Title says it all. I did 12 years in the military, and have spent good money on many tactical backpacks. nnWith first time use, it proved to be the best bag I’ve ever had. No other backpack provides this level of organization. The exterior is tough and the interior is soft and perfect for carrying a laptop and anything else you want. The aggressive shoulder straps are great for slinging over one shoulder or both.
RaspundeJulie,
Durable with many zippers and organizing pockets inside. Straps are thick and sturdy to carry as a ruck sack or holding all of your daily adventure or work needs.

Compartments are adequate. Straps a little less so especially the chest strap which seems place wrong. But I do carry it daily. So we’ll see long term.
RaspundeThomas V.,
The materials and construction are great of daily use. The only thing I have an issue with is that the port for the hydration tube is on the WRONG side of the top pouch. The tube runs UNDER the pouch, making it practically useless. This is SCREAMING for a redesign.
RaspundeJoe A.,
This is my second 5.11 backpack. The first I bought over 10 years ago and used it for my work pack but it started to show its age so I ordered this one and it will last just as long I'm sure. I'll use my old one for a hunting backpack as it's still good to go.
RaspundeDavid B.,
Great for essential carry items and flexible for different situations.
RaspundeJames S.,
Very well made, but a little smaller than I needed. Exchanged for next size up with no issues. Very happy with this product.

This pack is amazing. It’s made very well and has plenty of accessory pockets. I was very hesitant about buying it and have been looking at it for over a year before finally pulling the trigger on buying it. Not disappointed at all. Great for edc. If your looking buy it you won’t regret it
RaspundeSierra,
Even fully loaded, this backpack is comfortable to wear and very well made. The material feels durable but also cleans easily, which is great for everyday use. The fit is excellent, and because the cross chest strap is adjustable, it works especially well for women and different body types. Overall, I’m really happy with the quality, comfort, and fit of this pack.
RaspundeDavid M.,
I've been buying 5.11 bags for quiet sometime. This bag is to replace a less than one year old bag RUSH 12 2.0 Backpack 24L. Bought for my son who used it daily and it literally feel apart at the shoulder seam. Make me very leery of committing anymore to 5.11 if this continues, lots of other places to choose from and shoddy work is a major error.

Everything about the pack is great except on one of the shoulder straps the stitching is already coming loose. It’s only been on two flights so I'm definitely disappointed.

I been using for Gym/jiujitsu bag nPlenty pockets for all the jiujitsu tape and the only downside it dont come with a water bottle attachment.
RaspundeLauren,
This pack works perfectly for daily use at both my 12 hour shifts at the hospital as well as for 24 hour shifts as a flight nurse. The material is rather stiff at first, but I washed it in the washing machine and that helped to soften it up a bit. It is well constructed, durable, has plenty of pockets, and is overall a very functional and well thought-out pack.nnI do have a couple of improvement suggestions:n1. The laptop sleeve - The existing sleeve is inside the main compartment, which makes accessing your laptop difficult when the pack is full. Having a separate zipper sleeve in between the hydration pouch and the main compartment would help with this. n2. I would LOVE to see 5.11 come out with some more colors for the ladies, such as a cream/off white or a dusty rose. There is a whole demographic of women out there who love the functionality of 5.11 packs, but who would also like some variety in colors. n3. A water bottle pouch

Another incredible bag purchase from 5.11. nI think I have 10 now!
RaspundeSokratia B.,
Best pack I've had it's able to fit all the things I need for a shift
RaspundeWilliam O.,
Overall, a nice pack.nNot fond of the velcro in the concealed pocket though. I feel like this could be improved. Mine keeps popping open.....easily.nIt might stay hooked if you aren't completely filling your pack, like I do.
RaspundeMaverick A.,
The best molle backpack i had buy until now, definitely only using 511 bags in the future, i used as a daily bag for an offce job
RaspundeAdrian W.,
Good quality small sized backpack. Love the 511 backpacks.
RaspundeRaymon H.,
This bag is sturdy and fits below all commercial airline seats so far. I wish it had a detachable, padded waist belt so I could use it as a daypack on hunts; alas, I've had to check another, smaller pack.
RaspundeJoseph H.,
This bag is awesome the greatness of this bag is tremendously overwhelming
RaspundeAlexander M.,
It looks really good. And the backpack is super tough. I like all the customization with the MOLLE webbing, but it can be a bit difficult to attach stuff. One minor con is that it is a gigantic pet hair collector. Otherwise its a great budget pack!
RaspundeGene C.,
I've had the Rush 72 for many years and I love it, except it's a little big for just a day trip out and about. Recently got the Rush 12 2. 0 and it is absolutely perfect for EDC. It is with me everywhere I go. Plenty of room and a great quality product. If you're on the fence, just do it. You won't be disappointed.
RaspundeBrad L.,
In keeping with 5. 11s theme of always be ready, I thought I would add a couple more things to the list you should be ready for. First, the laptop sleeve. Always be ready to unpack part of the main compartment just to get to your laptop. Located at the back of the main compartment with no other access, be ready for the task of at least partially unpacking some items, especially if it is completely full. Second, the top exterior pocket. Always be ready to figure out exactly what youre going to be able to use these two little pockets for. Instead of a handy 9x6 pouch with one top zipper, theyve cut it in half vertically and created two small pouches. Exactly why this is an innovation is hard to say, especially since they are too small to be of much practical use. Always be ready to ask yourself why cheapen up a $100+ backpack with the annoyance of Velcro. These innovations are what my grandfather would call handy as a hip pocket on a sock.
Theyre usable, but not very handy. This Rush 24 backpack is built sturdy. Thats something you can generally count on from 5. 11. I really want to like this backpack a lot. But with the plethora of tactical backpacks on the market, these innovations put it toward the middle of my list.

Sam,
Ordered the color of bag I wanted online since it wasn't available in store and was incredibly disappointed to find both the sunglasses pocket zipper and the armor plate pocket zipper did not move or function at all. Both zippers completely separated and broke the zip making the pockets both worse than useless. Buy something better from somewhere else or test your luck I guess. . .
RaspundeDanny Q.,
High quality, sturdy, durable in any environment but still comfortable for all day use thanks to the well designed straps.

I have the Rush 24 and it was a little large for my everyday carry. The Rush 12 has been just the ticket. If you want something that is high quality to last you awhile, this is the pack to get.
RaspundeRyan D.,
My Son started Grade 1 with his 5. 11 Rush 12, and today he started Grade 12 with the SAME BAG! And it still looks great. It has been an EDC for a growing kid for 11 years. Cant say enough good things about it
RaspundeMatej,
I got one im pleased with it.nOnly small improvement can be adjustable chest straps I would like lower mine.
RaspundePhillip C.,
Im a fixed wing Medevac and charter pilot and use this bag daily. Its not too big or too small. I keep my 2 FliPads, Bose A20 aviation headset, a 13 MacBook Pro, logbook, a set of clothes and toiletries for unexpected overnights, rain jacket, wallet, keys, device cables, a battery Velcroed on the outside, and more. Theres still room for more. You can tighten the straps to make it more low profile to stash in tight spaces. I also have a flashlight and back scratcher that I put through the loops on the bags exterior. Theres a pocket for everything. It fits well enough between the cockpit and walkway in the PC-12. I have a 27L too but find its a bit too big for the plane I fly.

Steve,
Bought this pack a year ago and since then I've put it through some trials. Nothing crazy like jumping out of airplanes but everyday activities (running around town, day hikes, bbq at the park, lake time, gun range practice, etc). I have also taken it on longer adventures involving extended travel, hunting trips, etc.nnThe pack can certainly take a beating but I expected that from a 511 product, It's comfortable to wear regardless of the weight. But the surprise to me is that this pack plays long. For a 24L it is remarkably well organized. My firsts impression was hmmmm not bad, but now with experience under my belt I really like the compartments and organizational design. A lot of thought went into this pack.nnAnd did I mention it was rugged? The material is very durable and the stitching is excellent. The zippers work flawlessly without needing to baby them along.
RaspundeDavid L.,
I really like this new back. Laptop compartment being raised off the bottom of the backpack adds a lot more protection and love the new color!
RaspundeElizabeth B.,
This is an excellent backpack! I love the color, but the strap and harness system and the durability are what really makes it great.
RaspundeNik A.,
18 months ago I needed a new backpack to keep my laptop safe along with all my daily essentials for work. I went to multiple stores in person, browsed recommended packs on reddit/Google, and read countless Amazon reviews, but never found anything that met my minimum criteria. I spent probably 16 hours trying to find the right backpack, since I knew if I found a nice one I would probably be using it for the next 10-15 years. I was looking for a medium-sized "techy" backpack, but every one that I looked at had some sort of major flaw. Most of them looked cheaply made, lacked internal organization/structure, and/or were too expensive ($150+). nnThat was until I found the 5. 11 Rush 12. Not only does it have all the pockets, organization, etc. to meet my organizational needs, but so far it has proven to be quite durable, and has many features that were not even on my list. I bring my backpack with me nearly everywhere I go, and sometimes that means skateboarding through the rain, hiking for hours in the sun, or inter-state travel, and it has worked perfectly for all of these cases. I have never had an issue with using it as a "Personal Item" on plane trips. It is also waterproof, which is nice when I have to walk or hike in the rain, and the conceal carry pouch is a very nice cherry on top. nnMy only complaint about the backpack is that it looks very military/tactical, but that's a small complaint. If 5. 11 made a more techy-looking version I probably would have bought the more military style one just to have the MOLLE straps. I haven't used MOLLE a ton (mostly for patches and the water bottle holder), but when you need modularity there is just nothing better.nn5/5 stars
RaspundeJonathon S.,
100% amazing backpack, I take it everywhere I go and I take it to work, carries all the things I need. thank you 5. 11
RaspundeWes T.,
Tons of compartments and pockets. nQuality is good nnThe conceal carry pouch is what puts this bag above all others. There are tons of nice backpacks but not many with that feature
RaspundeEric C.,
This and the Rush 24 are the most comfortable backpacks I own. 5. 11 made a great quality product.
RaspundeAnthony B.,
Have the larger pack but for everyday tasks it was a little big. Got this one and its perfect for the day today things I need to carry.
RaspundeFranco,
It's the perfect bag for daily use. Please make a Rush 24 where the hydration compartment gets replaced with a dedicated Laptop compartment.nHaving a Laptop compartment that is directly accessible by its own zippers will make it the ultimate bag.
RaspundeEric M.,
I purchased this backpack in kangaroo color, but on arrival I noticed the color is darker than pictured Its almost more chocolatey than tan . I think the quality of the bag is really good though with a lot of customization opportunity due to the Molle system, but I was just a little let down with the final appearance It almost felt like I received the wrong color at first but I know thats not the case. Just be weary if you do go with the kangaroo option it isnt exactly as pictured.
Raspundemhkpilot,
Im a corporate jet pilot and, like many others, use a backpack as a dedicated work bag.
Something to hold our documents, charts, iPad, charging cables, a jacket, etc. This Rush 24 is a great option and Ill go over pros and cons. PROS. It holds its shape and is made of a durable exterior material. The stitching seems tough and the zippers are beefy. Fits perfectly under an airline seat even when full. Its got a lot of interior pockets for organization. Has an interior padded sleeve for a larger laptop, has a quick access thin pocket right behind the back pad to stuff an iPad in, and the sunglasses pocket on top is also great for pens, breath mints or a wallet; easy and quick access. The MOLLE loops make customization easy. I have 2 hook and loop straps that can hold a jacket when I have no more interior space. CONS. I find the shoulder straps difficult to adjust. The cross-chest straps height is non-adjustable: its sewn in place and if youre wearing the pack loosely/casually you will either need to buckle it across your neck or let them dangle and flop around. There are a lot of interior pockets that are difficult to access if your pack is full. MOLLE attachments are expensive add ons, I wanted the option to carry my Yeti water bottle and could only find 1 option at 5. 11 and it was for smaller bottles. Needed to get a snap link to keep the top secured to the pack. The back pad is thin and doesnt allow airflow for your back to breathe. WHAT IT COULD USE. Although the material is durable, a reinforced bottom panel that was of a non-stainable material would be a nice addition. A ventilated back support would be great, and an additional exterior pocket on one or both sides would be great.

Its got plenty of storage for all of my everyday needs at my office! It feels great to carry and handle! Organization makes it a lot simpler
RaspundeJim K.,
Ok, I just got the bag. At first glance I thought it would be too small. I started playing with the straps and realized that I could lower the sternum strap. Im 62 230# and I think I can make this work. It looks better with stuff actually in it, instead of looking at it flat on my back.nYou cant really go wrong with 511 gear. Top notch in my opinion. Im sure this pack will last for years to come.
RaspundeShawn C.,
So I decided to pick up one of these and Im very happy with the bag the straps are thick padding and contoured around your neck it makes this bag handle weight better than my previous bag the pockets and dividers are great in the front pouch plenty of them and good variation of sizes the main compartment is large enough for a good amount of gear for my hiking trips I understand what this bag is geared towards but I wish the lab top holder area was better suited to hold a hydration bladder if desired instead of the pocket right against your back also the stiffener in that pouch really helps keep the bag from sagging or anything the material is very tough and durable all in all I have to say some may say this bag is on the pricey side which compared to all the cheaply made bags out there ok but you definitely get what you pay for in the rush series bags
RaspundeMichael,
This is a great pack in every respect: rough, compact, many compartments, hydration system.nThere are two minor flaws with the hydration system though: first, the bladder pocket is external (at the back) and by bladder (3L Camelbak) gets squeezed somehow after drinking 1L, so that the water does not flow. Only lifting the pack off my back enables the water to flow. Maybe the original bladder doesn't have this issue. The second issue is that the second loop for the bladder's tube is way low on the shoulder strap - cannot pull the mouthpiece to my mouth. It is probably designed for a longer tube.
RaspundeH. R.,
I have owned several 511 products over the years but never a backpack. I tend to buy backpacks from more niche tactical brands that specialize in bags etc. However the Rush 12 2.0 caught my eye recently so I purchased it online without any idea what to expect.nI am very impressed both with the quality of materials and the overall look and feel the bag. It measures up with any of the well known tactical brands and even surpasses them inn some ways. The new color choices are also very nice looking .nJust what I needed. Very happy with my purchase.
RaspundeNicholas C.,
good stitching nice pocket layout good zipper pulls should last a long time
RaspundeCHRISTOPHER M.,
Awesome backpack, wish it had a loop on the side stitching for my streamlight flashlight but nothing bad to say about the bag. Would like to try out the sling.
RaspundeNicole M.,
I love the bag, but it would be perfect if it had a holder for a water bottle
RaspundeZach K.,
First one lasted 15 years, so I bought a second one in kangaroo. My first pack is still going strong and I am pretty rough on it. Amazing durability.
RaspundePB W.,
I have used the same Rush 12 since 2012. Ive used it in college, day hikes, hunting, as a patrol bag, gym bag, overnight bag, plane carry on, shooting bag, etc. Name it and I've probably used the bag for it. nnOnly thing broken is the two main zipper tabs I had to replace with paracord and the sternum strap buckle broke from being slammed by a car door. nnI cannot recommend this bag enough if needing a pack in this size range. If you don't overpack it, it is extremely comfortable and has already lasted me 12 years of continuous, nearly daily use.
RaspundeJaime j.,
The way the straps are designed are more ergonomic and I felt I can wear alot heavier load for longer periods than a traditional backpack. Also the extra pockets are a plus.
RaspundeTre J.,
Tried to make it work, but its entirely to smallI couldnt even get my iPad Pro to fit in the laptop compartment. BUT, good news is I received the 37L bag today, and its PERFECT!!
RaspundeRussell S.,
This is my second one of these Rush 12 packs. They are indestructible, and I am using them both for hiking and climbing activities.
RaspundeLavar,
Excellent bag, does everything you'd want a tac bag to do. My only gripe is that I ordered the black color and it holds lint like crazy. If I wear an orange shirt, guess what? There's orange lint on the bag. If i set my bag on the floor, guess what? There's carpet lint all on the bag. It's a great bag but maybe I should have gotten a different color
RaspundeJuan H.,
Very useful and definitely has more use than just a backpack! Thanks
RaspundeDave,
I'm using it as a small ruck sack, seems very well built at 1/3 price of gorucks packs. Fits gear fine and got it on sale. Super happy with purchase
RaspundeJosh,
My girlfriend was wearing it when we wreckecked on my motorcycle and it saved her from most of the roadrash and is still completely intact. Could not be happier with it
RaspundeMichael,
I absolutely love this pack! I've had it for years and the fact that there are molle attachment points all over the bag means that I can set it up to carry as much or as little as I need. I use it as a carry-on, work bag, and camping pack all just by changing out contents and attachments. It's held up every bit as well as my old ALICE pack and I expect to be carrying this one for years to come!
RaspundeJon P.,
Great pack for starters nd super durable. If you break this pack you need anger management.
RaspundeJohn Y.,
This is a very nice travel backpack. Solid construction should last a long time. Another great 5-11 product.

