I recently ordered these boots for work, but the color tone is quite different from what I saw online. Consequently, I can’t provide any performance-related feedback. However, since they don’t comply with my department’s uniform regulations, I didn’t have the option to use them. Only thing you need to change is the length of the pull tab. Men have big fingers and it's hard to get your finger in the loop. Add an inch to it.

Great boot.nnI use these for daily chores, construction, stream fishing, and hiking.nnI'm replacing these after 3+/- years. They're exhausted and look pretty bad. A few seams have split out, and the toe rubber separated due to warming my toes with a bonfire.nnTwo complaints. nnA> The Velcro flap at the top of the zipper separates too often. Not long enough.nnB> And, the real PITA? The weather seal flap beneath the zipper peels on the surface, and the zippers snag on them and get stuck where you can't move them up or down. STUCK. I have to run a finger behind the zipper just to make them work. The zippers themselves are awesome, but not the backing seal flap beneath them. Each and every time I put them on or take them off I'm never sure if I'm going to end up fighting that ONE MORE TIME!! That would be the ONLY REASON I didn't want to buy another pair. I have literally gotten stuck in the boot when they jammed on the way down.nnBut I'd otherwise highly recommend these boots.

Ive worn this model of boot since 2012, I buy a new pair every year. I work and stand on concrete nine hours a day, many times carrying heavy loads. This boot is the only thing that keeps my lower back from hurting. I know it isnt perfect for everyone, but its perfect for me.

I just received my 5. 11 boots in the mail. Great boots, great fit. What I did not like is there was no hidden pocket for a knife.

I like these boots but they only ever seem to last me about a year. I'm not hard on my footwear, I work in an office all day, and I'm not a particularly outdoorsy person. So, I don't really understand why they keep falling apart on me. I'm on my third pair now and one of the soles is already detaching from the boot after owning them for less than 10 months. Another pair of these I owned only lasted 8 months.

Atac 2. 0 was great, flexible,easy to get on and off with the zip on the side and made it fast now to the down side after only 3 times of wearing them some how I had rips the outside leather of the boot rips will say even with the rip boot was extremely comfortable to the point where I have still wear them up till the point that I have replaced them. With all that said 5. 11 has my respect and will highly recommend to friends

These boots are great for my construction job. Had trouble finding boots after the military, but then found these. I do feel like they seem to not last as long as they use too. Also I wear out the laces before the boots go.

Atfer a near fatal incident I was left with numerous broken and shatter bones and joints on all limbs and r hip, had a couple holes in my rt flank and rt shoulder, it was not pleasant to say the least. However, when re learning to walk after many surgiers I realized how lucky I was that I had on good boots. I had a couple from the series but the desserts allowed me to walk again by using the pocket as a spint hold those boots learned with me how to walk again. They also offer the support an ankle needs but are flexible enough to allow for some swelling. That was 10 years ago. I'm not saying they are magical healing boots and I think they used to hold up a little better, however I personally use them as a tool everyday and have for years. Plus they never had to be cut off... seriously that's the worst when your boots have to cut off, so painful. Thank you to 5.11 for making a quality boot. Hopefully this new pair I'm about to receive will be as reliable as my former.

The A.T.A.C. Side zip, desert and coyote color are the only boots that I have worn for the past 12 years. Comfortable, wear well, and look nice. Can't go wrong with these boots.

My husband have a this style boot with out the zipper. He works as a mechanic in construction. Walk millions miles a day. The last 2 style have lasted a very long time "for him" 8-12 months. So he was in the hunt for new boots since he busted through the sides of his last pair. He use to wear slip on but likes the feel off tie ups. They keep his foot more Secure in the boot. So he decided to trys these. He still get his tie up and the zipper for easy on and off. After wearing them for a week or so he said they are his favorite boots so far. So we will take it as a win. We will see how long these last. He's very very hard on his boots.

I love these boots. I wear them every day. They're comfortable, supportive, and I like their look.nnThe problem is that they never seem to last me more than a year. And the thing is, I work in an office all day and I'm not an "outdoor type" so I'm not hard on my boots. I'm on my second pair now. My first pair lasted 12 months before one of the soles started separating from the upper part of the boot. 5.11 was gracious enough to send me a free replacement pair 8 months ago when the first pair failed and now the toe area is starting to fall apart on the second pair, with three visible holes that you can now see my socks through. I don't remember doing anything that would have put holes in the boots.nnI'm honestly not sure what I could do to keep these boots from failing. Like I said, I'm very easy going on my footwear.

