight of my Rush 100 is 2215 gs! nIn case, 5.11 Tactical is interested in my frame, I can send pictures.

Last week I bought a used Rush 100 in cangaroo color. Yesterday I made a 6,5 mile test hike with 32 pounds of load. I was surprised how comfortable this back is to carry! There was very little pressure on the shoulders, because the hip belt took most of the weight. I have the L/LX belt, which should be suitable from 35" - 45". My hip circumference is 38", but this is already borderline. At 35", the tips of the belt ends touch each other. Anyway - the belt works for me, even though I would prefer the S/M version. Can I buy it separately at 5.11 Tactical (I live in Germany)?nThe internal frame, consisting of the plastic plate, the Aluminum flat bar and the glass fiber rods is pretty heavy (539 gs), but its function is excellent.nFinally, I found the ideal pack for thruhikes and camping. The 60 liters are just sufficient and I have still the 2 side pouches for food. For the water, I have 2 Nalgene Oasis canteens, which I attached underneath the pouches in special MOLLE holders. nI can really recommend the Rush 100!

I have a lot of praise, one point of constructive criticism, and a question for the designers of the RUSH100. I'll start with the good.nnThis pack is exactly what I was looking for: a slightly scaled down, upgraded version of my Army-issued rucksack. All of its features strongly correlate with the other pack's design, so I will be reviewing this pack against the other. 1 - The removable belt is easily my favorite feature, because I never used it on my MOLLE II rucksack, but removing it wasn't an option. The removable belt itself is a viable replacement for the battle belt I currently use, and will probably take its place in the near future. 2 - The exchangeable volume lower compartment is another improvement over the other's. It fit both my sleep system and a few changes of clothes without the other pack's nuisance of unzipping the divider, which doesn't even completely segregate the compartments. 3 - The ease of adjustability for the shoulder straps and the inclusion of two pairs of load lifter attachments puts the other pack to shame, no elaboration required. 4 - Features of the RUSH100 that the Army-issued rucksack doesn't have. A dedicated hydration bladder pouch is obviously preferable to clipping your Camelbak onto the outside of your ruck. The admin pouch fit my rifle range bureaucracy binder and it also has enough webbing on the outside to attach my excavation tool where it normally goes. The lashing straps on the bottom are fully functional alone, instead of depending on being buckled to the MOLLE II's top flap, which leads me to the bad of the RUSH100. nnThe RUSH100's side pouches are the only feature that is worse than the Army-issued rucksack and its equivalent sustainment pouches. Both suffer from waste of space where webbing should be placed underneath. 5.11's side pouches are secured underneath by the main compartment's compression straps, whereas the Army's sustainment pouches are weaved on, and have the superior option of running the field pack's compression pouches over them. Furthermore, removing the 5.11 side pouches proved a lengthy nuisance, where I ultimately had to simply cut off the compression straps' sewn endings because they won't fit through the autolock no-slip buckles. Fortunately, the buckles are so effective as to work perfectly fine with endless straps.nnFinally, with the side pouches removed on my RUSH100, I have to ask: what is the purpose of the "dual side pass through panels"?

I got the pack specifically for backpacking, and it preformed fantastically on the first trip I took it on. however more recently I have been using it for rucking. It is a very comfortable pack, even with a lot of weight in it, I found it easy to get on and off even when the straps were tightened very tight. my only complaint is that there is not pals webbing on the lower front compartment but, I understand why it is not there. All in all I would recommend this pack to anyone

500 denier nylon for the Main Body is too light. Not water resistant at all. Pick a sunny day and check the weather forecast. Use individual Dry Sacks to keep your contents dry inside the pack. I expected a more competitive design. Your RUSH 72 Hour Backpack 2.0 has better features than this RUSH 100 Backpack. No internal zippered pouches in the Main Body of this Backpack. The Hydration pouch is set too low in the Main Body of this backpack. I do not recommend this Backpack until it has been improved in materials and design.

