Good overall duty boot

Fits great and the foot support is excellent. Break in time did not take very long. Would buy these again.

Great boots but....

These boots are very good. Comfortable and very light. They look good too. One big issue is the laces!! They lossen often. I've two other pairs of 511 boots which had sausage laces. I can honestly say that thos laces did not loosen or become undone. Not even once in the years I wore them. These boots need better laces. Thats why it gave it a 3 start rating. I fond the laces that bad!

Soles of boot

I love how the boots look, but for me I have a list of cons. I purchased size 7 wide E but they still lean more on the narrow side. Although I have small feet I find wide footwear a lot more comfortable and soothing for my feet, especially having to wear them for 12+ hours. Another thing that was surprising was the soles of the boots were not sowed or attached to the boot compared to other boots. When I pulled out the soles (2 stacked on each other for unknown reasons) they were of poor quality. For boots that leans on the pricey side this was disappointing and unusual. Lastly the boots are extremely firm making them difficult to break in and painful. To sum it all up: too narrow even with the wide option, detached poor quality soles, pricey, and painful to break in. I wanted to love these boots since I have been on the hunt for some new ones due to my usual pair being discontinued (have had them for 5+ years and have stood the test of time. The two things I like are how they look and the ankle support/protection.