RaspundeChris M.,
I bought this from a local sports store in town before I left for Iraq for a good chunk of 2023. I weighed a lot of options in terms of what I needed to take and how I wanted to pack it. This pack was the perfect fit and held everything I needed and more. This made it through a nine month deployment with no issues. The size is the smallest of the Rush 2.0 series but I was still able two fit two laptops in it. I got back a couple of months ago and have since then worked on it to be a bugout bag. I still have some things I want to add to it but no matter what is in it, I love it.
RaspundeKevin D.,
Your rush backpacks and waist strap are some of the best built tactical backpacks Ive seen on the market. They are extremely well constructed, I have plenty of room to store your gear. Ive already purchased four of the packs and just purchased three of the waist belts to go with them. Keep manufacturing quality products like your company does
RaspundeJonathan W.,
The bag is a little restrictive and doesn't feel like high quality material. Good zippers and durable but I wouldn't wear it for any length of time and be comfortable
RaspundeMike K.,
Great bag, too small for my needs. Waiting on the $ return to card over 10 days now.
RaspundeLuke P.,
My old small pack was finally wearing out and this one more than fits the bill. Plenty of room for everything and then some. Love it, its comfortable, has dozens of pouches, pockets, it is very customizable for fit, Im just really impressed by it.
RaspundeRichard,
I do have one question for everyone. Will this bag be the right size for a "personal item" on an airplane? I plan on using this as a personal item along with a carry-on suitcase when traveling or maybe I need to get the MOAB 8?
RaspundeMike,
I got this backpack in black 10 years ago. It looks like its gotten a few updates in that time but has mostly remained the same. I added the water bottle holder to the side of mine, which I would recommend. I am planning to buy a more professional looking backpack for my new line of work, but this backpack has served me well for a long time and I'm only replacing to get a non-military/tactical looking bag. It has no flaws after daily use for all this time and I will continue using it as a backup bag. Highly recommend. Plenty of space and pockets for great organization
RaspundeGilberto H.,

RaspundeRick B.,
After just over two years of use, there are so many things I like about this backpack, but a few that I do not. The biggest issue is the lack of padding in the bottom of the main compartment and the extreme difficulty of getting a laptop into the laptop slot. And, unfortunately, the bottom has now has a slight tear that is worsening. I look forward to 3.0..hopefully they will focus more of laptop usage.

Perfect for my everyday use. Love it! Great quality and very comfortable straps
RaspundeHugo M.,
One thing I dont like is that the zippers arent safe enough for when you have to leave it out of your sight. nI rather have the metal kind with the small orifice so you can use a small padlock for safeguarding your personal stuff that would be 100% owe some
RaspundeThomas S.,
I really like this pack except for the stupid sunglasses pouch, that doesnt allow the laptop to fit, or easily access.
RaspundeScott,
Got my Rush 12 2.0 yesterday and was playing with the shoulder straps. This was just testing around the house and I didn't really do a lot to tune it in. These are my initial thoughts from wearing the pack. I had a 30 lb plate in the pack and found that it was really difficult to cinch up the shoulder straps when the pack was on. I really had to tug on each strap to get any movement (maybe the straps are stiff and not broken in?). The plate was in the laptop sleeve as this seemed the strongest and most secure spot but the plate seemed to float around a bit, more so front to back than side to side. That's the reason I have rated it an initial 3 stars. I'm hoping to give it a better trial after work today.
RaspundeDevlin G.,
This backpack is awesome and the perfect size for me. I use it mostly use it for school supplies for college but it can easily be used for anything out-doors especially with the molle webbing that I mounted the case for my sunglasses to and the spot for a water bladder. I 100% recommended it for a general purpose bag. As a plus, the ranger green color matches pretty well with multicam tropic
RaspundeCharles L.,
I like that pack labels attached to zippers identify what item the zippered section of the pack can properly accommodate.
RaspundeJeff H.,
Decent bag for day hikes. Holds water and protein and such so I don't, you know, die when I'm hiking in the desert. Facilitating not dying: 5 out of 5 stars; would not die again.
RaspundeRandall G.,
This pack replaces three other packs that I have because it can be easily reconfigured for hiking, tactical applications, and even cross country travel. Its still a little bit too bulky as a long distance trail running pack, although it is extremely lightweight and for a really long runs the the ability to integrate a water bladder could make this a winner. The concealed carry pocket is readily accessible and easily concealed and is the easiest snatch and grab of any pack I have used. Cant say enough good things about this product, including its workmanship and durability.
RaspundeFrancisco H.,
Great!! Ive use for trips, hikes and took it during fire fighting training.nIts confortable, light and I wont change it
RaspundeAdam B.,
Perfect! I recently used it on a trip to the mountains and it performed great. You can stuff so much into it and its tough as nails. I will primarily use it as an overnight/camping bag. I also own a rush 24 as a BOB.
RaspundeAnonymous,
I loved using this backpack for everyday stuff but after about two years of everyday use the zippers broke. Highly recommend this backpack, though

This is the third back pack that I purchase, I bought it as a gift for a nephew going to college, I know this back pack will last him a very long time.
RaspundeJohn C.,
I drive and operate heavy machinery for a living. Over 3 years Ive ended up carrying quite a few things to get my job done. Between an iPad, gloves, charging cables and food to keep me moving, I needed something besides a $30 bag. I tore through 2 of those in 8 months. This bag is the perfect size and finally a fantastic build quality to last many years.
RaspundeColin B.,
Very well made.nIf I was doing this over, I would get a little larger size.nGoing to be a little tough to get everything for a GOOD bag stashed in.nHaven't carried it far yet but the straps look comfortable.nIt's too small for a waist support strap.
RaspundeJimmy G.,
Super solid, feels much sturdier than my previous bag from a different company. So far so good.
RaspundeJose G.,
Great Pack!... So functional and well manufactured... Perfect size...
RaspundeHoward M.,
I bought a RUSH 12 2.0 to serve as a "going out bag" for a large laptop computer. I liked the appearance of the double tap color scheme and the descriptions and reviews said it would handle a 15 inch laptop. I'm still using an ASUS Q524U computer which is huge by current standards but it has lots of ports for USB sticks, disk drives, phone cords etc. I recently had a solid state drive and new battery installed and the old computer was better than new. The RUSH 12 holds the computer and all the doodads ( power cords, backup disk drives, mouse, thumb drives etc) needed to do stuff. The ASUS Q524U is the largest computer this bag will fit as it goes tightly into the sleeve and the bag barely closes over it. The fabric of the laptop sleeve may stretch a little with time. Again, I like the double tap scheme. I'm not carrying the bag as a survival bag but it does have room for a few EDC items in addition to the computer. I like the CCW pocket although I don't currently plan on its use - I prefer on body carry of such items. The admin pouch is a little small but I'm getting adjusted to it. I have not tested the hydration pocket as I can fit a 24 oz insulated Under Armour bottle with my computer stuff in the main compartment. The lid locks securely and ice water beats room temperature water. Having started using the bag the double tap scheme picks up some dirt and there may be color schemes that will show it less. So far I've been able to wipe dirt off the bag. I selected the RUSH 12 over the RUSH 24 to hold everything I needed and a little more. The RUSH 24 looks like a good bug out bag but more than I need on typical days. I'm happy with my purchase.
RaspundePhil P.,
The best pack ever! Ive owned a lot of back packs both big and small over many years and this the best designed and useful for my edc needs. Well made and filled with useful pockets and compartments. As an every day camera bag it holds everything i need and more.

