Wasn’t able to get this shoe for a year because my feet grew to a size 15 and every time I checked size 15 wasn’t available. Long story short I had a pair 2 years ago bought 3 more pair. This year I bought a pair and will definitely stick with this model! If you’re still reading it has all day comfort with the flexibility to bend to your natural foot movement while having a stable platform. What else do you need ! Perfect!

I bought these boots and received them about a week after purchase. Shipping cost throught TheFireStore is ridiculous, but that's a different story. Got the boots in, unboxed them and tried them on. The struggle I had just to get my heel in was worrysome. And even though I bought a wide, it does not seem like a lot of other wide shoes I've ordered.

After being a loyal long time buyer of six pairs (pre 2.0) boots you have lost me on any future purchases.nWhy? This design in size 11 has been cheapened by reducing the side panels size that the string holes are in and enlarging the distance between string holes. This change is easily measured when placing original design next to the 2.0. The fit is now terrible and does not flex properly due to this change.nThis change comparison is this. Old design when laced up the visual is a nice parallel distance between side panels all the way up/down. New design the distance is open not parallel looking like streached over stuffed cheap piece of crap. You need to bring back the original design.

These are honest the best boots I've had in a long time. I would not recommend for cops who do foot patrol in major cities like New Orleans, Chicago, New York City etc because the soles wear through (got mine end of July and have put 2 million plus steps in them, the majority on asphalt and concrete). I walk to and from work (8 to 10 miles depending on route I take depending on various circumstances/conditions) and these have held up EXTREMELY well. I tend to be extremely hard on my shoes and boots and would typically be buying new ones because current ones are falling apart. These are still solid in that department with only wear outside the soles being the cloth in the tendon area of the back of them wearing through in an particular area, but like with my laces that kept wearing through quickly being caused by way my feet planted and stressed a particular area because of the ground slope. To combat that issue I'm getting a pair of running shoes to wear to/from work and will have to get socks when 8 can afford them later (want 10 pair each of tan and white ankle and black crew of the heaviest duty (2 pair/$25) line so I can change to dry socks each time I change footwear) as well as one of the 20L backpacks (the one that's waxed).

I've worn the 8 inch ATAC boot for 15 years now and have NEVER been disappointed. The limited break-in period is incredible. You just slip them on, adjust the laces, zip them up, and go. I wouldn't wear any other style of boot.

I love these boots. Theyve been worn for almost two years for duty and still going strong. Excellent in 100 degrees plus weather and -20 degree weather, and in Montana terrain. And after a little Kiwi attention, these things have endured just about everything. Bought a second pair as a backup. Not even sure I need to bust them out yet. Better than the more expensive Danner counter part, and for way cheaper.

I had a pair of these boots a few years ago and they were so comfortable, and they didn't need any break in period. The pair that I got for this past Christmas is nothing more that junk! I understand that some shoes need a break in period, but I've worn these to work for 4 shifts and all they do is make me hate them more and more. When I told my wife which pair of boots I wanted, it did not say on the website that they are steel toe. They seem to run small in size and they have zero flex to them. It's a shame that I am passed the 90 day return period or they would be going back. I'm very disappointed in the "quality" of these boots......5.11 you can do better.

I bought a pair of these last week. They broke on the second day. Returned them, and bought another pair. They broke within hours of wearing them. Worst part, I'm not getting refunded for shipping fees, so I spend over $50 on boots that I got to wear for less than 3 days. Customer care did absolutely nothing for me. I would expect more out of boots that I spent $120 on. Piss poor performance. I could not be more disappointed. Shame on you, 5.11

This is my fourth pair of these boots over my 11 year career and they've gone downhill. The zipper of the side zip is the only thing connecting it to the rest of the boot. My past boots had the inner layer sewn to both sides of the side zip. The overall feeling is cheap. This is the last time I go with these boots

Horrible quality. Soles are already coming apart and leather is cracking. Just started wearing them. Tried to return them to Simi Valley store and the nmanager wouldnt allow it. Will not use 5.11 boots again. If I am going to spend this amount of money then Ill shop somewhere with better quality. Ive even had better luck with Wal Mart boots. Would not recommend!!!