This is my second pair. The first lasted me 4 years. One of the most comfortable boots Ive ever owned. The only thing it didnt survive was my puppy chewing the zipper clean off. If youre thinking about it, just buy em.

Good customer service. Normally I wear size 10 to 10 1/2 pending on brand of shoes. I order size 11 which was too small so I sent back for 11 1/2. I've only worn boots a couple of days surveying rough hilly terrain. Very comfortable. Shipping UPS Ground is slow 8 days so if you order wrong size it may take a total of 30 days + or -.

Had the first version of ATAC 8" for 7 years. Wear em every day...sometimes go hiking. Very dirty, hard to clean the suede (any suggestions?) But no rips, no tears, no separation...indestructible boot that is not bad looking. Even the soles have not worn out. Will get a new pair in 10 years when these wear out. NO BS

I love these boots I got them back towards the end of August there so comfortable and great to hike in. The stitching quality has a little to be desired though. I had a hole along the zipper where I can poke my ankle with my finger opened right up after some light wear. I only wore them on a few hikes and around town so it was a bit of a bummer when it happened. Boots are great though just check the quality when you get them.

When I find a pair of shoes or boots I like, I tend to stick with them. I've owned several pairs of these over the last few years and absolutely love them. I tend to be very picky on my boots and purchase different ones for different purposes. These are great for all around use and I tend to wear them even over sneakers on a daily basis. The lugs in the soles tend to pick up brass at the range but they're very grippy when hiking.

As the title says they run very small compared to most boots. I usually wear a 11.5 wide and got a 12 wide and after wearing them for an hour or so I could definitely tell they wouldn't work at all. But as far as the quality and design the boot looks good seems like it would hold up if I could wear them.

Tried many side zip tactical boots but keep going back to 5.11 2.0 Desert. Comfortable enough for all day at work and great for an afternoon hike. I have a narrow foot and these fit me perfectly. I recommend buying. I did, twice!

I wear these boots 95% of the time. Office, outside work, working out, shooting, hunting, etc... The only time I don't wear the boots is if I am doing an extended run or it is extremely wet following a big rain and I go hunting. Absolutely phenomenal for doing rope climbs if you are a Crossfit'r, great grip on the rope and no rope burns on the shins. nnThere was a recent change in these boots that made them even better for me personally. Previous boots would dig into my ankle bones and had an extended break in period in this area. I would have to take a rubber mallet to ankle area of the boot to help speed up the break in process. Changes to the boots now seem to have eliminated that. With that change came how they fit me size wise too, I now have to get a 1/2 size bigger, but no big deal at all. The ball of the foot area seems to be a hair wider too, this also is to my advantage. I don't have to get the wide sizes any longer. Previous D sizes were just a hair to narrow and I would get hot foot from time to time, the wide ones were just a hair to wide causing me to double up on socks, but current models seem to be just right.nnIMHO, they wear like boots but feel like workout shoes, very comfortable. Soles do wear out quicker than I'd like, but any change in that might result in a loss of comfort I'm seeking, so I'll role with it. nnNow any of the boots/shoes with the A/T soles in them, they are a strong no for me. Personally, I can't stand them, but again, that's just me personally. I'm sure there are those that like the A/T soles as much as I like the A.T.A.C. soles. nnIf I was still ride'n horses, I would throw my spurs on them and wear them in the saddle too. nnNow, if 5.11 would just put a breathable back on the RUSH backpacks. Anyone who has actually used this pack outside knows it's like putting a heating blanket on your back, no matter what the outside temperature is. nn$.02

By far the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Had this pair about a month and wear them almost daily. I bought the 8 inch dark coyote ARAT 2.0. Lightweight comfortable and I do lots of walking. Even has a spot to carry a knife.

This is my third set of ATAC's and this one sucks. The previous two were great but something inside of the boot on one side of the zipper stabs me in the calf. For some reason both boots have it but the left boot is much worse. One night of wear and my calf had been rubbed red and I managed to give my hand friction burn from constantly trying to pull my sock over the top of the boot to give me some relief. I ended up having to use a pair of nail clippers to cut off whatever was stabbing me just to make it wearable.

