I use these pants for work. They have a bunch of extra pockets for tools, regular carry items, or leftover pieces. The regular front pockets are very roomy and sit lower on the leg which is less restrictive to movement. My work isn't particularly rough on pants so I can't say much about durability other than the old pairs I've had for years are holding up just fine.nI would definitely recommend these pants

Ive had every pair I have for 4-5 years and they all last long and still look great. Granted I am not a super active field but I wear them daily. I have not worn jeans since 2022 and basically only wear these. Still a fan, only back becasue they are on sale. All mine still are in good shape.

Over priced for what they are. The metal zipper wear through the pants which should tell you how cheap the product really is. Theres nothing remotely special about these that warrants the price tag. Get any other generic brand.

I have 5 pairs of these, and I wear them all the time and they last a lot longer than jeans. I did get one pair that wore out in less than a day though so I think that was a bad batch but I got a refund.

Look, the pants are really pretty great but one of the main fastening buttons is already coming off. Sure I can fix it but for a hundred dollar pair of pants just a few months old, I really shouldn't have to. I love 5.11 gear but please, you guys can do better than this.

Really happy with these. I hate the EMS cargos that we're issued at work (they're high quality and durable, but there's no stretch and they're hot as f*** in the summer), so I decided to buy these on sale. They're stretchy and breathable, and I like that the pockets are flush with the legs. Still plenty of real estate for gloves, stethoscope, or whatever you might want to keep on you on shift. The material is substantial, but I've only had them a few months so I can't speak to durability. Overall, very happy with them.

These are great fitting pants that wear well. BUT the dividers in the cargo pockets are a major PIA, everytime I reach into the pocket my fingers get caught in them. Leave em out!

I have a 35" - 36" inseam so I appreciate when companies make pants that are that long. The fit is great but I noticed the first time putting my foot throught the bottom of the pant leg that my toe got caught. "Huh... what's this?" I don't want to bother sending it back and waste time and money but you need to check a little closer on your quality control - unless this is a secret 'feature' I don't know about?

Do you like your range pants painted on like a second skin? Well then these are maybe a little too loose for you, but they will make your key fob and your cellphone print like a mother. Never mind your carry.nnOtherwise fit and construction seem good. just more of a tacti-kool cut than something meant to be comfortable. These are tapered and tight at the cuff so if you do not tuck you pants into your boots the cuffs will not sit over even medium duty boots.

I have owned several pairs of these for a couple of years now. They are my daily wear and they really are the best. They are comfortable, retain color well and the construction is top notch. I just received the two-tone green and they are the coolest pair of pants in my closet. I wanted to like these pants because they offer larger sizes. The stretch is good and the size is correct. Unfortunately they just don't have enough room in the seat, these pants always want to ride down. Additionally, the fabric is a little rough and uncomfortable, and the buttons on the fly wore out easily and needed to be re-sewn shortly after buying.

This is my 3rd pair of these pants and these recent ones feel like a larger size altogether. They are far looser and longer. I normally wear a 40x36. These new ones fit like a 42x38. I haven’t lost weight (or height) and the previously purchased pants fit perfectly.

It is hard to find pants when your in your later years that fit right over that newly acquired stomach bulge that arent too baggy below. These pants (Ridge and Flex) do the job with the elastic waist and look much . sharper than other brands cargo pants. Love the stream line pockets.nThe Flex pants look sharp enough to wear out to dinner or somewhere else semi formal and still have a hidden pocket for your cell phone.

Theyre tighter in the thigh so the pockets there dont offer much. They are comfortable overall and have a good amount of stretch in the waist. Theyre overpriced. 5. 11 tries to make it seem like its a deal to get 50% off the second pair, but these were $30 cheaper a year ago.

Everything about this pant is great, I have no complaints. I only have 2 requests:n1) Make these is Volcanic or Charcoal grey. I really like the Ridge pant - i wear them for work and they hold up pretty good. I like the fact they have zippered side cargo pockets versus the Velcro most other pants use. And the straight fit is a plus. The only con i have is the fade pretty quick - I wear the navy blue so maybe the other colors don't fade as quickly.

I like that these pants fit much better than the old school 5. 11 cargo pants BUT the quality isnt there. They look good for 6-12 months then seem to fall apart. I have 3 pairs in different colors. All 3 stain easily (and permanently!) and over time the material looks worn and ragged to the point that they become weekends-only pants, which is a shame. I suggest 5. 11 invest in a better fabric for these Ridge pants, and keep the design.

Ive worn 5. 11 pants for nearly 28 years in public service and have given away countless older pairs that, despite years of wear and tear, are still being used for yard work and hunting. They held up incredibly well
just too worn for professional use anymore.nUnfortunately, the latest pair of Ridge Cargo Pants I bought six months ago has been a major disappointment. Both buttons have fallen off twice, and even after reattaching them, the inner button pulled right through the fabric again. On top of that, they stain far too easily
something I never experienced with older pairs.nThe quality has clearly declined, and its frustrating given the price. Im now actively looking for other brands or similar styles at a better value. Honestly, my 3-year-old pairs look and perform better than this newer one, which says a lot.

I've owned 5. 11 pants years ago when I was in Bosnia as a civilian military contractor. They were excellent then and they still are the best for good rugid wear every day.

As a long time user of 5. 11 I had high hopes for these pants. I work in EMS and wanted to try something a little less baggy that standard EMS pants so bought these on sale for $75. They are comfortable and have a decent amount of stretch, but are not durable at all. After wearing them for 2 shifts, the right knee has multiple small holes and tears. Regardless of the price, I feel that is unacceptable for tactical pants especially with no hard use.
I should have stuck with traditional EMS pants or perhaps tried the ABR pro. I typically get 2-3 years out of a pair of EMS pants. I have never written a review before and was so disappointed in the quality of these that I decided to write one.

