Sizing is inconsistent. I have 2 pairs of these pants in a 34x32. They tend to shrink over time so when it came time to buy a third pair, I went with a 34x34. The waist much larger despite only changing the length. For $90-$100 pants, you’d think 5.11 would nail sizing down.

These are great fitting and wearing pants with a good fit, BUT. The dividers in the cargo pockets are a major PIA..Everytime I reach into the cargo pockets my fingers/hand get caught in them. Leave em out and it would be an excellent pant!

I had previously worn the same size of these pants for several years, they were straight fit and not baggy. Ordered a new pair, same size, and even have lost a little weight since my last order. The same size pants are like tight/skinny jeans. Will need to order an alternate size.

I have worn many different 5.11 pants. I was expecting the legs to be tighter but the waist fits way tighter than others. For example I wear a 30 in the stryke pants and they fit great, so I ordered a 31 in the icons for CC purposes and they are way tighter and CC is not an option.

I ordered a pair of these in April 2025 and they fit amazing, not too baggy or too tight. The stretch fabric, fit, weight, features, and look are amazing. I ordered another pair (same size and color) in April 2026 and they are like skinny jeans and I could barely button. Luckily, 511 has a good exchange policy. I exchanged and am waiting for the new pair in a size bigger. Hopefully they work. Please fix this sizing issue as I want these as my new uniform pant.

I’ve repurchased a pair of the Men's Straight Fit Icon Cargo Pant (Dark Navy) every year. Color loss improvement request out of the way first; I wash them in cold and dry them on low about twice a week and lose original color within a few months. Improvement in this area would be appreciated.They’re aways reliable; I’ve never had a rip, tear, or stitching issue. Sizing consistent. Pockets designed with mission readiness in mind with reliable “tool” access. 100% on style, comfort and function.

I use these pants for working outdoors, and it's been working perfectly. It stays dry and cool, nice and mobile, and very functional will all of the pockets. It feels very durable yet light, and it is great a repelling water splashes. They also just look great.

The Icon pants no longer have re-enforced knees, nor do they have the same elastic waist band. Instead the pockets are a stretch material.nLast pair lasted 3 years. We’ll see how these do…

I wanted a better fitting pair of pants for a new position in my agency. These pants in dark navy are perfect. I've worn them a week on patrol to test them out some before I move. They fit well in a 38x34 for me being 6'4" and 275 lbs. I have big calves and don’t have any issue with the bottoms being tight. I have worn three different 8" boots and no issues pulling the pant legs down over them. They seem durable so far, with ample pockets for storage. They flex well with movement too. My one gripe would be needing a longer zipper, but its manageable for using the bathroom at the urinal. I'm glad I got three pairs on a sale and would recommend these for anyone able to wear this style of pants.

I bought my husband the same size as he has in this same pant and it is completely different sizing. Not sure if there is a new manufacturer or structure on sizing, but he couldn’t even button them when the pair he has fits as they should. He bought the pair he has less than a year ago. Unfortunately will have to return/exchange these.

Great pants, but I bought 3 in the same size and color. I can only wear one of them, the other two being too tight on the crotch and legs. One of the two is tighter than the other as well, so I essentially got 3 differently sized pants all sold as the same. nnI also had to size up the waist from 30 to 32 from the Stryke pants for anyone using those as reference.

I love 5.11 gear but they don't cater to the bigger builds of us lumberjack types. I wear a 44" waist by 36" leg and it's tuff to find gear that fits. I keep looking because occasionally I get lucky and like I say I love 5.11. If 5.11 would make larger sizes they wouldn't be able to keep them on the racks.

Expensive and fade extremely fast with the proper wash instructions. They won't warranty them. Get dirty quick. Pockets are hard to get to when wearing your duty belt. I've purchased 10 pairs within a year. Normal wear 8-hr shift.

Average/athletic build: 63-215. Tried this style after 10+ years wearing REGULAR FIT TACLITE PRO. Unfortunately, they didnt fit my body type. Calf/quad was snug and the gusset was too tight.

These are the perfect cargo pant for pros and people who just love an excellent cargo pant. Lots of stretch in all the right places. Excellent front zipper length to make peeing something other than a chore. Guys, you know what I mean! They are neat and professional looking, not baggy and you wont feel like youre swimming in them. Plenty of pockets, all of which will fit your standard sized iPhone in a case. They are obviously well made, just look at the stitching. I got them on sale, so if $100 isnt your cup of tea, wait for a deal. Whatever you do, dont go for the ABR model instead. Save your money and be patient or spend the $100 per pair because even thats worth it.