These are great boots if you're willing to replace them every year. I love the comfort of them, the thick soles, the ankle support, the zippered sides, etc. They're great looking, too.nnThe big problem, however, is that mine started falling apart within one year. I wear them every day. I work in an office and am not hard on my boots. No long hikes, no outdoor adventures, etc. Just the occasional motorcycle ride. One of the boots has almost completely separated from the sole and the other boot is starting to show signs of the same thing. They are basically at the point on not being wearable after one year of what I would call light use.

Lasted just short of 2 years, and thats wearing them almost everyday and in every kind of weather. They hold up well, pretty much no break-in period, and theyre super light, definitely good for warmer, moderately dry weather. Will buy again next year when winter is over. Thanks 5.11!

Man, these boots could write a book after my experiences with them. I have worked 10 hour days in construction and covered them in concrete, they cleaned up and no foot pain. Ive ridden a jet-ski, twice!, with them soaking wet, no cracked or busted leather. Played airsoft in the mud, rain, and snow and they did well to hold heat and keep out moisture. Only thing I could say bad is theyre not truly waterproof but they werent advertised to be so. Get these boots, factory insoles are great!

Had another pair of 5.11s the I wore for a year and held up great. So I purchased these. Wore them a total 7 days total before my vacation to Rome (so not even broken in yet). I walked 32 miles in Rome in 3 1/2 days in these. Feel hardly hurt. If I was wearing my Irish Setters or Danners, my feet would have been falling off. Very very comfortable. Very light. Think about 1.5lbs combined. Zipper seems solid. I haven't owned them long enough to see how they hold up, but if there are anything like my 5.11 medic boots they will last a good long time. 11/10 stars. I'm buying 5.11 from now on for my guys as company boots too.

Love these boots. They are multi-purpose for me. I just went on a short hike (they weren't even broken in) and they were great. No water penetration, no blisters, no slipping. Two of my friends are ordering them now.

This was the second pair I ordered. First pair was a size 9 and didn't fit exactly as I expected. I returned them with no issues and ordered a 9 1/2 . To my supprize the left foot is still a little tight. I will be keeping them but not sure why I have the issue.

Ive been using this type of boot for the last 5 years & have had pretty good luck with them. They are very comfortable, but the last 2 pairs have been complete trash. You might get 6 months out of them. The seams come unglued & the soles have chunks & pieces missing from the sides like somebody took a knife to them. Thats just from normal everyday wear. The earlier boots a few years back never did this & its a shame cause they were great. Poor quality at higher prices now. If I could post pics on here I would.

I have 2 pair and switch every other day. Feel great, good tread. Keep a work knife in the pocket and very handy at my job. Unfortunately the stitching on the upper will blow out around 9 months, and I'm on my 4th or 5th pair but I've tried many other boots and none are as comfortable or grip as well, so 4 stars.

This is probably my 10th pair of atac boots. I find as a work boot they wear faster than a "tougher" boot. But they make my feet feel great. I use these mainly for hunting now. I regularly put 10 miles a day in sc swamps after hogs. These things dry so fast I dont need muck boots. I just jump in the water and get wet.

This is the most comfortable boot that I have ever owned, and it offer great traction!nnTo start, I usually wear a standard width men's size 8 footwear or leather workbook.nnIn this style, I do wear a 8.5 wide. Use the size chart with proper foot measurements to determine if your foot remains your usual size!nnAs stated, this is the most comfortable & lightest boot I have worn! The side zipper is quality! It took a few lace adjustments to get the right fit and get the zipper to easily slide up & down and to offer the proper ankle and foot-arch support.nnThis review is after 9 months of use.nnThat said, I have found that the sole does get chewed up using these boots on more rugged terrain such rock surfaces from hiking.nnAlso, I have found these boots to feel "hot" contrary to their description. When I say hot, I am wearing these is Texas summer heat.nnA coworker has this same style boot, and he experienced the same heat. We both admit, though, our footwear never developed boot stink after long hours and daily wear!nnBecause of the the boots wearing hot, we bought style 12438 based on their description. We agree that this style wears much cooler. However, we found this boot to feel less comfortable around the top of the ankle because it has no/little padding compared to ATAC 12393. Absolutely the best duty boot I've ever owned. They look good, they're very comfortable, and the side zip is a must have. My job requires a lot of walking and I'm able to get two years of service from these boots before they start breaking down. I highly recommend them and I also recommend spraying them liberally with a silicone sealant and allowing to dry before you even put them on. It protects the leather and keeps them clean for a long time.

