Anthony,
Ive had three of these belts over the last 11 years or so wearing every single day in construction. Im an electrician doing mostly commercial work. This belt holds up a hand tool pouch which ends up weighing a few pounds, a flash light holster, a tape measure holder and usually a drill or impact. Its stiff but not too stiff to where it feels like a steel ring around your waist. You dont end up with a massive wedgie like you do with a more flexible belt. I will never not wear this belt for work. If your looking for a belt to hold up a CCW or even construction like me, you wont be disappointed
RaspundeMark P.,
Gloves are unexciting. Belts are great, but you guys just HAVE TO get the sizing right. Disclaimers and caveats don't count. These are not a confusing item of clothing. They are as long as they are. Just freakin' SAY SO.
RaspundeSteve D.,
I've worn one for over 10 years and my woodworking shop and while doing yardwork and anything else physical. It's still in great shape except for some paint worn off the buckle and it's the best belt I've ever had for securing pants while doing physical activities once it's tight And the Velcro is attached there is no slipping.
RaspundeEric F.,
My brother works in Corrections and uses the same belt. He has had it five years or so, he said. I was asking him about belts because mine had just broken. He told me about 5.11 Tactical and showed me the belt and how it worked. I was impressed. Five years is incredible to me. Thinking of it. You could buy 40 belts from a big name store in that period and break everyone of them if you're a big active man. I received the belt shortly after I ordered it and immediately I liked it. Easy to put on. Easy to adjust. Has a clean look to it. I'm impressed. If I end up needing another belt. I'll have this site in mind. Also will be suggesting it to friends.
Raspundeconnie c.,
Nice belt ..I love the Velcro cause it keeps it clean and tight. Easy to take off and on.
RaspundePat B.,
Belt is great. The only issue was ordered green and got the black one. But fits great, works for what I need it for.
RaspundeMike S.,
This is the second belt I have purchased, the first was originally for BDU pants The belt lasted for a long time. I'm now warring regular shorts and pants but still like this style of belt, just not as thick.
RaspundeChristopher H.,
So I've bought this peice of clothing before. I had this same belt only bigger that I wore all the time. On duty and off this belt just does a better job than any other on the market. It features a thicker material that holds shape well. nIt can be a bit clunky for wearing with regular cloths, but if you wear much on your belt, this support is a MUST.nI found it worked for EMS, FIRE, and Law enforcement. It's not really a top belt for all your batman accessories, but it certainly never stopped me from using it as one without an inner belt. nIt just does it all so well.nFor the price it's worth giving it a shot.
RaspundeMario P.,
The belt work great thank you nI'll be order more things
RaspundeSandra W.,
This is the third 5.11 Trainer Belt (in different colors) I have owned and like the others it does an excellent job of holding my gear and the buckle makes sure it stays tight all day. It is a good value for the price.
RaspundeLyle G.,
The best feature is the secondary Velcro that keeps the belt tight and in place throughout all activities and action.
RaspundeMichael C.,
Ive had a number of belts that I used for concealed carry and this is the best one I have found for every day wear.

I love these Belts - I mate them with my 5.11 Stryke Pants and Shorts - Great Pairing...!!
RaspundeD,
I thought I had lost my last tactical belt on a work trip so I ran out to the 5:11 store to grab a new one before taking off again. Picked one up for myself and my husband and hoped I would like it since I didnt have any other options. Turns out that I had not lost my last belt, but it did go into the donation pile with this one as its replacement. Love this belt. Adjusts easily, secure and does the job. Doesnt dig in like the donated belt and has good rigidity. Im sold. I also see my husband wearing his frequently and he is also really pleased with this belt. Recommend.
RaspundeEDWARD D.,
The last belt I had lasted 4 years - used everyday. Wish there was a way to revive the velcrow. New one is great, never a problem.
RaspundeJohn P.,
Bought one about three years ago and got next size up as recommended, way to big. Ordered one in my regular size and fits perfect. Been wearing it every day for two years. Great belt but be cautious of size.
RaspundeMitch C.,
These belts are the best. Ive had 2 the first one lasted 5 years. And the Velcro got so wore out it wouldnt hold anymore. Theyre worth every penny.
RaspundeKevin H.,
The belt is a fine product, my problems was the color description on the web site. I wanted tan, I ordered what looked like tan and it cam in a green tint. When I reordered I was told to order kangaroo if I wanted tan so I did.nWhen they say it sizes smaller than listed, believe them. I have always taken a XXL size in pants/belts, but this had to be a XXXL to fit properly.nI would definitely buy again thow.
RaspundeJonathan H.,
my 'go to' belt I use daily. lost a bunch of weight on Atkins so this is my 2nd one. No problems carry a heavier Taurus Judge loaded 410 sometimes, or full size and compact size sig holds up well for each. It's a comfortable, easy to use belt and I use it even when not carrying when using shorts or pants
RaspundeLucas L.,
Sturdy, easy to put on and take off. The charcoal color looks great.
RaspundeBrandon,
First off the sizing is horrible , i bought 2 sizes and one is too small and the other is almost too big. This hasn't been a problem with other companies belts. Second it's not made in usa but being sold at a price you can buy usa made belts for. I will say It seems to be pretty decent in terms of quality or i would have only gave it one star.
RaspundeJames L.,
Easy on/ off, well made, tuff belt, carries my pistol , saw, & knife very well
RaspundeMiguel R.,
Love this belt, just started carrying and it holds my holster and gear well. Well built with good Material.
RaspundeKevin R.,
Great Belt! Just bought my second one in 17 years. Only because my son took my old one!
RaspundePeter H.,
Its a great belt for work, range, or anything outdoors. Good heavy construction, material and stitching. Well designed corner to feed items on like flashlight holster and other accessories and slides through garment loops easily.
RaspundeMullineaux B.,
Simply the best nylon web belt out there. Just the right amount of stiffness to hold my kit in place with easy adjustment . This is my second 5.11 Trainer Belt. My first lasted years of nearly daily wear before the Velcro became compromised.
RaspundeBrian S.,
Quality is what I've come to expect from 5.11, that's what I get every time.