Just reviewing to say I ordered the wrong size of my favorite pair of pants , now I must go through the process of returning and exchanging. All because the location of Davie, Dania area of 5. 11 Florida closed and cannot do exchange at store, not worth to do doral area 5. 11 store be are it seems they are third party owners and they charge in the range of $30. 00 so not worth it if I can somehow figure out how to do this complicated method . also there is one in west Palm beach area and thats a whole 120mile radius from homestead

I have 2 pairs of these pants and I'm getting ready to order a 3rd pair. I really like everything about these paints but there is one issue. Both pairs showed up with the threads coming out on the inside waistband button. Both buttons came off at the end of the day of wearing each pair.

Great pants. I purchased these to work at the office and to also hike in them. Like always 5. 11 has delivered on pants that I will wear inside outside as well as when at the range. The pockets have the smaller knife pocket. The seems that get heavy use have more reinforced stitching that other pants.

My son went to a SLE at Westpoint and needed some hiking pants. I saw these and purchased for him. My kid never wears pants. When he came back I asked him how did his pants hold up. He said Mom, burn them, I landed on a smoke grenade and got them so dirty, youre just gonna have to throw them away. They were so bad. I sprayed some stain remover on them and tossed them in the wash. All the dirt, mud, soot and dye came out! They are LIKE NEW. Well worth the investment.

I am here to let you know the Ridge pants are AWESOME and I will continue to purchase pants from 5 11. My disappointment is in I ordered a backpack that showed on line that was in stock. I have had a couple of times of ordering items and have them cancelled on me. I normally don't complain but this has happen a couple of times in the last two years and it get old. Purchased a pair of Ridge pants in 2021. I have worn them working part time for 4 years and they still look great. they wear like iron. I just went full time so I purchased 2 more pairs. They are fantastic pants and I would recommend them to anyone. They fit snug, not too lose but not too tight. I am 5'11" and weigh 160 lbs. I wear a size 30x32 in these pants. I will continue to purchase these pants although I don't think they will wear out!

The fabric, style, weight, and durability are all excellent! My issue is with the workmanship. Every seam (and there are many of them)have long threads hanging from the front side of pants. This is a workmanship issue aI hope gets addressed. All 3 pairs have this issue. Therefore, I don't believe it's a one off situation.

Overall a nice pair of pants. Got them for work and they are comfortable and functional. The cargo pocket on the leg is a little difficult to access, particularly for a phone. They also run quite long, compared to other 32 inseam pants I own. I have to cuff them to wear them properly and they don't like to hold a cuff very well. I'll get a 30 inseam next time. My only other gripe is that I think these would do better with a 5-pocket/jeans style front pocket opening -- I don't like the way the opening puckers with the more slash/chino style pockets. Again, though, overall they're pretty good.

Runs a bit big. Zippers small/low quality and stick easily so if you access your pockets frequently can be mildly annoying. Same with the fly zipper. Good weight for all season/summer. Easy to move in and comfortable for an EMS pant. I have the Stryke pant in a 30 waist which is tight, the Apex in 32 which is loose, got these in 31 and they are no different than the Apex. Was hoping the legs would fit a little more slimly but honestly don't notice a difference.

Great pants, I find the fit tighter than the icon pants which I believe are supposed to have same cut. Waist fits great, just the quad/ hamstring area for me are tight, I am a avid gym guy so by no means have skinny legs. If you dont mind the tacticle look go icon, due to ripstop fabric, slightly more room in legs, better overal pockets. They are really nice!! pants with so many pockets. The only problem is that they rip so easily if you scratch them on something it doesn't even have to be hard it can be falling on concrete, or a thorn. I expected them to be very strong but they are not. They are very nice and cozy even to sleep in and SO MANY pockets, but they are not any good in a job, or in woods, or riding any kind of bike, because if you fall they rip really badly.

6'0" 205lbs semi athletic build from work. These run slightly large so I sized down. 36x32 down to 34x30 and they've become my favorite pair of work pants. I'm a landscaper, have the slim pockets keeps things tight to me when walking, bending, stooping. The material construction is ideal for all weather conditions and extremely comfortable. Fits perfectly around my boots. Not snug like slim fits but just perfect. I bought 4 more pairs. Thanks!

Like the material and feel. Was looking for a slimmer fit, but these were borderline skinny jeans for me. I ordered them online in the same size I wear in the Icon pant as I was unable to try them on in a store. Sizing up may have help in the legs but made the waist too big for me at least. Consider trying on in a store if possible. I ended up returning them and may try out the Meridian pant.

The original description for the Ridge pant stated they were tapered and the accompanying photos still show a slim, tapered fit. In reality they are anything but tapered. Past the knee the pant legs are the same diameter as the thigh area making them a very baggy fit.nnI bought two pairs of these when they were on sale a couple of months back. Since then they've removed any mention of "tapered" from the description so good on 5. 11 for that. I only wish I'd returned/exchanged them for a pair of Coalition pants during the return window. Those aren't tapered but they're also not baggy. Love those pants.