Very comfortable and seem very rugged. Took a few days to break in. At first, I was worried that they wouldn't fit, but they became very comfortable after a few days. The side zipper is a great feature. They seem to get blemishes on them very easily. I wonder how they will look in the long run.

I love these boots! I bought them in preparation for vacation involving lots of walking and hiking. These bad boys did not disappoint. I wore them 10-12 hours a day, no problem! The only time they got slightly uncomfortable was on their airplane when my legs swelled up a bit. I simply unzipped the sides and all was right with the world.nnI compelely forgot these boots are water resistant too. I was walking through 3inch deep water expecting to come out of it with soggy socks. It wasn't until 20 minutes later that I noticed I never felt a drop of that water. Good quality boots but the soles don't last as long as I would expect. I've gotten about a year of normal to light walking on cement before loosing about half the tread and chunks of the sole coming off. Upper is still in excellent condition however and overall these boots are better quality than other brands at a similar price.

I like these boots, but the pull ring is absolutely useless. I can't even get the tip of my pinky finger in to pull them on. Even unzipped, and laces loosened is a struggle. Definately will NOT buy again.

The price was great, the fit was even better. Side zip boots have always been a favorite of mine. They eliminate the struggle of pulling boots on and getting your foot nestled in there. The soles give a nice tread to your step and are comfortable to run in. Breathable too, which is crucial in the Great Basin summers. For 120 bucks, I doubt you'll find a better quality boot of this type!

Pros: Breaking these boots in is effortless, the heel is stiff and supportive, zipper is flush and easy to use, no grommets along the ankle providing pain-free wear, the soles are exceptionally supportive, comfortable, and form fitting, and treads are deep and provide excellent traction in most conditions.nnCons: Laces sit just behind the toe knuckles- so tying laces tight creates a horrible pinch point, the heel is stiff- creating a friction point when pulling on and pulling off, the size seems a little underwhelming- I got a wide and my foot still feels cramped, and debating if a half size larger would give me more room.nnAll in all, after a month, I'm still pleased with these boots, and would absolutely buy another pair. Incredibly comfortable, extremely supportive, perfect for a long day of wear!

Comfortable all around. Zipper is a nice addition. Expect to spend a few days breaking the boots in before you can easily get your foot in and out with just the zipper, without having to tie/untie them. Rubbed my left ankle a little rough but loosening the lace around the ankle solved the problem for me. Spent several days in them now and they feel great. Lightweight, easy to move in.

We live in the high desert in Arizona. It is mostly dirt, tumbleweed, and wild flowers. I have 3 pairs of these boots. One in the 6" height and 2 in the 8" height. I love them and wear them everyday. I use an insert as I have arch problems, but these boots are very comfortable and durable. I wasn't sure about the zippers when I ordered the first pair, but they make it easy to put on and take off the boots to keep from tracking dirt into the house. Please don't stop selling these boots!!!

I love this boot, it has a pocket on the outside heel on each side where you can store a knife. It is a true tactical boot. I also believe it has a puncture-resistant sole and it is waterproof. I sprayed it with silicone spray as it has the suede look. I just wish it was also a steel toe.

This is the second pair of A.T.A.C. side zip boots I own. The first pair I bought about 7 years ago and they are still in great shape. I do not wear them every day but probably 4 days a week and they are showing very little wear and are the most comfortable boots I own. I ordered this pair only because they are the darker color. They are so light weight that I feel like I'm wearing my bedroom slippers! The best boots you can buy in my opinion!

Love the boots. Very comfortable. Would love to see 72" laces used instead of 60". My legs are big enough that 60" strings are too short. I also wished they held up a little better. This is my 2nd pair and like I said, they are very comfortable. They just don't seem to hold up as well as some of the other boots.

60 days is all it took to fall apart. When I first ordered them I worried that they would make my feet sweat but they did not. They were very comfortable right from the get go. They look and felt great but I was very disappointed the very first I stepped in a puddle that was less than an inch deep. My foot and sock were completely soaked instantly. The water wicked all the way up and around the boot like a sponge. 60 days and the side blew out leaving a 3" hole. Replaced them and tossed them in the trash.