RaspundeAnthony,
this may not be the intended use for this belt, but this belt has survived 8 years of hard use in construction. I would imagine harder use than most would put on it. Iv used this belt as an every day belt for work. Im wearing a tool pouch that weight just she of 10 pounds, a multi tool, a flashlight, to hold my pants up with pockets full of tools. Its stiff enough to hold everything up without sagging and giving me a wedgie. Yet playable enough to be comfortable. The buckle never failed, the Velcro never failed. The belt has started to fray around the area of where the buckle is after 8 years of abuse. I just ordered another one and hope to have it for another 8 years. This is a fantastic belt If your trying to hold up some weight
RaspundeTom C.,
I was very pleased with the product functionality and fit. Customer Service (P. D.) was outstanding too!
RaspundeJason D.,
I like the belt, I just wish they had this buckle color on the coyote colored belt and/or had this same setup in the 1.75 thickness belt.
RaspundeJeffrey G.,
I ordered 2 of the same style belt. nOne was gray and one was black. nThey both are labeled XL. Unfortunately they are not the same size. The gray belt was about 5.5 inches shorter. I returned this belt and re-ordered it. This time it came in about 4 inches shorter.
RaspundeJOSE J.,
Solid construction with adjustable waist velcro band. Sturdy and can pretty much hold any EDC tools or gear with no problem, shaking, moving, or sliding.
Raspundegerone s.,
Good everyday belt. If you carry anything on your belt and it will fit your belt loops the Operator Belt is a better option.
RaspundeJazz,
So I've been using this belt everyday just about since 2020. It has held up well to daily concealed carry use and range use. The belt is made of solid material and I imagine it holding up got years to come. I have two gripes, both are due to being a more lean guy: 1) The buckle is pretty bulky. I carry appendix and if I'm wearing a slim cut shirt, the belt buckle protrudes through my close with the added girth of a gun and holster. 2) Or can ride up a bit in the back which calls for occasional readjusting. But with all the cheap garbage that's out today, especially with belts, this one does what it's supposed to, but can be a bit cumbersome for thin guys.
RaspundeRichard N.,
This was a replacement for a similar belt I had had for years that was very durable. If the old belt didnt start to fray, it would still be used. Seems to be well built & customer service in selecting the appropriate size was very helpful.
RaspundeJason M.,
Its high quality 100% buy a size smaller than the pants you wear. I should have exchanged mine for 32 I bought 34.
RaspundeGary L.,
Great belt! This is my first 511 belt and I read that you should go a size bigger. That was a mistake. I have a 32 waste and should have gone with the medium size instead of a large. But thats the problem with mail order instead of heading to my local store. My bad. But overall its a great belt and I am making it work. But next time Ill stay true to my size.
RaspundeIrene W.,
This is my second belt, my daughter is now using my old one. Great quality and its true to size. The belt looks great on and works well with loop holsters. Well worth the money!
RaspundeLawrence D.,
Excellent product. Replaced a belt worn almost daily foe the past 6 years
RaspundeJeff C.,
Great belt you cant go wrong with this belt my son bought one also and loves it and they run true to size
RaspundeJosh P.,
Great alternative to the larger width operator belt. Still structured and solid, just easier to wear woth jeans
RaspundeWilliam F.,
I still have the one I purchased 10 years ago and is still holding up well, built to last. I wear as an every day & also under my duty belt secured with belt keepers. I bought this new one for my brother for when we go to the range~
RaspundeRonald M.,
Absolutely love it 2nd one ive owned hold up well and has infinate adjustability so it fits perfect ever time. Eveyone I know I tell this is the belt to get
RaspundeJesus B.,
I never even received my product, they didnt notify me that they dont deliver to PO Boxes and my belt got returned. And if that wasnt enough I have yet to receive my refund and it has been like 20 days since the return policy rule applied. I advise everyone reading this to go and buy to other more responsible brand.
RaspundeDavid K.,
Didn't fit as expected. If you think you nay be "between" sizes, always go with the larger size.... I shoulda known.
RaspundeRichard H.,
Have been a 5.11 customer for years. The gear is excellent. My belt purchase was to replace one more than 10 years old. Reliable, well designed, high quality clothing and equipment. Reasonably priced.
RaspundeBrannan, G.,
Great belt! I need a belt that I can cinch tightly. Leather belts always stretch, I have to punch extra holes, and eventually I have half the belt hanging out past the buckle. This belt cinches ands doesn't stretch!
RaspundeDon G.,
I like the fit went to a smaller belt due to weight loss journey
RaspundeGary N.,
In dealing with 511 tactical my first impressions were not very good. And trying to get the military discount that you offer was extremely troublesome. Customer service said I needed to contact a salesman and the salesman on multiple calls would not return my messages. I called one last time and Jose was the gentleman that helped me out and he redeemed my thoughts on 511 tactical. In my opinion Jose is a valued member of your team you need to treat him right, train or fire the rest. Your product is a good product and needs to be promoted as such. You guys are doing a great job in that area.
RaspundeNick T.,
nice belt if the velcro lets go the buckle works
RaspundeJeffrey S.,
Sturdy and comfortable. Once you lay down the Velcro you are good to go, the belt wont loosen up. I wear this belt every day. Store employees very knowledgeable and nice.
RaspundeJason A.,
Great belt! Easy to adjust, and bombproof. Stands up to daily farm use carrying a Leatherman tool and tape measure. I wear a 32 waist and I bought the medium size, plenty long almost too long, so size accordingly.
RaspundeDavid S.,
This is the 2nd belt of the same model that I have purchased from 5.11, lost weight. I conceal carry and with this belt I hardly notice the gun on my waist.
RaspundeJohn M.,
This is my fourth 5.11 1.5 trainer belt. I love them. I wear them pretty much everyday. I have three that are probably 10 years old and just added another one. Infinitely adjustable so I can still carry comfortably, even after eating or if I have to wear and extra layer.
RaspundeFrancis H.,
For my build and preferences, I would have preferred ordering the next size up. I think for its description it runs small
Raspundematthew g.,
Belt is comfortable to wear daily while working all day doesnt shift and dig in, for carrying side arm have not yet tried cause my job does not permit but over all will buy again I am very pleased
RaspundeChad W.,
This has been a great belt design from day one! I used the the operator belt for my duty rig and this belt for everyday use. They hold up and look great!
RaspundeRandy D.,
I love these belts I now have 3 different colors great belt for work
RaspundeBonnie K.,
Very comfortable to use every day. Also use it to hold my holsters.