I love these boots! Only problem is they are very stiff at first, they typically take me about 3-4 months of doing light walking and around the house outdoor chore, to break in. After that they're perfect for hiking and rock climbing in doing all sorts of outdoor activities I can run in them perfectly.

Ive been using these as a line cook and they have been awesome, Ive had mine for roughly a year now, the slip-resistant tread has worn down a bit so Im going to just carve them out a little more. The protective toe has saved my feet from knives being dropped on my feet as well.

Comfortable but they dont last very long. I work 4 12s a week in ems and get a new pair about twice a year. For the price, I personally dont mind but they do fall apart fast. The tread wears fast and Ive had laces break frequently. Ive only had the sole come off once out of the 4 pairs Ive had. Biggest pros are theyre shineable, comfortable, and affordable.

Just returned from hiking in the Smokies. Day 1 I wore Hoka GTX. Excellent cushion, comfort and traction up the mountain, through various terrain. Day 2 I wore 511 ATAC. Excellent cushion and comfort. The problems with traction began on the descent. It was rocky. Descent was bad. 3 stars due to substandard traction on rocky trails.

I've had the original pair of 8 inch side zip A.T.A.C. boots since 2016. I'm finally going to purchase another pair after traveling most of the country with these on my feet and wearing them almost daily. They've had almost zero tread for about 6 months now but the sole is finally starting to fall off. Even the laces lasted about 5 years! I wish I could rate these boots higher than 5 stars.

Boots run small. Ordered men's size 12 W which is a half size too large for me to accommodate orthotics. Orthotics don't fit and even with the original inserts the boots are too short - toes hit the front. Sizing is way off.

Very comfortable.nnOne thing to keep in mind - sizing is a bit dodgy.nnI had bought another pair of boots online and they were way too narrow (9.5W). Brought them to the store in Tampa to exchange. Saw the pair I ultimately bought, also in a 9.5W, preferred them and they fit perfectly. So I think that sizing is not consistent.nnWith that said, they seem well constructed but time will tell.

Good boot with easy break in period. Very comfortable for walking a lot on hard concrete surfaces a lot. Only drawback was after having them, they run slightly smaller in size then my normal shoe size. Just wish I knew to order a half size larger since my big toe seems to be a little cramped at times.

I bought an earlier version about 8 years ago and theyre just starting to fall apart. Theyve gone through h***, like all my boots have. I was beyond surprised to find that these barely fit. The one thing thats bigger and deeper, though, is the knife pocketwhich is a good thing. The inside bottoms also feel much stiffer.

It is a good fit however the side keeps bulging not sure if its the size of my foot or just the shoe. Its comfortable and warm especially for the approaching colder days . Its a nice strong material so far the only downfall like I said is the bugling on the side which could be related to my feet . It gives my toes enough room to be comfy throughout my 12+ hour shift.

The good -nAbsolutely feather light! My asics are heavier.nZipper is not gusseted, so should be plenty of egress.nnThe less good -nZipper sticks, catches on the protective flap (possibly a one-off issue with my pair)nAlmost too roomy at a regular width; heel cup is really deep, and there's a lot of room for movement in the forefoot as well.nLacing is fast and smooth ... so it slips back a little too easily when cinching the arch.nnAll in all, I worried that the fit was just asking for blisters in my case. If you have bigger (not longer) feet and ankles, or always wear thicker socks, these may be the way to go.

bought these boots for my husband and he loves them. he had 5.11 boots before which held up for a long time for the amount of time he was on his feet. these seem to be the same boots from his last pair but better, its easier now to get your foot in and out. so if you like boots that are above the ankle I'd highly recommend.