Took it to Florida for vacation and it was perfect. From holding water for my camelback to holding the kids stuff. It went from the airport to the amusement park and even an airboat ride. It made packing for the days adventure easy. Cant wait to use it when we go camping. But even if you use it for a trip to Disney its way better then a regular pack.
RaspundeCody W.,
Great products, professional and friendly service!
RaspundeAlexander B.,
I got my bag right after boot camp to replace the shitty one they gave us. 10 years later this bag may not look new anymore. But I refuse to go anywhere with out it. I keep my 72hr in my truck. But my 12hr is my go to. I'm looking at getting the Moab 8, so I can detach a smaller hydration pack
RaspundeAustin M.,
I wanted a backpack that would last for years, and I think Ive found it. Ive only owned it for a couple weeks now, but I carry & use it every day. It works and feels extremely well made. The zippers are high quality, the nylon is great and seems to hold up to my daily uses very well. I work two jobs, and live out of my bag a lot of times, so it holds a lot of stuff. Yet its still comfortable for long term carry. 5/5 for me. Id buy another in a heart beat.
RaspundeMARK P.,
Perfect size. Made well. Piece of mind with the YKK zippers. Hopefully the last backpack I ever buy!
RaspundeCarlos S.,
Amazing backpack, is my regular travel bag, very well made, plenty off room, lots of compartments for organization and the bullet proof quality we knownI am very happy
RaspundeGarrett Y.,
Quality construction. I like all the compartments, very handy. Look forward to using this summer on day hikes.
RaspundeScott J.,
The bag is very well made. I use this for everything.. work, EDC, even going to the range. This is really worth the money. Plenty of space for what I need
Raspundeedenilson r.,
Its very versatile from military work to my job as a educator to just going for a hike. Its the best all rounder pack Ive ever had!
RaspundeKevin A.,
I have not had a 511 backpack since I was in the military .When I retired they made me turn it in it was the best day pack I have ever used. Iam sure I will use this bag as my new EDC.
RaspundeJames V.,
I love my new backpack. I use it for commuting to work. The quality is very good, as always with purchases from 511. The organizer section is setup so I no longer need a purse. Shipping and delivery where very prompt. I see many years of use ahead.
RaspundeScott C.,
Great bag good quality. Plenty of space for daily carry
RaspundeSean B.,
Very nice pack. I have a Rush 12 in Double Tap and wanted a second EDC to rotate to. The 2.0 seems slightly larger with stiffer nylon construction. This is overall a plus, but the empty pack does feel heavier. Id give 5 stars except for those @*%! compression straps. They are in a slightly different location, but still interfere with zipping open and close the main compartment. Really difficult to operate with one hand due to having to move the compression clip out of the way, no matter how secure you have it. Wish the clips could be hidden or secured out of the way better.
RaspundeJaime A.,
By far, best backpack Ive had. nThis is the second one I buy. nCamel color for me, and a black one for a birthday present. nTop notch quality, convenient design, lots of space, compartments well distributed. nIdeal size for everyday urban use. nIdeal for travels.
RaspundeMichael C.,
The quality on this is really second to none. Very functional, looks great and certainly feels constructed to last. It was the perfect size for my needs; ability to EDC but also big enough to travel for work etc. yet also not too big that it can double as an assault bag if needed. The small rush bag was too small for my needs
RaspundeSusie D.,
Comfortable padding. 5' 11", good fit for me. Seems durable.
RaspundeAaron H.,
The perfect pack for a day trip. Holds everything I need. Love the CCW pouch and the strong, quality clips/zippers. The material is very sturdy and I take this pack with me all the time. Nice and visible and the quality of the build is all the way there. Great job with this one 5.11. I'm a fan.
RaspundeJoseph J.,
Fantastic quality, well thought out design, pocket placement.and beautiful CCW hidden compartment.nGreat job Folks keep up the great work!
RaspundeRandi C.,
I actually bought this to replace my purse! It works so well!! There are plenty of places to put all of my things! I can find what I am looking for without a problem! I absolutely love it!! I actually have a larger version that stays in my truck as a first aid bag. I couldnt be more pleased with my purchase!!!
RaspundeBrian,
Great size, great number of pouches and pockets, the fit is amazing for all-day carry. I spent an entire week carrying this around Disney World, loaded down with all the things you can imagine: water, trinkets, charger packs for cell phones...you name it, if the kids and/or wife didn't want to carry it, it went in Dad's pack.... And it worked phenomenally!!! It sat perfectly with the varying amounts of weight, even mostly empty. By the end of the week I was more in love with it than when I started. There are a few pieces of velcro for attaching patches and such, and plenty of MOLLE attachments for anything you can think of.... tl;dr: Awesome backpack, you won't regret investing in this one!
RaspundeTimamu H.,
Purchased in time for a trip out of country and has enough pouches for everything including camera equipment.
Raspundeken s.,
Perfect travel size. Plenty of spaces without losing stuff.
RaspundeAustin B.,
This is my favorite bag so far for an EDC purpose bag. Its got plenty of space inside and lots of other storage pockets that make since, but dont get in the way.
RaspundeJake H.,
I was looking for a better quality built bag for remote work on the go. The rush12 turns out to be a solid construction with a raised laptop holder. The laptop holder is a tight fit for my 15.3" Lenovo, however is keeps it safe as the laptop rests 1 inch above ground.nnThe inside of the bag seems durable and the hidden compartments are a nice bonus.nnThe bag has a lot of features including the Molle attachments which when weaved right are a solid fit. They have a great selection of colors, the double tap color looks great.
RaspundeJohn W.,
Great bag. It is my second one and the quality is as good as my first from several years ago. I really like the addition of the CCW pouch.
RaspundePaul,
5.11 tactical almost got this pack right but apparently they don't wear this one much. If you are a very slim shouldered person this pack may fit. If you have any size to your shoulders, the sternum strap becomes a neck strap. I mean the strap catches you at the neck and chokes you, very uncomfortable. This pack could also use a waist strap to help keep it tight to your body when you are climbing. Other than those two major items the rest of the pack is great.
RaspundeJon I.,
I love this backpack. High quality materials. Built to last. It fits everything I need for the day or even for a weekend trip. I've owned a lot of backpacks including the rush 24 and 72 but this has to be my favorite. The size is perfect and the functionality is impressive. Get one.
RaspundeChris B.,
Seems like a great pack, but is small. Im sure it will fit everything needed for a day hike, and will fit a laptop fine. nWhen I put it on, my daughter asked me if I was going back to kindergarten. It really looks like a childs backpack on a large adult. Cant extend the straps much or the chest strap hits my neck. Will be returning for a larger one that will look less comical. Green color looks great though.
RaspundeMark N.,
This backpack is as good as it gets. Very high quality and durable . Perfect for my new job as a Deputy Sheriff cadet in my upcoming Academy . Next is the Mike Duffle.
RaspundeWilliam Y.,
Its a great backpack for my everyday used, fits all my stuff perfect.
Raspundederek t.,
Awesome build quality. Feels like it will last a long time. I have yet to go mountain biking but I have no doubts it be perform well.
RaspundeGary S.,
Built tuff, everything is top end. None better. Ergonomics for access are well planned. Wish it came with an around the waist strap.
RaspundeMatthew D.,
Great backpack. My only exception to that would be that it does not have the side net pouches for water bottles that previous versions had.
RaspundeSean B.,
Great backpack. nQuality materials and craftsmanship. Sturdy, comfortable, and cool.
RaspundeDouglas D.,
I was looking for a rugged, tactical backpack for a long time and I came across this one. I couldnt be happier
RaspundeBruce N.,
Its what I wanted but after having it for a few weeks its hard to open the zippers. nThe water flap that covers the zippers makes it difficult to open, find the zipper.
RaspundeJose P.,
Durable comfortable a lot of options for any patches or accessories best backpack I have purchased
RaspundeMark R.,
This pack is incredibly well made. I can jam so much in it, and hang stuff off it, its the most versatile pack Ive owned. Ive been a fan of 5.11 since my agency adopted their class B tactical uniforms so many years ago, and have enjoyed a wide range of 5.11 products ever since. This fine pack proudly carries on the tradition.
RaspundeTerri C.,
Love this backpack. Lots of compartments. Super fast shipping.
RaspundeMiguel C.,
Great quality backpack and perfect size :+1::skin-tone-2::+1::skin-tone-2:
Raspundedavid n.,
Love the backpack. Was disappointed that mine didnt come with as knife. My friend bought the same one and received a knife in the bag
RaspundeBrittany P.,
I think the workmanship of the bag is pretty good. The zipper in the outer back doesn't really hold much, so I'm not sure what it's made for. The storage for the larger part is okay I was able to fit a few items but not what I'm used to in all my other tactical bags. The overlap of the zipper makes the functionality a little more difficult to find in a rush. Overall the bag js durable and not a bad purchase, but a little overpriced for what I feel I received compared to expected.
RaspundeHeidi P.,
This is the perfect badass backpack for work - laptop, iPad, etc.
RaspundeJose R.,
I love the bag love it its light enough pockets for me not to big not to small just a great bag for everyday
RaspundeRon C.,
Again, quality is what I've come to expect from 5.11. The size of the backpack is perfect for its purpose.
RaspundeSCOTT F.,
Probably the best backpack for the money known
Functionality , workmanship & comfort are out of this world
THANKS 511
Brenda L.,
Bought this for my son-in-law, and he absolutely loves it! The price was very reasonable for such a high quality product. Great design, and so much storage in this backpack.
RaspundeKathleen D.,
My husband loves this pack so much! The fit is extremely comfortable and the options for organizing his gear are numerous and well thought out.
RaspundeRoypaul C.,
Well made you will be very happy with this pack. Pouches attach easy for extra room. The 6x9 pouch is made of durable materials with a strong zipper. I am happy with this product I think it will last a long time. Merry Christmas and God bless.
RaspundeSaul R.,
After my wifes 511 backpack got stolen, without hesitation, I purchased a second 511 backpack for her. We both love the quality, durability, storage options their backpacks offer. Very satisfied, happy, return customer.
RaspundeCiyin O.,
Exactly what i was looking for in a small day pack/hiking bag. The laptop compartment is perfect size for macbooks. Double stitching on all the molle webbing and seams. I also own 5.11s rush 100 and will continue to add to the collection
RaspundeJoanna S.,
Bought as a birthday gift for my son who turned 29. He loves your products and always trusts the quality, workmanship, and functionality. He immediately took it as a carry-on bag for his flight to Hawaii with his wife.
RaspundeJeffrey L.,
Been keeping my eye on a smaller bag for day hikes, this was the one that fit the bill. Sales came on, and I pulled the trigger and bought it. Fast and safe ship.nnEverything I wanted in a bag this size. Very satisfied, and highly recommend!
RaspundeRon,
I bought this Rush12, two years ago, to replace a Jansport pack, and I'll NEVER go back to flimsy material again! This 5.11 Rush 12 pack is well organized, and sized just right for stowing everything I need with me. The 1050 Denier material is VERY tough, and the quality of stitching is flawless. I haven't had a single loose stitching thread, no rips, anywhere. I carry heavy loads sometimes (books) and carry by just one arm strap, and still the arm strap shows no signs of wear at the stitching. I thought I would use the molle webbing, but I really haven't. Nice to have it though. If 5.11 would make this same pack, with the same 1050 D material, in a "gray man" version, without Molle, I'd buy another two, or three and keep one for me, and give the rest for Christmas gifts.
RaspundeNicole F.,
I got the smallest size. Its a perfect size for commuting to and from the office. Has my laptop and other stuff in it. Its about the size of a traditional backpack but much cooler and way more functional
RaspundeLeah N.,
So far my husband loves it. He needs a large durable backpack for work. Hopefully this holds up I will update later. We had a great experience with both online and in store customer service
RaspundeBradley S.,
I like this bag a lot however I wish there is molle in the ccw pocket. Also, there is mounting for a waste strap and most bags that have chest strap, also have a waste strap. This bag does not come with the waste strap and thats crap.
RaspundeARMANDO H.,
Excelente mochila y supera las expectativas que tenia, felicitaciones por el producto
RaspundeThomas V.,
I bought 2 of the Rush 12's and 6 of the Rush 24's for family. They all love them!
RaspundeMichael M.,
Perfect size and fit. Holds everything I need to function as an EDC, and distributes the weight very well. The compartments help keep everything organized, and easy to access.
RaspundeChance H.,
Great everyday bag, can fit as a personal item on an airplane.
RaspundeMarylou G.,
Love it.. super sturdy and fits everything:ok_hand:nnMlou88
RaspundePierre G.,
I have been buying 5.11 products for a decade or more now nNever been disappointednVery rugged great quality
RaspundeMack W.,
The bag is a good bag. Its still kind of new, but overall - I wish I wouldve purchased the larger one. I believe its the 24L. At the time I did all of my searching for the right bag online. This was an initial purchase for a review for our new CCW class. nIt wasnt until I went to an actual 5.11 store in Carle Place, New York while on business, that I met a store clerk that helped me a lot. Pretty much informed me that I had the wrong bag for what my intent was. Plus, he helped me identify which big carrier bag me and my wife need for our business. I literally learned so much about the 5.11 products and cant wait to showcase them on our Instagram page and website.
RaspundeJeff M.,
Its a great bag with plenty of pockets. The only thing I dont like is there are no spots on the side for a drink or water bottle. If it had drink pockets it would be perfect.
RaspundeMatt C.,
Love the fact this backpack has a lot of compartments for me to store all my work stuff I carry with me and its big enough to hold my water bottle. I previously owned a sling bag from you guys and loved that one as well but I needed to upgrade to a bigger backpack and this one does the job.
RaspundeEric P.,
This is a quality bag built with sturdy materials. The storage capacity and pockets provide many options for stowing away items. Very happy with this purchase.
RaspundeRobert C.,
These packs are built well. Love the velcro concealed carry pouch in the front. Customizing the bag to your needs is nice. nIn the end, it may be a little pricy but the bag should last forever. nThe rush 24 is my favorite.
RaspundeAndre R.,
Great backpack! The right size for my day to day needs. It has room for everything I need.
RaspundeBradley C.,
Very good quality and love the shoulder straps. Very comfortable. It is a heavy, well built pack. I like the size. Some may find it a little small. Bought it on sale and no regrets. Just wish it came with a hip belt.
RaspundeJenny G.,
If the pockets on the pants amazed you wait until you buy this back pack With a Velcro conceal and carry pouch you are ready for just about anything. Also the pocket and carry capacity of this bag is top tier! Tactical and fashionable bests of both worlds!
RaspundeBrendan M.,
Overall, it's a solid bag. Biggest complaint is that the sternum strap is too high and can't be adjusted.
RaspundeMARK G.,
Very well made, easy access to all compartments.nPerfect size day pack, was able to carry all the necessary gear and 2 water bottles on a recent elk hunt.
RaspundeKenny S.,
My second one. I love them. They don't wear out, I just wanted a second one. Great product.
RaspundeKaison K.,
Holds a lot of stuff, good utility, wish it had a padded waist belt option.
RaspundeEd Q.,
It would survive a nuclear attack. Its construction is complicated. Amazing how they do it.
RaspundeJack S.,
(Purchaser's wife) Though I haven't had an opportunity to try it out yet, I am very impressed with the compact nature, yet ability to fit it out with all sorts of supplies. The hydration system is excellent, as well as the spots for glasses, CCW, laptop or ipad, and various other nooks & crannies that I'm still discovering. The MOLLE system is great - have 2 pouches attached so far. The manufacturing is top notch and the harness is very strong sitting nicely on the shoulders.
RaspundeGlenn M.,
I would have given 5 stars, but I would really like this line of backpacks (RUSH12/24/etc) with less of the loops and Velcro on the outside. I carry in an urban environment and would prefer to not stand out. Some less outdoors color options would go a long way too.nnThis backpack, without the MOLLE webbing and a medium blue/gray color would be great. Change nothing elsennFor use in the great outdoors, this is already ideal.
RaspundeChristopher B.,
Just an excellent backpack across the board. Solid design with simple functions in mind. With the outstanding quality materials 5.11 always delivers on all of their products. Always reliable and dependable construction.
RaspundeJose T.,
High quality, light, and great looking bag. nI am very satisfied with the product.
Raspundesebastian e.,
It's very robust and comfortable. I find that it's very useful for carrying my school supplies. The only thing that I think I would like to be redesigned is thew computer sleeve, that I think It should be a bit wider so it can fit bigger laptops and have more padding on the inside to protect the laptop from damage from the items inside the bag.
RaspundeAP A.,
Its everything i need to be ready.the best products and worth the best
Raspundechristopher T.,
Has a great deal of pouches for all ur items. The back fits very nice and meets all my needs. Functionality is great but I would be nice if it came with the camel back. packaging was solid and everything came perfect!! So much better then going to the main stores!!!!
RaspundeMichael T.,
Very functional! Love the quality and the hidden pocket is perfect!
RaspundeNate T.,
5.11 bags are the best. Have the Rush MOAB 10 Sling pack and this is the backpack version of that which is exactly what I was looking for. Love both of them but just wanted a back pack version to distribute the weight on both shoulders and after using this backpack for a few weeks, have to say that this Rush 12 2.0 is the most comfortable backpack I've ever had. I use it for work mainly but have traveled with it as well.
RaspundeJHON P.,
Better than I expected! nEasy on my back, fits what I need and got all the organizational pockets. nIt feels like I'm not wearing a bag at all sometimes. nnAs a fitness instructor on the go this bag is definitely something that I was looking for. Not to big for someone who's 5'3 but still has all the room for the the things I always have to carry around.
RaspundeCarlos S.,
5.11 is a great company with excellent products. You can rest assure that you will get a good quality product on a timely manner.
RaspundeJohn G.,
Really nice bag, roomy enough for my needs, seems like it will last a long time! I would buy again!
RaspundeDavid W.,
Excellent pack. Functional. Well constructed. Superior quality. Exactly what I was looking for.
RaspundeNanette R.,
Bought for my Veteran Son as a gift! nHe loves it! nThank you
RaspundeJeffrey F.,
Nice ! Ive purchased 5 backpacks and the best are the two packs from 5 11. Enough storage for a bug out.
RaspundeKreston E.,
I have purchased 3 of these bags, one for me and two of my kids. They're durable and well made, and have already lasted longer than any other backpack I bought for them in the past with no signs of wear.
RaspundeTom R.,
The fabric is really sturdy, but Im above average size (62/230) and it feels a wee small for me. nCould also use a belt with this. nSo no complaints about the actual product, but if youre a Clydesdale, you might want to get a bigger one.
RaspundeKurt L.,
Great quality. I was hoping my 17" laptop would fit but it's thick. I'm currently using it for rucking. Would be nice if it came with hip support.
RaspundeNazar D.,
this is a quality tactical backpack.nI didn't find anything wrong.nused for its intended purpose perfectly
RaspundeMartin S.,
Highly recommend for all serious and long term use.
RaspundeLawrence M.,
What I was looking for. It looks like the Rush line are the best product in the line of backpacks. This is my second one and both are excellent.
RaspundeHsinhan W.,
I bought this bag because it has a laptop pocket, the first gen does not but I used a laptop sleeve for a few years and held up great and now it's our camping gear bag. The laptop compartment is a bit tight for my 16" macbook pro(2021). The build quality on this bag and other 5.11 bags I have just can not be beat. My wife always questions me why i keep buying bags that the old ones are still in perfect but broken in condition, so my answer this time was "It's a different color"....
RaspundeRobert F.,
I use this to carry my work gear back and forth to the office. This particular bag is the perfect size for EDC in my opinion. For anyone wondering this bag will just barely fit the newer 16-inch MacBook Pro in the laptop pouch but since it's such a tight fit I just leave my Mac outside of this pocket and it fits just fine, along with lots of other stuff. The pockets all throughout the bag are amazing and this thing feels like a tank. I doubt I'll have to buy another bag for 20 years!
RaspundeNicholas Y.,
I upgraded from the Rush12 original backpack and can say this backpack is an improvement on an already excellent design. I carried my Rush12 bag with me every single day for a couple years and it had shown no sign of wear and tear. With the inclusion of the concealed carry pocket on the new bag I had the final piece of a great backpack I didnt realize I needed.
RaspundeJason P.,
I have used it everyday for 2 weeks. Well thought out and rugged.
RaspundeNick P.,
Purchased this for our son. He absolutely loves it. Quality backpack which he will use for college. The laptop compartment and other storage areas are great for carrying all his daily needs.
RaspundeSteven D.,
Excellent quality, multiple storage options, I have replaced my briefcase and use this instead. Also great for the range, highly recommend
RaspundeRobert M.,
Before I say why I didn't give this bag a full five stars, I want to say that I really like the quality of materials and the workmanship. That alone should give it five stars. This thing is absolutely solid. My daughter is a Marine and she was telling me how her ruck is 55+ pounds. I placed some iron plates into my pack so I could see what she was talking about. That's a lot of weight to carry! The bag didn't show any signs of distress or made any sounds like it was being strained. It took the weight like it was just another day in the field.nnMy only gripe is how the shoulder straps connect to the bag and are interconnected. I understand the idea is to distribute the weight across your shoulders, but that limits their range of motion. I find it difficult (or maybe just awkward) swinging this bag over my somewhat wide shoulders without the straps being extended most of the way out. This then leaves the bag sitting well below my shoulders unless I cinch it quite a bit tighter. That's kind of a hassle just to put it on every time. Now, I don't mean to discourage anyone from considering this pack, but I did want to at least share that one observation.
RaspundeMike W.,
Lots of places to store your stuff. nHas worked out well for me.
RaspundeRyan S.,
I havent used it a lot yet but I can already tell its fantastic. I needed a general purpose bag that I can use for travel, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, boating and anything else I do. This bag is a little small so I dont really use it as a suitcase, but its great for everything else. I love that there is enough molle webbing for me to customize the bag for different use cases. Its small and lightweight for easy travel. Its super comfortable on the back, even with heavy loads. Ive rode my bike shirtless with it and it is not itchy or uncomfortable at all (does absorb sweat though). I love that I can tear open the bag and the zippers dont bind. Im hoping to use the conceal carry part once I can buy a pistol. The laptop compartment kind of sucks because its far in the back and if you need to take your laptop out quickly youll have to completely open the bag up if you have anything else in it (not good for TSA). I dont imagine most people will use that pouch for a laptop anyway but good to know. Sunglasses pouch is fantastic. I will need to get a water bladder to test out that while hiking but I imagine itll be great. Overall I would recommend to people who just need a bag that will be a Jack-of-all-trades.
RaspundeJEROME W.,
A little tighter than I thought and does not ride well on 1 shoulder. I have to play with the adjustments and see if I can correct.
RaspundeLance W.,
Love the bag, but wish I had gotten the next size up. My laptop is just a hair too large to put in the padded laptop area bc it will crush my glasses in the eyewear pocket.
RaspundeTrinidad R.,
I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Rush 2.0 backpackit is well made, the material is durable as well as the zippers. If anyone is looking for a compact tactical backpack with numerous storage compartments, you will not be disappointed with the Rush 2.0
RaspundeJohn,
Was able to carry 3 ponchos, 3 water bottles, cooling towels, first aid, cleaning wipes, and snacks with room to spare. There are lots of compartments in the front pocket to keep things organized. It does not fit in the free smaller lockers at Universal Studios, Florida, but it did fit in the larger one that you have to rent. I even added Harry Potter morale patches to the Velcro. The sunglass compartment kept my shades safe, and I was able to transport a subcompact pistol and spare mag in the concealed carry compartment (not in the park). This is definitely going to be my small excursion bag of choice.