RaspundeKevin R.,
This is the best belt you can get. I already own the wider stiffer version and its a great gun belt but it gets stiff for long days. This belt is the perfect compromise.
RaspundeWalton P.,
This is the second one I have bought. I have one in blue and needed a green one these belts are great for both Concealed Carry and open carry holsters.
RaspundeColette A.,
I actually returned this belt because it was too bulky for my needs. It was heavy and very well made. I can see how someone in law enforcement that needs to carry a battery of clip-ons would love this belt.
RaspundePaul B.,
Excellent belt, holster clips on easily and stays in place, comfortable and secure, simple to adjust.
RaspundeTeodoro P.,
Like it a lot, helps support my inside concealed weapon holster.
RaspundeNOLAN A.,
What can you expect? Robust, durable, adjustable strong materialoverall a great belt for any casual occasion.
RaspundeCora B.,
Great fit and feel! No rolling when "tools" are attached! What i was looking for!
RaspundeGuy C.,
Another one of your great products that does the job, fits like a glove, and we wear 5.11 from head to toe for our work outfits,a great, great, company with a well made comfortable product
RaspundeJeff M.,
Needed a new belt after my old one wore out from one to many uses.nLooked around for something to support an active lifestyle and decided to try this one.nBeen a month and NO COMPLAINTS Nice looking, buckle does not slip like others and it takes a few work accessories very well.
RaspundeEric B.,
Really good belt the only thing I can say against it is that its a little slow to get on and off. However, it makes up for that as its extremely adjust to fit tight or loose and the buckle does not slip.
RaspundeMark W.,
I use this belt every single day, for work and for concealed carry. Its plenty of belt to be rigid and support my gear but not too much material that its not comfy for EDC. My old belt lasted for 3-5 years before the Velcro started to get worn almost completely out (which is normal). Amazing belt and for the money I dont think it can be beat.
RaspundeJames W.,
this belt is stiff, and great for wearing a sidearm. i do like the velcro aspect.
RaspundeScott W.,
Don't order by your waist size! Go a size bigger. I can wear it (barely) without my pistol but no way with a sidearm.
RaspundeKeith B.,
I was concerned that the web material would be too soft and flexible. This is not the case. It is plenty firm and supportive. The buckle takes some getting use to. Overall, its a great belt.
RaspundeJ. M.,
Very nice everyday belt. Do not buy a size bigger. I did and it was too big. Sent back for proper size. I really like this belt
RaspundeJerry P.,
I really like this belt.. it goes well with the shorts that I purchased from 5.11.. its strong and durable enough to carry you EDC if so desired..
RaspundeMartha A.,
This is a great powerful belt. I just wish it was as simple to put on like traditional belt.
RaspundeValerie T.,
The belt is solid and was without issue carrying my holstered .45. After my stroke 3 years ago and now my left arm being mostly useless, I can work this belt with my right hand. So when I do have to go places, I don't have to go pantsless.
Raspundebrian l.,
Bought the belt on a suggestion from a friend that has one. I use it for my EDC and it works perfectly. Only thing I would like is to not see "Made in China" on the belt.
RaspundeLA R.,
This belt wasnt stiff enough for me. It didnt distribute the weigh of a gun and 2 mags evenly. I wound up returning it.
RaspundeRaymond B.,
this is a replacement of my other 1.5 trainer. it is still good but i lost enough weight i had to drop a size. its a great belt .
RaspundeJeffrey,
I ordered a Trainer Belt on Tuesday and it arrived today. 511 has great products and will continue to use them
RaspundeNick,
I run between a medium and large, so I figured the large would be fine due to the flexibility of sizing with the Velcro. It's only just barely long enough, so I would definitely recommend ordering a size up though it seems like some other reviewers would disagree.
RaspundeCrystal,
I have several of these. Buy your waist size. Love the cinch down on the buckle. And my fave feature of this belt is the Velcro! When at the range or a training course and you have to go potty, just flip the end around and hit the Velcro on the belt. Voila! No gun hitting the ground. Brilliant!!
RaspundeTerry,
Bought one today with the 20% sale. Checked it for quality. Had a similar one in the police dept, lasted for years. I expect this one to do likewise.
RaspundeDoug,
For those complaining that the velcro area where the belt is thicker (belt, velcro, and belt tongue) is placed where their holster is...you can solve this "problem" by simply threading the belt in the other direction! (Duh!)
RaspundeK,
Stitching is coming out of the velcro in the spot that will see the most action, the very start of the strip that snags on everything. 3 days in and the stitching is coming out and the velcro strip is coming up. Other than the poor quality I love the function of the belt, and the size M for my 33 waist 5.11 pants is perfect. But i thought it would be my EDC belt and it looks like its a once a month belt.
RaspundeChris,
The belt itself is awesome! The belt holds up very well to supporting the weight of a firearm, spare magazine, and knife for every-day-carry. However, the sizing isn't the best for some folks. For me, the large runs just a little too big as the excess feed-through of the belt interferes with some of my holsters. However, the medium size's placement of the velcro makes it where the the "male" velcro barely makes contact with the "female" velcro and doesn't fit me quite the best either. I've learned to make both the medium and large sizes work for me (as my waist size is in between the two sizes), but it would be nice if the belt fit a little better in regards to not having to choose between having too much slack or barley fitting & not being able to completely secure the velcro.
RaspundeMars,
What light and secure belt. I'm 280 6'1 and the XLL was perfect with a lot room left to grow into. (BUT I WISH NOT) I can wear this belt cause it snugs tight. Your pants will not start to drop. This belt is super light and the entire day i was finally at ease that my pants weren't slipping. IT IS AN AMZING BELT AND I WOULD RECOMMEND ALL MY BIG BOTHERS TO GET ASAP! #MAGA
RaspundeAndrew,
Been with me for a few years and through 3 diffrent jobs. Velcro stands up great, collects lint sometimes but not an issue. Buckle is great, paint has only chipped in a few places but still looks great. Only issue I have is on the velcro side the last 7 inches of the belt the lower end has frayed on the bottom. Just have to cut and singe the ends so the fraying doesn't continue. Ordering a new one and I hope to get just as much use out of it as the current one. Thank you 5.11 for making a quality product and keeping my pants up through out the years.