I bought these boots over a year ago, after I read a reddit post praising the build quality. I have worn them in all sorts of weather conditions, and as anyone who lives in the midwest can tell you, there are a lot of them. They are not waterproof, however, having worn them through heavy rain and snow, I can say they are pretty good at keeping your feet dry. They are well insulated, and also keep your feet warm. When summer comes, they are breathable enough that your feet won't feel like you stuck them in a furnace. Having worked in industrial freezers, the slip resistance is top-notch, and has kept me from injuring myself on the job multiple times, not to mention they look fantastic while doing so. They are incredibly lightweight, and the best boot I will ever own. It was worth every penny, and once my pair finally wears out, I will certainly buy another set.

New model is easier to pull on and slip off. More breathable also than before. Same great quality I've come to love about the 5.11 ATAC. Solid footing and didn't require a break in period before feeling comfortable. Fit is as expected, not loose and won't leave my feet with sores. I wore the last pair for several years and only needed a new one after wearing them through a motorcycle accident.

They are still good well priced boots but I prefer the previous style that is now discontinued better. Primarily the side zipper flap is too small on the new style boot. Definitely went for looks on that instead of functionality.

I've been a fan of their Rush packs and own a few. They've been through hell a few times and back. Never a failure. These were my first boots from 5.11. They made it less than 8 months before falling apart in every way imaginable. I've owned, Bates, Blackhawk, Belleville, Tactical Research, and a few others... I can tell you that these are absolute garbage. I contacted customer support and was told by a Lisa Castro that she would give me 20 percent discount on another pair of boots... My husband love this boots now if you can make them in wide withs and half sizes that would me great . One thing tho you need to find a better way of glueing the sole on they fall a part after a year maybe L&L products can help you with that. They are in Romeo Michigan my husband works for them. The boots were great and by far one of my favorite style and company to own. Unfortunately about 3 weeks ago I was wearing them for the very first week at work. I currently work in a jail assigned to the Emergency Response Team. We had to conduct a cell extraction on a combative and armed inmate, which fortunately for all staff, was completed without incident. What we weren't aware of was that he had smeared and obscene amount of feces amongst his cell during which my new boots got covered in. After our incident was completed and my team left to decontaminate I set my boots to the side in bags with the intent of them being hosed down and severely deep cleaned. Apparently my maintenance staff did not get the memo and threw them away. But I will say this throughout the entire incident my feet remained dry with zero seepage. 10/10 would buy again and again with hopes they don't get ruined in the first week

This is probably one of the best purchases Ive made. The support alone is incredible. Durability wise, I love them. So far theyve lasted. The laces are a bit hard to deal with, but theres a zipper. As for the toes, I wish they were reinforced but are otherwise great. The oil slip-free treads however.. dont work too good on greasy tile, but are great everywhere else

I purchased these boots for running around to do airsoft and was a little worried because I have very small sized women's feet. I normally am a size 5, and these fit perfectly. The shoes do not weigh a lot - in fact, they are very light. Breaking them in was not difficult at all either, and with a few inserts to help my arches, these are boots I know I will get a lot of mileage out of.

I just bought a second pair of these boots, mainly because 5.11 sent me a decent coupon. My first pair were nice--super comfy and sized just right. My only complaint is how short a lifespan the soles had. Actually, the heels were/are my concern in how quickly they wore through. I walk between 12,000 and 15,000 steps/day which isn't too crazy, but less than six months in, I had holes starting to show in the heels. My heels usually wear faster on the outside edge because of my gait, but now thanks to these holes I can see how little substance there actually is past the initial tread. That tells me they would still wear through just as fast at any angle. Again, these boots are extremely comfortable and very lightweight, but I wouldn't ever pay full price again for them, especially since they can't be resoled. I'm sure they're just fine for folks who don't walk quite as much as I do. I just expected a little more from a company like 5.11.

I have been using the A.T.A.C. for years and have always been happy with how comfortable they are and how sturdy. I'm pretty hard on boots and I always got a year or better out of these boots. However, the new design was very disappointing. I had so much faith in these boots that I usually put them on out of the box and wear to work with no concern of comfort, but the new make mad a 12 feel like an 11 and also made them feel more narrow than before. I had to sell them to a buddy who normally wears an 11 and said they fit him like his normal boots do.