I had just bought my first pair of Ridge pants in khaki. I had gotten some breakfast bagels to go and decided to eat one while I was still in the parking space before I drove off. Right off the bat I spilled some hot sauce on my brand new pants. My hands were full and I figured the damage was already done, I decided I would clean it up after I finished eating. Once I finished eating, I grabbed a rag and wiped the hot sauce off of my pants. None of it had soaked in, you honestly couldnt tell there was ever anything there. I was impressed. So if youre the kind of guy that likes to eat in your car and are also messy. These might very well just be the perfect pair of pants for you. Highly recommend.

I have been buying 511 stuff for a few years now and my last few purchases have seen a real notable decrease in quality. Be it the stitching, the fabric, how well the clothes hold up, which is very disappointing; as I frequently wore their pants both on and off duty.

Pockets are perfect. Perfect in shape, placement and design. But the pants are not tough for this 260 pound big muscle legs and butt guy. Blew out the knee in 2 months and low rise with big glutes makes them scootch down a lot. I did participate in a Goruck event with them and they were great. But hot damn the pockets are perfect so for daily wear I love em.

Im around 206lbs and 59 and I got size 36x32 they fit great a little long but I purposely did that so when I crouch they dont pull up these fit awesome my new favorite pants by fare I could have probably went with 35x32 but I like a little room but they fit great slimmer profile but not real slim they dont look like skinny jeans and they fit over boots perfect if ur thinking about buying some do it they are incredible light breathable and nice amount of stretch and they look great

Durable, rugged, every day pant. Un-like some 511 pants, this pants fabric shows minimal fading through repeated washing. Belt loops are excellent for CCW. Excellent pockets, except for the front zippered leg pockets. They are problematic, hard to access because the pockets have a divided area which makes them difficult to use. Would be much better and more useful if they had just one pocket, no divider. Other con is that the stretch material is basically around the front side pockets and over time this material looses its elastic stretch. Overall, very good pants with some areas that need upgrading.

Ive been wearing the Apex pants forever. That being said, I cant figure out the difference between the Ridge pants and Apex pants other than the back belt loopamd the cut is a little better on the Ridge pants. Other than that theyre exactly the same. Both pants are bulletproof tough. I used the Apex for doing tree work and they would last for several years. If you know anything about tree work you know clothing gets chewed up faster than logs through a chipper but they last forever. That alone makes them worth the price. Plus they stay nice enough to wear out at night after a quick wash.

Pants fit and look great but the material is rather thin. The issue I am having is they stain VERY easily. I have worn Taclite Pros for years and they help up better stain-wise than these.

These are my favorite pants for work. Love how the low profile cargo pockets allow me to carry extra equipment, but don't stick out like saddle bags when I'm not using them. My only complaint is that the crotch area wears out really fast. If 511 can reinforce the area or use a stronger material/design in that area these pants would be perfection.

I love 5. 11 Pants, I own over 25 pairs. These Ridge pants are lightweight but run a little long compared to other 5. 11 Pants. I keep having serious issues though with staining though. I had somehow managed to have 3 stains show up on these pants within 15 min of wearing them!!! I had the same issues with the Icon pants as well. Very disappointing with this as Im going to have to donate a pair of $90 pants after wearing them 1 time. nFor reference I have 6 pairs of Coalition Pants Ive worn for over 5 years with no stains. It seems to be something with the material they use in the Icon & Ridge pants

The Ridge is the best fitting AND best looking full function cargo pant. I have at least one pair of every pant 5. 11 made and these tick all the boxes. I wear them exclusively for work (telecom/AV/alarm installer) and they allow a lot of storage without looking bulky. Durability is also top notch. I only wish they made them in the Volcanic color!

I am an ER physician and wear black Ridge pants with black scrub tops at work. They fit great and are my new favorite pants. They are a little stretchy and fit much better than traditional cargo pants but dont look like weird jogger bottoms (like medical scrub companies like Figgs). My wife commented they make my butt look great so I am buying a couple more in different colors. I love these pants.

I have a few pairs of the ridge and apex pants. The recent pair I ordered must have been manufactured differently compared to my previous pairs. I can ware a waist 28 and 30. On the 28s I just ordered, they fit fine in the waist. However, they do not fit in my leg and thigh area. I compared them with other ridge 28s I own. There is a significant difference. But no big deal. I will be visiting my local 5. 11 store and exchanging them.

These are by far the most comfortable pants Ive ever worn. I currently have a pair of each color, and a few duplicates, and really wish there were more colors, particularly a gray. I wear these almost every day in my work as a chemical engineer, and also wear them occasionally in my work as a volunteer firefighter. All pairs have held up incredibly well, and the khaki color is the only one with visible staining, which I expected to happen given the light color. nnThese are the perfect pants for those of us on the thinner side (6, 180 lbs. ). Fit is trim without being tight or constricting, and looks very sharp with a button down or polo shirt. I also own a couple pairs of the Apex pant (including a pair in Volcanic gray) and while I like them, they certainly have a more generous fit than I would prefer. nnPocket layout is very good. I really like the divider/mag pockets in the cargo pockets. They are useful for keeping oblong items from falling over in the pocket. I also really like that the cargo pockets zip, providing for a more secure closure. While they can be a bit difficult to zip at first due to the flap of fabric on top, its something that I got used to pretty quickly and only have occasional issues with now.nnWhile the price is a bit high, the value is definitely worth the cost, especially since 5. 11 frequently runs % off or bogo promotions throughout the year. If I can get 2 years out of a pair of pants in my line of work, Im pretty happy, and several of my Ridges are now well over a year old with minimal signs of wear. nnIn summary, my only complaint is the minimal selection of colors, particularly a gray/charcoal (similar to Volcanic in the Apex pant). A darker green shade, such as the Tundra available in the Apex pant would also be a solid addition.

