Very satisfied. The jeans are comfortable, and fit well. Just wish they had more pockets(But then they're jeans, and not tactical pants,:male_sign:)
These jeans are comfortable and fit well. The only problem is that they're nearly skin tight all the way down the legs. I am unable to pull up the pant legs to put on my socks. They're kind of like long capris.
Great fit, love the pockets, but durability is questionable. I have three pairs i bought and two of the pants ripped in the same spot in the crotch area within a year. I thought it was my fault, but seems to be a complaint many have.
This is my 5th pair of 5. 11 defender flex slim jeans. All the same size. For some reason this pair is cut very differently. They are looser/baggier than my regular cut defender flex jeans. They are well made and comfortable, just not the slimmer cut Im used to.
I came here looking for a plate carrier and left with the greatest Jeans Ive ever owned Im fat and the flex in these things complements my obesity I have 8-10 pair in a variety of colors the non denim ones are more dressy and thin than the denim ones. I do concrete road work and am very hard on pants but the ones I wore for work lasted 3 years and went through hell love the mag pockets for pliers or markers/pencils or even wallet absolutely love these fucking things
Magazine pocket in back is awesome. Pants fit very good the fabric/material stretches just enough where it needs to. I would like to see 5.11 get orders shipped faster.
Defender-Flex slim jean. Pros, cons, improvements, and expectations.

Tall and skinny dude @ 6' x 165 lbs. nnThe 32x32" jeans fit well. Not ultra-skinny skin-tight, and not straight-leg baggy. The leg is long enough not to ride up too far when I sit down and cross my leg. The leg cuff plays well with a taller military boot (ala AR 670-1), but seems a little tight and bunches up above the shoe when rocking something with a thicker support like a Keen mid. Low shoes don't seem to create any issues.nnThe material has a nice stretch and soft finish to it. It's great if you're active and move around a lot. Very comfortable. As far as cons, it ends up making the jean less durable in the long run. For me that means that the back wallet pocket starts to wear out in only a few months. I take it to a tailor to add a Cordura backing on the inside of the pocket and that does the job. There's also a hole that develops in the crotch right by the seam after around 6 months of constant wear. That stuff is easy enough to get stitched up or reinforced. Be fair about this situation--it's to be expected with this kind of material. You can get something tough-as-nails and be uncomfortable or unsatisfied with the fit/finish, or you can choose fit/finish and sacrifice a little durability. There's no perfect jean unless you're spending 5x the price on a custom job. If you're involved in tradecraft then you know you have to customize everything anyway. nnBelt loops are wide enough for a CC belt. Sizing for my body allows for an AIWB or other things. nnThe rear mag pockets are what sells the jean to me. It's either buy these or have other brands edited to add them in. Perfect for my phone, an extra mag, a small radio, or some other kit. Front pockets have some nice reinforcement on the inside for a knife; I'd like to see that go over the top at least a little to help protect the fabric from the constant wear caused by the knife clip.nnOverall, a great offering from 5.11. Their slim-fit style pants work well with my body type and I'd like to see more. I'd love to see this type of jean in a black, selvedge/raw, unfaded/textured denim; something a little more durable and stylish with the same cut. I'd pay $30 more for that, which feels like a fair price for the same pattern and increased material quality/cost.
I have several pairs of the slim fit and also several pairs of the straight fit. They both have a purpose depending on the activities of the day. True to size and well built.
Andres C.,
