I ordered the item at a great sale price. However, before it was shipped, I received a notification from 5.11 that the item was out of stock. They refunded my purchase and gave me a free shipping coupon for a future order. Disappointed that I missed out on the item. Grateful for the clear communication and 5.11 offering me something for my inconvenience.
I LOVE THIS BACKPACK! WELL CREATED, WITH THE OLATE CARRIER FRONT SHOULDER STRAPS THAT ALONE MADE THIS BACKPACK KICKASS AND THR VENTILATION MESH PADS IN THE BACK AND ON THE SHOLDER STAPS WAS A GAME CHANGER, I LIVE THE STRAPS TOO LIGHTWEIGHT AND JUST A BADASS BACKPACK ALMOST LIKE A NEW PLATE CARRIER OR VEST WELL JOB 511!
This pack is best suited to smaller people and should not be considered if your chest is over 44" or you are tall. The pack will sit maybe half way down your back, even with the shoulder straps at max lenght.nWhile it is adjustable by a few inches its not enough to allow the pack to ride comfortably or normally. The front wings dont seem to accomidate well either.
This is my goto pack for a day in the woods. The ventilated straps and front vest make this pack both cool and well organized. Comfortable to carry and well built, I liked it so much that I brought another to carry in my vehicle as my get home bag.
Lightweight but durable. I like to dayhike @6-8 miles which does not require extra apparel and minimal food so this is an excellent model. The versatility of adding a water bladder or choosing to place 2 bottles of water on shoulder straps means water is easily accessible based on preference. It's low profile reduces heat on the back minimizing sweat. Hands down, the best daypack i have ever chosen.
It fits. I does not bounce. Hydration bladder change out is easy. Adequate storage for a 12 or so hour event. This is my favorite running pack ever.
I would expect a heavier material on the bag. Especially if it is in BDU pattern. Overall I like the bag otherwise. I like how the mesh pockets on the side is higher than the bag I’m using right now.
I am a hiker that believes in minimalism , practicality and quality. After returning my most recent purchase, an Osprey pack, I decided to try this one. It is AWESOME. Lots of save and pockets and extremely light and well made. Strongly recommend it. Thank you!
If you can get this bag on sale under $100, it’s a great value. It’s great for some decent short hikes in the mountains and trail runs. It fits snug and secure on your chest and back without it jiggling and bouncing around like a traditional backpack. The negative things are that the clips are tiny and will be impossible to unclip with gloves on. You might be able to take them off and swap them out with a universal one i suppose. And the shoulder straps aren’t easily adjustable to adjust height.
This has been by far my favorite pack for riding dirt bikes. I can carry my 2L bladder, a trauma kit, tools for my bike, hand saw, and snacke with room leftover to stuff my rain jacket. I have had other backs that stick out too far and I can feel them flop around and tug on my shoulders, but the weight on this one is low and close to your body and the straps are wide, even in fast paced whoops in the high desert I forget that I'm wearing it. I like that it has lots of up front shoulder pockets so I can grab my Garmin Inreach or a snack without having to take my pack off. I've owned it for 3 years now, tumbled down hills, snagged it on branches covered it and mud and ran it through the washer dozens of times, and it has stayed in one piece. Couple scuffs and tears but not quite ready for retirement. I look forward to buying a blue one when my green one eventually dies. Great backpack. Would recommend. I will be getting another one.
Great pack, very durable and lots of storage options. I wear it trail running and hardly notice it no matter what Im carrying. If I could change 1 thing it would be the tiny, tiny clips on the chest straps. They are very difficult, especially with gloves on.
Great pack for a full day or even overnight in warm weather. Bought this as a larger complement to the Cloudstryke 10L. Some of the work/travel I do in remote parts of Arizona often require the capability to carry more water, an extra layer, extra food, and a bivvy bag. The additional 8L gives enough space to carry the necessary gear.
I've used this backpack for trail running and it's held up for over a 1000 miles of running, and nothing broken. It's got plenty of room for extra items for 100 mile trail races. The pockets in the front are a necessity for any trail running backpack.
The backpack is fantastic. It is lightweight made with durable materials, it has a lot of space and the MOLLE attachements cuts part makes it even better as I'm allowed to attach other MOLLE items. It is far superior unlike the other competitors from large Brands like REI and dicks who charge more for pretty much less.
This pack got it's 5th Star in the end behind its feather light weight & versatility. nBought this at the local 5.11 during the Pres Day Sale.nThe Company doesn't give Us many options on lower volume , small backpacks, so at 18L , I didn't hesitate. nNot a fan of the recent SkyWeight series, nBut I decided to give it's Cousin series a try. I was amazed at how much I was able to pack in this little pack. I currently have a Polo jacket , Sweater , Polo , & T Shirt.nAlong with a pair of 5.11 Stryke pants , plus 1pr Undies, socks, T. nYeah, really. The material expands as need be, not exaggerated. Fully loaded ,I can feel the gear but it's as if it's not there compared to same items on anRush 12 or Daily Deploy 24.nThe Vest - Straps are a pretty neat concept. They snug around U'r Pecs keeping the pack tight against Ur back.nI have 2 28oz Aluminum Path water bottles on the breast pockets & they don't impede Me from functioning. nI've currently paired it with it's brother, The CloudStrike 10L.nThe 10L to My Chest & The 18L on My back. On a few hours long urban excursions The 2 packs have done great.nSage Green, both of them.nThe only thing I did not like was the opening. Quarter clamshell, but If U manage U'r space correct U could get used to it. It's weight small profile are perfect. I played around with it before I designated it a weekend trip backpack to My Relatives. I really was amazed at how much stuff U can put in it.

Bought for the Hubster. So far so good and he tends to be particular.