It's started with 1 pair of pants and now I own 4 total. They breathe really well and almost feel like I'm wearing shorts. They way they are cut just fits really well. I'm a beefy 295lb guy and they aren't too loose or too tight on my calves. I'm not a fan of skinny leg jeans so these are perfect. I will order more and different colors too.

I got my first pair almost 3 years ago, and they fit perfect, and have lasted :+1: :ok_hand: nnBut since getting my first pair I've gotten several others, and they have all been the same style, color, and size , only thing, is that every other pair came and did not fit the same, they were all super baggy, or they did not line up evenly :( I've lost $270 on a product I was hoping would be the same, but we're different every other time, and am reluctant to buy again, but they are truly the most comfortable, and rugged pants I've had in the Army, and outside of the Army. Please please please remove the hidden cuff key pocket. All it does is act like a linebacker when Im getting dressed and grabs my left big toe every single time. Also the mag pockets in the cargo pocketscan those be gotten rid of as well? Cell is always snagging on these. Other than that, these are my uniform pants I chose for the job, 5 pairs, all khaki. The fit is fantastic and runs a little on the fitted feel just fyi. These are not for the out of shape officer. These are for the professional that wants to look squared away and have a pant that lasts.

I've worn the Stryke pant daily for the past 10 years and have worn the 28x30 for the entirety of those 10 years. I had assumed that I'd also wear a 28x30 in the Ridge pant, but had to return them for a 30x30.

By far, they are the best pants I have purchased from 5.11. The fit is amazing, and the material is light and breathable. You can wear these in the office, on hikes, working in the yard, or on a construction site. I bought three pairs and am definitely buying more.

If concealed carry was a pair of pants, this would be it. These pants are well-made and have a wealth of useful tactical features. However, they do this without looking such. You can easily pull these off casually or even semi-formal with a button-down. If you're in the market for a pair of pants that can pull a shift in a cop car AND match the polo or button-down you packed for getting a nice drink with colleagues after the shift, stop browsing. Trust me, these are the pants you're looking for.

I wear these pants every day while not at work or working as a volunteer firefighter in the Jeff Davis mountains. These pants are highly functional and durable. These are an excellent base for EDC and will accept a wide belt. The pockets and placement are perfect. These pants hold up to abrasion very well as I have worn them in wildland firefighting hiking up mountain sides full of cat claw and all thorn bushes without a tear or rip in the material. Pockets holding clipped edc tools such as knives, flashlights and multi tools have yet to fray at the seemed edges after 9 months of everyday use. These are my go to pants for the foreseeable future. Five out of five all day.

These are my least liked 5.11 pants. They dont move well, theyre heavy, stupid key thing where your foot goes through is worthless, and the pockets by the knees are too tight to hold anything I put in them. Dont waste money on this garbage.

I work for a Sheriffs Department and these pants have held up multiple times chasing people through the woods and fighting on the ground. I've had these pants for a year now and theyre still in good condition. Great for all four seasons as well as being very comfortable. I will never buy a different pair of work pants, these will forever be my go to.

I love these pants. However, they do run smaller around the waist. I typically fit in a size 34 waist in other style tactical and cargo pants from 511 but the Ridge Pants runs smaller around the waist. I'm planning on exchanging my order and ordering a size 36 waist instead. My suggestion, go one size up.

The ridge pant is my new favorite pant. I have 7 pair of the Apex pants and I love them great pants, but now I have 2 pair of Ridge pants and I don't want to wear my Apex anymore. The ridge pant is more versatile as far as ascetics from field to a nice restaurant. The Ridge fits anywhere you go. The Ridge pant Is everything the apex pants are except the waistband which is a great addition.

First things first, I want to get the only negative thing about this pant out of the way.....5.11, please for the love of GOD! Please make these in other colors. I would buy yet another pair of these if they came in Volcanic or Tundra. Stop making "new pants," and just give us the other colors in the products that never stay in stock. Ok, now onto what I like about these pants. I really wasn't sure what to make of the Ridge pant. Prior to this pant coming out, I really thought the Apex pants where the best pants hands down as far as fit & functional use for me. But I have to say, I liked that the Ridge has a bit of taper to its legs. I think it improves the look of the APEX pant....Because make no mistake, this is basically the APEX pant with a tapered fit in the legs. I also like that they got rid of the wide Y-yoke for the back belt loop. The V-shaped double belt loop looks better (IMO.)

These things are everything I wanted the Apex to be and so much more. The fabric is fit for four season, super durable, and incredibly comfortable. The cut is trim without being snug. The little details like the knee articulation and waistband design elevate the whole package, and the inset cargo pockets allow for maximum utility without coming across like I'm trying to look too tacticool. My only complaint is that I can't snag a pair of these in grey. 10/10 will buy again.

I tried the ABR Pro and it didn't fit me well, i think that pants is more for the fuller Dad Bod (no offense) or thicker Quads. I am on the medium size asian (like a Paquaio, lol), also if your close to a College kid or AnF model size these will fit you well. I ended up ordering an extra Five Pairs to my collection.

One of my favorite 5.11 tactical pants I have ever owned. I will be using my pair all year long for range days, training days and have worn them for my skydiving jumps. The low and deep side pockets help keep my valuables secure even when in free fall from 13,500 ft. I highly recommend and will be purchasing more in the future.

Best fit of my 511 pants. I do love the utility of my ABR pro pants for every day wear. The Ridge pants are sleeker more streamlined for a more stealth appearance . Quality fabric and good movement due to the mechanical stretch design. * The only improvement is to add a right hand small stealth front pocket like on the ABR pro pants. That type pocket holds my carbiner / paracord mounted work keys from jangling when I walk.