The 5. 11 Stryke Pant has been my go-to for years. I wear a 28-32 in the Stryke. Being a slim guy, I wanted to try the straight-fit Icon pant. I ordered two pairs in size 28-32 and the waist was way too small. I was able to easily exchange them for two sized 30-32 Icon pants. After wearing and washing them a few times, I wish I had gotten the Icon pants in size 30-34 instead, as the inseams are just a little too short.nnThe pants are nice, but I really wish 5. 11s sizing was more consistent between styles. nnIf you know your Stryke pant size, dont be surprised if you have to go up one size in both waist and inseam for the Icon pant.

I own two pairs of these, the pair I wear mostly really shows the lack of durability to withstand the constant stress, especially in high-wear areas like the crotch. As my thighs naturally rub together, it creates friction that slowly wears away at the fabric fibers, making them thin and weak. I now have hole in the crotch of a pair of pants I really love.

These pants are perfect patrol pants. Stretch when you need them but still rugged and durable. Jumped a few fences and got stuck a couple times but the pants never tore just a couple of unavoidable holes from the barbs. They fit great and wear even better.

They fit decent when they're new but after the first wash they shrink way too much, practically unwearable now. Never even put them through the dryer. However the Stryke pants do not have this issue and can be put through the dryer with almost no shrinkage

Nice modern fit that is not as baggy as the Stryke and some of the other models. Very high quality fabric and stitching. It's more tailored which looks more professional on shorter or slimmer bodies. This feature might also make it difficult to carry a backup firearm on your ankle due to the more tailored leg opening. My only complaint is that it does not come in TDU or OD Green which is what my department wears. Ranger Green is not quite the same. Would also like 28 inseam option for us on the shorter side!

The last two Icon pants I ordered were a completely different fit. These were not a straight fit but a very relaxed baggy fit with a slightly longer inseam. Tried to exchange these at a 511 store and had the same issue.nI have been buying the Icon pant for years and something changed.

I have purchased a couple of 5. 11 gear items. All seem to be good.nnWith the Icon pants, I am an in between size so cool they have odd number sizing in both width & length. Also, very comfortable and tons of pockets!!! nnBiggest dislike & turn off is 5. 11 claims these pants are STAIN RESISTANT. nnI spilled some food on my pants leg before the first wash. After bathing my Kangaroo 5. 11 Icon pants, the stain was/is still there. nnI am curious as to what engine oil or grass stains from doing garden work would look like after a laundry cycle would looks like.

Tried them on in store and they fit good, got home washed them in cold water and dried on low. Wore them for my shift and they didnt fit like they did in store. Tight around the waist and ankle to where they keep riding up my boot and they also shrunk in length. Too bad as I really like the style and the pockets but wont be able to wear them anymore which is unfortunate as they have only been worn once.

I just came back from a month long trip to Africa and took three pair of 511 Icons with me. I loved the many 'pock-pocket-proof- pockets and used my matching 511 belts so I didn't have to take them off in airport security. These pants held up and did great in whatever task at hand. . . will keep buying these when my existing pairs wear out but come to think of it, they may never wear out! I also decide Africa is like old age, it ain't for the weak!

As someone who owns multiple pairs of Stryke Shorts, I never liked the Stryke pants as they were a tad too big in the legs. 5. 11 discontinued my favorite pants ever- Quest & Alliance Pants so I have not purchased any for a bit. Im glad though they updated the Stryke Pants to a more slimmed down look with the Icons. My issue though is with staining? I purchased these on New Years Eve 12-31-2024 in store. When I got home I noticed a stain on one of the legs after I already taken the tags off. Im a little bummed as these are not cheap. Actually, 5. 11 will you help me out with these? Would love to exchange them for a pair without stains.

I was at work and had a mug full of dp in my pants. Unbeknownst to me it was spilling every where inside the pocket while I had walked to my station. The pants where then had kept all the spelt liquid in the pocket and didn't drip any where. So 1. Kept me clean 2. Kept my work place clean would so keep a closest full of these pants.

I love these pants. Great fit and comfortable. Stretchy without feeling like you have a pair of yoga pants on. Wears very well and havent seen any color fade after numerous washings. One suggestion is to add a cell phone pocket/sleeve on the outside of the cargo pockets. I like a pocket to slip my phone into that doesnt require undoing Velcro.

Waist size is good, need to order one size up for length. Usually wear a 36x34 but in these I order a 36x36. Otherwise they are great. I have six pairs of these. Really comfortable and tough.

I have 4 pairs of these Icon pants, 3 more of the shorts, and i love the fit, the utility - there's a pocket for everything! - and the durability; I live in them. BUT:nThe zipper needs to be at least an inch longer, maybe more. I need to unbuckle and drop them to relieve myself! (I'm 6'-3). This is unnecessarily complicated.