First of all let me say this all other products that Ive purchased from 5:11 this far Im very satisfied with. Im only putting this here to maybe help others. When using the Rush 100 check the weather make sure its a sunny day or pack the items that you dont want to get wet or near water in a zip lock bag or have a poncho handy this is not by any means a water proof bag. Also the bag takes for ever to dry which add weight to your track/hike/bug out. When I get back home which I got 4 more days the Rush 100 will be going back. Come on fellows for $280 you might want to address this The Rush 24 same way. Yes we do have ponchos but I didnt think they would be needed for it wasnt a down pour.

Just used on 3 day training class and I could not be happier. Rarely got to take it off. I could not be happier. There needs to be a multicam option, only complaint. Read other complain about small waist strap in front and I disagree, the small strap was great. Served 13 years as 11B, this is most comfortable ruck I've ever worn. Organization was great! I added 2 SAW pouches on the sides and a Sustainment pouch on the front. You could stay out indefinitely with this pack. So happy I had to come back to write a recommendation review, you will not be disappointed, money well spent.

Great bag. Lots of options and adjustments. Took it for a hike with 45 pounds and it felt pretty good.Only complaints are related to the belt:1) The waist buckle is too small at 1. It digs in when wearing a light shirt and is uncomfortable. Ive had to be creative with padding mine. Ill see how it works out.2) No where to put the straps after adjusting them (front pull straps) so I ended up needing molle clips to clamp down all the dangling straps. No biggie.

I just bought this at the Riverside, Ca store. Took it out for a nice 5 mile ruck, loaded with a 25lbs sand bag and my hydration bladder. With just that amount of weight the waist buckle digs deep into your intestines / lower stomach. If you were to really load this bag up then say goodbye to your stomach and intestines.My only question is why couldn't you guys just use the same buckle as the Rush 72 and is there a way i can change the buckle myself easily? Or direct a link to buying a new buckle from Amazon?As for everything else the bag is superb.

While the pack is wonderful the hip belt is unexpectedly awful. I have a 34 waist hence a small size belt on the pack. The padding on the belt needs to extend further and not be terminated with the painful design of buckle used. A retro fit needs to be developed yesterday and distributed to current owners of the 100. I didn't pay for a pack that is way less comfortable than my 80's Kelty. I hope that your design team gets an opportunity to make this right. I may cost a few dollars to correct this issue but it will make many customers happy and loyal which pays in the long run.

First and foremost, I love 5.11 and everything they do! I truly appreciate their commitment to quality and always being innovative! Ive just about owned ever pack they make at one point or another and Im never disappointed.The Rush 100 is no different. I was so excited when I first saw this pack online and couldnt wait to get my hands on it. Now that Ive had a little time with it, I wanted to give my feedback. The bottom line is I absolutely love it! If I was able to, I wouldve given this pack 4.9 stars. Once I dialed in the shoulder and load straps properly, I loaded the pack with about 70 lb. of gear. The weight distribution felt amazing! Way better to than the Rush 72 and AMP 72 that I have.The only reason, to me anyway, that this pack isnt perfect and didnt get 5 stars is the buckle on the waist belt. I know the 5.11 team always analyzes every detail of everything they do but I dont understand this decision. I understand and agree with why they changed to just doing the 1050D on the bottom of the pack but buckle I just cant wrap my head around.If you wear a jacket you dont notice it but if its hot outside and youre wearing a t-shirt and carrying a full load the 1 in. buckle digs into your stomach and makes it very uncomfortable and I have a 30 in waist. If I loosen the strap it doesnt support the weight properly. Ive never seen a 1 in. buckle on packs this size, on smaller packs yes. On top of that the way the strap is designed so you cant even swap out the buckle for a 2 in. I had to get creative and do a custom job sewing a new strap with a 2 in. buckle on it and that totally solved the problem.If anyone from the 5.11 team reads this, I would love it if you would take this into consideration for future upgrades to this pack. I would even buy a new waist belt by itself with a 2 in. buckle on it. That being said, this pack is absolutely amazing and worth every penny I paid for it! Keep up the great work 5.11 I appreciate everything you do and stand for!

Just received my Rush 100. A little different then from the videos from the Shot Shows. The buckles were Kangroo color instead of Black from the advertisement videos from earlier this year. The 500D Nylon is more flimsy than the Rush 24 I own. I plan to take it out in the field next week and will see how it operates. For $260.00 well see if the price point is fair.
