Feels great! Material is robust but not too aggressive. nnThe carrier alone isn't heavy - having the ability to scale the weight for anything is really cool, too. I just wish the plates for it were cheaper. nnScored the carrier for $99 - which I feel is an appropriate price for the item.
Just got done taking this bad boy on a two mile run followed by a WOD oriented workout ended by death via stair master. The carrier is very adjustable via its wire and strap system. You can perfectly fit it to your body and I couldnt be happier. I have the Rogue Cast Iron (10lb) plates inside.
Really nice carrier with loads more features than I really need if I'm honest but we've all heard it said. Buy once, cry once. I kinda like the GE07 pattern. Looks like it'll work well in a variety of conditions. I'm loaded with some heavy AR500 (.308 rated) plates and this system pushes that weight around in a way where you really don't notice it as much as my previous carrier system.
I was skeptical of the TacTec carrier. I also knew there was a reason for its popularity. I had another carrier I have used for a few years for exercise and I broke down my stubbornness and got one of these these are the best and most comfortable carriers I have worn for workouts. I would also like to add that it is more comfortable and better fitting with 2-20lb rogue plates than my other one, and my other one had considerably less weight in it too!
I am not one to get big name gear. I heard this vest was top notch so I gave it a try. I can say I've worn numerous carriers and this one is top 3. This will be my go to carrier from now on. Extremely comfortable.
Just about a 5 star item, light, comfy, overall good feel. The quick disconnect system is the flaw in my opinion. While it's a fast system to yank the cord and go, it's a nightmare to put it back together and an easy snag factor to undo the vest too. Should have just done a buckle system. Other than that it's great
A well thought out and executed Plate Carrier. This Geo7 TacTec Plate Carrier is just what I need to ramp up some workouts and packs easily for my emergency response kit.
A Good Quality Plate Carrier But Needs Some Augmentation
Derek J.,
Recently picked up the Tac Tec Plate Carrier, and am overall impressed with the quality production. There are things both good and bad with it:nPros: Comfortable, High Quality, Sturdy, Easy to move and manipulate while wearing it, Love the GEO7 camo pattern, Fairly easy to adjust for sizing.nCons: The Cummerbund should be attached in the back with lashing/ cordage to prevent accidental disconnection-- which I did with some 550 Cordage and a spare nylon/fabric MOLLE snap strap, and should have a better means of attaching MOLLE pouches on the sides, and the biggest issue are the "quick disconnect" cables-- they can be pulled or snagged way too easily on accident and can completely disassemble the carrier. There is no stopper/ buffer to prevent that from happening, and the finish on said cables are shiny/ reflective which defeats the camouflaging purpose, so I removed them and used an earth tone colored 550 Paracord to affix everything in place, and finished the connections with knots/ tying and high strength tape so that it doesn't come apart unless I need it to, whether by untying the cordage or cutting the cordage (which with the original cables you could not cut them due to the metal cores of the cables). The only other con is regarding the accessories-- 5.11 currently doesn't produce soft nylon fabric magazine pouches in either M4/ AR or M14/ FAL metric magazine sizes and the same camo pattern for the system.

The quality and finish are quite good. It's a product that I recommend to CrossFit lovers.