I've owned the 1st get boots and wore the crap out of them until my dog chewed up the inside cuff for the zipper so they wouldn't hold... It was a good excuse to buy the latest model and they are even better. I eventually cut holes and sewed up the originals with 550 cord and use them as a back up. P.S. order a half size up if you intend on doing any running and real work in them.

Had mixed results with 5.11 footwear the station boots are garbage lasted me about three months working EMS , but that said these boots Sean to be very good. They are comfortable fit nicely and give good support just like their predecessors which lasted 3 years ( the old ones where a different model but same style) I have a lot of 5.11 gear generally its good stuff .

Im on my third pair of these boots. I started with the original atac boots, then moved up to these. I wear them everyday at work and usually on weekends unless Im wearing shorts. I do plumbing and boiler work, so Im always doing stairs, ladders, crawl spaces and other harsh environments with these boots. I havent ripped or broken a zipper or blown out a pair of these like I had before with other side zip boots. Only reason I needed new ones was because of all the miles I put on, I wore the tread down so far on the soles to where it would start to slip, and thats dangerous to me at work. I still have the older pairs in the truck in case I need to have a clean pair. I would recommend these to anyone, they work as hard as I do!

No break-in period. Personally have issues with boots wearing at my legs while in them all day. These boots fit great and my feet feel like Ive worn tennis shoes all day. Awesome arch support, didnt think I would like the dark desert but I was surprised in person how good they look. The sidezip is super convenient if your in and out of your boot constantly.

Huge fan of these boots. Bought after Texas' February freeze when I realized how annoyed I was lacing my other boots every time I needed to get outside. Excellent comfort out of the box, perfect traction, and only a 5 second time commitment to get them on and snug. With the side zip, I have the laces in a square knot at the top and haven't had to fiddle in a long while. Only a few hundred miles into these but everything is holding up perfectly.

Purchased these boots in April 2021, wore three days before the sides of both boots were completely ripped and unusable. The leather in the toe area is paper thin. Contacted the 511 store in my area for a replacement pair two weeks ago and have yet to hear back from them.

I had a pair of the 6 and really liked them. I pretty much wore them all the time. After 10 months they developed a hole just above the sole on the outside edge of the right boot. I was really hoping that it was something I did, but now that I purchased the 8 I feel that spot will always be a weak point for these boots. Especially if you work in them.

I have had a few different kind of boots over the years, and 4 years ago I decided to give the 5.11 ATAC boots a shot, and I still wear mine to this day. They are very durable, as I have worn them in rain, snow, deep mud, deep water, climb up and jump down off of things for work in them, and my current pair are still going strong. The rear wall, where your heel would rub slightly, has worn out over the years and the velcro has come a but loose, but overall no blowouts (I have very wide feet) which is usually an issue for me in almost any shoe, lots of toe room and extremely comfortable. The only reason i'm buying another pair now is to have a nice pair again while I continue to beat on my old pair for work. Definitely check the sizing though as it is a bit different, but the quality for the price is incredible. Needless to say I have become a bit of a 5.11 fanboy when it comes to boots. Can't recommend enough.

Quick review - I could sleep in these boots they are so comfortable, price is amazing for what you get, you will never want to tie boots again with this zipper.I have been wearing these just about daily for a year now and they are by far the most comfortable boots Ive owned, Im not kidding when I say I could sleep in them. I own a commercial cleaning business and I spend lots of time climbing stairs in commercial buildings along with time outside climbing ladders for sometimes 10-12 hours and they are comfortable all day. My favorite part about these boots besides the comfort is actually the zipper, I get compliments on this feature all the time. They are super fast to take off and put back on and i've found they dry out overnight easily and don't stink because the whole side is open to the air at night unlike most boots i've had.The only Con I feel is that they don't come in a darker brown.

when i was in the air force my issued boots were all 10.5 and wore them for work once i got out of the military. a couple years ago i needed new work boots and got some tony lamas in size 11 so i ordered these in a 11 also, my toes are pressed against the front of the boot. in running shoes i where a 14 in nike and 13 in other brands. i will be returning these boots and getting a bigger size. giving 3 stars since i cant really doing anything but look at them for the time being. will try to update once i get a bigger size

SIZING, let me see if I can help anyone trying to buy online. My issued Military boots were an 11 narrow. My issued military shoes were 12.5 narrow. I wear Brooks Ghost running shoes in a 12.5 regular. I ordered this boot in a 13 regular. The length is just perfect. The insoles I use in my Brooks shoes fit perfect in this boot. The regular does run a little narrow. For me that was perfect. Not as narrow as an actual "N" boot. Still the fit was nice and tight for me. I have not tested the quality and durability of the boots yet. I will over the coming months. I only gave it a 4 star because I have not really tested the boot yet. Snugs up nicely. Big toe box for me.