RaspundeCaleb S.,
i hadn't anticipated how small it would be. But it is a nice backpack and it works for anything.
RaspundeCurtis L.,
Its ok. I bought it for off body CC. The pouch is too narrow. Also having a hard time installing a Velcro style holster to keep the holster retained when I draw. As for the rest of the bag, its very well built. Plenty of Mollie to hang other pouches. Another drawback, there is no hip belt. Not even a 5.11 option to install. Going to order the Go Ruck hip belt.
RaspundeWilliam M.,
This is a great bag it's the perfect size easy access seems very sturdy and I think it's great. I would recommend this bag to anyone who wants something not too large but big enough to carry your essentials. It's got lots of pockets and I like the zipper that opens without having to unlatch and open the hole flap you can just use the zipper opening that's great thank you guys.
RaspundeCaleb G.,
Use this pack for medical supplies. Didnt think I was going to fit everything in it but the only thing I couldnt put in it were c-collars.
RaspundeAlan W.,
Very durable product. Many pockets makes for a great computer bag. Would be a 5 star rating if getting the computer in/out of sleeve wad easier.
RaspundeMatthew W.,
Love this bag more than I thought I would. I actually prefer this one over the RUSH 24 since the top zipper on this one doesn't split in half. The top zippered pocket on this pack should be on the RUSH 24. nnThis bag will probably end up being a vehicle bug out bag. Or a replacement hiking pack.
RaspundeRaul R.,
Awesome backpack. Maybe I should have gotten a little bigger backpack to put more stuff in it.
RaspundeJason F.,
I really like the functionality of the backpack. Lots of extra storage and pocket options. Seems to be made very durable. I have only used it once so far but very happy with my new pack.
RaspundeHeyward H.,
Great material and construction. Great quality.
RaspundeHA W.,
Perpect, Funcionality, fast Order. I love 5.11 all products.
RaspundeJesus C.,
The Rush 12 2.0 Backpack was perfect for my needs. Quality, Price point, Durability. Just what to expect from 5.11 products.
RaspundeJoseph J.,
This is my second Rush 12 backpack. I love the new concealed carry pocket! The bag is still a solid build with great space options! This is a super bag for travel as it fits under the seat on the plane. I love that i can build out the molle system to meet the functional needs of the task!
RaspundeMartin J.,
Great quality and the just the right size for on the go.
RaspundeJoe M.,
Ive always been a fan of 5.11, the Rush12 is no different. Well constructed, plenty of storage. The forethought and planning of the pockets and dividers make organizing a breeze! Size is perfect for duty bag and day trips.
RaspundeCooper I.,
This product is rugged and has lots of storage space. I would like to have perhaps a few more smaller storage zippers inside. The color is a big plus!
RaspundeAnthony A.,
Great backpack I'm in love with it. It has a whole buck of pocket to stay organized.
RaspundeGlenn E.,
Love this pack! Works great for my job as a UPS driver.
RaspundeMichael S.,
Love the backpack, the zippers get stuck every once in a while with the cover flap but thats the only area that has some sort of issue.
RaspundeRichard S.,
Good for an everyday carry. Decent amount of organizational space. Well made and seems like it will last a long time.
RaspundeShawn P.,
This backpack is excellent. More compartments than I may ever need (not that I'm complaining), great build quality as always with 5.11 and affordable pricing. I will definitely recommend to anyone as an everyday carry, tactical use, hiking. Whatever the use you will not be disappointed.
RaspundeSimon B.,
Good, Sturdy Backpack. Really nothing to complain about. Perfect size for a day pack and pretty darn comfortable too.
RaspundeJames R.,
Fantastic quality and a great size, my only knock is no place to put a water bottle, of which I knew this was the case, otherwise great bag
RaspundeJennifer N.,
Bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it! uses it for everything:)
RaspundeKorey W.,
I bought this so I could off body carry at work and my first day I had a truck driver complement me on it saying it was really good quality and he had one too. I love the functionality of the molle webbing and the workmanship is top notch. All in all a solid bag for just day to day use.
RaspundeMichael D.,
I purchased this backpack for travel and find it well designed and comfortable. It fits well under the seat and has ample pockets and storage for everything I need on the plane. The construction is robust, but not too heavy. I've added a non-5.11 water bottle holder as they didn't have it in ranger green. The molle attachment points are well located and easy to use.
Raspundescott d.,
Love it. It fits all my needs. The compartments are perfectly sized and easily accessible
RaspundeKatelyn S.,
Got this for my husband and he absolutely loves it! The molly system is so handy to add things. He hikes with it
RaspundeChristopher S.,
Love this bag. Has everything you need for a short adventure - or, in my case, my everyday work bag. Quality is top notch. Would definitely recommend.
RaspundePaul S.,
I purchased this backpack specifically as a carry-on for air travel. The size is perfect for stowing under the seat or the overhead compartment on an airplane. Everything I took with me stowed securely and safely and there was room left over. Every 5.11 product that I've purchased has proven to be very durable and reliable (all still in use). I'd buy this again in a heartbeat!
RaspundeJesse W.,
Pros: This bag feels quality made. It's the perfect size for a day/work bag. The pockets are fairly well thought out and there is depth to accommodate what you think you could fit. Several pockets inside fit altoid tins kit perfect.nCons: The shoulder straps feel very rough against my skin around the neck when it rubs. nThe rain flaps slightly interfere with opening the zippers, just takes patience to use fingers as a guide for them.nnAll in all, I really like this bag as it's perfect for my needs. The size is smaller but that's what I needed
RaspundeJames P.,
My soldier son has the camo version and uses it for everything that doesnt require an extra-large ruck.nnI liked his so much that I got the gray/black one. I hung a couple of special pouches on it and I use it as my purse every day.
RaspundeDavid T.,
Great bag! It is a little smaller then I was thinking. It is a great everyday carry bag though. It is defiantly easy to throw your items in it and go. Great bag to keep all your stuff together for the day and workout gear.
RaspundeMichael K.,
Rucking, I bought for rucking.nIt was on sale, I went to buy another pack but this was discounted 50%. I am glad I bought it. It has more features, larger capacity, and I can use it for other things, like a medical kit or bug out bag if I get tired of rucking. I like it a lot.
RaspundeRobert R.,
Great quality quick compact and reliable features with decent organization but was concerned about the soft side Velcro patches as they wear over time they will have to be replaced
Raspunderobert s.,
Hands down best bag ive owned. You cant beat 5:11 bags for the price and construction. Great bag.
RaspundeJD L.,
Great size for my needs. No stupid technology. Well made design that Im sure will be my go to pack for a long while.
RaspundeJoseph P.,
This pack is functional and built to last. Perfect for a day hike or for hauling your gear to work.
RaspundeGeoffrey B.,
Always a great pack. This is my 4th one of the different sizes.
RaspundeJeff B.,
I typically think 5.11 products are well designed, but not this one. This bag has turned out to be a huge disappointment. I purchased this bag to pack my 15in laptop back and forth to work. Size is fine, it carries all my gear, but the straps are too short. I can't get the pack on if wearing a sweater or coat. The biggest peace is the laptop pouch not well designed. I have to wonder if anyone even tested this with an actual laptop. The compartment is to high or too tall take your pick. I struggle just to get myb25 in laptop into the bag. I have to bend the bag in so many ways just to squeeze the laptop into that pouch. It is just a pain getting it in and out. I am about to go back to my other bag.nnSuggestions drop the pouch lower or make it shorter. The top needs to be lower, it is too close to the top of the bag. I have to bend the top backwards just to struggle to get the laptop out.nnVery disappointed on an expensive bag.
RaspundeJohn S.,
Bought specifically to transport my 15" laptop, but it won't come close to fitting in the laptop sleeve and will barely fit in the fain compartment. Beyond that is is very well made.
RaspundeLou R.,
Awesome bag, bought one for my son and liked it so much I got one for myself. It is with me every day!
RaspundeJohn H.,
Perfect backpack for everyday use. Also like the concealed carry pocket.
RaspundeRichard J.,
High quality materials with plenty of pockets to organize your gear. The ccw pocket is very discreet. 10/10 pack, Ive recommended it to everyone I know.
RaspundeJorge T.,
Great backpack for work. It's tough, rugged and built to last. It fits my water bottle, coffee thermos, a file folder, and all my other miscellaneous dirty gear. I own all three rush backpack sizes.
RaspundeFranz R.,
Love these backpacks. Have all sizes and in various colors from the updated version to the new 2.0. I love the addition of the laptop/CCW pockets. A suggestion for improvement would be to make the bottom of the backpacks more rugged as it feels a little thin on the bottom. I have other branded backpack/bags that cost as much or less that have a tougher bottom. If the laptop pocket was not there, I would have suggested putting a MOLLE back similar to the All Hazards Nitro/Prime. I have and love those backpacks too. It would be cool if somehow those two backpacks had a babylol. Keep up the good work 5.11.
RaspundeGema P.,
We are liking everything from this store. Shipping is fast. Comes well Package. Definitely recommend for all to shop here. RUSH12 Backpack is awesome. The quality of the material is perfect. A must buy. :)
RaspundeRichard I.,
Finally, a backpack that's worth the money. Pockets where you want them, quality construction, and comfort. Definitely recommended.
RaspundeJosh S.,
I ordered the Rush 12 24L backpack mainly for work. Im in the commercial/industrial HVAC industry so Im climbing ladders and stairs daily, I needed a bag to keep my hands free without worrying about my bag slipping off.. I wanted a rugged backpack to carry tools, supplies and water onto rooftops, traditional tool bags feature a one strap system that slides off your shoulder. I also purchased the WTS wide 3L hydration system to pair with this backpack, it fits perfectly into the strap side pocket! So far the Rush 12 has served me well and it has plenty of room inside for my daily needs.
RaspundeGreg S.,
Nick pack, very well made. The padded laptop compartment will not fit a full size laptop. If you're looking for a pack that will accommodate a full sized laptop (15" screen or larger), get the next size up.
RaspundeAlan T.,
It was definitely a great purchase in my opinion. Although I have never been a backpack expert, I do know quality when I see it. I'll be taking care of this one for sure to make it last for many years. I am never disappointed in the quality of 511's products. Your company is getting to be my go to store when it comes to the good stuff. Thanks a bunch! Al
RaspundeDavid T.,
The Rush 12 is a well designed and well made pack. Typical of 5.11 gear. I bought the pack as a travel pack for flying. It's large enough to carry all of my carry-on gear and the multitude of pockets keeps everything organized. The size also makes it easy to fit in the overhead bin or under the seat. When it actually comes time to throw it on my back, the shoulder strap system makes for a very comfortable carry.
RaspundeTim R.,
Bought for my wife to use when traveling light through the airports.
RaspundeMichelle S.,
Very high quality bag! Definitely looking at purchasing another for myself (this was a gift).
RaspundeWillard M.,
Just enough space to be very useful, and keep your load out to needs, not for overpacking. Perfect for me to keep it focused for particular use.
RaspundeDaniel C.,
Love how organized I can be with my EDC items, love the concealed carry pocket. Its a perfect size for everyday work.
RaspundeGEORGE B.,
FILLS THE REQUIREMENT FOR QUALITY, UTILITY, DURABILITY AND FUNCTIONALITY....IN TERMS OF KIT..WHAT ELSE IS THERE....NOTHING
RaspundeAutumn H.,
Bought this for a Christmas present. He loves it and uses everyday for work.
RaspundeDan D.,
Excellent workmanship. This bag is everything I wanted and hoped it would be.
RaspundeFred M.,
I love this backpack. It is a perfect size for a hike into the mountains and I have used it on my motorcycle and it works awesome for that as well. Fits great and all the zippers work smooth.
RaspundeNancy S.,
Well worth the money and great to hold many items in it for a truck driver.
RaspundeMegan T.,
Great bag for being on shift. LOVE all the pockets. Wish I would have got a bigger size but it is awesome regardless! The new concealed carry pocket is legit
RaspundeChristopher T.,
Got this for my son for Christmas. He loves it. This is a well made backpack that will last him many many years!
RaspundeTrevor P.,
I use this bag for work, and it holds everything thing I need. The stitching is well done and doesnt feel like it will give when you really stuff the bag with your gear. The molle loops are the same. They have a sturdiness that my previous bag lacked.
RaspundeEric L.,
Pack is very well made and thought out. I love the hidden edc compartment. I can see this pack last for a long time
RaspundeCarl R.,
most rugged pack I have owned. I use a pack for daily carry of sundries. pens, raincoat, medications, snacks, whistle, keys etc. I have purchased two other packs that were bigger than I needed. Thanks for a great product. I did add a bottle carry molle , maybe something you could offer as an accessory.
RaspundeMars D.,
I fly a lot and this bag allows me to safely carry my laptop and credentials while being able to be stored in all size overhead compartments. Solid purchase!
RaspundeRonald Q.,
I bought this backpack because I wanted something above the normal, this one exceed my expectations, very well made, even a "concealed pocket" for a in hurry predicament, love this bag.
RaspundeBrittany V.,
My husband had been wanting one of these for awhile. I got this one because a lot of the reviews I read said it was great for practical every day use and still had a bunch of space and pockets for everything and they were right! I purchased this for my husband as an anniversary present and he loved it! The material is great quality and seems to be very durable. Would highly recommend!
RaspundeMilton H.,
This is my go to bag now when I go somewhere, or have to stay in the hospital. I keep a phone charger in it for emergencies or long periods out. The backpack does not sag like so many than I see and looks great.
RaspundeNicholas T.,
Using this as my current flight bag. Compact enough to throw in the back of the plane, but ruggedly built with plenty of storage space.
RaspundeSeguin P.,
I like how much this backpack can hold and how strong the material is, but as far as quick access, it falls short. The straps constantly get in the way when opening the biggest compartment, theres no way around this. The inside zipper on the top flap also gets in the way constantly when trying to open the big compartment. It would be nice if they opened and closed the backpack a bunch of times and corrected these very noticeable flaws.
RaspundeRandal H.,
I find this bag to be extremely durable. The stitching on the MOLLE straps is done well. That usually the first thing to go on any bag, but these hold up well.nThe width of the shoulder straps makes carrying very comfortable. nThe amount of storage is great.nI would buy this bag again.
RaspundeAndres R.,
My dad its the a fan of huge bags so I got him a 12 and its one his favorites EDC bags
RaspundeWesley W.,
Great Bag. Very compact crazy amount of pockets. Rugged and tuff. Im sure it will last for a long time to come.
RaspundePaul R.,
So far looks, feels and performs like a Good quality pack.
RaspundeCheryl A.,
Absolutely love this backpack. Will definitely purchase more products from 5.11 Tactical.
RaspundeJohn L.,
Ive had a lot of tactical backpacks for bug out and range packs and theyve all given out on me. This one has a better feel than all the others. Material is more stout and the zippers are more robust. I have it loaded heavy intentionally at the moment and its handling the weight perfectly fine.
RaspundeScott N.,
Perfect size for my needs on a daily basis for work. Bomb proof construction
RaspundeMohammad W.,
I already have the Medium Size Rush bag and have used it for years. Wanted a smaller bag for daily use and this has the perfect compartments for everything you may need in a daily use bag. The concealment pouch is definitely a nice feature. The color is also very appealing.
RaspundeRaul P.,
Backpack is awesome and perfect size I would recommend this backpack to anyone
RaspundeAlexandria B.,
You can fit so much in this little thing and keep everything organized!
RaspundeJimmy S.,
Comfortable, easy to carry my stuff for work. The concealment pouch holds my edc 5 inch barrel perfectly. Love it
RaspundeJoseph M.,
Very well made. Strong, and multifunctional, for different situations.
RaspundeKyle R.,
I am in ROTC at Drexel university. I ordered this bag to wear in my army uniform for classes and for field training. This bag looks great and performs perfectly. Very well made, and can withstand anything.
RaspundeDarren M.,
The back pack is great, but I am still waiting for exchanges which I sent back in September the 22nd
RaspundeArkin V.,
I use this backpack daily to go to my school training and it has the space necessary for me and a great amount of pockets to place my everyday school items for convenient access. Plus you can further customize it and personalize it to represent you as an individual and make it better with 5.11 backpack accessories.
RaspundeGilberto H.,
Strong bag I love it will last fora long time will buy again thank you great product will also recommend to my family
RaspundeDavid M.,
Great Everyday carry bag! Not too big not too small; just right!
RaspundeNick M.,
I love my old rush 12. Traveled around the country with it and have taken it on numerous camping trips. Thought about upgrading to the 2.0 with the laptop pocket for work but the laptop pocket design was awful for me. It just didnt fit right. No real issue with the rest of the bag. Concealed pocket is cool but Ill stick to my OG rush 12.
RaspundeDaniel V.,
This is durable and high quality. Perfect overnight and daily carry for work or school. Plenty of space
RaspundeZachary M.,
Very high quality bag that's worth every penny IMO, with a LOT of pockets to keep everything you carry with you organized. Easily the best everyday carry bag I've ever used
Raspundedave s.,
Awesome bag with plenty of compartments. Stitched great. I havent given it a backpacking test, but this thing seems like it was built to last
RaspundeRandall C.,
Havent tried it out yet, full of gear. Would like to see many smaller zip/velcro side pockets.
RaspundeKenneth B.,
Heavy-duty, lots of pockets.nnI love the addition of a proper place for a laptop. nnWell done!
RaspundeMichael L.,
The quality of the bag is great but it is pretty small depending on your needs. I gave this bag to my wife for hiking and ordered the next size up for myself which was, for me, the perfect size.
RaspundePeabody V.,
I've been looking at a similar backpack at Walmart for a few months now. I decided to go with the 5.11 tactical. I'm glad I did, the zippers alone are worth the extra price...
RaspundePaul B.,
I have multiple RUSH first generation bags. I always thought something was missing with them. When carrying concealed I would always use my MOAB. However, with this bag it takes the best of both worlds and combines them into one. This bag serves a purpose and is great when traveling or as a bug out.
Raspundeluis B.,
Great bag delivered super fast, the most comfortable back pack that I have owned and way roomier then it looks, you keep stuffing and things just fit. The only thing that is a little off is the perfectly located on the outside lined pocket for sunglasses kind of interferes with the laptop pouch inside the bag, but its a slight inconvenience.
RaspundeRichard P.,
Excellent pack, for my grandson who wanted smaller and no wheels from his college year last. He likes it alot. We would have liked a few more smaller pockets on sides to fit a few smaller items but did not want bigger nor the cost of custom made. This pack was the best fit.nHe moved all his stuff last week into it. Like the Laptop room too!
RaspundeWendy J.,
Its my new rucking pack for around town. Its comfortable and holds everything I need.
RaspundeCornel W.,
I use it on my walks and sometimes set up targets at the range I walk to.nIt is a definite work out because I feel I carry everything I need.
RaspundeDario C.,
Deseo en un futuro seguir obteniendo de su mercanca, me encanto esta super mochila. Muchas gracias 5.11
RaspundeJose L.,
Plenty of space and pockets, great quality, and that kangaroo color is beautiful
RaspundeBen S.,
Literally everything I wanted it for. Love all the compartments and how durable it is
RaspundeOscar B.,
I love it so much I own 3. Its perfect.! Extremely versatile and easily customized for specific needs of the day
RaspundeJASON R.,
I can't begin to explain how functional and efficient this bag is. I use it day to day as a traveling documentary filmmaker. The best bag out there, guaranteed!
RaspundeJason G.,
The Rush12 2.0 24Liter bag is an AWESOME everyday bag or overnight bag. It will be good for camping, which I brought along already. I use it daily as well. Its extremely well made, well worth the money. With water resistant tough 1000 or 1050D I believe, toughly made. Excellent sense of organization. Plenty of pockets, for multiple items, including lab top, area for hydration pack, it has a secret pocket also, very cool! It looks very well put together, the straps are extremely comfortable and you would be surprised for a 24 L it actually holds a lot - as if it was a 35 liter. Zippers are nice quality with the paracord lacing. Cant say enough good things about the bag- if you need a well built, all around backpack with attention to detail and quality (and in the 20-30 liter range, again this 24 liter holds a ton and was well thought out when made. No regrets- highly recommend!!!!
RaspundeJerry H.,
This backpack is truly the best I have owned, perfect size, durable, looks freaking awesome!!!
RaspundeAlexander D.,
Very competitively priced backpack, but hands-down best quality you could ask for, for that price.
RaspundeEric B.,
I really like it. I use it as my get home that I keep in my car. The added CCW compartment is nice as well.
RaspundeDarryl L.,
So many pockets! If I could al over on my off time, this bag is coming with me. I love it!
RaspundeDennis E.,
This ia a good size bag for carrying what I need for work on a daily basis. I can put both by lap top and tablet in the lap top section. The only down side is the shoulder straps are on the shorter side. They barely fit wearing a tee shirt. They will be too small when wearing with a medium to heavy weight jacket.
RaspundeHayden,
My backpack was ordered through my unit . It was supposed to have a hat and patch but I guess the promo did not work. Big bummer otherwise an amazing bag
RaspundePhilip A.,
I'll start out with what I don't like. I purchased the kangaroo color. Nice look but other pack accessories sold are not in that color (maybe thats changed see 5.11 website but thats my experience), concealed carry compartment needs to be a bit bigger (anything bigger than a subcompact kinda makes the velcro not shut securely), the closure ties on both sides of the backpack are really not needed and in fact are annoying (get in way of opening main compartment), get rid of the water bladder compartment and just add overall room to the interior of the bag and a side compartment for a water bottle (bottles are less weight and easier to clean)nnWhat I liked: its a very durable backpack, will definitely survive what ever mission you have planned. Its lightweight and the colors offered are cool. I like the molle webbing for additional packs (if you're not OCD and are ok having different colors). The zippers and clasps are solid. Overall its a quality backpack and I enjoy it. I think a few changes would make it better but to each is there own.
RaspundeAmanda A.,
Great quality, plenty of space and just great overall. I love the Molle system as I added a hydration storage pouch and also an IFAK
RaspundeScott S.,
The bag was everything it was said to be, great quality. Only complaint was when I purchased the bag there was supposed to be a free hat and patch but when I put the promo code in it didnt accept it but that didnt affect my purchase.
RaspundeSami T.,
Very happy with the purchase so far (its only been 5 weeks so lets see if the pack lasts)nnThe pack has multiple compartment and the front pocket is perfect for conceal and carry. The larger compartment has smaller zipper pockets which are great for gear and a iPad/Laptop case (wish it was just 1/2 inch wider). Im surprised how much I appreciate the sunglasses pocket (fits both sunglasses and a iPhone) and the very back pocket for papers, etc.
RaspundeAna,
I have been looking for a work bag with lots of pockets/compartments and this is almost perfect. This backpack is very well made and looks nice. I have received many compliments. The only problem I have with this bag is that it is very heavy. The hunt for the perfect bag continues.
RaspundeMarc K.,
Product is well designed and sturdy with many different storage and carry compartments. Top quality zippers and material. Well balanced when full and comfortable.
RaspundeNorman C.,
I used it dailynand its really the nBest backpacknI used, I reallynrecommend it
RaspundeLeema,
I love the backpack, the design, looks great and serves it's purpose. I was surprised to find out that it was made in China. I have holster and it's made in Vietnam. They make good looking service gear "Made in China". As much as I hate to say it, No Thanks
RaspundeZachary J.,
I thought the sizing would be small but very comparable to an everyday back pack. Functionality is perfect its a nice addition to your everyday carry or day hike.
RaspundeTiffany,
I love the bag, great design, but I used it for the first time last week. The inside pockets with the netting are an awesome option, but the top pocket netting ripped, and now has a hole in it. its not like I put anything sharp in it. I had a cell phone in that pocket for the first time I ever used the bag, and it ripped.
RaspundeZachary C.,
Great day pack, perfect size, and a ton of useful pockets/storage. Would recommend, looks great too. :+1:
RaspundeJesus S.,
Lots of pockets. Fits what I need on a day to day basis.
RaspundeRylan F.,
The backpack has many well placed pockets, to which I discover a new pocket every day it seems. In fact, I went crazy looking all around the house for my wallet. On the 11th attempt looking through my backpack, I noticed a new pocket in the front pouch section. 10/10, would lose my wallet in my backpack again!
RaspundeSamer a.,
With my travels, it is really convenient and can carry many items. i recommend it for people who carry to many items and travel. I love it.
RaspundeJHON H.,
Awesome EDC pack. Very comfortable shoulder straps Also very durable zippers.
RaspundeJake T.,
This backpack is perfect for all outings. I mainly use it for school and despite its smaller size it still has plenty of room and has plenty of pockets. Material is very durable, very true to design and cant wait to buy more !
RaspundeRobert V.,
By far the toughest, most rugged backpack for any situation. I have other 5.11 backpacks and this one works for edc due to its smaller size.
RaspundeShane J.,
I use this pack for gym use all the way to the fire line. It goes just about everywhere with me. Roomy for its size, zippers in all the right places. Really happy with it !
Raspundeyuseok k.,
Size, function, design, convenience, etc.nMy favorite backpack because it's perfect in almost every way.
RaspundeHunter A.,
I work in sports medicine and use this to carry all of my emergency care equipment. Big enough to carry an AED without being too bulky, and the big assortment of pockets helps keep everything organized without having to use inserts or pouches. Molle system allows me to change things up depending on the sport that Im working (football obviously has different needs than basketball, such as equipment removal tools) without having to completely change the whole thing- I can strap some things onto the outside of the bag to keep them handy and leave the interior organization alone. Overall its been fantastic, super durable so far, and much more affordable than traditional sports medicine bags.
RaspundeHarold S.,
I now have two Rush Backpacks and will use them for various scenarios, whether as a bug-out-bag or just hiking the trails around where I live. As an aging former Airborne Infantry Sergeant, I wish I would have had this type of equipment when I was a young soldier. These backpacks are probably the best design of any I've tried over the past 40+ years. Whether you're hitting the trail or boarding an aircraft, the numerous compartments make accessing your "stuff" nice and easy.
RaspundeNick D.,
Great bag, lots of thought put into it, attention to detail. Its super rugged and made of solid materials. The 24L is still pretty big.
RaspundeDan M.,
Even though I haven't taken it out hard for a spin. You can tell it's well made and will hold up.
RaspundeNick E.,
Perfect bag for any occasion, clips/straps/zippers are all premium quality as well as the threading. I can appreciate that the chest strap is adjustable ( you can position it to be higher or lower, tighter or looser). Attaching molle compatible gear is a breeze, and attaching a hydration bladder is made either as well. At first I was trying to get a bag on a budget, but I spent a little more and caught this on a sale, but I would gladly pay full price in the future for another one. (wife is a little jealous). She is amazed at all the attachments I can fit on it and still be comfortable. If you're tight on money like me, don't risk losing gear by getting a cheaply made bag, save a little bit more and get one of these bags, you wont regret it.
RaspundeMarc W.,
Perfect size for a day pack, well made (lasts forever), discreet yet makes a statement, and expandable with the seemingly limitless Molle. Love both of my Rush 12s
RaspundeJoshua M.,
Great small day use back pack looks sharp and its high quality design.
RaspundeBrad,
Same awesome quality of the bigger 5.11 bags but I downsized to this for my daily carry to work because now I only carry a clipboard and some odds and ends. I do miss the upper, outside compartement of the Rush24 but there's just enough pockets inside to drop little things that are handy to have as I'm running around during the day
RaspundeSergio I.,
Very happy with my my purchase. Product is of very high quality and usefulness as is all 5.11 items.
Raspundelyle k.,
not only did i receive this product in record time (it showed up within days of purchase), its honestly the best backpack ive ever owner. lots of pockets for organization, LOTS of molle straps, great conceal pocket. will be purchasing the larger models for hiking and hunting trips.
RaspundeBlaine C.,
Great and simple. great storage and the admin pouch are awesome. The CCW compartment is simple, we will see how it will last the test of time. over all great bag I own two of these so far and no complaints.
RaspundeKevin W.,
This backpack is definitely on the smaller size, but it's designed so we'll it holds far more than this expect. I bought this as a day backpack for camping, carrying items for carryon, and range days and it is doing amazingly well so far. Also, the CCW pocket can easily fit my full size handguns and you'd never know they were in the bag.
RaspundeAlex B.,
By far the best backpack I've ever purchased. It's the perfect size for everyday use and when you need to load it down for a little adventure.
RaspundeTodd B.,
Hard to find quality stuff anymore. The RUSH packs are solid and have every feature someone would need.
RaspundeVassilis I.,
I'm using the Rush72 for more than 5 years and just a few days ago I got my brand new Rush12 2.0.The outstanding quality was one of the reasons I decided to get another 5.11 product. This backpack is carefully designed in detail that honestly there is nothing in the market to compare with.Every single department is ergonomically placed at the right place making access extremely easy. From the first sight you will understand that you have a serious everyday reliable partner to follow you under any circumstances and weather conditions. They didn't made the best better, they designed the ultimate backpack without any compromise in quality and reliability. nHighly recommended!
RaspundeDavid,
Love this bag it holds up to everything ive thrown at it, very durable. You can feel the quality right when you pick it up, and i love all the new updates they did with the rush series, the bags i own are the rush 24, rush 12 and the rush moab 10 and I absolutely recommend any of the rush Series top notch quality
RaspundeDieselduty,
There are a few differences in the 2.0 version. Most of the improvements I really like. I could have done without the zipper covers on the main zippers, the zippers drag on the covering material. No big deal I just keep the covering folded back away from the zippers. The pack would get 5 stars if the main straps were easier to tighten and loosen while wearing. All in all it is a high quality pack and I plan on having it the rest of my life. I don't regret buying. It came down to either 511 or First Tactical. Im glad I chose 511.
RaspundeKen,
The backpack is very nice expect for the fact that a 15 laptop is a very tight fit and has to be forced into the backpack.
RaspundeShane,
This backpack was everything I expected it to be. Tons of individualized storage spaces, the CCW compartment is perfect for most carry sized firearms. (The hook and loop that conceals this compartment is quite durable) I carry my tablet around for work and the laptop sleeve is the perfect safe place to store it. If youre thinking about purchasing, you wont be disappointed.
RaspundeMj,
I have been looking for a bag to keep with me throughout the day in my workplace, and to and from my residence/in my truck. I must carry a number of different things with me, as well as desire easy access to my CCW. This bag, although 24L is a lot bigger than you realize due to its design, and yet small enough to be very portable. The workmanship and material are what you'd expect from 5.11. Very happy with the purchase, plan on using it for many years.
RaspundeSquirrel,
Bought the Rush12-2.0 specifically to carry my laptop. Found out the opening to the laptop compartment is too small for my computer. If the depth of your laptop is more than 9.50"-9.75" it won't fit. Other than that, the bag is excellent quality. I have several Rush24's and Rush72.
RaspundeAnthony,
Bought this backpack shortly after I bought the sling bag and theyre both really bad a** bags Very happy with them I am not disappointed at all and I recommend them 100% they are worth the money no doubt
RaspundeScott,
It's in the summary sorry
RaspundeBryan,
Carried a Moab 10 for over a year and have been hiking more. With water gear and stuff I carry. The single strap got a little annoying. Got a Rush 12 great pack but I miss the weapon pocket between the compartments. If the 12 had that it would be perfect. Sad it dont.
RaspundeDelta A.,
Needed a new pack for work, play, and rucking. This one covered all bases. Being a Master Parachute Rigger for over 20 years, I found the workmanship to be top notch. I have the machines and fabrics to create the same bag, but I don't thing I could do it as well. It's nice to have a large main compartment, a smaller "admin" compartment, and a separated pouch for a hydration bladder. Shoulder straps are well-padded and very ergonomic. Fits me nice and snug without feeling restrictive. If there were spandex pouches on the sides for water bottles, this bag would be unbeatable. Great product. Thank you!
RaspundeMorris,
I received the Rush 12 in black as a Christmas present. I am very happy with it. I wanted it for flying because its size qualifies for a personal carryon. The quality is great. I always buy from 5.11 directly because of Amazon knock offs and will continue to do this. If you can wait for their sales, the prices are great and their service has been excellent.
RaspundeJacek,
I normally do not write reviews unless I am super happy with something and impressed. It is certainly the case with this pack. I have it for 1,5 years now and I need to admit this is the best back pack I ever had. I use it everyday to work (soft compartment at the back makes is great for a computer, book, workbook, etc.) I take it with me on day trips with my family - as an EDC or travel storage for clothes. IT is great, no trace of wear and tear. I washed it once after heavy 3 weeks holiday on sardinia where it was in sand every day thrown and rugged and fu**ed. If someone stole it from me I would buy it again pack a bunch of torture tools in it and I would find that little thiefff. I recommend with full assurance that it is the best pack available. Bye bye little hobbits
RaspundeJacek,
I normally do not write reviews unless I am super happy with something and impressed. It is certainly the case with this pack. I have it for 1,5 years now and I need to admit this is the best back pack I ever had. RaspundeDaniel,
I am a big fan of this backpack. It is highly functional for my needs at work and as a travel backpack for trips. I purchased more of this backpack for my team to create go-bags for emergency response. They have been very warmly received and extremely helpful in keeping things organized. The material is very durable and has held up to the abuse Ive dished out to it over time. Highly recommend!
RaspundeBike C.,
I work in a hospital and commute to work everyday via cycling. This bag is perfect! It holds all my work gear, lunch, and my helmet hangs off the top handle when I arrive. I attached a blinking Red light on it for when I ride home at night. Has wonderful stability has held up during downpours and gusty winds. This is my go to bag for emergencies and it also hold my iPad Pro large! It is sturdy enough to carry groceries from the local market and keeps things cold. The padding and back straps are great too! I just ordered the Moab 6 bag for lighter work days and fun! It is also easy to disinfect!
RaspundeL,
I've had this bag for a little over a year and it has served me well for everyday use and some hiking, training, etc. It is durable and I love the organization. However, it has recently developed a tendency to squeak. The squeaking sound is more obnoxious if I'm carrying any weight, but it's there even when the bag is virtually empty. It's annoying enough that I don't want to use the bag very often; after a while of not using it, I forget, grab the bag and head out the door and then have to listen to it squeak all day. Has anyone else had this issue?
RaspundeLion,
Just bought the Rush12It's quality is extraordinary and replaced with from a 50litre ruck sack, with same gearThis bag will forever be recommended
RaspundeTie,
I originally bought this pack from GULLS back in 2010 for school since I had to walk 12+ miles. I than got hired for security and than career fire/rescue. I had this pack for about 19 years and it still in great condition. I've put this pack through hell and back and still had not failed me yet. I would recommend this pack for anyone who works in harsh conditions and needs something that wont fail them. I liked this so much I also bought the Rush 24. Both have never failed me. You can wash this by hand with a brush and dawn or in the washing machine. Must air dry ONLY. This is worth the $100 investment.
RaspundeDaniel,
I bought one to use as an everyday bag, and it serves really well in that role. I've used it for everything from as a bookbag to using it as a day pack when out in the woods. My only complaint is that the rubber panels on the back have started to wear out.
RaspundeJohn,
Ive had this bag for a little over 2 years. I got this bag for an EDC after trying some other brands over the years. This bag has been w me everywhere I go for the last 2 years and has been abused. This bag has held up 100% . I am going to order a rush 24 for a hunting pack and a rush 72 for SHTF bag. These are the only pa is I will ever buy and what I recommend to anyone who asks. Great design.
RaspundeDrew,
I bought this Senior year of high school during the Black Friday sale. It has held up extremely well as my school bag, travel backpack and range bag. By far the most durable bag on the market. I have owned Oakley and North Face bags I will never buy another brand backpack again.
RaspundeJr,
I initially bought the Rush 10 sling bag for daily commute with a Macbook Air but found it was not as comfortable with the added weight of accessories, power bank, misc. EDC items. Ended up getting the Rush 12 and it is the perfect solution. Weight across the straps is like its not even there and doesn't drag me down when walking to the train. Construction and materials are all top notch and not a single thing has broken after 4 years of daily use. Thanks 5.11 for making a product people can depend on.
RaspundeSteven,
Ive been using this bag for a year now. I bought it for a carry on and day trip bag for an international vacation. Its seen 3 countries so far and severed its purpose well. Ive also used it as an EDC bag at work as a paramedic. Its worked well as a camping day trip bag because I can attach it to my larger bags like my als 84. Once you have it on your back you barely notice its there.
RaspundeEon,
Had this bag for 5 years and it's still going strong. I use it for any day long activity weather it be a day at the beach, the range, the mountains or just going over a friends house to play video games. I would recommend this to anyone who spends time outdoors. For service members allowed to use thier own packs I would recommend the Rush 24.
RaspundeRico,
I been looking for a Backpack like this for many years! I'm loving this Green one (TAC OD 188)
RaspundeStuart,
I bought the Rush 12 backpack for its small size, but large capability. From its hydration pouch to its versatile compartments make the Rush 12 the best small footprint day pack on the market. I bought mine on Amazon and it was missing the sternum strap; however, a quick note to 5.11s customer service center solved the problem. Lisa in customer service promptly sent out the missing sternum strap. 5.11 is the epitome of best product combined with leading edge customer support.
RaspundeMark,
The Rush12 was the first 5.11 bag I ever tried. It made me a believer. I loved the compartments and organization. I added a couple of side molle pouches and made it even better. I have since bought a Rush 72 for travel. 5.11 backpacks are made with superior quality. The toughest decision will be what size bag to buy.
RaspundeJamie,
This just traveled with me on a Team Rubicon deployment to Savannah, GA for Operation PATRIOT SOUTHa joint operation between Team Rubicon and the Georgia National Guard for domestic disaster response training. The ability to quickly switch out configurations with MOLLE attachments for the needs of the day meant that I had one pack that was perfectly suited for whatever mission I was assigned for the day. It's durable, comfortable for extended periods on my back, and looks cool as hell with my nametape and org patch on it. I also have a RUSH 6 and the ability to attach that quickly and easily to the RUSH 12 makes the RUSH series a must-have. A couple of the guys I deployed with were really impressed with the RUSH 6, so I think 5.11 is going to see some more sales from Team Rubicon members soon.
RaspundeEmily,
Honestly the most functional and best pack I've had, hands down! The organizer pockets keep things from getting lost, the full zip down the sides allow me to pack and find anything quickly, and the Mollie system allows me to create whatever configuration I need, when I need it.
RaspundeTravis,
I bought my Rush 12 almost 7 years ago and I use it constantly. It's been through many field ops and flights. Not once has it let me down. It's amazing how much stuff you can cram into this bag. It's very comfortable and can be worn all day with no issues. Highly recommend this backpack.
RaspundeAnthony,
I bought the 5 11 RUSH 12 pack in sandstone back in September 2018. I have used and abused it every day since then. This is my EDC pack. I love the organization of the pack itself. The admin pouch has several pockets with room to carry pens, notebook, my 2 Glock 27 magazines and tourniquet. I carry large fixed blade knife in the main compartment. There is plenty of room to store your jacket, sweatshirt or anything else you want. The 1050 denier ballistic nylon is bomb proof. A few weeks ago, I used this pack in the rain. It was pouring with puddles everywhere. I layed my pack down and forgot my firearm was inside. When I grabbed it, the pack was wet and so was my pistol BUT with only a few drops. The ballistic nylon absorbed most it protecting my gear! I love this pack! Good job 5 11!!
RaspundeKyle,
This pack offers great versatility without being oversized, I chiefly use it for college and some occasional field trips or long-distance travel, the RUSH 12 performed extraordinarily well as it always has a place for everything I take with me, the essentials I usually carry are a pencil box, few notebooks and a novel, an EDC organizer pouch, an IFAK and of course some textbooks. They all fit in the pack with ease, the front admin pouch is super useful if I have to store smaller things like tissue paper, flashlight, more pens or keys etc , the addition of the stash pouch above the admin pouch is another space well devised since I can just pull open the single zipper and quickly pit whatever I want in there, so I don't have to struggle with those dual-zippered pouches, the eyewear pouch and hydration pocket aren't often used in my case so I can't make any comments on it now, but I suppose they're also perfect at doing what they're designed for .So to sum up, regardless of the fact that you're in military, a LE personnel or just a civilian, the RUSH 12 is going to serve you well, it's resilient construction and fantastic organization makes it literally outperformed most tactical and civilian-grade bags alike, this is as well the only bag I would trust in the rigorous outdoor scenarios, 5.11 is just an unbelievable company that designs mind-boggling products, the RUSH 12 is still killing it even after so many years since its debut.
RaspundeJohn,
This is a great sized multi-purpose bag. I originally purchased this to have a more respectable version of a diaper bag for a Dad to carry. It has served its purpose very well, especially for the amount of stuff I need to carry for twins. I will also use the bag for EDC and carrying materials for courses I am teaching. Its well made, lots of storage, and comfortable. Plus, it is a practical size to carry around in public without it being awkward.
RaspundeCodey,
It took about 3 weeks for the order to even process. After having to call twice and asking to cancel the order, they ended up giving me 2 day shipping so that it would get to my place. After everything, it took 3 weeks to order and receive when it could've been ordered off amazon for cheaper and would've shipped in half the time. The quality of the bag, however, is excellent and is the only thing that saved my review. It is very sturdy and seems like it is great quality. I plan on using it as a shooting/rec bag and it seems perfect for that. I would usually be more patient with shipping, but I never received an estimated delivery date or anything so I was left in the dark as to when I would actually receive the product. Thank you to Ruth from Customer Service for expediting the process and getting me fast shipping.
RaspundeBob,
I 've had it as a present five years ago. I am using it for EDC and for weekend trips. My usual EDC setup is consisted of a dsl camera (nikon d7100) plus a prime lens, a 14'' laptop (which is a tight fit on the hydration compartment), a couple of electronics (chargers for phone/camera/laptop, couple of hard disks, kindle) a book, a back-up t-shirt and lunch and dinner (3 tupperware and some fruit). I can fit and organize all of this stuff inside and then some.In terms of comfort and durability, it's an excellent backpack. I ruck for almost 2 hours/day every day and I had no back pains or anything. I have it until today, using it as my edc and apart from color fade (I have a black rush 12), nothing else reveals its age. Moreover, it's full of hacks and stuff that you cannot even think of them (but they are there when you need it). Examples? The padded, comfortable straps, the "secret", easily accessible pocket for glasses/phone, the hydration compartment, able to fit a laptop, the mesh pockets inside, the perfect admin pocket, the molle... I love everything about it. Cons? Well, just one. Hydration compartment could be a laptop compartment (no protection at all, but still, laptop cannot touch the ground (no false bottom, just the backpack's construction)). Bigger laptops don't fit there, too. It can fit at most my 14'' thinkpad t450s. A bigger laptop easily fits inside the biggest pocket, though (I had a 15.4'' dell latitude d830 and it was fitting inside (I put it just for reference)).All in all, I absolutely recommend this product. It has lots of organization compartments, it's very durable, and constructed in a very clever, almost genious way.
RaspundeRick,
This is a great bag, very tough with a lot of room. This bag is constantly in my car at work, with me on investigations, out in the deer woods, and with me on vacation. The admin panel is extremely useful for keeping pens and small items like chargers organized. The eyewear pouch does a great job protecting my glasses and/or sunglasses. I bought mine in double tap, and photos dont do justice to how good this color scheme looks... it looks very professional and not mall ninja-y. Very durable... after a year of constant use, the only wear is some loose threads. Works great with the Rush Tier rifle sleeve. All in all a great bag, you wont regret buying one!
RaspundeAshton,
I bought this backpack off of Amazon, and I have had it for about a week now. I did a lot of research online and I was trying to find one backpack that could do everything I needed it for pretty well. I wanted one backpack, not 4 or 5 for different purposes. This backpack meets that criteria very well. I am an Airline employee so I travel quite a lot, and I wanted something small enough to be a carryon. I use this backpack at work on the ramp, and I plan on using this backpack on hikes and camping trips as well. I also plan on using it for school. As I said I wanted one bag that could do it all, and this bag does that beautifully for me. The only complaint I have with the backpack that dropped it down to a 4/5 stars is that I don't find the shoulder straps to be all that comfortable. I prefer straps that go over the chest a bit more, where these ones dig into my armpits quite a bit. Other than that though this is a phenomenal backpack.
RaspundeAsh,
I did lots of research before making this purchase. As an airline employee I travel a lot, I also enjoy camping, hiking, etc... I am also a college student. As a minimal kind of guy I wanted 1 bag that could do everything I wanted rather than having multiple bags for different purposes. I just bought this bag but so far it is exceeding my expectations in every way. I can easily fit everything I need for a whole week when staying in a hotel and probably 2 or 3 days when camping. Not everyone can do that though I just pack extremely light compared to most. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars instead of all 5 stars, is because I actually dont care for the shoulder straps. I prefer straps, that go over onto my chest a little bit where the ones on the rush 12 kind of hug my arm pits which I personally find uncomfortable. Other than that though phenomenal back pack.
RaspundeJohn,
I have used the 12 for hiking before, but you are limited space wise. However, it makes a great EDC pack. I use this for work all the time to hold a change of clothes, shoes, toiletries, drinks, etc. It can also hold a 3L hydration pack, but again, when you do so, you are limited space wise.
RaspundeLuke,
This bag is versatile while not being overbearing. Small enough for the EDC but big enough to call all you want with some extra space. Great bag. I would like to see more color options maybe bring real tree back for this bag?
RaspundeDaniel,
I personally do not own another item that I can recommend more than the Rush 12, I would trust it with my life. I've have had the Rush 12 for years and can not believe how well it is holding up. After a year of owning this pack, I decided to try to break it and use the pack in stupid ways that would break other backpacks. Nothing I did phased it. If you are looking for an incredibly resilient backpack, you just found it.
RaspundeG,
I mainly use this for travel, although it sometimes is my edc bag. It fits all of the things I need depending on where I am going. I can also fit a few outfits, then again I also am 53 so my clothes may be smaller and easier to pack than others. I fit everything I could possibly need while traveling. When this is my edc bag I can fit a ton of things with all of the compartments on this bag. This is the best backpack I have ever purchased.