The Icon Pant truly does have an amazing fit. They are comfortable all day at your desk or when your working hard in the Texas heat. I love the upper pocket location on both legs. Turn them inside out when you wash them, so they don't fade.

In 2016 I landed a job as a military contractor working directly with Marines at a military test branch on Camp Pendleton California. In 2017 I wanted to buy myself some nice clothes now that I could afford it. I was about 30 years old at that time and I actually knew about 511 from the videogame called the Division. I heard about and went to the grand opening of the 511 store in Oceanside California and in there I got to see all the cool stuff they had that the videogame didn't show. I only got a belt that day but I came back when no one was around and looked at their pants. I didn't know what I knew now and I'm very happy with myself for buying these pants. I didn't know or care to look at the price tag so I grabbed two pairs of pants, one in Kangaroo color and the other in Flint. I walked up to the counter, got checked out, and then I saw the price... it was about $180 for two pairs of pants all said and done and I felt gut punched because I had never bought pants more than $30 before so this was crazy to me. I decided to keep them and wear them to see how I liked them. It took me a couple days of complaining to my friends and family but ultimately convinced myself I deserved these pants. Fast forward to 2024 and I still have them! I wore each one weekly for 6 years. Did I mention I worked with the Marines? That's right, I'm not kidding, I ran in them, I wore the same boots as them, I swam in the ocean with them, wore them on field ops with them and of course worked on military vehicles with them. I even spilled about a gallon of oil down the pant leg of my Flint colored pants once and they kept trucking. What makes these pants so special is their design and material. That is the basis to awesome pants. Now I never said my pants don't have holes in them or anything because they do. The Kangaroo colored pants has a 1" triangular rip in the right butt cheek area and both pants have a white'ish colored fade around the knee area. If you weren't in a professional environment, no one would know and no one ever said anything to me about either pairs of pants and the way they looked. They both, to this day, function as normal. You can still see the quality in the material if you folded them inside out. What I like the most is the design. I have my CCW for California, that means I carry a firearm daily around town, and these pants are absolutely awesome for anyone like-minded as me. The waist area has a stretchy material that does not feel cheap in any way shape or form. It works. Pants like jeans can be uncomfortable because you're waist material is fixed, it physically cannot stretch so with these pants I can wear them as normal or when I stick my firearm and AlienGear holster inside my waist band, the pants stretch to accommodate and they have not over stretched or under stretched in 7 years. Paired with a Kore Essentials 10lbs gun belt, I appreciate 511 for creating extra large belt loops. They are much wider than regular jeans and none look worse than the day I bought them. I believe if you had to use those belt loops to hold my weight for zip-lining or repelling, I think they would hold my weight or anyone upwards of 200lbs. The belt loops are no sweat holding my belt and 9mm MP Shield let alone my full sized Springfield XD45. Inside the waist band at the zipper, not only do you have the zipper but you also have a clicker style button AND you also have a traditional button you can stab if you needed two buttons at once. The cargo pockets each have a hole centered at the top of the pocket so you can quickly push something like a pen through without having to open the pocket. Inside each cargo pocket are smaller pockets and I'll admit, I've never had a use for them. Me personally, I have a Wurkkos FC11 flashlight I keep in the slit pocket on my right side. These pants are just perfect for anyone who is a mechanic or someone who does house work or anyone who is basically active in working utility. I also carry a Benchmade Griptillian I got from the 511 store and I cannot stress how appreciative I am of whoever designed the basic front pockets. The bottom of the corner pockets are slightly angled so that a knife or something clippable can face downward, like a knife, and not eat at the material. I have a pair of Nautica jeans and the pocket is shredded from inserting and removing my knife but not either of my 511 pants. Whoever designed these specific pants needs a raise because I truly believe these are the best pants ever made. Ever. The fact that my pants were abused as they were and still work to this day is unbelievable. Pro tip if anyone does buy these pants, get yourself a product by SHOUT. Shout makes a product called Advanced Ultra Concentrated Gel Brush and wherever you have an oil stain or a dirt stain that looks like it has permanently stained the fabric, use that brush in each cardinal direction before throwing it in the wash. It will come right out. Even that oil stain I mentioned earlier down the entire pant leg came out. This was my secret to keeping these pants looking new. Do yourself a favor and just get these.

Best pants ever! This is my 3rd pair - front thigh pockets are big enough and great for a phone. Velcro and pocket flaps stay flat and function perfect even after years of wearing and washing. They stretch in and the right places so you can move and work freely. Love the style, I get many compliments on them.