RaspundeMikhail,
Perfect quality no more no less. Double strap construction is absolutely dependable and looks more durable than tow-line of my car. )My physical waist size is 35 inches / 89 cm if you don't have a plans to carry anything like your gun under the belt it's looks a little bit longer than necessary, if the belt tighted the Velcro doesn't reach to buckle around 1 or 1,5 inches. At least I'm planing to buy next belt on size M.Construction don't allow you to unbuckle it fast but I think it is not a very important for pant belt.
RaspundeJuan S.,
Thanks to this belt I'm alive, I being using this belt since 2014 and this week a criminal atack me with a .22 gun and he shot me at close range. This amazing belt crush the bullet and stop most of the fragments, I'm really thankful with that purchase 3 years ago.Great quality product.
RaspundeHenry,
I usually wear a large size in belts. However, given the advice of some of the earlier reviews I ordered an extra large. When I went to try it out on a new pair of 5.11 pants, the belt was too big. The overlapping velco interfered with the belt loops of my holster. So I am returning it for a size smaller, i.e., a large. IMHO, using the next larger size advice did not work. For some people this advice was spot-on, but it didn't apply to my situation. 5.11 customer service has been excellent! They seem to understand the problem and provided a RAN without any questions.
RaspundeJohn,
I needed an everyday best that would support an IWB holster and not loosen. With CCW you need a proper belt and holster. Everyone seems to think you need a tiny gun but NO. Don't kid yourself. This is the proper belt. I use it with a Hidden Hybrid with two polymer J clips. It tightens up, velcros secure. No problems with carrying. Love the belt
RaspundeDonkey,
I wear size 40 jeans and ordered the XL (40-42) belt and it fits perfectly with 5" that goes past the 1st belt loop. At the bottom of the product page they warn that these run small and I would have to agree. This belt size is perfect for jean size 38-40. If you wear 42 jeans, then order the XXL. The buckle tightens up nicely and the belt is thick. I prefer the trainer model as it is 1.5" wide and easier to fish through belt loops. I ordered the charcoal color with the satin finish buckle and it looks sharp. You could wear this with khakis and it would look more professional than the all black version.Took 5 days for delivery.
RaspundePk,
I bought this at a local retailer 4 years ago because I wanted something better for CCW. I didn't expect for it to hold up like it did. I carry every day, and was amazed at the fact that this belt lasted 4 years. In fairness I could still wear it but the velcro is starting to wear out and I wanted to try one of the cobra buckles. Not much more you can want out of a belt.
RaspundeAlaskan S.,
I have one of these belts that i wear everyday, and have been for 2 years now. 5 STARS!!!BUT living in Alaska i would like bigger sizes for winter competition shooting. Wearing Bibs or a one piece jumpsuit, in the winter time is a must to stay warm when it gets to below 0 with a wind chill. I have made do by getting to belts and placing them together. but would really like bigger sizes.
RaspundeJesse,
ive had this belt for a few years and it is as strong as the day i bought it
RaspundeSomefatguy,
Fat guy here, w/ no *ss...wear size 38 and conceal carry. One Review suggested get 2 sizes bigger( 2xl) especially if you carry (makes sense).. it almost fits but not quite, soft velcro gets snagged on buckle, cant snug up..have to now go through the bs of exchanging. chart suggests a L, im going with an Xl should be just right. Disappointed I didnt go with my "gut"..no pun intended..Dont read too far into reviews...belt looks amazing just as advertised.
RaspundeDoug C.,
I bought this belt originally for the pistol range in lieu of leather belts which get wet and soggy during hot TX summer. You still sweat but at least it easier to dry out later. Now I wear it all the time as I wear a heavier gun for EDC (concealed) and a 1/1/4" leather belt gun belt is not ridged enough to hold up the gun. Also the traditional leather belt is a challenge to get it into the correct notch; either too loose or too tight. This belt lets one pull as tight as needed and hold it in place with the hook/loop. Wear different trousers or accessories on belt you can easily adjust. Most important to pick the right size so check carefully. It takes a little longer to get the belt on/off especially if you add accessories of one sort or another but it is worth it once everything is in place.
RaspundeHarry,
This is a heavy duty, tough, belt. I had problems shopping for the correct size, like others have stated. Here's what I did.I went to a local sporting good store that I knew had 5.11 gear in stock. I wear a size 36 waist pants. My belt, using another mfgs. sizing method is between 41, and 42 inches. I tried a size LARGE, and it was going to obviously come up a little short for my use. I switched to the 2XL, and got a perfect fit. Very Happy with this purchase of the Trainer Belt.
RaspundeSteve,
This belt seems very well made, but I will have to return it, as it is too small even though I followed the size chart. These belts run a size small.
RaspundeMerlin,
I love everything about this belt, except for the sizing options. Why would you offer such limited sizes? S 28"-30", M 32"-34"For proper fit, the velcro hook should fall in the middle of the velcro loop portion on the belt. This would allow adjustment in either direction, depending on whether you are using an IWB holster or not. With this in mind, optimal sizing for the small would be 29" and 33" for the medium. That's a 4" variance in sizing. That doesn't work for someone who falls in the middle of these size range.Unfortunately, I fall in between size options. My current belt measures 31" from contact point on inside of buckle to current hole used. With the small size, the velcro hook on the tale of the belt just makes contact with the velcro loop on the belt with no room for adjustment. On the medium size belt, I have to tighten the belt to where the velcro loop part of the belt comes in contact with the buckle. The problem is the tale of the belt is so long it wraps around to the small of my back???This can't be the first time you've heard this complaint. Unfortunately my only option is to return the belt and shop a competitor who offers 1" increments.
RaspundeDoug C.,
Many of the reviews here mention getting a size too large/small for them. Best bet; go to a store carrying belt and try it on. Allow for wearing gear over and/or under the belt in choosing the size best for you. If you get a belt too large you will not be able to tighten up enough around your waist and you will have a lot of extra belt hanging loose. Getting too small and you have problems as well. I am glad I tried on before buying as according to my waist measurement (1 in. below belly button and from the existing dress belt from end of buckle to the hole on belt I use most often) the 5.11 website sizing chart says buy large. I tried a large on and it would have been too big unless I was carrying an Inside-the-waist-band gun. I got the medium-size belt and we are good to go. The material of belt is important when range shooting in hot weather and one sweats a lot. Leather becomes too wet; soaking.
