These are quality pants, but I do NOT like the changes to the zipper and snap. Switching sides and narrower, zipper are a pain. The added button to compensate for the changes makes it even more frustrating.
RaspundeIvette Y.,
This pants are great the only problem the wear out from inside the legs the old ones used to last longer but this new ones didnt last even a year.. or maybe they can sell a patch we can put back on it.
RaspundeK G.,
I love ALMOST everything about these pants. Theyre comfortable, they stretch and are breathable, except for the fact that the thigh area wears out way too quickly. Thats the only part of the pants that gets destroyed. I wear these for work and they cost too much (when not on sale) to have to keep purchasing just for the thigh area. Unfortunately I havent found better yet. Literally if the thigh area last as long as the rest of the pants, they would be 5 stars hands down.
RaspundeDivina L.,
Shipping was longer than expected as I normally get mail from the mainland within 2 weeks. The length of the pants was a little long for me, I wish there was a petite or short option. Overall, great quality.
RaspundeJacquelyn,
I love these pants so much, I just wish that for women there was a pair of pants that was thicker or reinforced in the area between the thighs. My pants never wear out at the knees or the belt loops, which I love. But they do wear out where my thighs rub together. And I wish there was a pair that accounted for the fact that women are sometimes built differently
RaspundeMK,
I, too, had the experience of the closure being the opposite direction of ALL my other pants. I need to be able to get dressed very quickly. These pants are not conducive to that need. I hope that this "redesign" is not trickling to all of the other 5.11 pants.
RaspundeCheryl M.,
The product was perfect until the manufacture changed the side of of the waist button.
Raspundealyssa c.,
True to size, love the drawstring on the bottom of the pants, Im short so I can just them up the length I prefer
Raspundejaime l.,
I have previously purchased numerous pairs of these womens TDU cargo pants and loved them all. On this order, I purchased two pairsone black and one navy blue. I love the navy blue ones as they are just like all my others. However, I am not happy with the black ones as, for some reason, they have the snap/button closure on the opposite side, requiring retraining of more than 20 years of muscle memory for just this one pair of pants. I thought that they may be defective, but when I contacted the company, they said that this is the new design. This change was not noted anywhere in the online summary. Weird that I ordered and received both pairs at the same time but they are opposite as to placement of the snap closure . . .
RaspundeKaren F.,
Sizing is always problematical. I have to same 3 pair of pants purchased over the course of the last 18 months. No two fit the same, the rise varies, the waist, the leg width all differ.
RaspundeJessie B.,
Comfortable fit not to tight enough wiggle room to swat and bend over if needed not constricting and they wash easily
RaspundeSusanna E.,
Great quality. It has a stretchy front. Look professional on the job pants!
RaspundeJoeverne W.,
After having issues with my first order I ordered a second because of the quality. I can tell that they paid attention and my order was shipped quickly and the pants was of great quality the fit was on point. Please pay attention to size as they run big. I weigh 153 would normally wear a 14 but had to go down to a 10.
RaspundeStacey B.,
Solid construction & comfort. Built in belt is great. No shortage of pockets. Blousing at ankle! Great purchase!
RaspundeBrittany F.,
Ended up being too big. I thought about getting a smaller size but the material seemed heavier than I wanted. Nice pants but just not what i was looking for.
RaspundeNeli J.,
I can already tell these pants are going to last me a very long time. I really like how they fit me not loose or not tight.
RaspundeJackie G.,
I sent the package back July 22 and still have not received a refund. I love love 511 pants. Thats all I wear to work. But they have changed the designs. I bought the same pants and they didn't fit. Now I've been waiting for a refund. It said 10 days it's been 19
RaspundeJessika H.,
I got two different kinds of tactical pants knowing the complaints the pants were to long in the legs. I got them anyway and I was disappointed and returned them both.
RaspundeCANDELARIA Z.,
These have nice big pockets and a higher rise. I dont like the finish on the pants as it sounds like I am wearing snow pants. In my work setting, they give my location away. They are more true to size than the Strykes which now I have an extra pair of these cause ordered a size up like I do with strykes.