RaspundeKurt,
The RUSH12 has been a fantastic backpack. It has been a faithful companion on multiple camping and road trips all over the US and Canada. It is roomy enough to take as my only pack for short (2-3 day) road trips. It can (just) fit a couple changes of clothes and a suit. But where it excels is for short day trips, where it is perfect for carrying drinks, snacks, radios, binoculars etc. all neatly organized and protected.I find that the Source Tactical "WLPS Low Profile 3L Hydration Reservoir" fits the hydration pocket like a glove. Even when completely full (3L capacity), it causes very little bulging. Thanks 5.11 for a great pack!
RaspundeEvan,
I love the backpack and it's been pretty good to me, but the straps that determine how large the arm holes are slip when taking the bag on and off. If there's away that they could could make it to where the straps stayed where you put them without slippage the bag would be great.
RaspundeNicholas,
One of the best EDC bag for working commute. Laptop packs nicely along with EDC gear. Straps are comfortable and distributes weight nicely.
RaspundeJon,
Great Company Great Gear: Bought 3 bags 2 years ago for a book bag for my kids to take to school. As these things go they have been used for just about everything; book bag; camping; hiking; airsoft etc. 2 years later and they still look like new. The only failure point after 2 years of abuse is the main pocket paracord for the zipper pull finally wore through. I can attest that these bags have been used and abused. A normal high-end $50-60 book bag would only last my kids 3 months at best. We live in Arizona so they are required to keep their bags outside on the ground because there isnt room for them in the class and they do not provide lockers. This also means they are required to haul everything they need throughout the day with them. I can honestly say these bags have saved me at least $600 over the last 2 years. Thank you 511!
RaspundeRoy,
I purchased this Rush12 Backpack in Singapore from the 5.11 Tactical Authorized Dealer, Hock Gift Shop. The Rush12 backpack is well built, and has excellent cushioning on the contoured yoke shoulder strap system. The front admin panel has plenty of compartments for proper organisation of my personal items. The main compartment is very spacious with sufficient space to pack for a full day trip. With proper packing, it may even have enough space to pack for up to 3 days trip. Although the Rush12 back is a tactical backpack, it's design is not "overly" tactical. You don't get stares from people wondering why someone would carry a military tactical backpack at the shopping mall. The size of the backpack is perfect for everyday carry. Not too big or too small for my use. I have finally found my perfect everyday carry backpack. Thank you 5.11 Tactical for such a wonderful product.
RaspundeAnthony,
This bag is great, it's my EDC. I use it for school, work, and traveling. It's perfect and has some sturdy zippers.
RaspundeJax,
I originally had the RUSH MOAB 10 for my edc. Loved it but recently started needing a little more space to carry all my day to day gear, and needed more security for the times I needed to run. The RUSH 10 just wasn't cutting it for me anymore. I already had the 24 and 72 but those were too much to use for everyday. So after alot of research and testing, I finally opted to get the RUSH 12. And I gotta tell you, I couldn't be happier with purchasing this pack. Carries all my gear and I still have space left. Extremely comfortable fit. And can take a serious beating. I've tossed it, rolled it, and drove it into the dirt, and still holds up great.
RaspundeE,
I'm a police officer who works in rural areas and I wanted a smaller backpack I could use as a go bag for when I needed to head into the woods (missing people, escaped prisoner etc). I love this bag so much. I pack a heavy jacket, hi vis vest, para cord, toque, ball cap, extra pens, notebooks, camera, ammunition and other gear. I've deployed it in the field twice in the 6-7 months I've had it and its served me well. I added the 5.11 6.6 med pouch to the MOLLE on the back, attached a water bottle carrier on the left and a gps holder on the right. I'm considering adding a rifle/shotgun sleeve on it as well. This bag is a constant companion when I'm on patrol. On my days off I use it for day hikes.Planning to purchase the Rush 72 backpack for overnight trips.Best backpack I've ever owned.