RaspundeGhost R.,
I bought one of these about 4 years ago and wear it every where and it still shows no signs of breaking down, even where I pull my mag pouch with metal clip off and on shows no wear marks. Tough and Great product!
RaspundeRed O.,
Excellent Fit. Professional Look. Easily adjustable. High quality. Reasonable purchase price.I have had this product for 4 days, and I have been receiving comments on this belt everywhere I go. My peers are looking into purchasing this product.I strongly recommend considering this belt for your next purchase.
RaspundeMonster,
I wear the belt all the time in training and when out with the wife. I like that it can be used for different things, the buckle can handle 600lbs.
RaspundeGeorge,
This is an excellent belt. Very well made! It does an exceptional job holding up my pants as well as supporting accessories (e.g. holster, knife, other tools). The buckle does not allow the belt to slip, while the hook and loop fastener strip keeps the tail of the belt close to my side. I wish I would have purchased this belt sooner!
RaspundeMygunstoo,
Been using this belt for over 5 years every day. I need another one just because I had lost weight. It is a great belt.
RaspundeBen,
This is a top quality belt, rugged construction with excellent attention to detail in design and quality of workmanship.
RaspundeMike,
I use this for daily concealed carry and while at the range. It is by fat the best belt I have purchased and I have purchased many of them!
RaspundeJimbo,
I have never paid so much for a belt before, but hopefully it will last the years.
RaspundeRon,
I HAVE A MEDIUM AND A LARGE. ONE IS TOO SMALL AND ONE IS TOO LARGE. I MEED A 34-36. THE MEDIUM NEEDS TO BE 2-3 INCHES LARGER AND THE LARGE NEEDS TO BE 2-3 INCHES SMALLER.
RaspundeMatt,
Truly great product. I have several +5.11 products, and this one doesn't disappoint. Keep up the good work!
RaspundeJared,
Easily one of the best belts out there. Use this belt most for the shooting range to hold a holster and for everyday wear.
RaspundeJggphoto,
Solid versatile belt for everyday casual - CCW - and heavier use. Have them in variable colors. Looks great - works even better.
RaspundeBrian,
I wear this belt during training. I feel it is well made and looks sharp.
RaspundeRindle,
I initially bought this belt to repalce my issue leather one as i try to avoid using leather. However I like it so much I wear it every day and apart from a dress belt it is now the only belt I own.
RaspundeSgt R.,
I use these belts for everyday use. I use the Operator belt at work. They are both outstanding pieces of gear. I would buy again, with great confidence, IF I could ever wear this out. The only reason I had to buy a new one was, to buy a smaller one, after I lost some weight.
RaspundePopeye,
This is the only belt I've ever owned that keeps my pants up, without hiking them up every 20 mins.
RaspundeHarrell63,
Fast shipment. Excellent construction and appearance. Bought my normal size but too small.
RaspundeAlan,
I bought this belt to support my gun holster based solely on customer reviews and I am not disappointed. I wear it 14 hours a day and it is very comfortable. I will never buy anything but 5.11 from now on.
RaspundeFlyauburn,
I use this with my galco tuck able IWB holster and its a perfect combo. Comfortable rugged everyday wear belt that'll make it an easy decision to put on the sidearm in the morning.
RaspundeRadioactive I.,
I own two of these belts (one black and one grey). I tried a less expensive brand and was not happy with the fabric used. This belt has a hook and loop feature that keeps the belt secure all day without slippage. The 1.5" width fits all jeans and 5.11 pants I wear. I am CCW and prefer IWB this belt keep my holster in place and secure due to the construction. The spring clip on IWB grips the belt edge and does not slip off as with some other brands of belts.
RaspundeLlwj,
I'd certainly buy another one if I ever wear this one out -- unless I find a comparable product for less.
RaspundeTmcclintock,
The quality is superior. As good as I expected.
RaspundeJim A.,
Just the perfect blend of form and utility. This belt is very comfortable too, and not at all bulky or hard to set to the perfect fit. It's ideal for just knocking around in shorts, but is just what I need when it's time to gear up and head out into the woods. I use this a lot when hiking and trail running. It is light weight but still sturdy enough to take on the gear that I need to be accessible on the trail. I also get a lot of compliments on this belt when I wear it just going out in some jeans. But make no mistake, it is rugged and built to stand up to a lot of wear.
RaspundeThev8man,
This belt is awesome. I keeps concealed carry holsters secure and tight.
RaspundeTibbs,
This is my everyday belt. Love it. Have tried other leather belts and was not happy. Great for concealed carry.
RaspundeFabian,
I use the product almost everyday. Its rugged and lightweight.
RaspundeTujunga J.,
I've worn one almost every day for several years (at least 5); casual wear, work wear and practically everything else. I can't wear it out. looks good; built to last.
RaspundeBill W.,
I use this belt at work and its great. Very comfortable and definitely holds my pants up LOL. I use it for CHL carry off duty as well and its the best ive used for that. Quality construction as always with 5.11 products
RaspundeJavi,
Great all around everyday belt. I carry concealed everyday and this belt works great with ALL my holsters.
RaspundeIgoman,
I bought this belt along with my taclite pro pants. The belt is very well made and I use it every day. There is nothing I dont like about it and its worth the price.
RaspundeLoskid,
Awesome belt, liked the first one so much i ordered another!! :) I Need one of every color.
RaspundeAirborne S.,
I have been using a standard off the rack leather belt or a standard ACU belt for in the wast band concealed carry. This belt with the double layers helps support the weight of a 45 ACP Glock 36 with two extra mags, and the Velcro ends keeps the belt from slipping out during the day like the standard ACU belt does.
RaspundeMarkr64,
I love this belt but have one big problem with the sizing. A large barely lets the velcro hook and an X-Large wraps around too much. I don't know why they are sized to skip a full two inches in between sizes. That leaves someone like me with a belt that barely fits or one that wraps too much. I think they should do maybe 36 - 40 and then 40 - 44 or something like that and make the large about an inch or two longer. Like I said great belt if you aren't in that two inch gap between their size. I had to send it back and get the next size to fit me correctly.
