I have been wearing 5. 11 since they were made by Royal Robbins and only available at the outdoor and camping stores. 5. 11 has evolved into some of the most practical products around. The ABR shorts have the fit and design of the original 5. 11 pants with a modern improved fabric. The cargo pockets are large enough to hold Glock 19 magazines upright.

it seems that the 2024 version is smaller fitting than the earlier version as I have both and find when measuring and wearing that the later version is a little smaller in the waist and thigh area. Pre 2024 versions are far better fitting.

I'm trying the ABR shorts after my disappointment with the 'early snap failure' on 3 of my Stryker shorts. Button waist closure much more promising than the snapp on the Strykers. So far, so good. I'm getting used to the different pocket design. One thing I can't figure out: the Tool Strap. Tool Strap? Guess I missed that in the description. Really got in my way so I cut it off.

The reason for my star rating is that i hope 5.11 corporate sees this. I really like these shorts. Durable and comfortable to a point. Where they aren't comfortable is when i use my CCW or just sit down in general. Reason why they aren't comfortable is because 5.11 pretty much has these as booty shorts. I am 6'3 200lbs. I need shorts with a longer inseam. I like 5.11 shorts and i want to love them. I love the ABR pants for sure. So please start making clothes for taller people. You would have more sales and customers if you vastly improved the big and tall. Point is im tired of sitting in these shorts and having them pull up and showing my entire thigh and riding into my butt. Other than that they are great.

The one star rating is so i hopefully get a response and see eventual change to their shorts. So i am 6'3 200lbs 35in waist. I bought the ABR shorts because they feel nice and seem durable(Haven't let me down yet). My issue with them being as tall as i am that tge inseam is to short. The whole point of why i bought these shorts was to be able to CCW. But they ride midway up my thigh and when i sit they dissappear into my butt. If 5.11 can fix this issue for us tall people, anyone 6' or over you would get more customers and more sales. You do this for most your pants. I have the ABR pants and absolutely love them. So please fix this issue. Update your big and tall section(Skinny, average waist size and tall section). Hope to hear you will try to do this.

I bought a pair of the ABR pants last year and they quickly became my favorites. Purchased two pair of the ABR shorts and they did not disappoint. Very comfortable and nicely designed. Versatile pockets for carrying my EDC load. I also have several pair of Taclite pants and shorts which I like, but these ABR's are definitely as step above.

I wore these shorts in Florida for most of my trip. They are very comfortable and have so many pockets for all of my edc. The thing I like the most is that the cargo pockets don't pop out and look goofy. The pants fit really well and the stretch is perfect for my concealed carry pistol. I definitely recommend these for the guy who carries a bunch of stuff.

I bought these to wear off duty and to specifically carry a Glock 43 in my pocket with an extra mag in the left top mag pouch. I really wish for one there was another mag pouch on the right side instead of the slash pocket and I hate the back pockets ad they are useless for me. I want the back pockets to he traditional velcro flap pockets and I wish the front lower cargo pockets were a little bigger for more gear. This was the only model I could find with the closed front mag/utility pocket. If they had two I could choose which side to have my off duty pistol and have my full size folding knife fully protected and concealed, which would be nice as the sheep get scared when they see even a cutting tool.

Having worn the 5.11 Tactlite Pro pants for many years for work, I realized how much I would benefit from having some of their shorts. I'm a flatbed delivery driver, so I work in all kinds of weather. Both the pants and shorts have been great, and I'll be really thankful for them once the summer heat hits. They fit well, seem durable, pockets are just right, the gusset is very helpful for ease of movement.

Very comfortable, very flexible and works great with my concealed carry. But...it does not handle stains or liquids well. I was able to rescue them from one stain with some Dawn power wash. Not even sure what it was from, I didn't spill anything that big on them or in that area.

Good shorts. Sized before the waist expands (unlike the Stryke and cargo shorts, which are sized with the waist expanded), which is a plus. Comfortable. Four stars instead of five due to the accessory slit pocket being too small to fit my cellphone (Pixel 4a with ToughArmor case), and they tend to be a little noisy. But, I like them enough that I have 3 pair.

These shorts are an upgrade to the Taclite shorts. The waistband has stretchy fabric on the side and none of the elastic waistband of the taclites and a metal button instead of the snap . There is also the addition of a magazine/ wallet pocket on the left rear side above the slanted pocket. I will be purchasing more soon. I wish there were more colors available.

The 44 waist is generous and tends to slip down. The 42 waist is on the small side and didn't fit at all. The garment is well stitched and the fabric appears to be very durable. Deep pockets are deep. I have a Samsung 5g phone which is pretty big and just fits in the phone pocket. Anything bigger will have to go in aa front pocket. Left front pocket with a flash light clipped to the opening a person with big hands couldn't get it in.nnAdd the plusses and minuses and I come up with 4 stars out of 5. These shorts will last a long time even used hard.

These shorts are great. Theyre very comfortable, have perfectly placed pockets for all my EDC gear. Usually 5.11 products are very high quality. One of the items in my order was damaged to the point that they would fail very soon. I contacted support. The rep was very kind and said she sent out a replacement. That was three weeks ago. My products took a full week to ship and another week to arrive. Overall a bit disappointed by the company, would rather purchase their products from a third party.

I've been a returning customer for about 4 years and I've yet to be disappointed with 5.11 products.nnwith that being said, these shorts are hands down the best feeling. I used to get the tactlite pro shorts but these shorts will be my new go to. ABR pro shorts are slightly more expensive than the tactlite pro shorts but only by a few dollars.

After wearing cargo shorts from regular department stores , I switched to ABR Pro shorts because its basically a shorts version of the ABR Pro pant which I wear quite often in cooler weather. It has the back pockets for a cell phone or other similar sized items. It has access small pockets on the front to store pens, keys etc. The fit is good for me and they have been holding up well after a year.

The shorts themselves are fine. I have found over the years that the fit around the thighs seems to vary even with shorts of the same marked size. Some catch on my thighs when I sit and others move freely. When I want to reorder a pair of shorts by model number I often cant get the exact same short, or I find that there may have been some changes made in the style. It gets frustrating.

I had previously purchased the shorts from 5.11. Either I placed the order incorrectly and bought the wrong shorts or you have changed the nature and quality of their manufacture. They are lighter weight, with a button closure vs the previous "snap" and so forth. Please don't misunderstand my comments, these are okay - just not what I thought I was purchasing and definitely not what I purchased previously.