RaspundeLauren B.,
Recently was welcomed to the world of first responders and these pants work great for the job
RaspundeJulie K.,
These fit really well for the most part except for the length. Way too long for my 5'1" frame. Also, too wide in the legs maybe because they were too long. I also did not like the material. It was too stiff. Maybe, they would've been better after being washed. I usually wear the Stryke style but they were sold out so I tried this style. I ended up returning them.
RaspundeSamantha W.,
Exactly what I was looking for, and a great fit!! Definitely matched what was described online.
RaspundeKim,
I bought four pair of pants, this pair fits me the best. The leg strap/ties make the pants look even better. The stomach isn't too tight, like all the other pants. Super comfy
RaspundeMary,
These pants in a lite version would pretty much be the perfect pant. The other complaint besides the weight of the pants is the back of the waist gapping a bit but it's not too bad cuz at least they're not squeezing me. The tunnel waistband is much better than the action waistband. Overall I'm pleased with these
RaspundeCel,
I have been using these pants for the last nine months and so far am happy with them. I have them in black, and have noticed that they do fade a little at the seams with each wash. But they're durable and I love that they're a bit water resistant. I'm 5'4" and approx 130lb and the size 4 fits me well. The waist sits right above my hip bones, which is a little uncomfortable when I wear a duty belt. Otherwise, the fit is very comfortable.
RaspundeCel,
When I these came in, I realized they're the wrong material for my uniform and I can't wear them. I'm very disappointed, since they're wildly comfortable! I'm 5'4" and 130lb and the size 6 fits me perfectly. I only gave them 4 out of 5 stars because I have to return them and won't be able to test their durability. But what I've seen of them has been good.
RaspundeJane,
These are a great approved alternative to our ill-fitting issued uniform pant - great for every-day operations and training. The navy color matches seamlessly with our agency's uniform. They are durable and hold their color and integrity in the laundry, and I appreciate the inner sections in the cargo pockets. My only gripe is that the inseam is rather short - I am not a tall woman, only 5'6", and I should have ordered the "tall" length. With the regular length, my entire boot shows when I sit and they kind of look like flood pants. The waist is forgiving - the same size has fit me give or take 5-10lbs. Note that they do sit lower on the waist/hips - I prefer this, some people don't.
RaspundeAnonymous,
I wear these pants almost every day as a primary instructor at our Training Division/Academy. I also choose this version of the 5.11 as a SWAT operator (as soon as they came out) even though my department issues us a couple pair of tactical pants every year or so (bulk ordered and made for men). Between actual operations and training, I have run, jumped, crawled and climbed just about every type of obstacle imaginable in 14 years on SWAT. As a DT trainer for the Academy, I perform everything we expect the recruits do, and these pants hold up great. I have had absolutely no issues with the waist or crotch being too big, too tight or too restrictive; these are very comfortable pants.
RaspundeScout,
I love the fact that the pants fit. I hate the extra baggage of the mens pants. I also like that they ride on my hips. More confort with my duty belt. I am a K9 Officer and movement is also great in these new pants. I love the fit!!!
RaspundeLauren,
My Police Dept. decided to go with these TDU pants for everyday wear. My issue was that because women wear their duty belts above their waist, these pants sit lower on the hips. My duty belt now digs into my hips making it an uncomfortable fit. The pants are fine if you wear them without the duty belt. I also tried on the same pants in a mens XS. Interestingly enough, the rise was higher thus allowing the belt to fit comfortably however; they were then to tight in the hips. My suggestion is to get the mens size TDU and have them altered if at all possible.
RaspundeBarbie,
delivery was one time, and was updated regularly on state of delivery by fed ex
RaspundeJp,
My husband was teasing me because my BDU's were in such bad condition, so I set upon finding some replacement pairs. I must have ordered 50 different pairs (or more) from various companies all designed for women. I am lean but oddly enough really curvy and it's hard to find pants that fit without gapping. These TDU's were the only ones that fit right and the added bonuses: they look great and come out of the dryer ready to wear! My only criticism is that I wish they came in more colors, i.e. khaki at least.