I like the way these pants fit . I'm 6.2 215 lbs I wear 38 -34 and these fit a little big in the waist but if I got the 36 it would have been a little tight. I hate tight pants so these are good. The material is nice not to light or to heavy. The quality you expect from 511 is evident. Pay more get more.

I've had the Ridge Pants for years. Purchased two of the current version. Fits as sized and holds up well. I do recommend over 5.11 model cargo type slacks. I favor these for the way the cargo side pockets are discrete when compared to other models. Feels great during the summer. I'm in law enforcement and use these for training and assignments.

Let me just say. It is so refreshing to buy pants straight from the shelf, and not have to pay extra for tailoring service. I am 6'2 and on the skinny/ lean side. Finding pants in a 28x34 are impossible. but ill be. these pants fit perfectly on my build. not tight like skinny jeans and not baggy like BDU pants. I have to buy one is every color now.

Me and my employees have been wearing 5.11 Apex Pants for a few years for work with no failures and no complaints. I decided to try a couple pairs of the Ridge Pant. They are identical to the Apex except the have a slimmer leg. I love them! Perfect fit. One thing we really like about either of these is the stretchyness of the waist. During the winter, I add layers, up to 3 top layers and two bottom layers all tucked in and the pants stretch easily to accommodate. Also, It's nearly impossible to snag, tear, or wear out in general. They are absolutely worth the investment!

I ordered a pair of these pants and was impressed with the quality so much I got 4 more pair and wear these everyday. nnThe pockets are strong and deep with a good cut for knives or flashlights to clip, the side zip pockets are well made and sleek, the zipper could be stronger but for their use and placement they shouldn't be under stress so that's fine. The side pockets even have a band inside to hold a water bottle or something similar so it stays in place while running or climbing.nnThe cuff key pocket at the bottom left leg is a nice touch.nnI absolutely love the double back pocket for anything from an rifle mag or pistol or just a can of dip and your phone. nnThe slightly stretchy material near the pockets runs up to the belt line and provides a nice snug fit when either stuffed from meal or sinched tight with a war belt.nnThe belt loops are great and are well stitched, providing great support for my inner belt with enough area for the Velcro to attach to the outer belt.nnAll in all, a great buy for someone looking for hiking, EDC or duty work. nnFor background I'm prior active duty army currently NG and force protection / armorer for my unit, been on meny hikes and rucks with these on and they have never failed.nnNote: when doing activity in these I've noticed sweat mainly around the knees (no knee pads) but nothing too crazy, hydrate!

Previously, I purchased 3 pairs of Icon pants, which I love. This was my first purchase of the Ridge pant. The Ridge is a slimmer cut, and I found that my waist size was an inch less, compared to the Icon. I like the cut and look, and the pants are very comfortable. The Ridge pant has zippered main pockets as opposed to the Icon's flap closures. The zippers don't glide easily, so the opening and closing of these pockets is a two-handed operation. Because of the slimmer nature, the Ridge pant doesn't carry as much gear and various EDC as the Icon. However, there are four rear pockets on the Ridge, as opposed to two, and I found these extra pockets handy. Overall, the Ridge has a flattering cut, and is very comfortable. The material breathes well and stays cooler during outdoor activities. It's a great alternative to my other tactical pants, for the right use.

all my jeans don't last due to my job being a welder/fabricator. I always ripped my crotch and just nothing seemed to last more than 2 weeks. I visited a 5.11 store with a gentleman there and asked me hey bub what brings you in and I told him trying to find something that will last with my work and after talking he recommended these. This is probably the best item of clothing I've purchased in years. I wear them exclusively for work, in a shipyard, so they're getting put to the test on a daily basis. My requirements were durability, comfort (breathability/stretch), and cargo capacity, pretty much in that order. The Ridge pant has exceeded all expectations. It's hard to think of anything I don't like. I can fit two 12oz water bottles in a single leg pocket with room to spare, but when the pocket is empty it "disappears" like magic. I wear hard-shell knee pads 10 hours a day and the material never bunches up in back or digs into my skin, which... for anybody who's dealt with that before, you know how irritating it can be. All day long, I'm up, I'm down, climbing ladders, kneeling in the dirt, these pants stretch so well that you don't even feel it happening. I have not once, in several hundred hours of use, found a "limit" to the stretch nor have I ever felt uncomfortably constricted. The pants are breathable, weigh about as much as a pair of gym shorts, and after weeks of daily wear and wash, they still look absolutely brand new. The cherry on top is the slim fitted silhouette that neither looks nor feels like you're wearing cargo pants. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs a professional-looking work pant for a physical job like landscaping, tree service, plumbing, electrical, flooring, etc.

5.11 Ridge pants are the only pants I wear, period. Before discovering them, I wore Mountain Hardwear's AP Pant, exclusively, for close to 10 years. I wasn't happy with the colors offered--no black, for example--or the way they would fade and stretch out after just a couple of washes, but they were the only pants I could find that fit me decently. Since discovering 5.11 Tactical and the Ridge Pant, I have never looked back. The richness of the colors topped off with a mild sheen, the slight elasticity of the fabric, and the fit make them look fantastic. And, unlike the AP Pant, the Ridge Pant retains its look and fit wash after wash. I tried a few pairs of Viktos pants as well, but while they are quality pants, the look and fit just don't compare to that of the Ridge Pant, at least not on my frame. If 5.11 Tactical were ever to discontinue the Ridge Pant, I would be tremendously disappointed because no other pants come close in any regard.nnIf I can offer one suggestion to 5.11, it would be to please consider adding a zipper to at least one of the rear pockets just so that you don't have to worry about your cash fall out--if, like me, you carry it in your back pocket--while you drive. nnI love these pants!!