RaspundeSure R.,
I like the belt I expected it to be more rigid than it is, but is very comfortable and it does its job well.I am however a little disapointed that the paint chipped off parts of the buckle within 2 months of getting it, nothing a little emm-nu won't cure though
RaspundeRegis,
I use this belt for everyday as well as when I'm running IDPA stages. Works great and I like being able to adjust the fit in smaller increments that a traditional leather belt.
RaspundeBear,
I wear this belt everyday. I carry a full size 1911 IWB in a safariland holster, and this belt makes it feel like nothing is there. NO JOKE.Ive got a big belly, and no butt, yet this belt still hold on tight, and doesnt dig into my gut.100% best purchase ive made. A must have for concealed carriers.
RaspundeGary S.,
THIS IS A GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY, WITH A LIFE TIME OF USE.
RaspundeSnareman95,
This belt along with the Operator Belt are great for use with a holster or just as an every day belt. Surprisingly enough I get a lot of compliments on the looks of it from older female patients I take care of (just goes to show how good it looks). The belts are super tough. Just make sure you get the correct size (1.5" vs 1.75") to go with the holsters and gear that you have. Check out my video review of them for more details. I recommend them without reservation.
RaspundeCavalry 5.,
This is an outstanding belt. The buckle allows you to tighten the belt easily. It is very well made and comfortable to wear. I will order more and recommend it to my friends. We are all Veterans and like the fit and feel.
RaspundeSteve M.,

RaspundeFlyboy,
Have had belts from other manufacturers that were good but not quite as rugged as this one. Have used it many times in training and found it to be rugged and dependable. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable and rugged belt.
RaspundeKwmf,
I ordered 2 of these Trainer Belts, one in black and another in coyote brown as replacements for my aging Wilderness Instructors (1.5") belt.At the end of the first day wearing the black belt with nothing attached, I found the belt had rolled from the belt loop at the back of my pants alone. Not only was there a deformation from the roll, the entire belt had begun to warp as a result. The second day just caused more of the same.My Wilderness belt of the same size has only a slight curvature after more than 3-4 years with no rolling or deformation along it's vertical axis.I haven't even bothered to wear the Tan belt and I'm basically writing these 2 belts off.Since they don't function anywhere near what I'd hoped, I'm either going to have to improvise a way to strengthen these belts or just use them in abusive situations because they are useless to me.I've attached a picture showing the deformation caused by 2 days after leaving it to hang under it's own weight for a week in the hopes of straightening it.I am happy with my 5.11 clothing, but I will be sticking to my Liger belt and Wilderness belt until I can find something up to the same level as my 1.5" Wildernes belt.
RaspundeKern,
I chose the narrower trainer belt (1 1/2") rather than duty belt (1 3/4") due to the dual ability to use it with side arm holster and under my full duty gear belt. I've had the same belt for nearly four years and it's still in great condition. It supports the several items I wear on a daily basis, i.e., firearm, radio, OC, cuffs, cell, etc... with no problem. It's also been perfect for use with supporting full duty belt. I've recommended the trainer belt to many others in my department and they all love it. It's perfect for every day law enforcement use.
RaspundeBart,
I've been very happy with this belt. I use it under my duty belt at work. It's the perfect balance of stiffness and support. Great value.
RaspundePaul,
it works well. ease of use. love it fill lost without it this belt could be use for many things other than what it was made for.it could be used as a tow rope and keep it's shape
RaspundeDan,
This belt will take care of you in an emergency. Hiking in the woods? Take a carabiner and some 550 para-cord and use the "harness" to pull yourself or someone else to safety.Need to tow a car? Your tow strap is around your waist. A weapon of opportunity? The buckle is pretty heavy and at the end of a three foot nylon strap. (None of the examples above could work with even a great quality leather belt)
RaspundeDave,
The belt is pricy for what it is. Solid and stands up to abuse, but lacks the usual fit you'd expect in a belt. Order your waist size, not waist size plus a couple inches. Also the velcro picks up weeds, burs, dirt, etc. If you need it for hooking up to a rope, maybe, but for normal uses, pricy and not necessary.
RaspundeMat,
Nice belt with reasonable price, I use this everyday with my Tactical Pants and Jeans, fit well. The main reason for choosing Trainer not Operator is because of the Buckle size, as I am not a big/tall guy, the huge buckle of the Operator Belt is too bulky for me, and looks too big for Jeans in civvy look. The belt is really solid and great support on weight. The cons are the buckle is a bit noisy when not using it and it is not ideal for storage when travel.
RaspundeChl H.,
I use this belt for concealed carry and have used many different types of belts and can say from experience, these belts will far outlast any other leather gun belt out there.
RaspundeChief,
The many uses of the belt is amazing and even wears great as a uniform belt.
RaspundeBelt S.,
This is my second Trainer belt. I wear this belt 1-2 times a week on average. With my first belt, I had it for about 2 months and I noticed that the paint was wearing off on the buckle where it slides (metal to metal). It looks "tacky"! I returned it and they sent me another one. 5.11 said that the problem had been corrected. Sorry to say, it has not! I have had the second one for approximately 4 months and as I sit here at my desk I look down to find the paint wearing off again in the same spot where metal rubs with metal. It looks unprofessional. Who wants to walk around with bare metal spots showing? I might have a better understanding for the problem if I was out in the "trenches" day in and day out but I mainly use it as a casual dress belt and with what little bit I use it it should hold up better. Just my opinion. Except for that, it is an EXCELLENT belt!
RaspundeW00d,
I could not decide if I wanted this or the Operator belt and I'm glad I chose this one. Fantastic belt, it's just as stiff as it needs to be and is very comfortable to wear all day. I have used it to support both IWB and OWB holsters with extra mags and other kit and it handled all with ease. You don't need to spend any more money than this to get a great gun belt.
RaspundeGrizz,
Great fit, comfortable wearing in all conditions and for extended periods. Provides plenty of support for heavy pistols, spare magazines, and my ASP baton.HOWEVER: I have lost the sliding lock bar a total of three times. The good is the 5.11 sent me two replacements at no cost; the bad is that this shouldn't be happening.Needs a redesign to become reliable.