I was unsure of the durability of these pants and I was on a tight budget and getting these even on sale was a hard decision. My day to day work involves a lot of landscaping, and I often get wholes in my cargos. But I decided to risk it. These pants arrived on time, and I have been using them for 3 weeks, so they still have a long way to go. However I have so far been extremely pleased with how the fit, the durability of them and how light weight they are. So far its been a very worth it purchase. They handle amazing in rain and they are fantastic at temperature control, whether hot or cold, which is such a relief with all the outside work I do.

They also sewed in flex areas that, too, make them fit so well. They are new, so, dont know how they will hold up. Well just have to see. These pants are what Im looking for in a pair of work-pants. Ive had Duluth pants, which being firehouse canvas were more durable, but massively traded the comfort I get from these, especially when the temperature gets above 70
F. nnI stared with a pair of stryke pants, then moved to the NYPD Stryke pants when I was in need of Navy pants and the Strykes were out of stock.nnMy main issue with the stryke pants was that the cargo pockets didnt come with internal dividers which are perfect for keeping a screwdriver, level, and other (nifty-to-have-its) in a consistent orientation and location rather than fishing around and using the (feels-like, i-think) method. These have them.nnI have two issues with these pants. Firstly, color representation. The kangaroo I received from my online order, and from an in-store exchange are not how the kangaroo looks on the website. On the website here, it looks like EMSs fencemender pants in Antelope which I have a pair of. They are not. Theyre more of a brownish-green than the brown-orange theyre displayed as. The color isnt bad, but Id prefer the other color. Oddly I saw a pair of their CEPHEUS pants in Pecan which look closer to what I was expecting, and to how pecan is represented on its product page. The dark navy is as represented.nnSecondly, I would like a dedicated carabiner hook other than a front belt loop. I used the badge holder on the NYPD pants as such, and will use the front belt loop on these. Its shown as not having one, and isnt marketed as having one. Its fairly minor, but a point. Also, having it closer to center so that keys arent as in the way of the front pockets would be nice.nnA note about the service; I ordered three pants of the wrong size. Im (very much) a 34 inseam, not the 32 I ordered. I luckily live within a 40 minute drive to a physical location. The person in store was knowledgeable, and had an engaged attitude. The exchange process in person was seamless, just a net-zero transaction for their inventory, and I walked out with the correct sizes.nnCompared to other of 5.11s models, and competitors choices, these are it for me.

As a Paramedic, I wanted to wear something other than the standard 5.11 selection of "EMS Pant" so I tried out both the Icon and ABR Pro. I don't utilize the scissor pockets and I feel that is the only real pull to buying those pants. nnPros -nModern more flattering fit, not as bulky or loose/baggy as the traditional EMS Pant - but still cover my boots without looking weird nFlexible, stretchy, lightweight, and breathable. Very comfortable to wear, feels similar to wearing nice scrubs.ndurable construction and quality materials as expected from 5.11 productsnDouble waist closure - snap + internal button/loop to keep the pants secure with or without a beltnwater/liquid resistantncargo and back pockets are well designed. low profile, and expand to fill. Deep enough to fit my gear without excess room for things to get lost. there are two additional internal pockets in the cargo pockets to keep things organized.nMulti-purpose pants - not just for work, they can be worn as a daily outfit or for outdoor activities and still look good and perform well. Pretty nice when you're spending $75+ on a pair of pants.nnCons -nThe top two upper thigh slit pocket thingsnI have found these not very useful and therefore just an annoyance to the design. nIf I put pens in there I find I can't sit comfortably, I have yet to find another use for these. nThe slit opening is stiff and feels almost like cardboard. nwhen you sit they become loose/open up and anything you could put in there feels like it would have the risk of falling out. nThe pants sit just a tad low on the waistnnOverall this is a very good choice for EMS work pants if you're not dead set on scissor pockets, however, if I had to choose between the Icon and ABR Pro, I'd choose the latter. The feel and fit is similar on both but the pocket layout on the ABR pro is a better choice in my opinion. But that's just a personal preference.

My second pair of Icon pants, when you don't need absolute waterproof, these keep me cool from early morning overcast to afternoon sunshine. Material is light, flexible and the structure allows any movement I need to make. Also look good for casual wear, with undertones of serious construction. I bought the icon pant to wear for work. I am a custodian/general maintance person for our local middle school. Recently while working on a plumbing issue, the valve fell apart and resulted in a huge high pressure water spray directly hitting me and soaking a entire bathroom with water (over 50 + gallons) going everywhere and into the halls of the school. By the time the water leak was turned off and the entire area cleaned up with water removal (20 minutes later) , the only part of me that was dry were the ICON PANT. I highly recommend these work pants for everyone. They have enough pockets for everything you need to get the job done, they are the most comfortable work pants I have ever owned AND they definitely pass the water resistant test.