2nd pair purchased for my husband who absolutely loves this style (I love the way they conform to his glutes). As retired Air Force he loves not only the number of pockets but also the "placement". Fabric is durable yet breathable. As the resident laundry-fairy, I appreciate how well they clean up after a camping trip or a day working on his bike. Great fit and comfort. I opted for these over the Taclite Ripstop. The Taclite ripstop's were too baggy on me. The rear magazine pockets allow a 30rnd magazine to protrude better, about half way out. In the taclite they completely disappear in the pocket. These work great in hot weather as well.

Super comfortable every day pant. It has enough pockets to be "tactical" while avoiding the "cargo/tactical " look. Stretch fabric allows for good movement with a slim profile. Great for aiwb carry. Would love to see some other colors.nMy only complaint (not a biggy) is a dedicated pocket for an EDC flashlight. The zip cargo pockets have good dividers but none of them orient the light well. The double back pockets allow the light to periscope, fall out, and about forget sitting down if it's back there.nThe front slash pockets are good but their location requires removal of the light if you kneeling or stepping up (ladder or climbing)nI do really think the pant is great and it deserves 5 stars, but if you carry an EDC light you might find issues.

A settle-for for model 74438, whatever they were called!nFour worthless rear pockets- shallow, on top of each other, no way to even semi-secure contents! Front hip pockets are also too shallow. Contents easily slip out when seated on a cushy seat, even a patrol car seat! Model 74438 had net pockets, which some complained about. I owned more than 12 pairs over the years, and only had to repair one pocket(myself btw). Zippered rear pockets were a definite plus!

I responded to a stabbing on my shift wearing a new pair of these. The Teflon coating prevented the majority of the victims blood from penetrating the fabric of my pants and contacting my skin. This coating also made for an easy clean up with cold water without having to use hydrogen peroxide. From having contact with somebody completely soaked in pooling blood, I would have typically had to throw my pants away. But not these bad boys, they were made for it.

I absolutely love my 5.11 Ridge Tactical Pants. I bought a pair of Ridge pants in black at the 5.11 store, and I liked wearing them so much that I bought a second pair in Ranger Green. I bought 32x32 size, and I hemmed the pants one inch in length and now they are absolutely perfect. The material is comfortable, breathable and durable. I bought the pants to wear when I am kicking at martial arts events, and for everyday wear that includes hiking. I like that the pants are not baggy, and can be worn with a casual dress shirt. I would have no problem wearing these at Church.

Love these pants. I have a bit of a butt so often pants are loose in the waist but tight in the hips and crotch. These fit great and have plenty of stretch for movement. These pants have deep front pockets to accommodate the biggest phones. I have the Galaxy s23 Ultra and in a lot of pants the phone will stick out. Not these! Or you can use the cargo pockets. That is the other thing. There are cargo pockets but without the big pocket flaps which look kind of dorky if you aren't working construction or a soldier or cop. Better than anything i have found a REI or other stores. Kind of expensive but worth it.

Love the style of the pants and the stretch that they have. The back pockets are just deep enough to hold an iPhone 13 with a case on it. Cargo pockets hold a small notebook no problem. Only consideration would be if you have muscular legs, at all, i would consider going a size or two larger in the waste. They are definitely a snug fit on your thighs. I ordered my normal waist size and probably couldve gone one or two sizes up.

Overall fit, and comfort is perfect. My favorite pair of pants. The only reason I give a 3 star is this is my second pair, the first pair I had lasted 3 days because I was smoking a cigarette and the cherry fell off on my crotch and burned a hole. So these pants don't do well against things like cigarette burns. So more than likely aren't well for partial fire safe. Would help if they were at 90$ a pair. Just from personal experience.

They are great pants. They fit really great and definitely a new addition and improved style. They are fitted by the leg area and will definitely consider buying another pair if the right special comes along. Price is to almost $100.

My absolute favorite pants. My only complaint are the buttons. You may as well take the pants to a Taylor and have them reapplied befor you lose them. They are goung to fall off sooner than later. Other than that they are great pants.

The quality and durability of these pants are great. They are light and not baggy which is perfect during hot, humid, Florida days. These are my daily work pants for law enforcement. My only complaint is the second retaining button for both pairs were poorly sewn on. The first pair fell off after a week of use and the second about four weeks of use.

I purchased 2 pair of these pants, separately I wanted to try one then get a second if they were good I bought a second. However the length of the 33x32 was a bit short(I normally buy 33x32) I bought the 33x34s and the fit was far better. Oh, they were very comfortable. But I wouldnt use these pants in a 911 EMS setting as the pockets in the thighs are just that, inside the pants. I happen to like them this way but functionally I cant put as much gear into them. But a good part of pants no the less.

Very good cargo pants. Very comfortable and love the fabric. Like that the cargo pockets don't bulge out. Really nice looking for a cargo pant. Not sold on the zippered cargo pocket closures though. Really hard to access with one hand. Snaps are easier. Also, really wish they included a slim pocket for folding knives. This one really bugs me the most. So, the search for the perfect pant continues. These are pretty close though.