These have always been my go to in my work boots. I have been wearing this brand and style since the beginning. However, they have changed them up a little here and there and while the fit and comfort of them are the same I prefer the previous style of the ATACs. Seemed a little harder to shine with this pair as well. I'm old school so a good spit shine is still something I do with my uniform boots. I had to replace the shoelaces also because the ones they come with are a little shorter than I'm used to with these so I got longer ones. Not real crazy about the tongue of the boot being thicker than with the older style. Still, I will most likely keep getting these for patrol simply for the comfort and durability of them.

I have owned a pair of these boots before and I really liked them. After break in my feet are very comfortable in them, even when I wear them all day for multiple days. They are so, light weight, that you dont realize you have boots on until youre in rough terrain and need the grip and ankle support. The only drawback I find with them is that I wear out the tread/soles before the rest of the boot is worn out.

I read many reviews before I bought these shoes! It is true, there is no breaking in period. They are so comfortable from the minute I put them on. I work 24 hour shifts, and Im on my feet for at least 12 to 16 of those 24 hours and my feet never get sore. These shoes are so worth the money. The size is true to fit. I havent tried the knife pocket but love that option. My husband plans to buy a pair too. He is in law enforcement. It flooded here last week and I had to wade through water over the toes and my feet never got wet, and the shoes show no signs of damage. Love these shoes! Ive only had them for about a month so I cant speak of the durability! They appear well made!

These are great boots and seem highly durable better than others shoes that didn't last more than 6 months using everyday. These aren't waterproof. Break in time for me took a while and I can't comfortably run in these shoes cause my toe hits the end even if the sizing is correct. But these are great work boots for standing in your feet all day and durable but not something to go rucksack in.

Worn these for over three months with 12 hour days and have no complaints. Its hard finding wide boots that dont feel too clunky, and these are great. Im a bigger guy and the cushioning in these thing are great even after long hours of foot patrol. I havent done a full spit shine on these, but they do clean up well after time in the mud with a little water and a kiwi express shine sponge. The pocket on the side is perfect for my Heron Knife on one side and a backup pen light on the other without being too obvious. I will definitely be getting a second pair!

It's a good boot for the first hundred-ish miles you walk in them, but they seem to wear a bit quicker than usual for 5.11 boots. Eventually the sole will peel from the boot and the waterproofing will be compromised, and that's something I had to learn the hard way.

I've been wearing ATAC boots for years. I am not a fan of the new 2.0 model, I feel they are less comfortable then the originals. The insoles are flat compared to the original inserts that had an arch. They dont look as nice either. I'm actually disappointed. Ive been in Law Enforcement for 15 years.This is the only boot Ive worn my entire career.I buy a new pair every two years as the soles eventually wear down. 8-16 hour shifts will do that to any boot.Waterproofed enough to get you through knee deep snow or ankle deep flooding. Im a nurse and am CONSTANTLY on the hunt for a quality shoe that will put up with 12 hour days, any number of bodily fluids/excretions, and can also provide the appropriate support and care that my delicate, yet masculine feet need.I began thinking about other professions that spent most of their days on their feet and many of those jobs involved some form of boot- so I broadened my search and discovered a page on Reddit written by a nurse who recommended these boots. I figured what the hell...Let me tell you that the moment I laced and zipped these bad boys up, my feet were instantly at ease. The Ortholite support insole is there (I trust that brand as Ive had them in shoes before) and the added strength to my ankles is great! The boots are NOT heavy. I dont feel like Frankenstein clunking around. Im able to squat/kneel down without any discomfort or lack of support, and if a bed happens to run into my foot, I dont feel a thing!Im sure plenty of people think this is a bit over the top for a boot review, but I seriously cant say enough good things about this pair! For those out there who work in their feet, you know what Im talking about. So I bought these because I had wanted a pair of boots just because. I bought these and I am amazed at the level of comfort, which is very important since Im basically flat-footed. I have bought a total of 3 pairs of these boots in my 10 years of EMS and will say they have had the most comfort and durability then any other boot I have purchased. They normally last me about 2-3 years of severe use. They've seen rain, mud, snow, ice, gravel, blood, poop, puke, and good ol' concrete and has still managed to survive. I only get a new pair from obvious ware from using them so much (NO boot is invincible). They are comfortable and leave room for insoles if you stand a lot. The side zipper keeps the warmth in and has never broken. All in all for what you pay and what you get it's a solid, well rounded boot.