Not bad.nI was hoping for a slimmer fit -- but these are borderline boot cut, big opening through the bottom of the leg.nnI actually took to the local store to return, and they acted like I was from another planet -- explaining, condescendingly, that of course they could not return or exchange an online order in the store! How dumb of me to have thought that. Ok.. it's standard practice for any clothing retailer with online and physical store sales. Whatever. ICON is a way better fit than STRYKE. More tapered legs yet you still have mobility. It has a little more stretch that STRYKE and for the amount difference is well worth it. Will definitely buy again.

Pants are a little heavy compared to the meridian pants because of the material. The pants are great for everyday use or activities. They have enough pockest and they are so comfortable. They are on the skinnier side but because of the flex you dont realize it. The extra stretch meterial on the pockets to the belt loop gives you a little room to grow. Lol. The only con about them are the inside pocket dividers on the cargo pockets. Thier good if your walking with mags in them but if your not everytime you stick your hand in the cargo pocket you end up with fingures stuck between the dividers and the pockets. What i mean is that the mag pockets gives the cargo pocket three sections which is great if you need them. If they would have a sale on them, i would buy seconds on colors because they are so nice. Thats how much i like them.

The pants themselves arent bad besides the bottom of the pants being very tight. So tight I couldnt get them over my boots. My biggest issue was a lack of customer service. I tried to swap them out for Stryke pants and was told sorry I can return them and reorder. The problem was I got the Icons on sale so now the Stryke pants which are normally cheaper would be $50 more for 2 pair. I mostly wear 5.11 pants to work but it might be time for a brand switch.

Amazingly comfortable and functional. I prefer the Icon pant over Stryker free several reasons; the flexibility at waist band/pockets which reduces all restrictions. The straight leg reduces the baggy image and the two front pockets do fit a Apple iPhone 14 pro max with a slim case no problem.

While these fit great overall on me without the typical 511 baggy look, the elastic stretch panels in the waist are a big problem. The vertical seams in the waistband create pressure points that press right on your hip bone all day, especially if you have gear on your belt. By about hour six of wearing, youll have a nice sore spot youll feel into the next day.

5 stars all around outside of one flaw. The inside of all 511 waist bands need to be smooth and seamless otherwise you will get torn up on the hips by the seams if wearing a duty belt. Especially torn up with hot spots where seam of the stretchy fabric meets the thick fabric. Try it for 4- 12 hours and youll know what I mean

The quality matches all other 5.11 products, top notch. This is a review for the Green, Stone and Khaki colorways. Fit is perfect. (the Black and Flint colorways were not the same, see my other review) Gusset is the perfect size for for light to heavy duty work/maneuvering. The stretch in the waist and pants itself is perfect for everything I do. The slim fit is perfect to look professional without looking overly tactical.

I'm not sure which is the Original cut/dimensions between the Black and Flint colors vs. the Khaki, Stone and Green colors. nCompared to the Khaki, Stone and Green colors, which for this review I will consider the originals. The black and flint even though I ordered the same exact size (32x32) as the Khaki, Stone and Green; they were approx. 3/4 inch longer on the inseam and the pant leg was approx 1/4 inch wider. This may not seem like a lot, but I could tell there was a difference and honestly felt like I was wearing the Stryke pants. Felt more like a Straight fit, as opposed to the desired Slim fit. Still a great pair of pants, just inconsistent with the other colorways.

After wearing the Strykes for a number of years, I find I prefer the Icon for its more streamlined appearance. I wish the sliding waist band could carry over, but these Icon pants are a better fit everywhere else. Color is pretty accurate w/ the site, and the 5.11 quality is there. These are now my go-to work pants for the cooler season after converting my Stryke pants to shorts by cutting them off.

Overall a great pant. I found them to be stiff and overly snug when I first put them on, but after wearing and washing them once they broke in well. The waste and length sizing is spot on and the material feel strong but comfortable at the same time. Just don't panic when you first put them on and they feel stiff!

Let's start with the price, initially there'll be some sticker shock. But let me tell you, I wear these 12-16 hours a day inside of a jail and I have no complaints. They're very comfortable, fit well with duty boots, while still maintaining a "slim fit" look. nnEveryone asks me about what pants that I have, and I always refer them to the Icon pant. I love them. They fit pretty true to size, I normally wear between a 36-38 waist and I went with the 38x30 size. The waist is just a LIL big but it allows tucking and retucking my shirt throughout the day easy.