In the past I bought some Apex and Stryke pants online (never doing that again) based on reviews and I hated them so I ended going back to my Wrangler pants. I love my Wrangler pants but they dont last long and aren't the best quality so I need to replace them. Pictures for Apex and Stryke looked great and reviews were good too. But this time I made the decision to go into a 5.11 store and actually try on the pants. Tried on the Apex and Stryke and still hated them. I saw the Ridge pants at the corner of my eye and brushed it off because it didn't appeal as much to me compared to Apex and Stryke. As soon as I tried it on I instantly fell in love with it. So if you guys can, go try on the pants in person it totally changes your perspective. Had I bought these online I would have never did. Let's face it, most of us here are guys so they are the perfect thickness so my friend down stairs can breathe and not be so sweaty. Stretchable so I can maneuver around easily. Rugged that they won't rip easy too. All I gotta say is Ridge all the way! I bought x3 black ones to try out and so far after a few months I still totally dig them. Next time I go back into the store I'll pick up some different colors forsure.

Best looking cargo pants Ive found. My pocket holster fits perfectly in the right front pocket and doesnt print. Plenty of pockets for my stuff. I liked these so much I bought them twice. One in kangaroo and another pair in ranger green. They are a nice weight and dry relatively quickly in the Southwest Asia climate. I will say these run a bit small although the stretch waist band will accommodate for that extra six pack you drank on Saturday. I'd recommending going up a size of you plan to carry anything other than your gut in the waist band.

You can go Larp crazy in them or just wear them out to the mall. Either way they're perfect. Super light but durable material and more pockets than any one human can use. I cought the kangaroo (?) And the green. Great colors. Thinking about doubling up just in case they take them out if the lineup like they did with the world's best 511 pants. Urban flex slims. Poor some out for the dead pants homies. Seriously though. Get some, they're not expensive and totally worth it. And they dry super fast so if you get wet with water or swamp butt... It dries super fast.

I bought the ridge pant to wear for police work. Pants are light and durable and fit well. I wish they came with a button snap instead of the hook and loop style fastener. The ridge pant is a very snug fit which may not be desired by all. As mentioned before, I wear the pants for work and they appear to be more professional than a bdu style pant and offer as much pocket space as the Stryke pant. I would recommend if you prefer a slim fit pant. Overall, I plan to purchase more if the color doesnt fade as quickly as other style pants.

I dont have a ton of experience with the 5.11 brand, but compared to my Apex pants, these really impress me. Not that the Apex are bad - far from it - but like most tactical style pants, they are too baggy for me and also boldly advertise their martial nature. The Ridge takes the traditional tactical pant and modernizes it to suit contemporary tastes, slimming it out, trimming the excess bagginess, all while obscuring the cargo capacity and pocket sizes to keep the appearance cleaner. This is actually the first tactical pant Ive encountered that I wouldnt hesitate to wear casually, as opposed to treating it as a dedicated work pair.

Great fit!! Tactical pants nowadays are typically on the baggier side for mobility. The Ridge pants arent slim fit but theyre definitely more slim than the Stryke or tac pants. Having said that, I can bust these bad boys out on a search warrant or with some everyday threads. And they are lightweight but durable so they dry quickly! Nice to see that 5.11 is making a pant with a more modern cut. I would love to see more colors! Total package pants that take care of the package

Originally was looking for a pair of pants to hike in, but something that looks good. Not the biggest fan of the regular hiking look, you know what I mean? So I turned to the tactical side of the outdoor world. nThese pants are a slim fit kinda feel around the thighs and glutes, which I was looking for. But the knees on down seem a little too loose. Wish they were slightly more tappered.nAll the pockets are great, but I feel that the cargo zipper pockets were more on the side of your legs. They don't open up wide enough for me to easily put my hand in there. Wish the pocket openings stretch more easier. nThese pants have a smooth and soft feel to them. They are fairly breathable. But I'd be even happier with them if they were more stretchy and breathable. nMy biggest complaint would be the waist. It doesn't have that much stretch to them. You might need to go one size up from what you'd normally wear. That's just my opinion.nOverall though, I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase.

I love these pants, theyre easily one of my favorite pairs. Within a week of receiving them I wore them for about 3 days in Joshua Tree National Park camping, hiking, and climbing. First I am 5'7" and 230 #'s. stocky and I work out 5 days per week, 35" waist and 30" inseam. These ridge pants have the same feel as the Apex pants but they aren't as baggy, dont get me wrong these are NOT slim fit but rather more of a straight leg. These still work with boots but I would imagine you could wear them with shoes if you wanted. I think they look a lot better than the apex because they are not so baggy in the legs. These are going to be my new go to pants. Just wish they had more colors, which seems to be a common gripe with 511 when they make something that people like.

Great looking pant, but 5.11 appears to have changed its cut. Have several pants in 34/32 (all still fit) but same size in these were small. Otherwise, once fit gets fixed, the design and look of the pants are spot on.

A great combination of tactical usefulness (appreciate the SERE options) and hiking pants look (hence can wear without looking tactical). Material is fantastic with all its feature (stretch especially). Fit is great on all levels. Really starting to trust this from 5.11. Only had them through a couple of washes and no shinkage. Like the cuff diameter too (wouldn't want them any wider).

The pockets are grate I do a lot of hog hunting and with all the extra pockets low profile of them nothing snags walking around no pocket is to bulky from being over filled they are strong enough to feel soft while wearing them but strong enough to walk through the brush and not get snags on them

Probably the best pants I've ever owned. Been looking for a good trekking / hiking pant. You can't beat these. I had ordered some expensive FJallraven pants because I had heard they were some of the best. I was dissapointed by the fit and bagginess of the legs.nnThen I saw these and decided to try them out and I'm glad I did. I have bigger quads so it can be hard to find a pair of pants that fits over my upper legs but also isn't baggy on lower legs. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these were comfortably snug on my waist, fit my quads just fine and not baggy on my lower legs.nnI'm 38 in the waist and usually wear 32 in length but I wanted the pants to cover my boots even when my legs are bent or when I'm squatting. So I ordered the 38/34s and they fit the bill perfectly. nnNot to mention the stretch in the waist keeps these pants comfortable all day, whether sitting for extended periods or moving while working.nnOnly thing I regret is that I didn't buy 2 pair.