And let me say that this is by far the most comfy cushiony boots I have ever bought! Hands down! I bought size 11 Wide & OMG dude...when I put them on? It was like....Aaaaahhhh!!!! Lord knows in my 20yrs (79-99) in the Navy, Ive went thru lotsa boots & so called boondockers Especially with the required steel toe! Oh boy! Anyway, this ATAC 2.0 8 in Dark Desert Coyote with side zip & pocket for your EDC knife is just plain perfect for my aching old feet! It just felt right to my 60yr old feet, lol! I stepped into my 5.11 store on Tualatin looking for a new boot. Put these on and didn't want anything else. I was concerned because of the sizing since I normally wear 12 but when I out these on, they're slightly big but comfortable. I was thinking of getting an 11.5 but considering that after thicker socks and after a days worth of backpacking I'll be happy I had the space. No hot spots or anything. I can easily add an insert if needed. Will buy again!

So just got mine in an noticed right off they are lite and comes with pocket knife area and hardly need breaking in love them

Ive worn them for a while now and I LOVE them. They fit like a glove and the zippers make on and off lighting fast. These are easily the perfect boots for staying on your feet all day. I have a lower and upper back issue and super flat feet... but I dont even need insoles in these things they are so comfy.

Got these boots to replace my old issued summer Mk4s that bursted at the soles. I tried on the Swats, Altama, Rocky's, and even the 5.11 Speed 3.0 and all of them either fit weird, had some pressure points, or felt cheap. The ATACs are head above shoulders over the rest and probably the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn. I wear them in and out of uniform because they are that comfortable and offer awesome support. The side zip works great. I'm usually a 9.5 to 10.5 depending on the brand, and I got these in a 10 and fit well.

I wear the black version of this for work, and are so comfortable I got this version to wear off the clock. I wouldnt use these for hiking per se, but are good for outdoor and indoor range use, and just for general use too. If you live in a drier climate, Go for these! Theyre built for the heat.

These boots are very comfortable. They provide good support on my ankles and keep my feet secured. I used them almost everyday, especially when I go to the shooting range.

This is only my 2nd review ever as I usually don't post but I had to about these boots. These are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, even better than cross trainer shoes. Although I only had these (and worn them) for a few days, I do not want to wear anything else. My heel does not slip and my feet are secure and do not slide. They are light, comfortable and flex well. I would like a little more padding in the heel but I can fix this with an insert and so far it is not a problem. The only cons I have are: (for me) they don't keep my feet cool even with light socks and they tend to run small in size. I usually wear 10 to 10.5 (depending on manufacturer) and these I had to get in 11's. Also, I usually go with a wide shoe/boot and these fit very well in Regular width. I have already been recommending to friends and family. I am going to order a second pair!

Love the boots. First time wearing these types of boots. For comfortable especially for my flat feet. Keeps my ankles stable too. Worth the money.

These boots are the bees knees! The side zipper is really convenient and who doesnt love a boot knife pocket! Really comfortable insoles. The tread on the bottom is grippy but I also love the wide channels in the tread, allowing for easy mud release.

This boot is the bomb. I put these on my feet prefect fit. Good support, cool & everything I want in boot. True to size. The customer service folks need to know there products. I called twice asked about this boot. Couldn't answer my basic question on the boot. Took a gamble bought the boots. Great boot would buy it again.

No these very comfy boots do not comply with "AR600-9 The Army Body Composition Program" Nor do they comply with AR670-1 which is the uniform regs, but of course nobody ever claimed they did.

This is a great boot, but I can not wear for duty as this boot does not comply with AR 600-9.

I'm outside all day long, typically walking 6 miles per day, in the Florida heat. Been using the 511 boots for about 10 years now and I burn through about 2 pairs a year. Very lightweight, comfortable, and just enough flex to get the job done. My feet have never been sore and they dry out relatively quickly when they get saturated from being in the rain all day. I could probably keep wearing the same pair for a year but I find the insoles break down from so much use yet the outside of the boots are just fine. Regardless, it's worth it and you can't go wrong.