RaspundeShawn,
That is the question! I have several belts of this design from other manufacturers and I like this one the most. It is the softest I have tried of the stiffer reinforced belts. That makes a difference when wearing it all day long. I also use this belt for IDPA competition. This one is similar to the Wilderness tactical belt but has a bit more Velcro than some a little less than others. The only major beef I have with this belt is the Velcro on the belt tip. Strange thing is the Velcro doesn't seem to work well with the 5.11 pants, at least on me. I found that , like the wilderness belt, the Velcro sits right on the belt loop on the pants. I don't like running the belt buckle over to one side, tightening the belt, and then slipping the Velcro tip under the belt loop because I don't seem to get as secure a fit when I use it that way. I considered sewing a bit of Velcro to the outside of the belt loop on the pants to give more support to the belt tip but I think there is enough available to hold the belt in place. It is a solid platform for competition as well as duty work along with letting you lift a car if you need a lift strap in a jiffy!!
RaspundeGtfd5311,
The 1 1/2" trainer belt is a great belt for firefighters. While we do not carry as much around the waist (no jokes intended here!) as police officers, we do carry some tools of the trade, i.e. knife or multi-tool, phone, pager, glove pouch, radio, etc. Some uniform pants will not accept the wider 1 3/4" operator belt, nor will most phones or pagers clip onto them securely. The narrower width works out great. Either belt is a good choice, just pick which one works best for you.
RaspundeMaxxcop,
This belt is a bit heavy as far as belts go and the buckle is a bit bulky. It is very durable. I use it off-duty and it is good to use if I'm wearing a consealment holster on it under a t-shirt. It offers great support for the extra weight of a sidearm.
RaspundeBigp,
good belt holds load good but coming apart at end after two weeks of every day use. all other things have held up good except belts
RaspundeAhroc,
I have a Black one and a Coyote Brown one. I'm a white collar office worker and represent my company to their customers. I worried about comments from customers, office staff, and my employer when I started using these 6-months ago and still haven't had "one" comment. I like the belt, I like the adjustability, I like things that allow me to feel a bit more prepared for an emergency. They are my daily wear belt and I wear them with suits. Two minor concerns, the cut ends are starting to fray a bit (thus the 4-star), and I would really love it if you guys would produce a normal darker "leather brown" model that would match a typical leather belt that I might wear with jeans (a little less conspicuous than light Coyote Brown). Other than that I love the belt.
RaspundeDoc A.,
I have worn this belt as an everyday replacement to the Army's standard web belt. It was purchased for a pistol class I was about to attend. It wore so well I never quit wearing it. It's been through a few more pistol classes. And it has been through a deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan and is still going strong.
RaspundeHawk31,
The support this belt give is nothing short of amazing. The quality and thickness of the belt make it a first choice on all my missions.
RaspundeGlenn,
I purchased the Trainer Belt for off duty use. I never imagined how much it would help reduce the weight of my side arm. I wear it every day with any dress. It goes well with anything.I also tried it as a keeper belt for on-duty use, and now I use it all the time.It maintains it's shape better than any belt I have ever used. I have recommended it to all my friends, both LEO as well as civilians. Great product 5.11!
RaspundePc,
So tough you could tow a tank with it!! I've only had mine a week and I'm ordering another one!!!
RaspundeJdpress,
I purchased this belt because of the safety features but found it makes an excellent carry belt for an inside the waistband (IWB) holster. The stiffness of the belt provides excellent support for the holster and at the same time it provides additional concealment. The heavy duty buckle design coupled with the strong velcro reinforcement also guarantees that the belt will not loosen during periods of physical activity. This is a very heavy but extremely durable belt.
RaspundeTall34,
Very stiff & supportive for CCw carry. Well made, especiallly for the $$$
RaspundeFirefighter0110,
I couldn't have asked for more in a belt. I will probably be ordering another one in black very soon.
RaspundeGw,
Great belt for the money that out performs the premium leather belts. Excellent in everyday wear for dress, work or play it really stands up. This belt is also great for concealed carry too. It is very adjustable in being able to accommodate an IWB carry as well as the added weight and keeping the weapon close to your body.
RaspundeGrim,
got my first one in 2006. was the best concealed carry belt ive ever owned! got another one a few days ago IT has changed!!! in what must be a cost saving move it has been made thinner. the new ones can be described in one word USELESS!!!
RaspundeRick,
Great belt. Just received last week. Solid, well made, good looking and comfortable. Good to go!
RaspundeTracker,
the belt holds without question.I know its price is a little high buts it is well worth it.
RaspundeBrooks,
I wear this belt almost daily. It creates a solid platform for my holster and is comfortable. It is a great belt.
RaspundeSteve,
I use this belt to carry my xd springfeid concield. I also use perry suspenders with this belt. works great.
RaspundeEmt P.,
This is a great belt. I was looking for something different than the leather belts which wear out after a year. This has held up great. Easy on off for middle of the night calls.
RaspundeCpo1,
My belt. No, it is more than that. My black, 5.11 Tactical Trainer. It provides me with tireless support. It never tells me the load is too heavy. It never complains about wool pants, twill pants or denim. Hot or cold weather. It treats all shorts and trousers the same - with sturdy support and respect. It is always at the ready, with me wherever I go. And like a fine wine, my Trainer has aged well over the past few years. Mellow but not weak. Supple, but not soft. Strong, but not stiff. Flexible yet unyielding.A black band as close to me as any garment, but with responsibility other outerwear simply does not match. And the design. Did you ever think a "belt" could have such a design which makes absolute sense, which breaks convention yet does its work better then any I have seen? The Trainer is an elevated and essential garment. Not just a simple strap of nylon. Not just a men's "accessory."No, this is not just a four letter word starting with "B". This is my Trainer. My tireless supporter. My friend.
RaspundeJon M.,
This is a great belt at a great price. I think it's every bit as good as some of the higher priced competition. The ONLY beef I have is that this belt is not offered with the polymer insert reinforcement. You have to go to the Operator's belt for that, which is 1 3/4 wide and doesn't fit all pants.Make a 1 1/2 belt with a polymer insert and THAT will be the king of belts!
RaspundeCaptain D.,
This belt is exactly what it's labeled as! It is a great belt for working in the training division of any department. It's also one of the best off duty belts I have ever worn. It provides you with an extremely ridgid platform for both slide and paddle holsters. It actually feels like your duty gear, but way more comfortable. This belt is a must for anyone that carry a weapon 24/7!