Great for EMS use!! Id been wearing the Taclite Pros all this time, until switching to the Ridge pants in September. They fit SO much better, you can actually move in them, theyre so much lighter and breathable, and have so far retained their water resistance much longer than any others. I was worried they might easily snag onto something and rip the material when I first got them, but after trampling through barbed wire while working a wreck scene one night, they came out unscathed. Thats been the biggest test of durability Ive put them through so far, but Ill definitely be getting more of these in the future. nAs far as improvements, I can really only think of 3 minor ones. nFirst, I think both of the buttons on the waistband could be made with the heavier loop. So far no buttons have fallen off, but I can see it happening after a while. nSecond, the actual waistband and belt loop section could be made just a little bit thicker, and add the elastic liner ring to help keep shorts tucked. nAnd final thing I can say is to add a couple of pen pockets inside and/or outside of the cargo pockets!

The BEST 5.11 pants by a long stretch. Perfect in literally every way, enough pockets to make anyone happy, and the functionality of them make these pants my absolute favorite that 5.11 has done. The fit is just spectacular and there is no extra material bunching up anywhere. They definitely are not water resistant. I just returned from fishing in a rainy Sitka Alaska, and I was surprised that the Teflon material didnt hold up better. I did not wear them as waterproof, merely, walking around the streets during a constant drizzle.

Bought these for work, range, all around play, I do have a recommendation for the next gen. Move the mag pockets on the hips over where they are on the defender jeans. The mag holds tighter on the hips and doesnt print as much where it does currently. Other than that, these pants are worth it. I have abused them pretty good and theyve held up for the most part other than a small tear by the cargo pocket. Will be buying more in the future!

I have been a denim guy since I was 12 years old, and since I was in the denim industry, I always made my jeans even when I worked for the most premium denim companies. Last month I visited the 5.11 store looking for cargo pants for my next hunt, I decided to look around the shelves, and the young gentleman on the floor was accommodating in explaining the various fits. Was in a local 511 store and a sells rep pointed out the ridge pant , a slim version of the apex, the ridge pant is just as comfortable as the apex . The only difference in the apex offers a lil more room and the pockets are a lil deeper also but overall I love both.

I have a few pairs of Apex pants which I like but as many others have said they are too baggy overall. The Ridge however are pretty much the same pant only with a more fitted cut. I wouldnt even call it a slim cut . Theyre somewhere in between baggy and slim but are still functional, comfortable and stylish.nPLEASE make a grey (storm) version!

Fit in the waist and hips are a bit tight - I ordered the same size in the Icons and these are tighter and yet both are classified as slim-fit. The front zipper pull and opening could be larger. nnI am 150 lbs, 58 with 30-31 inseam. nOrdered 31x32 but next time I would try 32x32.

These pants are the perfect blend of utilitarian and comfortablity (I know that's not a real word). They have more than enough pockets, and they're sleek enough to avoid getting in the way or snagged on things. They fit well and they flex to allow for a broad range of movement so you do not have to worry about splitting seams. These aren't tight in the crotch/thighs like some other 5.11 pants I have worn. They stand up to medium duty very well (I wear these to work as a firearms instructor at a high volume gun range). As for heavy duty work/combat, I cannot attest as I have not put them through anything that rugged just yet. To top it off they are subtle enough to wear in most public environments without drawing too much attention. Overall, probably some of the best pants 5.11 has made yet.

I just about gave up on 511 and switched to Vertx but they finally listened to the people. I have worn the Apex, Stryke and Fast-Tac Urban pants and every single pair are extremely baggy. Im 63 / 250 lbs and Im not a small guy yet they were all way too baggy. The Ridge pants arent a skinny fit but theyre not parachute pants either like the others. What I love about these other than the fit is that theyre still lightweight enough to wear in the dead of summer and the pockets dont scream tacticool unlike some of the other choices. I think they took the grey man approach on these pants. 511 finally redeemed themselves.

As a woman I look for comfort and perfect fit when it comes to clothing. I chose mens pants over the womens because they had the perfect fit and flexibility I needed in all the right places. I first want to disclose that I am wearing these pants as I write this review.Moving on, these are, hands down, my favorite pants. I live every single aspect about them. As an owner of both the Capital and the Apex, the Ridge is a perfect combination of the best of both products. The Apex style cargo pockets are easily accessible and discreet. The pocket cuts are also easy to get in and out of. The mag pockets are perfectly positioned and accommodate cell phones and magazines alike. The overall fit is excellent, being neither too baggy, nor too trim. Room to move with no excess. All-in-all, excellent product. I would readily replace every other pair of trousers in my wardrobe with these.

The Ridge Pant fits the way a good pair of Levis 501 does. Not very Slim but it is a lot slimmer than some of the other 5.11 pants do. I was looking for a nice functional pant to wear out that didnt scream tactical. I found them. Theyre streamline with low profile pockets that I love. You will not be disappointed with these pants at all.

Great pants, true to size, back pockets are great with double layers for phone and wallet. Pockets on side are great with different layers to customize and be comfortable while moving. These are great work pants, will buy more.
