I bought it mostly so it would carry my son's stuffed tiger during my trips to Japan. Until then, I've been using it as a small range bag. Was able to stash 3 pistols (using thin cases from a larger range bag) 6 magazines, eyes/ears, and approx. 200 rnds. All in all, it works great. And the tiger totally fits.

Upgraded from the MOAB 6- I use it a as gym bag for my lifting belt, sleeves & wraps etc. MOAB 8 Front pocket design is a fail IMO. Its like looking for lost treasure always at the bottom of bag for my phones, keys, EDCs', annoyingly having to open the entire front pocket to get them out. But carrying everything else is great

Hello, I'm writing a 2-year review on the MOAB 8 sling bag. I purchased my sling bag in August 2024 and have used it extensively for daily carry and traveling. n[Character limit is 1000, can't add full review] nTL;DR: If you're going to purchase this bag, keep in mind its weight as well as its center of gravity on your body. Consider adding more padding to the backpack strap, as well as a second stabilization strap. The bag is capable, but leaves you wanting. Be prepared to spend more money than the listing price, purchasing attachments to make the bag more comfortable

My major issue with the bag is the shoulder strap is too short. One cannot comfortably wear a Sling Bag if it is too tight across the body.

I have several of these now, 1 for my car, 1 for my truck and they're perfect for get-home emergency bags! I also use one sometimes as a personal item bag for air travel, I can get a lot of bang for the buck when combined with my Rush 24.

I had the MOAB 10 but it was still a little too big for primary EDC for me and I didn't like the phone pocket on the sling.nnThis new MOAB 8 is there perfect size. I was still able to pack it with all my stuff I want to carry daily without being too bulky or heavy. The single strap is nice and comfortable. Got it in Double Tab color to match my RUSH 12 backpack. Very happy with the product.

REALLY heavy for such a small sling bag. None of my others are so heavy empty. Also, SIGNIFICANTLY darker than the pics provided, whihc was a bug since I was looking for a certain color. Would be cool if they showed ALL the bags in REAL photos. Anddddd The zippers drag. Looks like some wonky stitching and so they don't zip as cleanly or seamlessly as htey should. Haven't decided to keep it or not. It's always a drag when they show up funky.

Found the Moab 8 just recently. Thought I had them all. I love the Moab6 perfect for small trips, love the Moab6 10 great for longer jaunts. But the Moab8 is phenomenal for the in between stuff. I'm a drone/UAS pilot, alot of times I need to carry extra stuff with me, the Moab8 is perfect for carrying these items with me in the field. It still has all the functionality of both the smaller 6 and larger 10, as well as the switchable side strap and EDC pocket for those of us doing off body carry, it also maintains the hydration pack pocket capability.nOverall 10/10nnGreat find for $90

I got this about a month ago, the large pocket can hold a full size iPad in a case with a keypad. I holds all of my daily stuff and even has a pocket for concealed carry! Its small and easy to handle.

This is a ok for a S&W M&P FPC w/o a muzzle device or butt pad. Too short if you do. The next size will work for a FPC with those enhancements.

This is a very versatile and impressively constructed bag/pack.nnIt's perfect if you're looking for something that's just a little bit smaller than a backpack but it's bigger than most of the Cinch bags or the crossbody bags that are currently available.nnI like the several zippered pockets throughout the bag.nnI only really have two complaints about it: one the zippers are stiff and hard to get to move at times especially when you're going around the top corners and then down or up. Two I wish the strap on the back was a little bit longer because I don't have a whole lot of length left with it as i wear it. it's kind of snug to my back.nnOtherwise a very visually striking and multi purpose bag!

I had hoped this would be a slightly larger version of my old Moab6. (My go too everything bag. ) It is not. Though like most 5. 11 products it is very well made.nI am 6'-2" 185. Worn on the front the Moab8 rides too high to be a comfortable conceal carry bag.nIf worn on the back it's just damned uncomfortable. The strap must be readjusted with each position and I can only image that the strap is far too short for larger people. Also, the hard plastic, non-removable, non-conforming board insert is entirely unnecessary.

First off great quality and sizeBut, doesnt meet my intended use. With the amount of space provided, which is a lot, there are limited organizational features that I prefer. Lastly, the CCW compartment is too deep, would love to see the depth reduced by half for quicker access.