Big fan of the Icon
it's the closest thing I can find to the ideal pant in 5.11's lineup. The extra pockets on the front are great for EDC. I just wish they made a version without the big flappy cargo pockets. I'm looking for an every-day, non-tactical-looking pant that still performs well and has extra room for EDC without being too overt. The material and the slimmer fit of the Icon are great. If they removed the cargo pockets and instead put in those discreet extra mag pockets above the back pockets then this pant would be perfect. And if they also decided to add in the zip-off legs like the Decoy then I would buy 10 pair and never look for another pant again

I thought these were the same cut as Ridge Pants but they are a little smaller (at least for me). I wanted a pant similar to the Ridge model but with a different pocket configuration. These fit a bit tighter so I may need a larger size and almost certainly need a longer length. The material is thicker than I expected so I may reserve these for tougher duty and winter weather. I do like the pocket config and the material.

These pants are a good start but over all are pretty unusable. They are too slim at the ankle and everytime I get out of my car I have to re-adjust the bottoms over my boots. Just go with the ABR straight fit ones. Cheaper and got better.

These are the best tac pants I've worn. Right off the bat the feel and look was amazing. Took them camping and they breathed perfectly while on a hike. Recently Changed up from the Stryke. Another excellent trouser from 5.11. These have a bit more tapered leg without any tightness. I use these pants instead of my issue duty trousers daily-lots of physical activity. Very comfortable and good looking. too.

First off these pants definitely fit slim. If youre between sizes get the bigger size, if you want a little looser go up another. They look good, I got the dark grey ones, and can be worn as regular pants around town and can also be taken out in the wilderness on hikes or whatever you like to do. They do have a good stretch but if you want to be moving around in them make sure you get the proper size. Otherwise it will get uncomfortable with tight fitting pants. If youre thinking of buying these Id recommend it. I might even get another pair.

5.11 pants always beat bluejeans for comfortably. This version of Icon is better than previous ones. Integrating the front pockets into the stretch waist works well and blends visibly. The small front pockets are great for little gadgets without bulge. Cargo pockets are good, but the small front pouches are my go-to. Hopefully future version will have secondary back pockets at the hips, but I do love these pants.

They seem to run a bit small. 32 waist in Stryke pants fit me perfectly. 32 in Icon are too small, and 33 fit but theyre snug.

Overall, these pants have some really nice features. The stretchiness of the pants facilitate ease of movement. There an abundance of functional pockets that allow access to your gear. I love the two slot pockets on the top of the thigh. Great for a cell phone or small cards or documents...I have even used them for pens. nnOne thing I don't like about the side pockets is the height of the inner two pockets in relation to the main pocket. When reaching in to the pocket, it is sometimes difficult to access the intended pocket, especially when the pockets are empty (the material is flat), so when you think you are reaching into the big main pocket, your fingers get jammed with the one of the two inner pockets.nnI also would like to see a slightly larger flare on the bottom of the pant leg to facilitate the pant not getting caught on the boot top.nnOther than that, these pants are awesome!:sunglasses:

These and the Ridge Pants are my favorite. Comparably these are made with thicker nylon type materials. However my complaints are the same - zipper pull is tiny and the opening feels small because of the overlapping material behind it. Size is true to fit. nnI am 150lbs @ 58 and usually would buy 30-31 waist with an inseam of 30. However I wanted extra coverage for boots so I purchased 31x32.

I was not expecting them to be as comfortable. They only took a couple of wears to get them feeling like a nice pair of jeans. I like the elastic on the waist/front pocket area. These are listed as slim and they do fit less baggy than other cargos especially my old issued so I was slightly hesitant as I am not into slim or slimming pants as a preference but these changed my perspective, in that they are still roomy and more mobile than what I was used to.

I am 6ft 145lbs. I wear a 30/32 and most uniform tactical pants have leg girth that just looks unprofessional on my frame. I dont want the tactical equivalent of skinny jeans, I just dont want enough fabric around my small legs to make a queen sheet set. These pants are perfect. They are slim-straight, not skinny. The leg opening is big enough to easily fit over my 8 5.11 APEX black boots. They look so much more professional on someone of my frame. I use them as an EMS pant. My department uses another 5.11 pant as the uniform requirement but I got an exception for these pants because they come in the exact same color and look so much better on me. The stretch panels at the hips are awesome for crouching and kneeling. This is normally where the fabric would bunch up and could press uncomfortably into the front side of your hips. But this different fabric here eliminates this problem. The pockets and reinforcements are great. Trauma shears dont wear through the pocket and the reinforced pocket edges make clipping and unclipping flashlights and knives easy and secure. All told, this is a great looking and great performing pant that is suitable for EMS use.