RaspundeJason,
I'm a vet who is in his second semester of college and used this back all of first semester. This back handled all my daily use easily. College books aren't light and with a mall IFAK and G17 on board the bag was easy to manage and held up flawlessly. I liked the bag so much I promoted it to my Get-Home bag. I would have given 5 stars but I couldn't easily mange my G17 and spare mag.
RaspundeNetloc,
One of the best backpacks I have ever used. I use it for my day backpack as a student at school. But I also will use it for almost any other time I need a day backpack. It easily holds my surface pro 3 in a case. I can also fit my hp 15.6 inch laptop, but it is a very tight fit. When I do this, I cant get my sunglasses out of the sunglasses pocket. But not really a problem. Super durable and great to have the webbing all over the backpack. I probably will get a matching Rush72 for the tier system.
RaspundeLame D.,
This backpack is really great for waterfowl hunters who need a smaller pack that holds a full day's supply of gear. I've used numerous other blind bags over the years, but this backpack is the most efficient one I've come across. You can easily customize it to fit your particular needs. It's a bit pricey if you choose the camo pattern, but I feel the pack is worth the price.
RaspundeJames,
I have been carrying my Rush12 daily for 2 years and it is great. It handles my MacBook Pro 15", my iPad, all my associated support gear, a couple file folders and other stuff. Sturdy, holds lots of small molle pouches, Good adjustable straps. Now what could be better: the serrated pieces that rub against your back so pack doesn't move around hit me at belt level and have damaged the belt loops of my pants. The zippers are sturdy but the two that open the main section often get stuck on the rain edging. The sunglass pouch could be a tad wider. I wish my laptop fit into the pouch in the main section was a bit wider and the tightening feature was gone ( it makes that section really tight for laptops or file folders). Minor issues for a great ED pack!
RaspundeJ,
I bought the Rush12 initially looking to build an EDC bag for my truck. I ended up not doing that, because of how versatile this pack is. It's comfortable (and that's saying something I have recurring back problems), spacious, well organized, and really just great overall. It holds my computer and books just fine, or I can stuff it full of gear for trips or camping. Great as a day pack, EDC, school pack, really anything.
RaspundeRobert,
I purchased this bag for GORUCK events. Mostly, because it looked durable and functional for my needs at 1/3 of the cost of the GR1. I used the original bag for 3 events and the yoke on the shoulder straps started to rip at the seam. I had this for less than a year. I contacted customer service and was able to exchange easily. The included sternum strap is very comfortable and I also like the loop holes for a hip belt integration which I utilize (belt not included). I'm not sure about the reviews stating that the size is small. I have packed 6 bricks, a 3L hydration bladder, wind breaker, snacks, Nalgene bottle and a few other items. This is a great bag for the money and can take quite a bit of abuse. This is rated at 4 stars because I fear that if the bag rips at a seam outside of 1 year it may not be repaired or replaced because there is not a lifetime warranty that accompanies the bag.
RaspundeAvocadodude,
The MOLLE loops on the side only offer 3 rows. the fourth row is stitched to close and the SlipStick bars won't fit. This prevents the 6" pouches from being mounted on the side. Good bag other than that.
RaspundeKen,
Originally rated 3 stars due to position of chest strap but after a kind email from 511 instructing how to change position of the strap it now gets top rating.
RaspundeDavid,
I love both my 5.11 packs. The Rush 12 and the Rush 72. I use my 72 on a daily basis to carry my computer (relatively small) and all my EDC stuff. I have way more room than I need but the 12 won't hold the laptop. The Rush 12 is my day pack for when I go hiking. The 72 gets much more use and over the 4+ years I have had it, has shown little wear. Just where my computer sits in the front pocket. I also use this on one or 2 night business trips to keep from checking a bag. Make sure if you are getting this pack for school you go with a bigger pack than the 12. It's just a small day pack. Not meant for computers & books.