RUSH:registered: MOAB:tm: 8 SLING PACK 13LnnI wanted to give this pack a solid 5-start rating, but there are some shortcomings that cannot be overlooked.nnConstruction and MaterialsnnThe pack is solid. The construction is top notch and the materials ready for heavy usage. Zippers are great, and the pulls attached to them are great. The plastic buckles and strap management are also great. However, the bag is very tight. I assume that some of this will resolve when the bag is fully broken in, but a brand-new bag will feel very tight in its construction. This tightness will make it hard to get the zippers around the corners of the bag causing you to fuss with the zipper covers to fully zip the bag.nnInteriornnThe front compartment has a zippered mesh pouch inside and several other pockets for small items. There is some additional space in the front pocket for small items that may not fit in any of the organizers, but not much. The zippered front unzips all the way down both sides but does not fully flip open.nnThe middle compartment has a good amount of free space on the inside, and it also has a mesh pocket with zippers on both sides. Inside of this mesh pocket is a single molle strip running down the middle. The mesh pocket doesnt really expand all that much, and I am having a tough time figuring out what to use it for. Great buy! I got this for an additional EDC bag and I really like it. The hidden Velcro pistol pocket is very deep and has additional Velcro inside that I fixed a light holster to, which keeps my pistol in place. The bag is comfortable and has lots of pockets. This is my 4th bag from 5. 11.

This is the perfect size sling for EDC, but if you put much of anything in the Admin. front section it renders the CCW compartment almost useless. Way to tight to get your firearm in and out easily. I would have rather seen it in the back where the water bladder goes vs. front of the sling. I have to believe a lot of people buy this for CCW and not the water bladder capability.

I think this bag could be improved upon and make it the perfect sling bag. As always, this bag has plenty of organization capabilities. The pockets are good and very well made. My only complaints are this: the conceal carry compartment is too tight. When the pistol is put in you cannot easily access it. Also the sling strap is not in a good location. The bag will not stay on your shoulder unless it is almost empty. If you wear it over your head it doesnt sit well. The bag rides too low on your back. I am a long time user of 5. 11 and hope they can improve on this bag.

I need an upgrade on my daily EDC bag which was a regular backpack. I have the 5. 11 Tactical 55L Backpack but of course thats to big. nnI looked at the 24L Woodland backpack but will probably pick it up later and so I went with the Moab 8 Sling pack. nnIts durable multi compartment was just what I needed for books in the large compartment and admin for the front. nnI especially love the secret compartment which can be used for ccw (hook holster not included). nnAt the very back is a long oval shaped compartment for a water system which I currently use for my iPhone and storage for small items. nnI do plan to integrate the 5. 11 tactical flex medium GP pouch on the front Molle system but ready access to business card, iPhones etc. as well as a 5. 11 tactical H2O water bottle pouch (32oz. ) on the side because I carry a lot of water daily.

I bought a single strap with an optional send cross strap years ago that I keep first responder medical stuff in- I like it except it was made cheaply and shows wear spots despite limited use. I decided I wanted a single strap EDC bag that wasn't too big or too small, one that wasn't dark, that was well made. This was as close as I got to what I imagined.nnThe good and the bad: nnIt's a single strap, not thick enough to feel comfortable when it's loaded down, and doesn't have a second bottom strap to keep it from flopping around. As I bought it as an EDC, it works okay but if definitely limited and without that bottom cross strap will flop around when I ride my motorcycle. So there's two strikes against it for anything more than light use.nnThe bag is made of sturdy material, looks well stitched and I'm guessing with light use will wear indefinitely. The inside pockets are a little flimsy and could be better designed but are adequate. The glasses compartment is probably the most unlikely most liked feature as access is very good and I have no complaints with that. But won't fit a set of ski googles if you're looking for that.nnOverall, it is good bag as a man purse, it's biggest drawback is comfort when it's loaded up (and it doesn't take much weight to reach that point). It has a CCW pocket that you would want to stick a Velcro holster in as the pocket is plenty deep. The inside could have been better designed to hold individual pouches, like a small medical kit, goggles, tools, etc. , and a few more outside pockets would made it a little nicer. I gave the bag a good rating primarily for it's quality of materials and construction, but had to ding it for some fundamentals that would have been easy to correct. I looked at a number of bags and this was as close as I could find to what I wanted.