As a security technician Ive been wearing 5.11 pants for the last 5 years. I started off with the 5.11 Tactical pants, them graduated to the Stryke pants. I find the Stryke a better pant for me and what I do and what I carry on me.I just recently bought a pair of Icons in a 34-32. They were a little snug in the waste compared to my Tactical and Strykes of the same size. But more importantly, the zipper on the Icon does NOT leave a lot of room for a man to go to the bathroom save for undoing his belt, the inside button, and the outside button. Men, you know what Im talking about. So I ordered a 35-32 thinking the extra width would remedy this issue. Sadly it does not. The zipper length on the Tactical and Stryke is perfect. What happened and what size man (or was it a woman??) did you use as your model when designing these?!?! Who wants to undo their entire pant to just go #1!!Id love to order more of these as I love the slim fit and they have all the same pockets as the Stryke. But man that zipper is killing me. Maybe when you all redesign them, if at all, Ill reconsider. Until then, my 3 star review stands.

I low sided my motorcycle at about 60 mph, landed on a dirt embankment/asphalt, and slid/rolled for about 25 yards. These pants only had minor scuffs and one 3/4 inch hole across the legs. AMAZING durability and will be buying again.

These pants are great, they shipped quick. As usual, great 5.11 order. My better than the original, which are still great. The one thing I will tell anyone who orders anything from 5.11, the material changes from color to color. I have over 25 pairs of various non denim material 5.11s. Regardless of what they tell you, the lighter beige and grey colored pants 100% of the time arent as soft or cut the same as beige, khaki, green. Just a heads up.

Im 53 145lbs. These are a godsend since the apex and taclite pants look too baggy. I like that these pants have the slit pockets in the front. I can carry a knife, pistol mag, or a small flashlight. However, I wish these had more room around the crotch area since I experience the pants riding up while seated causing some discomfort.

I have a lot of trouble finding pants that arent too big and baggy on me since I have more of a slimmer, athletic build. Ive had both Propper tactical pants and 5.11 Stryke pants, and both of those are WAY too baggy on me. They both fit and look like parachute pants. Since the Icon pants are tailored a bit thinner around the thighs and calves, they fit a 1,000 times better and make my uniform look way more professional. I have gotten tons of compliments while wearing them too! If you are looking for some tactical pants that will fit in all the right places and not have fabric for days, youll love the Icon pants. Worth every cent.

This is how a pant should be built. The issues with the Stryke pants were remedied with the Icon. Fit is spot on and the waist sits perfect. I do have one gripe - we need more color options. I will definitely buy more if we had the same color options as the Stryke.

I purchased these less than a year ago and like some other reviews Ive read, the crotch gives out quick. I love these pants so much because of the fit, Im purchasing another pair! I hope 5.11 does something about this issue! For the price Im upset at the quality in the above statement. Other than that, the color lasts very long after washing often. I purchased the navy blue for work. They fit slim, that was the intention I believe. Best way to put it I Is they are slimmer Stryke pants by 5.11. They stretch well and moving and they have a ton of dexterity. They are thicker than the Apex pant by 5.11, so they are warmer. Its a pro for winter, con for summer. Although the Apex pant are thinner and cooler, they have lasted me WAY longer than these 5.11 Icon Pant. I ordered these pants after being issued some of the typical Blauer uniform pants that don't offer any additional pocket space, tend to be hot and uncomfortable, and don't fit to the body very well. Since I ordered these, they have made a great addition to my everyday uniform - In comfort, durability, and the overall appearance and tactical usefulness of my uniform these pants have been invaluable and 100% worth the price. As an example, I spilled an entire cup of coffee on them while sitting at my Officer's Station and it simply beaded up and fell off, no stain. These pants are comfortable, insanely well-fitting, durable and performance-based. They are a GREAT addition to any law enforcement uniform. Highly recommend!

I own three pairs for daily wear and rotate two pairs for EMS. Fit is comparable to 5.11's slim fit chino, and both are comparable to American Eagle slim fit pants. If you have a slim build these will look great on you and offer great functionality as well.

I have had many 5.11 pants over the years. My favorite are the slim fit Defender Flex Jean and the Apex. I checked out a pair of these at my local store. While they are nice in the ways listed above, I want a casual cargo pant that doesnt scream tactical or I am possibly carrying. Plus the velcro pockets! Yes they are nice and hold whatever you have in there, however nothing is worse than breaking the silence and announcing to the world you are getting in your pocket for something you want secure. Also sometimes tugging on the flap pulls the pant leg up first then it will open. The Apex is nice but a zipper is also sometimes noisey or doesnt release and tugs the pants sideways first before it opens, and they arent very casual. While walking around the store I noticed a simple cargo pocket with magnetic snaps...however it was the womens Ascent pants. Now this is the first time in my life I almost justified buying a womens pant. No I didn't try it on but it was a split second that I considered it. So long review short. 5.11 pant designers please, PLEASE! make a casual pant like the Ascent pant but for men. Same material, slim fit, full length of course and, most importantly...MAGNETIC SNAPS! Its quiet and secure and doesn't scream tactical or tacticool!. Please make a pant like that for men! Please?

