I really like this Pouch, Ive been searching for a while for the perfect IFAK pouch, that can hold the most essential blow out kit, with easy access and versatile mounting options. This fits the bill perfectly! I have a SOF tourniquet and 5 1/2 in. Medical scissors on the outside and inside 2 chest seals, 1 NPA, 1 Israeli Bandage 6in, 1 Quickclot combat gauze, 1 decompression needle, 2 pairs of nitrile gloves and there is still a little room for either more gloves, or with a little finesse a NAR 4in x 4yard compressed gauze. With all that the tourniquet is held snug by the band of the pouch, no worries it would fall out and it deploys super fast, as it doesnt need any additional rubber band to hold it together and once removed will open automatically (same for the Cat Tourniquet (just a smidge tighter and the kit becomes a little bigger then with the SOF . But the pouch needs to be full or the tourniquetquet loop might not be tight enough.
I Have stuff in there that will save my life so i want people to see it. Ive tried painting coyote admin pouches before and it just doesnt cut it. I have one on my line bag and everyone tells me its not visible enough. I would appreciate a response via email at some point if possible. Thank you
Nice small pouch the flashlight pocket on the side is good only for a AAA penlight or similar. The elastic band on other side will keep a tourniquet held securely. If you are going to carry shears inside the pouch, youll need a short, stubby pair. The attachment on back is a mini-molle double strap? Ill need to play around with it to see how I can make it work
Amazing little pouch! Perfect size to fit any go-bag but still big enough to fit all the essentials. I use this in pair with the 5.11 push pack and it fits great in there without taking up the entire bag. Im able to fit multiple packs of gauze, medical tape, first aid medicine (i.e. pain killers, burn cream etc.), bandaids (always have bandaids!), trauma sheers, and a tourniquet. Unfortunately not able to fit an Israeli bandage.
Definitely 511 quality. But in my humblest opinion its just a bit too small. I managed to fit an Israeli bandage, chest seals, Celox combat gauze, Celox plunger, and an emergency blanket in the pouch and that was very tight. Tourniquet and trauma shears on the side.
This is the first flex pouch I've purchased and first 5.11 pouch I've purchased in quite some time so I'll address general design/construction first and then the specifics of this pouch. I like the idea of being able to attach the pouch via MOLLE or hook and loop but would like to see the options integrated. Utilizing adapters creates added bulk between the pouch and mounting surface which inevitably results in sagging of the pouch. Construction wise, the use of external seam edging is pretty seriously dated and the webbing used is a very loose weave (cheap) so it's more likely to snag on brush, etc. That said, the overall construction appears solid and I haven't had a 5.11 pouch fail me in the past.nnI picked this pouch up to use as a general purpose pouch as I am a fan of tear away first aid pouches. The wide opening looked promising but I'd like to see it extended to the outer edges of the pouch, possibly moving the zippers to the sides rather than on top. This would provide not only a wider opening and less snags when removing items but would allow the top panel to open more reliably. A strip of elastic around the inside of the pouch for organization would also be appreciated. The use of elastic along the left side of the pouch is a neat feature especially since it should be protected by a TQ under the external loop. Speaking of that loop, it's pretty anemic to be the only thing holding a TQ on to the OUTSIDE of a pouch. Either significantly wider elastic or two loops would be much more confidence inspiring. The shears pouch on the other side is nice but I'd like to see a wider piece of webbing used to cover the shears like a flap for protection since they're rather exposed.nnAll in all, this is not a bad idea for a pouch - in fact I think it has a ton of potential! Some updated materials (less water absorption, more durable), construction methods (integrated flex mounting solution and internal seams) and slight tweaks would really square this pouch away.
I got the Flex med pouch because I wanted to consolidate and condense my med kit it's easier that way the Flex med kit is perfect for me to have what I need in the right place.
Ted A.,
Great pouch to put on the side of the pack.