RaspundeT L.,
The 1 1/2 belt was my fist 5.11 belt purchase. It is a great belt at a great price. The belt has retained a bit of rigidity so it still holds holsters and other items in place. Since I bought the 1 3/4 it has become my day to day belt and has held up for years.
RaspundeMerlin,
I carry a firearm, multitool and cell phone on my belt and this product supports them well. Whether with jeans, shorts or khakis this belt looks professional. My only complaint is that the angled end of the belt began to fray shortly after I started wearing it. Still a great belt and a good value.
RaspundeInfected,
I have been going back and forth on what to do for a belt system for quite sometime. Ive thought about using a suspender setup with a padded belt, using just a regular web belt, but then I came across the 5.11 Tactical Training Belt. Then I received a little card in the mail from my local government. It was my firearms permit. Now I needed a belt that could bear the weight of a firearm on a daily basis, that could be worn without looking too conspicuous (like some sort of cowboy). Again, the 5.11 Tactical Training belt came to mind. This time I decided to give it a go.ConstructionThe 5.11 Tactical Training Belt is constructed of nylon, hook and loop material, and forged stainless steel. The hook and loop material is on par with what you see on most high quality tactical gear. The loop side is approximately 1_ wide and 11_ long. The hook side is approximately 1_ wide and 3_ long on my Large size belt. Overall the belt is mainly comprised of nylon and increases in thickness from the end of the belt to the buckle. From the loop side of the fastener, to just a few inches from the buckle, the nylon material is doubled. The last 4_ approaching the buckle is actually layered 4 times. The stitching appears tight with no fraying or loose ends, and is more than adequate at the buckle. The buckle itself is forged from a single piece of stainless steel, then coated in a black finish. The buckle has a retention system that grips the belt tighter as the pressure on the belt increases to help ensure the belt stays put. The corners are rounded off for added comfort.PerformanceI stated before that my reason behind buying this belt is due to my personal requirement now that I have a firearms permit. I needed a belt that could easily support the weight of a firearm on my side for several hours a day 7 days a week. In addition, I needed something that could handle the rough treatment that airsoft skirmishes can put it through.Using it as a daily carry belt, I found that it supports my firearm with no problems what so ever. There is little to no lean created by the weight of the firearm, and the belt does not sag at the holster. I did find that the belt sizes run a bit small (maybe I'm a size too big ;). The belt I have matches my pant size, but seems about a size too small. Due to this, the buckle can dig in a bit at the top corner when sitting. I would suggest trying the belt on before you buy if you can. The hook and loop fastener holds well and does not pose any problem. I appreciate the rounded edge at the end of the belt, as that helps thread it through belt loops.Using it in an airsoft environment seems to be equally as nice. It supports the weight of my drop leg holster with no problems, and again, it does not sag. Whether running, rolling about in the dirt, or sliding down hillsides, the belt holds its own and then some.ConclusionI found that this belt is a great choice for airsoft, and equally as nice for a daily carry belt for those with a firearms license. I applaud the quality of the construction, and the overall design. Simplicity is sometimes the best solution. I would like to see the sizing reviewed, as I wish I had one size larger. The only other drawback is the sharp corners that can dig in when sitting for extended time periods. Overall, I highly recommend this belt, but do suggest that you try it on before you buy it to decide if its right for you, and what size is best for you.
RaspundeJym,
I love this belt. I now have one for work, and play. I highly recommend it.
RaspundeJoe,
Excellent and sturdy belt. Works great for a concealed pistol. I had to return for a larger size. My pants are a 34", but I needed the 36" belt. Company had no problems with the exchange. Easy Day.
RaspundeTk,
Nice belt! Looking forward to testing it out this summer hiking and skiing this winter.
RaspundeJjmd,
I wear the leather belt at work and it is great, but this belt in my jeans and hiking shorts is great also. No sagging with either a IWB or OWB holster and my Lightweight Colt Commander. Holds up my pants well also!Would recommend if you need good support. Has been wet innumerable times and still looks like new.
RaspundeHoot,
I've owned this belt for a year now and I've got to say it is the best belt I've ever owned. This belt is part of my wardrobe for everyday work and looks good enough to wear with my suits to church. I carry concealed with a IWB holster and it supports my pistol exceptionally well. It doesn't stretch even after being soaked repeatedly. It has enough stiffnes because of the cordura that it doesn't try to roll out.I despise leather belts because they stretch over time and especially after being wet. I am in the process of ordering another black belt and a tan belt for wearing with khaki pants. I would highly recommend this belt for everyday wear whether you carry or not. Thanks 5.11 for a great belt.
RaspundeHawkeye,
This belt is one of the best going on today. It has the perfect stiffness so if you are carrying OWB your holster will not sag. If you are carrying IWB you will be able to adjust the belt without having to make an extra hole. You can make it the exact length you need. I don't know why I have not purchased one before. GREAT BELT!
RaspundeScott,
I bought this belt on a whim while at my local 5.11 dealer. And it turned out to be good for what I needed it for. [$] is a great price for a belt that can support a gun. It is not the end-all of belts but it is sharp looking and does its job (keeping up your pants) well. The only wear that I have experienced on the last 5 months is where my Fobus paddle holster rests and on the very tip of the belt. This is expected though because anywere a nylon belt has constant contact will break down after continued use. Good color selection 5.11, as always keep up the good work.
RaspundeGreg,
I am a fairly new CC person...I have a "Super Tuck" type holster and needed something to support the gun and the holster...the trainer is PERFECT! I am not in law enforcement or anything like that...just your average run of the mill bbq pitmaster that likes to have some quality stuff...and this belt not only performs in CC areas...it is a great belt all by itself...I really like the Velcro closure...really makes the lines nice! Garb one for yourself...hell, grab two!
RaspundeSheepdog,
This belt is extremely strong, sturdy, and durable; it screams quality as well as high value. The 5.11 Tactical Trainer Belt in an ideal choice for both business and pleasure alike; it can support a lot of weight and is the perfect thickness for casual clothing (CCW) where one can never be too sure if an operator-sized (1.75") belt may literally and figuratively, "fit the bill".Overall, it's a well designed product that I am very happy with.
RaspundeBeretta B.,
I don't like belts. I haven't worn a belt in years, but I occasionally need one for concealed carry. This one is great, much better than expected. Made well, comfortable. I could not have made a better choice.