This pack is a great solution for all your EDC gear. The conceal carry pocket is easy to access and yet secure. I use this to carry my gun and ammo and other EDC gear when I travel in the car. This is a great solution to make sure you never accidentally put a gun in your bags you fly with. I do wish they would make a dedicated version for right hand or left hand because the ambidextrous layout leaves something to be desired as far as ergonomics in the way the strap lays against your shoulder/trapezius area

Ive gotta say even though I pointed out some cons I am happy with this product. I would recommend this bag for a on the go, snug, lightweight grab n go back.nnPros: n1.Great craftsmanship & extremely durable. n2. Has just the right amount of compartments.n3. Fits comfortably.n4. Easy access to eye glasses is perfect, plus has a soft material to minimize scratching the lenses.nnCons:n1. A bit pricey.n2. The CCW pocket goes full length to the bottom of the bag. I wish it had a nylon clip or some sort of way for a holster to attach to it.n3. No place for extra clips.n4. The front compartments need a bit more ability to thicken.n5. I wish the shoulder strap was maybe 1-2 more inches longer.n6. Would be nice if it had an easy access for keys n cell phones.

A little more roomy and comfortable than the MOAB 6 sling, but I miss that small front/outer pouch on the 6 and 10. Gray color not as "tactical" as black, OD green or desert tan. Would have really liked a navy blue option like offered on some other 5.11 bags/packs.

Great small/medium size pack for a patrol officer. Fits all the necessities that you could possibly need if you need to spend an extended period of time away from the cruiser. Material is quality, it doesnt feel like cheap gear you can get on Amazon. Plenty of compartments inside for stowing small items such as spare batteries and whatever you may need for a shift

Bought this bag as an everyday bag. It has worked great holding all of the things I need with with me Daily. My only complaint is that the zippers seem to be a little stiff but I attribute this the bag being new and needing time to break in. I usually keep my iPad, a lite jacket, a water bottle, and other everyday basics with me in this bag and it all fits well

I bought this pack and noted that it says the tier system is NOT included (sold separately); however, the pack did in fact come with a tier system strap set inside. Not a bad thing, but something to note before buying an extra tier system set. Overall all pleased with the bag.

This sling pack is honestly the exact size I was looking for to be my work/hiking/day use bag. I love the padded sunglass pouch, the two zipper compartments with the generously long zippers, and the hidden EDC compartment in between them. I dont use the hydration sleeve and honestly I could do without it, but I guess it will be useful to someone. Im not going to take away a star for personal preference.

Finally, a new MOAB pack that would make up for the shortfalls of the 2 previous MOAB packs.nThe 3 full size compartments make it very easy to fill most small to medium size objects. Ideal for attachment to any of the Rush Backpacks.nHowever, any amount ofnweight will quickly bite down on Your shoulder. Being a sling pack the configuration will not let the pack ride square against Your back, making any weight uncomfortable. Here itself is where I believe 5.11 made a mistake.nThis should of been a backpack, ( 2 ) straps.nI'm able to fit a laptop, a tablet, a cellphone, a tin lunchbox with the correspondent power cords, a few manila envelopes full of paperwork, 2 32oz water bottles as well as My EDC.nAs a Gym pack, I'm able to put a pair of 5.11 size 12 Ranger tennis shoes, a sweatshirt, sweatpants, T-shirt, small towell & a pair of gloves.nI had purchased an extra Rush 12 for miscellaneous use so I took measurements & was able to transplant the yoke & straps directly from thenRush 12 onto the Rush 8 making it a backpack. It sucks that I had to ruin a brand new Rush 12, but I don't regret it if it gave Me what I ultimately wanted & needed.

I love the pack itself - without question my new favorite pack. So much space for my MS Surface, along with surprisingly deep enough for a thin 3 ring binder and some other literature i carry, then my safety vest, goggles, ear protection and i also have various tools that i pack in here as well. plus the exterior rigging which allows me to hook carribiners and then clip on keys and some other small tools... i mean this pack is phenom! the only thing i would say is the negative isn't with the pack itself. i had bought this pack with 10% off and then like a week later - they ran a 20% off site wide sale, and i had asked at the store when i was in buying pants and shirts if they planned on doing that and they told me no not for some time. other than that... my favorite place to shop.

Great sized bag, there is a lot of space on the inside that could have been taken advantage of. For example, all the other Rush bags have pockets in the inside of the front compartment. For some reason this bag does not.

The one thing Im wishing it had is an offset strap on top that you could switch for shoulder preference. I think it would make it that little bit better and get my full 5 stars. The centered design on top works, dont get me wrong but could be a touch more comfortable with this change. Other than that. Great bag, nice organization options and plenty of spots for molle additions.