I bought these back on 8/12/2019 and have only walked in them in an indoor setting. To begin with, these are incredibly comfortable right out of the box! I am on my feet for 12 hours a day and dont feel any aching. Although, in the 5 months of wear the leather has begun to crack at stress points towards the toe. This is somewhat frustrating considering that they havent been put through anything more than regular use. Maybe it is just a defective pair but that is my current experience.

These were my first pair and I got them in a size eight and they were still the most comfortable boot I have ever worn I currently wear a size 8 in women's but had to get a pair of combat boots quick so the men size 8 where the only in stock at the time and still showed up and showed out

This is different from previous reviews on here, but I'm a hairdresser. I bought these boots for the comfort and as a fashion statement. I work 8-10 hour days and on my feet alot. These are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever purchased. I never feel fatigued when I get home. Even my hair dresser friends like them and want to purchase these! I've gotten so many compliments. Not only are they built for comfort and outdoor performance but they are very cool and fashionable as well. Thank you 511 Tactical for creating such a sturdy and comfortable boot.

I bought these back in August, and immediately wore them the next day at work with no break in period. My feet didnt hurt one bit. I did have an issue where there was a defect and I called 5.11 and they told me to take them back to their store and that they would replace them after a couple months wearing them. I did that today. I showed them the spot and they handed me a new pair, no questions asked. Great boot and awesome company. Will be buying my duty belt next from 5.11.

I serve in the Military and these are head and shoulders beyond anything I have been issued, and I have deployed multiple times and served for more than a decade. The USG should really contract with you guys!

I am replacing a Pair of Rocky's that I have had for years. My Foot is now Larger than it was when I was young. I put on a pair of good boot socks, put these on, adjusted the laces with the zippers closed and wore them for about 3 hours (sitting, standing, walking...etc). They fit better than any boot I have worn since my Jungle boots issued to me for my vacation in sunny southeast Asia in 1969. If you need tactical boots, work boots, or hunting boots get a pair of these. Easy on and easy off.

So I didnt get to try these on at the store but the employee had nothing but good things to say about this boot. So I went ahead and ordered them online without trying them on and Ill have to say they are extremely comfortable and had them for a couple of days now and seemed like no break in period was needed. I stand for most of a 12 hr shift and my feet didnt hurt at all. I also walk thru rocky terrain at work and still comfortable. I will so be buying another pair when needed.

These puppies were so comfy I wore them out of the store!The side pockets (cash, knofe, etc) are a nice addition, and the construction looks to be very robust.Ill post a further review after a few weeks of wear.

This is my third pair of boots since 2013, but it's the first time I went with 5.11. I previously wore Bates boots, which were squeaky and didn't last nearly long enough. These boots, so far, have been highly durable, extremely comfortable, and high-quality. They can be a bit tight to get on, but they do have a pull tab in the back to assist in putting them on. Really competitive price for the material and quality, too. New favorite boot brand!

Ive worn Under Armor boots for almost two years on patrol. I finally got sick of them deteriorating day by day and went to my local 5.11 store. I tried on the new ATAC 2.0 and felt a difference in quality and comfort right away. They have a more snug fit but offer a better cushion for both walking and running. The build quality is night and day from my previous pairs. Also the price cant be beat. I will be buying these boots again.