They are a perfect middle weight between the TDU pant and Traverse pant. Very true to size and so damn comfortable! Already bought two more! Quit reading reviews and stock that cart!!!

Saw the great reviews for these and went to my local store to try them on. Super impressed with the fit of them. I normally wear Levi 511 Cut jeans and these fit just like them. A nice slim fit but still enough room to move around. Waist has a good amount of stretch too. I wear a 36 waist and sometimes 36 waist pants don't fit but these have the perfect amount of stretch.

The SO I work for doesn't have the budget for these so I made the investment myself and they're hands down my favorite tactical style pants I've ever owned.But I think It'd be great if they could make these in multicam!

I have gone to the store and tried on all the pants non of them feel and fit like these. Im a six one dude and my legs are of normal size and these fit perfectly. Not to baggy and not to skinny they fit perfectly.

I just received these pants after having mens stryke pants, womens stryke pants and various other brands and styles, these are the BEST pants to date. I am speaking as a woman in law enforcement where we know wearing this style pant is common for training and classes. With previous style pants, the common problem In the past is the leg size. In order for the legs and rear to fit up top, the rest of the legs are like a parachute. The other battle is that typically, the crotch is too long. For those of you that share these common struggles, this is your pant! The legs are slim and not tight against the thighs and parachutes below the knee. They have an even, consistent fall on your leg and are fitted yet comfortable around the waist area. I am super excited about these pants!

These are my first pair of 5.11s and I have to say, they are the most comfortable pants I ever had! I've always worn Levi jeans or Dickies and are always hit or miss in terms of comfort and size. These are a must have to anyone checking these out.

The Icon pretty much addressed any critiques that I had while wearing the Stryke pants. Wore those almost daily for a couple of years down range as a contractor but the extra material in the knees, bulky waist with the elastic and slightly baggy fit were the things I didn't like.The Icon addressed all of these with a slimmer and more "modern" fit and having the Apex side stretch panels work better than the elastic in the tunnel of the Strykes. If 5.11 would make these in the same fabric as the Apex, they would have a serious hit on their hands.

After nearly two months of use, I've noticed that the waistband is not as comfortable as the Stryke since there's no self-adjusting waistband. When I'm wearing a belt with this pant, I get irritations from the uneven pressure on the waistline. I feel some slight pain in the right hip bone area after wearing for more than 2 hours, especially when sitting. This has been a consistent problem. The self-adjusting waistband is not only comfortable but has a smooth waistline, making it the most comfortable pant in 5.11 from my experience. Everything else is still good. However, the Stryke is by far the most versatile and comfortable pant.

Ive been using these pants for 2 weeks now and I love it. I work at a zipline here in Las Vegas and they are the most comforting pants Ive used for work purposes. The mobility is great and the pockets are super useful.

This will sum it up. This is a slimmer Stryke pant. Its not a skinny pant, but its more streamlined. It is an overall lighter pant than the stryke. The two front blade pockets are slanted now which make it easier to grab a blade while sitting and makes it more comfortable. Pros:-streamlined and slightly skinnier pant-lighter than stryke-comfortableCons:- no handcuff key pocket - waistband not as stretchable as stryke. (Still pretty stretchable, just not as much)Overall:Great pant. Looks good.

This is my second 5.11 pant and I like the the way it's built. It's very similar to the stryke pant but with a deeper side picket. The material around the knees feels lighter and the over pant is a slimer fit. One thing to watch out for is the waist band. On this pant the waistband is not the same as the stryke, because it doesn't offer the elastic waist band, instead it's a more accurate and a tighter fit around the waist. There's not much give to it. Overall it's the same pant as the Skryke but feels lighter and more slim. I'm 5'8'' 148 Ibs. I wear a 30X30 the waist size is so accurate that I can wear this pant without a belt and the length fits better than some athletic pants.

This pant is the unofficial stryke 2.0! I've worn them for a week and I'm extreamly impressed. I dare say they might replace my stryke pant. More colors would be awesome and maybe a cuff key on the back or pant leg like the apex

I have two pair now. Ive really enjoyed the fit of this pant. Its like a new and improved Stryke 2.0 (unofficially). The cargo pocket is 9 deep where the Stryke pant is 7. 80/20 poly/cotton ripstop without the reinforced knee and a slimmer fit makes for a nice pant! The slim fit is nice for a change, the Stryke started feeling like a lot of material was just hanging on me all the time. I recommend this pant!

Do not stop selling these. I will never buy anything again from 5.11. nThese pants were really thought through when they made these. Pockets in the best place, the back pockets don’t need the flap. nThe front pocket is great for all my tools I use at work.