RaspundeFish,
I bought this backpack for a laptop bag. I am a cop and wanted a tactical bag but nothing to large so I bought this. The bag is super durable, lots of room for a smaller bag. It is the perfect laptop bag. I put foam in the bottom for protection to the laptop due this not be a designated laptop bag. Even without the foam the bag protects the laptop really well. I have a 14 inch laptop and it fits well, a 15 inch may be tight but would fit. Everyone who has seen this bag loves it. Has great features and is a top notch bag. Love it and would buy again, but as well made as this bag is it may be a long time before I need one.

RaspundeSteven,
This bag isn't terrible by any means, but buyers should definitely think hard about what they intend to use it for.The bag itself is well constructed with great material. The zippers seem strong, the bag is sturdy, and I wouldn't worry much about being rough with it or taking it out in rough weather. There's a decent number of pockets to help stay organized as well, which is nice if you hate having to dig to the bottom of your bag every time you want to grab something. The size, however, is small. It's not tiny by any stretch, but it's definitely "compact." For outdoor trips, this works great because it keeps the bag close to your body and from getting snagged on anything as you move around.Unfortunately, however, I bought this bag namely for college purposes. From the way the bag is presented, I thought this would be a sizeable bag that would easily hold a laptop, a textbook or two, along with a couple of notebooks and other accessories (calculator, pens, laptop charger & mouse, etc). The bag doesn't even come close to meeting this expectation. This is a bag that can hold some small items (snacks or small equipment/tools, things like that), a small hydration unit, sunglasses, and a single change of light clothes (shorts, shirt, socks, underwear) if you make efficient use of the space. If you're looking for something to take with you on short hikes, jog around a park, or family outings to an amusement park, then this bag should do the job.If you're looking for a bag to meet your professional or educational needs, however, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere.
RaspundeDavid S.,
This bag does everything right, Great organization and weight distribution, this pack cannot be recommended enough.
RaspundeSam,
I've owned this bag for 3 years and from school, hiking, camping, mission trips, and more this backpack has been everywhere and done everything I've needed it to do. This pack is big enough to fit a weeks worth of (summer) clothes in, big enough to fit a separated AR. The construction is rock solid. And the zippers are a thing of beauty, dozens of times I've put enough stress on them to where I think they may break, but they never have and I doubt they ever will.If anything happened to this bag I wouldn't hesitate to drop the money for another. Seriously the best $100 I've ever spent.
RaspundeWilliam,
I've owned the rush 12 a little over two years now. it goes everywhere with me and carries a lot of weight. Not one stitch has come lose or busted. High quality product!
RaspundeWebb,
I love this backpack. It is great when I'm on drills or everyday carry pack. I use it constantly. I just ordered a couple more items I can use to make it even better. You won't go wrong with this pack.
RaspundeKris,
I recently purchased this back pack, and so far it is great. The only thing I wish it had was a place to mount a holster on the inside of the back pack to carry my extra firearm so it would be concealed, other than that awesome bag.
RaspundeAven,
I use this bag as an everyday carry bag for a year now. if packed right this can be used as a 3 day pack or even more! As a surgeon, I use it to carry some of my instruments, other bags tend to be punctured by them but not this one.. nice bag.
RaspundeHoodstark,
I hope they never stop making this bag, b/c at this rate, with its rugged build, my first bag is going to last me 10 years.
RaspundeKen,
I use the Rush 12 to carry my laptop computer, first aid kit, rain gear, jacket, emergency overnight kit and a change of socks and underwear. I travel frequently and this always goes with me. I use the backpack daily and it has held up. The zippers still work perfectly, there are no tears or wear marks. Well worth the price.
RaspundeAshley,
Okay, so in short this bag is the best bag ever. I have a tendency to go through bags because I carry a lot of heavy books, the corners tend to tear through the material most backpacks are made of. But not this bag. I abuse this bag constantly and it has yet to do anything but preform. There's a lot I like about this bag, and pretty much nothing I don't. Capacity: typically I don't use this pack to max capacity but I have and it holds A LOT. I've fit 3 notebooks, a 1" binder, computer, and 3 text books in there, plus charger and pencils and all the goodies in the extra pockets. In terms of packing, I can easily get 3 nights worth of clothing and toiletries no problem. Support: the support on this bag is great. The yoke style straps distribute the load really nicely and you don't get any discomfort no matter how full it is. There are pads down at the bottom as well, which is great for when you have to carry the bag for a long time. Theres even a grippy material that keeps it from moving around a lot, but its still comfortable even on bare skin. Pockets: this thing has an INSANE amount of pockets. I honestly don't use all of them regularly, but it has something for everything. I really like the mesh zipper pockets in the main compartment. Thats what separates this pack from others. Usually I keep chargers and cords in there, but it's great for toiletries and such if you're traveling, or small things that usually fall to the bottom if you're on the job. Material Quality: I read that some people were having issues with zippers and seams, but I have yet to come close to any of those issues. Not a single seam has popped and the zippers work flawlessly. The material on the bag is everything you could ever want from a tac bag. Its heavy duty without heavy weight. It breaks in really nicely, but still holds its shape fabulously. Living in Florida and being a student usually means I have to walk somewhere no matter what the weather, and most afternoons that means torrential downpours. I know this bag isn't advertised as such, but it's absolutely weatherproof. I've never had so much as a drop leak through in the heaviest, sideways rain. It keeps everything inside safe and dry. Also the material dries very quickly, so you dont end up toting around a soggy sack. The only thing I might do is get another since I use this thing for everything. School, travel, gym, outdoors, sports, etc. It kinda get's annoying loading and unloading things every two seconds. However, this is an awesome bag and I wouldn't be nervous about buying it whatsoever.
RaspundeMjj,
I recently used the Rush 12 as my travel pack on a weekend trip to great success. So much so that I decided to used it as my travel pack for two weeks. So far, it's been successful, too. It helps that I've packed only what I need and nothing else. I'm staying in a place where I have access to laundry facilities, so I didn't need to pack and excess of clothing. I also packed my Macbook Air, my iPad Mini, as well as my Covert Z.A.P. for when I want to carry an even smaller pack around town. Everything fit into the Rush 12 with room to spare. I even emptied all of my travel gear (that's right - all of it) into the Z.A.P. and used the Rush 12 to tote around my laptop a few times.Win-Win.The Rush 12 is both versatile and adaptable in ways I never imagined. I'll be using it for future short-term, and long-term, trips. I'm confident it will meet the challenge with no problem.
Raspunde308 S.,
I got this pack used, and in perfect condition, not from the owner but because of the craftsmanship of the pack. I use it daily, always switching out from day use hiking, over night hiking, range day, work, and loading it up with my kids stuff. All around this is an amazing piece. Truly strong, fits more than you could imagine, yet just the right size. I was weary about this pack being to bulky for every day stuff, but I was wrong. This product comes highly recommended from me.Currently, Ive got the 5.11 med kit stocked on the one side, the 5.11 rifle sleeve(which works awesome as well) on the front, a double mag pouch and voodoo leather-man/gps combination pouch on the other side. Also a 72oz bladder in its proper place as well.
RaspundeEvery M.,
I use this bag for everything. When I go on a short vacation (2-3 days) this is the bag I use. When I'm going on a day hike this is the bag I use. My work takes me away from home a lot. I use this bag as my EDC/ Get home bag.My wife got me this bag about three years ago, and since then I've had no other bag. I am, however, thinking of getting the Rush 24, just to increase my options a little bit.
RaspundeForest M.,
Very good for as EDC, for hiking, hunting and outdoor activity.Because of sliping straps, for me, limited using as a tactical - if you run, and weight of the bag is over 12 lbs, the bag is moving down on your back.Waist belt will help.If you carry an axe for example, you must improvize how to fix it on the bag. 2 side strap will fix it. Othervise, great product.
RaspundeMickey F.,
Great product! Used for hunting, EDC, bug out bag, and everything else imaginable.
RaspundeTom,
Zippers felt a bit stiff for the first month. Plenty of room inside for dayhiking.
RaspundeRobinson,
5.11 delivers a great product once again. I currently own three of the Rush 12 bags. One as an active shooter bag on patrol, one for hunting, and one for personal use. The Rush 12 is small enough to use for day to day operations, but large enough to fit the necessities. The bag is extremely comfortable and durable. I highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a high quality bag.
RaspundeReaper1,
I've had this bag for a few months & it's amazing. I can't find one major flaw about it. I use this bag for everyday use, camping, running, & on operations. The bag is very comfortable even when stuffed with heavy equipment. The molle webbing allows me to attach more stuff to the bag. The admin pocket allows me to carry valuable EDC gear. I don't recommend you put your sunglasses in the sunglass pocket. I would carry my sunglasses there & my glasses broke since its a struggle to put your glasses in the pocket or take them out. Other than that this a great bag, best bag I've had so far.
RaspundeBy M.,
When I was studying the Rush 12, in detail, before buying it, I found two videos reviewing it. The first one shows a guy packing for a four day trip. He packed everything he needed for his trip in the Rush 12, and still had space to spare. The second video was comparing the 12 to the 24. This guy was able to put everything he had in his Rush 24 into his Rush 12. My first thought was that the Rush 12 reminded me of Doctor Who's TARDIS - small on the inside, humongous on the inside. So I tried it...in three variations.First, I packed my Rush 72, which can hold at least two week of travel gear if I do my part (I got that from another video I saw), and still have room. Then I looked at the one week of packing and tried packing it in the 24. It fit just fine thankyouverymuch. Then I looked at my Rush 12 and thought, "why not?" The 12 was filled to the gills, but it all fit. Now, I like to take a smaller pack with me when I travel so I can carry essentials with me during the day. I looked at the 12 and 24 and thought, "I bet it works."Sure enough, after re-packing my gear into the 24, I packed the 12 on top of it. Yes, that worked, too. I had, essentially, packed a TARDIS inside a TARDIS. Just looking at my Rush 72, I knew I could have packed the 24, with my travel gear inside it, into my 72. A TARDIS inside a TARDIS, inside a TARDIS. Score! You say you're making 12, 24, and 72 hour bags, 5.11, but now I know your secret. You're actually making packs that can carry travel gear for days and weeks. Well, now your secret is out, and I have one thing to say - "Please, don't ever stop making these bags? They're worth every penny. Now, what other great secrets can I discover about the Rush 12...?
RaspundeRhino,
I have the RUSH 12 that I use as my med pack I think it is a good sturdy pack and it actually holds quite a bit for being a smaller pack. I like alot of the features it has like the velcro tabs by the carry handle with holes for a hydration bladder as well as all the storage space inside. But all the MOLLE webbing is what really sold me on it because you can always add to it if you need to. I also have another of these packs, in multicam, and really like them both.I was however disappointed to find that the 6.6 med pouch and the 6.10 (vertical) pouch I recently ordered does not fit on the side of the bag. At first I thought that it was because it is a smaller pack but checked out the RUSH 24 and they wouldn't fit on the side of it either. Now I can only put so many pouches on the front and dont see the point in having the MOLLE webbing on the sides if you cant really use it. Besides I think it really narrows the versatility of the bag. This is just poor engineering on 5.11's part and is easy to fix, and if/when they do then this pack will get all five stars.
RaspundeMy R.,
Awesome backpack. I load it up with an outdated, heavy laptop along with a binder everyday and it is still comfortable. Also use it for short trips. Rush 12 couldn't get any better.
RaspundeWilly P.,
I use this pack every time I ride. "A sport bike." It fits enough for a two day trip. It solves the great problem of conceal carry on a bike. It doesn't shift around while riding, even though it only has one strap, stays right in place. I can't believe 511 hasn't marketed this to riders yet.
RaspundeTaz D.,
I use this as my EDC bag and so far it has done all that I have asked of it. Just a bit small for a camera and spare lens. The two things I wish could be changed is getting rid of the drainage hole in the main compartment and possible improving the base of the bag to be a bit more heavy duty/rigif.Easy to customise with accessory pouches, the organiser section is pretty good.Pockets could be a bit bigger to hold larger items- book, etc.
RaspundeNewfoundking,
I ordered this pack when I needed a newer, better bag for Ground Search and Rescue. I've got to say, this is by far the best, most versatile, and useful bag I've ever owned. It started its life with me as my field bag only, but I use it for everything now. There's so much room, this has become my on-call go bag, as well as my field bag, and everyday carry. The compartments in it allow me to put what's most important where I know I can find it when I need them, which is essential as sometimes I need that one item in a flash, and I don't have time to lull about digging through. It's small enough to be worn when crawling through trees, bushes, and whatever else my duties entail, but at the same time, it's got so much storage and access, I cannot complain. This thing has pockets, upon pockets, upon more pockets. I almost had trouble filling them all!My biggest complaint about this bag is there is no waist strap, while not a major problem, it does make things a little more bumpy on my back. It can be easily added, but something like this should come stock.
RaspundeMax,
I am a member of a Search and Rescue Squad in northern Minnesota. I had a wood search pack prior to the Rush 12, and that one was terrible to try and get something out of the main compartment. You had to take everything out of the pack to get to something. The Rush 12 allows me to open the top of the main compartment and have full access to anything I need. The multiple mesh compartments make things way way easier to store things and keep the main compartment open for other items. THE MAIN SUGGESTIONS I have would be to add WAIST STRAPS to the bag so it does not slide side to side while walking in uneven terrain. I would also look into THE PADS for the SHOULDER STRAPS and BACK PADDING. The straps and padding are very stiff and feel hard on your shoulders and back. Also, they seem to add a lot of weight to the pack. Other than those two suggestions, the pack is great! Very easy to use, the weight is manageable, and the opportunities for all the accessories are a huge plus. I attach the nalgene holder on one side of the pack and the radio holder on the other and it works great. The pack will not let you down, and I would suggest the Rush 12 to other members on the department I work for if it had the waist straps, that is truly it's biggest hold up.
RaspundeDuke,
I use this as my sons diper bag it is awsome and I have his name tape velcro on the back.
RaspundeAj,
Comfortable quality bag, not too big and not too small. A lot of compartments/pockets to store your stuff. I use it as/for: HandluggageSmall tripsBikingWeekendbagLaptopbagWorkbagOutdoor activitiesSportbag I also use this bag when it's raining again and I need the content to stay dry....
RaspundeCharlie,
Immagine if it had back up belt system like the moab 10. Id use it every day of my life! Instead i loaded it as a range pack with everyting you could possibly immagine to take to the range(not the kitchen sink) but everythings got its own pouch like it should and organizations key day prior to qualification. Ar-mags, and glocks and all the safety stuff u can immagine.
RaspundeProvidence R.,
Perfect size for carrying what I need for the day - lap top, water, lunch, Kimber, extra mag, sure fire, cell phone, multi tool, wallet, pocket constitution, etc.
RaspundeSmallville,
I used this backpack for school and hikes, as well as camping or four wheeling. I love all the pockets! It allows me to keep all my gear separate and organized so I know where it is. Having the zippers going all the way down to the bottom of the pack makes it easy to load and get to my stuff. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with waist straps since it has a place for it to hook on to. This would be nice for hiking and four wheeling to help keep the pack tight to me.
RaspundeAdam,
I love this backpack, Being in search and rescue I needed a good MOLLE pack and i found this one. I have used this for a long time and have no complaints. It is able to fit all of my gear for 24 hours and when I add 1 utility pouch to it I cn carry 72 Hours worth of gear. This is Easily the best pack on the market at this price. the MOLLE system is just a plus.
RaspundeCheryl,
I purchased this as a gift for a First Responder in the family. They love it. It's durable and can hold all of the items they need daily on the job while still being comfortable. Highly recommended.
RaspundeSniper,
I use this bag all the time. I use it for overnight trips for work, as a range bag, as a benchrest for my rifle. It's uses are endless.
RaspundeBob,
I love everything that I own from 5.11 and this is no exception. This bag is heavy duty and very professional, it is the size of most regular backpacks you see but it has alot of room. I expect many many years of service out of this bag.
RaspundeZ H.,
This is a great bag. Comfortable, light, plenty of MOLLE space, etc. My only complaint is that there is only two pockets to speak of, the main one and the small one in front. But the main pocket is fairly deep which makes up for it. All in all a good bag and one I highly recommend.
RaspundeVivek,
I was skittish on buying this over the rush 24 at first, but this seems to work great for ultralight travel. The back compartment is just big enough to fit a 13"macbook pro and a pro notebook, which was what I was looking for. If you stuff it with light clothes and add side pouches for you can probably travel the world with this.I picked it over the COVRT 18 because there seemed to be too many different colors / reflective material on it, along with this using a stronger nylon material. My only wishes were that it looked a bit less "military" a la the goruck packs, and came in some different colors. The Sandstone color is not as bright as Tan. Otherwise this looks like a nice, drastically cheaper alternative to the goruck line.
RaspundeSnareman95,
This is a nice small to medium sized backpack. Its great as a day pack or even as a school backpack for the tacticoolist kid. ;-) Its large enough to hold a 15" MacbookPro and has plenty of accessory pockets for smaller items. Ipad also fits perfectly in the front pocket. Check out the video.
RaspundeBearspirit,
If the bag could accept the 6.10 pouches on the sides , or if 5.11 can make adaptors for the 6.10 this would make an all around contendor, also needs taped zippers to keep rain out.
RaspundeStewart,
The pack has great rugged design and the stitching is great but I've noticed that the shoulder straps slowly loosen over a period of a week to a month depending on weight put in pack.I'm a guy who likes the back to not touch his belt so the straps twist every time I get my arms in, this somehow makes the strap get more lengthy on one side making it a inch or more uneven. I do not recommend using the snapping part of shoulder straps as a quick release because the can get difficult to snap open with stuff like a bike chain and camel-pack in it.
RaspundeSkroby,
This bag is great! I've used this for around school and in the woods on hikes and such. The small size makes it light for on the move. Unlike other bags you can be very flexible (body wise) with this bag. The sandstone color is a very good camo, you can use this in the woods and in sandy areas without the backpacks position being compromised. I have used this backpack in pouring rain and all contents in the backpack have stayed dry. I highly recommend this backpack for everyone!
RaspundeEliteslayer032. N.,
I use this in school and well it's been so far one of the best bags I've owned. I'm a junior in high school and I wouldn't doubt it if this bag last me through college. It is very well built easy to adjust on the fly. When I'm not in school I use it as a day bag for walks and fishing trips. Overall a great bag worth the buy. To parents out their with teens asking for this bag I seriously recommend it I can take the beating of a teenager. Trust me I am one.
RaspundeSalvatore,
Great for packing clothes and other items!! Light weight. Easy to use and everything fits in all the compartments . There is a place for everything! Best bag ever!!!!!
RaspundeDrunktank,
I've waited a year to post a review as I wanted to put my Rush 12 through good use before passing judgement. I carry this pack on a daily basis, 7 days a week. After a year of hard use, all the stitching and zippers are still intact like the day it came. It is constantly loaded and thrown around but has yet to show any real wear. I wish my other "big name" brand bags would hold up this well. Thank you for putting out a great product.
RaspundeJake85,
I like the bag. a couple of weeks after buying it the seam on the strap started to split. I use the rush 12 everyday but it is not made as well as the rush 72 I own.
RaspundeEthan,
I bought this pack as my day trip hiking bag. Based on my experience with the Rush 24, this pack will work perfectly for shorter hikes as it is much less bulky compared to the 24. Even though the product description says it'll hold a 70oz hydration bladder, the Camelbak Mil-spec 100oz Short bladder fits PERFECTLY.
RaspundeRambler,
Top quality and features that are expected from 5.11. My biggest problem with the pack is the lack of information on the website about it in comparison to the 72. The Rush "series" video is great for the 72 but doesn't say much about the other packs. Be wary when shopping, the 12 & 24 are not smaller copies of the 72 (which is fantastic). Features like the stuff pocket and side pockets are lost with the 12 because of the size. The website could be more helpful in pointing out these differences. I will be trying out the All Hazards Nitro to meet my day pack needs.
RaspundeBryan,
The Rush line of 5.11 backpacks and the MOAB that goes with them as an add on or standalone are superb packs. I have the 24 and the 72 and they are cavernous with space, super adjustable, very comfortable because of the neck yoke design and durable as heck. The ONLY bad thing I can say about this, and it really isn't bad at all, it just didn't fit my needs, is that I did not find it substantially smaller enough that the Rush 24 that I own so couldn't justify keeping it. Again, had I not already had the 24, this would have been perfect. It is only slightly smaller and lighter so your choice would depend on your need. Otherwise, get one of these packs!
RaspundeChing C.,
It took about 2 weeks after I ordered it.It is rough, sturdy, but a bit heavier than other normal school backpacks.I put its heaviness on cons, even though I do not care about its mass, because other customersmight think it is heavy.
RaspundeJd,
I used a "standard" back pack for years on shift and while teaching. This product is not only more rugged for both but it also looks more professional.
RaspundeDarb,
Very well built, great quality. I'm using it for an emergency bag of sorts. I have packed it survival supplies, jet boil and some food. I used the 6.6 med pouch attached to the outside of the pack for our first aid kit. Its real nice and it doesn't take up space on the interior of the pack. It's going to stay in the vehicle while out camping and 4-wheeling with the family.
RaspundeDesert R.,
Excellent pack. Easy to get comfortable with and easy to load down with any necessary gear for hikes and field coverages. I picked it up for myself because the unit I'm with wasn't able to provide a pack at the time. With an additional med pouch and tear-off trauma kit makes the perfect med-bag. Also, fully loaded with 30+ pounds of gear, it's comfortable to run with for over 4 miles.
RaspundeNavi,
Man this bag feels great! Load it down with camping gear,a laptop or whatever you will love it. So solid and supportive you can easily find the right adjustment for you. I am generally rough on backpacks but this bg handles everything I can through at it and more. In all honestly this bag is a little small then I thought it would be but with all the compartments and pockets I don't have enough stuff, for a day pack, to fill it up. If the 12 hour is anything like the others in the line, all you need to do is find the size you want and I'm sure you will be happy with your purchase.
RaspundeChuckcanuck,
The Rush 12 Backpack is a great Emergency bag to have in your vehicle as it takes up very little trunk space and hold pretty much most basic Emergency gear for all seasons.
RaspundeTmbmobile,
Great back for work and out in the woods. Fits my Mac book Pro and camera during the day. Then after work remove the computer and set out for hike or ski. The size of the bag is just right for day use and would be great to take on a plane when traveling.
RaspundeKevin,
Excellent all round peice of kit. I use mine outdoors hiking, carries a full days supplies, also travelling, big enough for overnight. I also use it as an admin bag around the office - fits a laptop well and A4 papers/books/folders. A very well thought out, practical peice of kit and made to a very high quality standard.
RaspundeJf S.,
The grab handle and straps are great. I swing my bag around a lot having full hands and it shows no sign of wear yet. The sunglasses pocket is a great plus.
RaspundeSc,
Hi,This is really a very good bag, I've used it for many patrols and even on holiday. The capacity of this bag is very good, not too big and not too small.I really recommend this bag to all military and law enforcement teams.Hooyah
RaspundeGlock20,
Great product my son uses it for his school book bagLooking foward to ordering him tactical pants & shorts
RaspundeRooster,
I bought the Rush 12 after I had bought the Rush 24. Both bags are awesome! The organization design is grate and is hard to find on other bags. I bought 2 knock off brands, that are similar, but they lack the durability and organization. My only thumbs down is using the MOAB 6 with this bag. The MAOB 6 attaches fine, however it tends to move a lot, even when it is snug on the bag.Other than that, I 100% recommend the 511 bags. I just ordered a Rush-72
RaspundeCg,
I have had nothing but great use out of this bag. There are pockets I haven't even used yet. I've used it for hiking, mountain biking, and a white water rafting trip. Its held up to being thrown and tossed. I added a hydration pack that fit perfect. Its a great bag for a day trip.
RaspundeCiomit,
I am a bag hog; I currently have ten. This is my new #1. I have not found anything it can't handle and look forward to putting it on my back because it rides perfectly no matter how much weight I put in it. 5.11 rocks.
RaspundePipey,
love 5.11 gear and pointer to review by captain franklin about chest straps being too high ! they are removable so that you can place them where you want ! hope this helps
RaspundeGreg,
I ordered this product and it arrived just days before my 50K adventure race (the Little Su 50K), a race across remote winter trails in Alaska. It organized my essential gear, making it quickly accessible when needed. Zippers worked flawlessly despite being in -10 degree weather, with wind and snow. The padded shoulder harness with chest strap kept the pack in place, allowing me to race with no chaffing or interference of movement. The pack fit my back and was comfortable to wear throughout the race. I was impressed with the performance and plan on using it again next year. BTW - I found my old pack and threw it away!
RaspundeMt,
Im using the Rush 12 as my day hike kit. I've done several long hikes over mountainous terrain and it's been perfectly comfortable each time. I added a 3L water bladder to the back which fits nicely, which brings the weight up to about 15lbs. It's just big enough to hold everything I need for an extended day hike with a little room to spare.
RaspundeGot N.,
i have this bag for a year now and been using every single day at work, training and hunting and i must say that it is build to last the quality is good...I WISH THAT 5.11 WOULD HAVE THE TAN COLOR AND THE OD FOR THE RUSH 12.
RaspundeCaptain F.,
I just got back from a 9 day elk hunt in wyoming. We did not have horses or ATV's so we had to walk into our area, and be able to carry everything I would need for the day. I chose my 511 rush 12 which was a gift from my chief, for the job. I know, I Know, it comes only in black( I wished they had it in camo)but the elk did not seem to mind. I was able to carry everything I needed for the day in my pack, by everything I mean a gerber ax, mre's, elk calls, camera, flashlights, knives, range finders extra clothes jacket and water. The little bag held all of it. If I had a complaint about this bag it would be that the cheststrap is mounted to high on the shoulder straps and it had a tendancy to ride up under my neck. If you did not stuff it full it was no problem ,but with a max load it does ride up a little. I carried this pack up and down mountains for 9 straight days. It was always comfortable and it was padded enough that it did not produce any sore spots. I am going to look at some of the other 511 packs because if this little pack could take all the gear I stuffed in it I wonder how much I could get into one of their larger packs.
RaspundeGray P.,
i just bought the Rush 12 as my EDC...i am a student and i carry a lot of books and other stuff and the Rush 12 fulfilled all my needs. It has great internal organization; lots of pockets and sleeves for the little items...It rests comfortably on my back, it has the perfect size for me ( i'm 5'8"), and it has a cool color ( got the FDE version). i own a lot of tactical gears from other brands and though this is the first 5.11 product i own, it certainly made a believer out of me...i can't wait to buy another 5.11 gear (planning to buy the Multicam version). Overall, great product from 5.11 ....Kudos !!!
RaspundePolo,
A realy good bag for everyday, comfortable, good capacity (fits perfectly a 17" Laptop) but also not too big. So that's real good compromise.A lot of pouches inside make it capable of carrying all the stuff needed for a shooting training day.A bag i would recommend !
RaspundeRedsnyper,
this pack is just the right size.... not too big not too small. great featres
RaspundeGunner,
I added Maxpedition pouches as they are exactly the same colour. The pack is just right for overnight trips, can be used as cabin hand luggage on aircraft and perfect for going bush. I attach it to my basic webbing as a day pack or when I'm in barracks I use it as an admin bag.
RaspundeJordan72,
I've had this pack for about 8 months now, I use it Everyday, on patrol, hiking, fishing, range days, in my car. I love it so much I now own the Rush 12, and the Rush 24. It's the best back pack I have ever owned. Great carrying capacity, pockets, easy to get to everything, water resistant, durable. If you're looking at them do not hesitate to buy one.
RaspundeViper715,
I purchased this as I needed a smaller pack and have tried many others. I tried many other brands and packs and always had problems. I then picked up a Rush 72 and it is one of the most versatile packs I have ever used. When I started wanting something a little smaller I turned to the Rush 12 and it has fit the bill. I use it daily taking my gear back and fourth to work. I keep it loaded with the most needed tools a good supply of water and a couple of MRE's. If I have to go on a Search and Rescue on foot I can just throw it on and have just about everything that I will need. I also use it for carrying my stuff when going in to town. It holds all of my kids toys, food and diapers along with my daily gear. It is also a great day hicking pack.
RaspundeMongoose,
This bag is not quite as handy as the Rush 24 (I love pockets!) but it's smaller. The only thing that is bad about the bag is that the bottom has no stabilizer. For those who use the bag for books, this can wear out *any* bag, because of the weight and pressure day after day of being set down and picked up. However, the bag has held up over many uses, including jumping fences, college, photo shoots, and constant adjustment of the straps. Bottom line - if you need a chest strap and are carring a heavy load over 70% of the time, get the 24. If not, this bag is just fine, and is not gigantic. And there are plenty of pockets, I didn't even discover a few until after years of owning the bag.
RaspundeSb N.,
ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS BACKPACK IS GREAT AND I MIGHT GET THE RUSH 24 NEXT...
RaspundeCdm,
I love 5.11 products, I have many of them, but my only gripe is 5.11 dropping the od accessories packs and vest
RaspundeWood1271,
Excellent pack. Well made and perfect size for every day use. Pockets are well laid out and plentiful. The sandstone color is a perfect color for use in the Army if you do not want ACU. Fort Leonard Wood only allows ACU, green or black and this pack has just enough of a green tint to pass the test. I will be buying the Rush 72 for use as my assault pack. The only negative is the pen and pencil pockets are not deep enough.
RaspundeMedic,
Good small pack. Great pack to have if versatility is your objective.
RaspundeJordan,
Great construction, lightweight for what it is and durable. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great multi-use pack.
RaspundePolar B.,
I use it for everything, during the week it carries all my gear to and from work. On the weekend it doubles as my Mr. Mom bag with stuff for the kids. Worked great taking it to the mountains. Very pleased with my purchase.
RaspundeJh,
This is a good pack, but the sternum strap does not fit in the correct location. It is more of a neck strap. I have other packs where the sternum strap is removable & adjustable. This small improvement would be a big deal.
RaspundeMatt D.,
I asked for and got the Black version of this pack for Christmas to replace my old "laptop" bag as my daily bag for commuting to & from work, with a secondary use as a day-hiking/light travel pack. From my use so far (over 2 months of everyday use) it is an outstanding product! I've used to to carry my lunch, umbrella, ipod and a few other odds & ends to & from work, and have flown with it as a carry-on as well. Starting from the top: The RUSH 12 has a very ergonomic and strong carry handle on top, well designed and very well secured to the pack, much better than other packs I've had.I really like how the variety of pockets/compartments allow me to organize my stuff: The fleece-lined sunglass compartment is one of my favorite features and keeps my shades from getting all scratched up like they did in my old bag. The admin pocket (just below the sunglass pocket) holds my ipod and also my phones & keys when I put them there to go through the metal detectors at work. I would like to see this pocket a little deeper to hold more things, but it is adequate. The name tape space is also a nice touch and I have a nametape on order to place there. The larger outer compartment is excellent also and holds a decent amount of stuff (usually my lunch for work). Also like the flag/ unit patch area it has. On the inside, the main compartment is very well laid out. It has a laptop-holding pouch which fits my big Dell laptop w/ 15" screen perfectly, though it is just a touch snug. I don't mind this, as it helps keep it secure. My A/C adapter is also easily accomodated. The mesh pouches are excellent also and can hold a wide variety of small-medium items. This bag also contains a hydration pocket which will hold a 60oz or less hydration bladder, with ports for the hose to come out and be accessible. I haven't used this yet, but plan to buy a bladder and may update the review once I try this feature. The back of the bag (where your back makes contact) is VERY egronomic and comfortable with 4 contact points to help ventilate. Also has a stiff plastic backing to keep it flat against your back & prevent objects from poking you in the back. This is one of my favorite things and makes it very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The MOLLE strapping found all around the pack appears mil-spec and high quality (as I'd expect from 5.11). I don't currently have any pouches/accessories attached, but am confident that they would weave in with little trouble. The shoulder straps are by far THE most ergonomic on any pack I've ever had! I love how they curve to the human shape and keep the pack riding high, thus keeping the weight on the shoulders and off the back. They also have MOLLE webbing on them to help secure things like a camelbak hose or radio. The chest strap goes across the torso when fastened and works well to further stabilize the pack. One minor criticsm I have is that if you're not using the straps, they can flop around as you walk and have caught on my jacket as I take the pack on & off. Easy enough to fix though, I simply shoved each half under the MOLLE loops on the straps and this helps secure them. Just a minor thing that may or may not matter to you. This pack also has compression straps that, when cinched, will help shrink the size of the bag, very useful if space is limited (i.e. you're using this as a carry on bag for an airplane). I've used them while flying with this pack as my carry-on and they work well. One consideration: if you're accessing the main compartment a lot, fastening and unfastening the straps may annoy you but you don't have to use them and can simply shove them into the nearby MOLLE loops like I do with the chest strap. Overall, I find this to be an outstanding pack for EDC, light traveling or dayhiking. It is well-designed, well engineered, has very good pocket arrangements, excellent comfort under a full load and is very durable. The MOLLE also allows you to increase your load capacity by adding on external pouches like the MOAB series. Now, the RUSH 12 not something I would choose if I were going out on a 3 day expedition or really long distance hike, but it's not meant for that. If you need more capacity/space, you can upgrade to the RUSH 24 and 72. Within its limitations, this is an outstanding choice for students, commuting workers, day hikers or frequent air travelers. It's not super cheap, but high quality usually isn't. I think it will more than pay for itself through the great durability, versatility and ruggedness it will provide over years of good service, making it totally worth the money. Get this pack, you won't regret it!
RaspundeCitizen K.,
The "sternum strap" should be re-labled "adam's apple strap"! The fixed location for the sternum strap is way to high, and I am not a huge person. (5'-11", 200#) It is not adjustable to the lower molle loops on the shoulder straps as stated by another reviewer without minor surgery to the pack.Secondly, adding an accessory waist-belt to the provided loops for more control or a heavy load is infeasible unless you have a very short midsection. I understand this is a smaller load day-pack, but the overall length of the pack should be taller to fit the average Joe.Otherwise, quality and features are excellent and a fair value for the price paid. This should be "Made in the USA" though.
RaspundeIceman,
I bought this bag as a smaller pack to use as a Go Bag at work. It works very well and is easier to wear when boarding vessels at work than the RUSH 24 or 72. I also use it when out with the family to use as a diaper bag because it can still hold my essential off-duty items and my son's diaperbag essentials and not be too bulky. The main issue I have with the bag is that there are not as many pockets as the 24 has. I especially like the side pockets on the 24 to place handcuffs, extra mags and H2O so that they will be easily available without having to dig in the main and admin compartments. Some of the extra pockets at the top of the pack are a bit awkward for me to use. However, I do like the pack. I'd buy another if they made them in a different color, like flat dark earth.
RaspundeHeavyduti,
I had been searching for the perfect city bag which could also be used for short, overnight trips and carry-on luggage. Like many of you I suspect, I have purchased many bags and sold or donated most of them. Some were uncomfortable, others inadequate in construction or compartments or had too many straps and other dangly things to use while navigating subways or other transit, stores or even china shops. One, another company's bag weighed a ton and smacked everything and everybody-what was I thinking.Back to the Rush 24-it's ideal for all of my uses, super endurable and well crafted. Tons of pockets and and well-thought out features. The only problem you will have is deciding what colour to buy!!!!!I am looking forward to long-term enjoyment and am already contemplating a second 12 for other uses.
RaspundeFred,
Just got the bag and I am impressed. Should be great for office commute and as a smaller carry on. Holds my Nexus 7 tablet well.
RaspundeShawn D.,
Being a dark black on black it is hard to identify pockets inside the pockets. There are not as many secret pockets as the RUSH 24. But this pack I believe was built for a different intention. I use this as a college student to carry my days items. Good for any professional to do the same. For a LE/Military Professional who would need it tactically the MOLLE system is needed to add the necessary accessories and is great for that. (ie pouches, holster). Despite not having hip straps, it appears to be able to carry weight very well. There are two grommet holes in the bottom for drainage or whatever so be careful where you set it down (ie snow)However I would not use this as a 'bug-out' bag in times of crisis. It is VERY well made and durable, but too small for such a task. I can only see the top front pocket could be used for conceal and carry.
RaspundeDave,
This bag is great for EDC. It's comfortable and is well designed.
RaspundeAcer,
the bag is great has plenty of compartments and very durable. However, I wish it were larger especially when compared to the rush 24 it is drastically different in size. Overall a great bag.