RaspundeNorthern,
Just finished placing my order for 2 more pairs. Just saw a negative review in regards to the pants and the other reviewers not having to wear a duty belt. Well, I previously reviewed these pants and gave it a good rating and yes, I do wear a duty belt that is full - gun, mag pouch, baton, OC, radio etc and they still fit awesome for me. Like everything else women are all different shapes and clothes will fit different but just to make a point they can work for ladies that have to wear a duty belt. I'm 5'6 order a size 12 regular and they fit me great. Can't be happier and find them so good that I'm willing to pay out of pocket to get them in preference to my issued cargo pants. Maybe they don't work for someone that is 5'5 and size 2 but I guess they work just fine for us "hippier" ladies.
RaspundeR1367,
I really like the pants...the lower half fits well and gives alot of mobility even with a duty belt on. I work in the backcountry doing LE and I needed a rugged pair of pants and they so far have fit the bill.MAJOR CON is that I had to buy one size up from my regular sized pants to get them to fit my hips. And the larger size waist is WAY to big. I had to cut the elastic and sew over the edges to make the waist fit and shrink it down about 4 + inches. I like 5.11 pants but I dont think I will be buying any more until they make a pant that fits women that have curves. it seems to me that the pant styles are for girls with no hips.
RaspundeKmoose96,
Great for hiking, geocaching, birding and dog training. The pockets are useful for carrying bird books, dog training supplies and treats plus they look nice, too.
RaspundeThe E.,
I am short, and I have a short waist line. These pants are perfect for short waisted woman, Which most woman are. I wear my pants at my hips, not up by my belly button. Thank you so much for the great product and fit. I love the expandable waist band, very comfortable. Cant wait to check out the shorts.
RaspundeLittleitaly112,
Love that I can finally buy a pair of tac pants that actually fit the way I like to wear my pants...more around the hips than waist. These are great. I just wish they offered a short rise. Seems odd that you can get short in men's and not women's. Otherwise, great product.
RaspundeDiva,
I love these pants although I should have ordered them in long. I love that I don't have saggy butt in them like the guys pants give me. I use my pants for swat operations and love the comfort that they give me. I love that the waist band has movement as well. I just wish they came in different colors. Digital Camo (hint hint)
RaspundeMedicgirl,
I am a Paramedic and have been for 17 years. These are the first pair of pants I have found that are functional and COMFORTABLE for WOMEN! I've often had to wear men's pants because I didn't want my pants around my rib cage. These are extremely comfortable to wear year-round. Although they are not EMS pants, they are functional enough to be EMS pants. I love the "pockets inside the pocket". Definitely worth the money.
RaspundeSparky,
I wear the TDU uniform as my everyday uniform and love it for the most part. However, I have to wear a men's pant in OD green because the women's doesn't come in that color. If I could get the women's pant in OD I would be 100% satisfied.
RaspundeNutt,
I love these pants. They are super comfortable and fit perfectly.
RaspundeVirgomermaid,
probably one of the best tactical pants on the market as of now...
RaspundeRoskvape,
I have been buying these pants for years. The first pair I bought about seven or eight years ago, and they are just now wearing out to the point I'm considering not wearing them to the office. I have something like seven pairs at this point, and I pretty much don't wear anything else. That said, 5.11 keeps changing them:-The original pants were perfect.-The next generation changed the pocket dividers, making it harder to carry concealed. They also came with much longer and bulkier blousing straps, but those could be cut off.-The most recent generation (end of 2012), in addition to the last features changes I didn't like, made the last three pairs of pants unwearable for me. The waistband is bulky and stiff, and much looser. it is at least 2-3 inches bigger around on all three pairs, even though I ordered the same size as always (small, 27.5"-31"). I usually wear a belt to cinch things snug, but the waist band is so stiff, that is impossible without leaving the snap undone.I am selling these pants to someone who wears the next size up. I'm going to try the XS, but if those don't fit, I'll have to find another brand.I've tried the women's versions, since I am female, but those only come in ripstop, which I have a pair of and don't like. The twill is an awesome material . . . why isn't it available for women's TDU?I wish 5.11 would bring the old design back.
