Excellent shirt. At first glance it looks like you only have two pockets. Behind each of those pockets is another pocket that is perfect for holding documents if you need your hands free. The fabric is heavy which makes it ideal for cool climates.

I really like these shirts and we've been using them as a cover shirt when we don't wear our battle shirts for our SWAT team. The chest pockets should be made deeper to accommodate modern cell phones. Even though there are the bigger chest pockets under the smaller pockets, those are too big and your phone sloshes around and tends to get condensation on it since it's even closer to your body.

Great shirt for my current contract. Tough, durable shirt. I wash it everyday and it shows no signs of wear. Also dries in about 10 minutes when Im in a rush. The design with the ready pocket is a God send, as I house several essential items in them that need to be readily available. Excellent Shirt. Dont change a thing!!!

I ordered these online via the AAFES/5.11 portal, so unless you can verify those purchases with this account this won't show up as a Verified Buyer.I use them as a uniform option but will use them as needed with civilian clothes.Things that are great:- They seem to be made out of titanium because they are incredibly durable.- Have no problem rolling the sleeves using the Marine method or modified Army method.Things that aren't so great:- I've mentioned this before in other product reviews, but the buttons are upside down and will explain why they easily come off. The buttons you use are not the tried and true BDU buttons but epaulette and throat closure buttons used on government issue raincoats, jackets, and Navy Coverall Uniform. If properly attached, right side up, the button is designed with a ridge to put the thread attaching the button to the shirt below the surface of the button and giving it protection from abrasion. The BDU buttons have a recess in the middle and are the same on both sides so you can't attach those upside down. Suggestion would be to use BDU buttons or attach these buttons right side up. Due to personal preference and a more professional appearance I replaced all buttons with BDU buttons.- The regular pockets are not deep enough to hold zipper notebook without the flap not closing nor do they expand enough. Suggestion would be to make them deeper and put more bellows in the side so they'll be beefier.Other than that, I strongly recommend these shirts to anyone who needs durable uniforms.

Are you kidding me? I purchased Tac Lite shirts and the buttons are either loose or falling off literally before I wear it! Didn't even make it through one washing! Found button in bottom of washer. Guess I will be sewing them to either replace or reinforce. I called Customer Service and they said this was the first time anyone had complained about this.

We use these shirts during search warrant operations. Unfortunately the shirts do not come in mil spec sizes like the pants do, so they tend to not fit everyone well in the body. The shirts can be really baggy. If you spend all day in the gym it probably wont be an issue for you.

Though I said too big in the chest, only slightly as I need a large for length but have a medium for chest size. Used for training, going into the woods, or just wearing around. I would tell anyone looking for a good TDU that this is what you want.

I use this shirt for work. I really like the bi-swing shoulders. I move my arms around alot and it doesn't pull around my neck or pull my shirt up. The only bad thing is the last person I talked to at 511 told me they are discontinueing the tall size, so I thought I had the perfect company to deal with and now I have to find somewhere else to shop.

I wear this to work at a warehouse, very durable, love the sewing of the cuffs to the elbow, its genius the way its reinforced, also great pockets and pleats on the shoulders which is the norm with army and marine combat uniforms. Full range of motion, I am so pleased with this product.

The 5.11 TDU holds up very well under very tough field conditions. I am a K-9 Handler for a Search and Resuce team and spend many hours in the field. The fabric takes abuse from brush, mud, rain, my dog, barbed wire and holds up against ropes and other gear. I only wish the TDU shirts came was a zippered front with velcro cover wind flaps, pockets on the upper arms and an Mandarin collar with velcro cover flap.The traditional pockets in the TDU pants have been enhanced by the back up belt system and have pockets within pocket which work great for last minute small gear.The TDU pants waistline can also expand when you need to dress in layers which has proven to be quite comfortable.The shirt and pants also have removeable pads for elbows and knees which are nice.

For patrol and transport this item has lots of storage. Turns broken glass and bites well, liquids and blood do not absorb vary fast.

I found the hidden document compartments are sturdy enough to use for concealed carry; my Glock 23 fits inside very well, and does not show that I am carrying anything. I attribute this to the toughness of the fabric, and the size and means of buttoning the shirt. Excellent product.

As a Remote Paramedic I need uniforms I can count on that will last. I've used these shirts shirts for over a year. I just recently purchased 2 news ones due to decreasing in size. My old ones look just like new.

Good All around shirt, bit heavy, but the padding make up for it if you ever jam your elbow into anything. The pockets are great as usual, own a couple of these, use them for range time and sometimes when I'm out doing normal stuff. Color seems to stay even after repeated washes. Would recommend.

I was issued a few 5.11 Tactical Series uniform sets for duty. I was so impressed with the quality I went out and purchased several more TDU uniform sets for various off duty uses. IE; Hunting, range, andhiking/camping.The most impressive part of the TDU uniform is its overall utility. The TDU features more than enough pockets, excellent stitching and some seriously strong fabric. I'd be extremely pleased if/when they start making these in kids sizes, my son is always bugging me about getting him the "big boy" uniforms.

Tough, well made, well constructed, well thought out. "Secret chest pockets" open intuitivly and close quickly. y shirt came with elbow pads too. Nice touch. As long as you are moving you will not overheat. Driving back from the jobsite with the wind up your arm goes all through the shirt cooling you down fast. Stand still too long and you might overheat.

The TDU shirt will stay looking sharp even after a day training at the range or a night on the streets. Unlike the regular BDU shirts that will wrinkle up and the shirt pockets all bellowed out, this shirt always maintains a professional appearance. The first time your experience having the elbow pads in when you jump to a prone position you will wonder how you got along without them. No more stopping and putting on your pads that will eventually slip down anyway.

I wear my TDU uniforms every day on patrol simply because they are designed for functionality. The hidden chest pocket is perfect for a small notebook, spare car key, and my backup mini flash light. The pants storage is equally as valuable. Have both summer and winter sets. Slightly pricey, but willing to pay it. Suggestion: Longer length to help stay tucked in!!!

I bought one of these shirts as an addition to the TDU pants. I love the elbow pads being built in. I have noticed a color fading issue and some stiffness, but the shirt is holding up well.

I am a true believer in 5.11 products that is all I use from my duty uniform to my tactical uniform, which I have worked hard and never come up nothing less than satisfied! From all the features like bi swing arms,large concealed pockets, excellent heat management system.concealed elbow and knee pads that actually work. Nothing else comes close. THANKS 5.11

Waiting on a taclight TDU shirt. 5.11 says it won't be available untill 2011? It is in the "development stage" Can't they just use the TDU template?Gotta spend a the next summer cooking in the heavier original TDU shirt.

I got this BDU shirt for work. Since they only come in s,m,l,xl, I had to get one that fir like a hefty bag. After I wore it for a day I realized the material doesn't stretch, and the sleeves weren't long enough. I'm wondering if the twill version will have some stretch to the material.

Our SWAT team recently purchased the 5.11 TDU in two colors for each member of the team. We were unable to get the digicam color TDU shirt in XL Long. The sleeves on the XL Regular are too short and the XXL fits like a tent.If 5.11 wants to continue to be "The choice of federal, state, and local law enforcement", they need to realize the obvious...that law enforcement, especially SWAT teams, attract larger framed people, who need large clothing.It's going to be a cold winter in the Midwest with my sleeves rolled up cause they don't reach my wrists.