RaspundeK N.,
I have been wearing the men's TDU pants and WOW what a difference in the women's!! I have to hike or run through woods and climb over and under vehicles behind an 80 lb dog--I NEED comfort and the fit on the women's version is much better than the men's. THANK YOU, for finally thinking of us females.
RaspundeEm,
These pants are amazing. They are super comfy. I like how they come in longs. The Men's version were just to baggy. I like how these sit on my hips like a pair of jeans and not up at my belly button. I'm a police explorer and most of us wear these for our competitions because they don't make you hot and sweaty and they are easy to move in. But they make they are perfect for when it's cold and raining. They keep you warm and repel water.
RaspundeMaria,
I wear these every day I work. Don't understand why there is no additional light color???? They need to make the knee pad opening on the top vs the bottom where there is a tendency for the pads to start slipping out.
RaspundeAshley C.,
I'm training in the police explorers and need a great pair of tactical pants that moves with me and has plenty of pockets for the gear I need to carry and these pants are perfect. The double stitching and added wear protection around the rear and knees is something to get used to but wear very comfortably once you wear them a few times. Rain beads off, doesn't really wrinkle.
RaspundeSandi,
I wear these pants for my security job that is outside by the water where it can be warm during the day but very cold and breezy at night. The pockets are great and the waist band is very comfortable.
RaspundeEmt S.,
I bought these pants for my clinicals for EMT-B and I love them! I didnt know how well they would fit, but they fit perfectly. The only complaint I have about these pants is that they collect lint like no other!
RaspundeNorthern,
These pants are much superior to our issued cargo pants that wear and fade terribly and the crotch and seat hang to the my knees. They are great for the firearm training with the optional knee pads as well as for protection of knees when searching. True to size and great fit and length. Would highly recommend for anyone considering buying their own tactical/range pants.
RaspundeBike G.,
These pants are wonderful. I would have died if I had to wear the mens BDU'S. I am short and I have a short waist. Most womans waist line is lower then a mans. I love the fit, they look great and are very comforable. You cant go wrong with the comfort fit waist band. Thank you for making a womans line BDU/TDU pant for LEO's and military.. Love Love Love them..
RaspundeK9 R.,
Didn't like the fact that the pants didn't come up to the waist (where normal people wear their belts). The pants were more "hip huggers" then trousers. The waist/belt loops fell around the top of the hips and the crotch was not cut correctly and cut in. Ended up buying the men's pants and was extremely satisfied with the crotch fit and waist. Recommend those over the "female" version.
RaspundeMcdouca,
Highly recommend but black and blue are not colors I can wear everyday. If you had them in Khaki/Tan, I would own several pairs and so would my coworkers. Very limited in colors for women.
RaspundeUnhappy C.,
I was so glad when the women's TDU pant finally came available in the OD Green. Unfortunately I wasn't sure which size to get so I ordered two pairs of 2 and two pairs of 4. I did read the reviews ahead of time and smartly ordered the longs. I would recommend them if you are average in height. I'm 5'5". I am in law enforcement and none of the reviewers mentioned anything about wearing these pants with a duty belt. That to me is the real test. I ended up fitting into the size 2. Which fits great until you put on a duty belt. I wear a 5.11 under belt and it's pretty stiff and adding the duty belt with keepers and leg holster add to the ridiculous amount of discomfort on my hips. These pants are so low on the waist my duty belt sits right on my hip bones. Yes I know if I gained more weight I wouldn't have this problem but then I would be fat. I have bruising on my hips daily from the belt sitting directly on my hips and pain. The crotch area is so high too so I can't pull up my pants to get my duty belt off of my hips. These pants would be better if and inch was added to them. I did read the review on the lady who switched to the men's TDU. I use to wear them and although the waist was nice since my duty belt wasn't sitting directly on my hips, I delt with the actual pants digging into my hips since they were designed to fit a man with no hips. And then you deal with a saggy butt. PLEASE MAKE THESE PANTS WEARABLE WITH A DUTY BELT!!!!!!!!
RaspundeAb.,
Love them buy a 1 pr. you would never go back to your old ones :)
RaspundeLm,
These pants are very uncomfortable. I don't get the elastic/changing waistband. They don't stay up on my waist...I have to wear a belt or they would be too big. Then the "seat" is way too tight, thus very uncomfortable...
RaspundePark R.,
I am an officer and love these pants. The only problem is that they need more crotch room. When you are wearing a duty belt, the last thing you need is for there not to be enought room in the crotch and running, etc. to carry out your duties. It makes for an uncomfortable situation.
RaspundeKaty,
Pants were way too bulky and didn't sit well on my waist. The elastic stretch in the waistband also makes the waist too bulky and uncomfortable.
RaspundeTallgirl,
I can not even express how happy I am that 5.11 finally made a Women's pant that comes in tall! I really like the cut and think the pants are great! Please don't ever stop making them. It is really nice to not have to wear saggy crotch Men's pants so I can have them long enough. Thanks 5.11!!!
RaspundeFeeling B.,
These pants are standard uniform items for the province's ambulance service. The pants appear to be very rugged, ripstop fabric and double/triple stitching. The elastic waist is a nice feature. Lots of pockets. A long version is available, and the hemming at the bottom is good, with the ability to but in a drawstring. After several weeks of trying to wear them, they have been retired permanently. I am tall and these pants sit extremely low on the waist, it feels like they are sliding down all the time. My uniform shirt always comes untucked - not exactly a professional image. The knee pads are a nice idea, but very hot to wear. Don't use these pants if you have pets in the house, their power to pick up hair is amazing.I will have to try the men's pants.
RaspundeMounted M.,
As a long time rider, we are always looking for something comfortable to wear while riding our horses on and off patrol...... this pant is IT! It has seams that lay flat, extra room in the seat, lots of pockets to carry what you need, fits at the waste, and is very durable! Love this pant!
RaspundeRudy,
These pants are perfect for women; finally a size Two pant that fits well, has a low rise waist. I love all of the pockets. The fabric is great, repells fluids. I am a transport RN and I won't wear the 'issued' pants they give us, ONLY these! Please make them in tan/khaki would be great for zoo keepers!
RaspundeAn P.,
I purchased 3 pair of these pants last year and they fit perfectly. I liked them so much that I just bought 2 more. Unfortunately, the new pants are cut slightly slimmer in the legs than the previous pairs. I noticed that 5.11 is manufacturing these pants in a different country now which is probably why there's a difference. I'm considering exchanging the new ones for the next size up, but I'm afraid they'll be too big.
RaspundeSpecial K.,
This pant is pretty awesome, and I wish the Army would contract 5.11 to make women's ACU pants! The only real problem that I found was with the sizing. I'm 5'1" and 120lbs athletic build and typically wear a size 6 jean...but I had to get this pant in a size 10?! After receiving these pants, I actually measured the waist and it measures 27" even though the size chart states 29". I guess the sizing chart is based on the waist measurement when the elastic waist inserts are fully extended??? Anyway, just a word to other women to maybe go up a size or so! And I forgot to mention the length on these pants is perfect for me, even though I am very short. I have the 5.11 8" side-zip boots and these pants hit a perfect 1" from the ground. Excellant pant guys, even if ya have a weird size chart!! LOL

M. J.,
I work for a conservation corps and found a pair of these in a freebie bin at our office. I work ten hour days in all kinds of weather, hike long distances with a heavy pack, run chainsaws and use crosscuts, and am constantly on my knees setting rocks, etc. And I can do all of those things comfortably in these pants. The fabric is so comfy (and I'm very picky). The pocket space is incredible - my phone fits in the internal pocket, which is perfect because it's a little more secure. I love that the legs blouse; it keeps the dirt out. I have had to put a patch on one of the knees and have repaired a seam on the backside, but I've been wearing them for almost a year and my job is *brutal* on clothes. If this pair ever gives out, I will absolutely be buying another.
