Perfect weekly work bag. Carries all essentials and is excellent with my Rush 12 pack. My only issue is the tech pocket - not big enough for my phone but I do store my mini power bank and Airpods in there. Overall fantastic EDC.

Perfect size bag for EDC. Well constructed. Plenty of room for essentials. I have many bags from different stores. Some too big and some too small. This meets my needs very well. I also buy our FD uniform pants from 511 and they too are high quality. My only complaint with 511 is the shipping. It is in consistent. When the order is placed an arrival date is given. A day or two will go by and now it will be delivered sooner than previously indicated. Then it comes late.

The bag itself is great. I was confused because it says the tier system is sold separately so I bought it aswell. When the bag came, I got the teir system, then I found a teir system that came in the bag in one of the pockets so now I have 2 which isnt a bad thing. The strap is weird. The tech pocket is odd, I dont know what would fit in there other than a pack of smokes. The pad slides around on the strap and with the permanent placement of the tech pocket, its difficult to maintain comfortable carry. I took some 100lb braided fishing line and sewed the movable pad directly under the tech pocket and only now does the bag stay on my shoulder were I want it. All in all its a great bag but yall need to fix the strap pad in place, as it moving around is inconvenient for almost all situations. And the tech pocket. . . idk about that. I dont smoke so I put a hand held sharpening stone in it for now.

Though I might change a few things if it were up to me, I have no substantive complaints with the bag itself. *However*, the strap design could hardly be any worse:nStarting with the "tech pocket": it would be great, if I had any tech that was the size of a can of snuff. This pocket also, when wearing the bag, falls somewhere between the top of your shoulder and somewhere on your back. nIt doesn't seem to matter how you adjust the strap, the buckle will somehow always end up the the most uncomfortable position and be at just the right angle to slowly loosen itself. nPadding? Yeah technically there is padding for the strap. It comes in the form of a goofy add-on pad,(that you will most likely throw away) which is held on by three hook-and-loop straps. These don't keep it from sliding down the strap and ending up anywhere but your shoulder. Also, hook-and-loop nsucks for most applications and I would much rather have seen snaps or buttons or permanent attachment by sewing. There is a tiny, permanently-attached pad on the strap. It is above the "tech pocket" but, as I mentioned, this will fall somewhere on your back. Not very useful, even if it was big enoughnnThe bag itself is quite good. There are plenty of dividers and pockets that seem well thought out and the whole thing is well-made. It's too bad the strap makes carrying this bag such a miserable experience that it lives in my closet full-time. I hope that someday 5. 11 will update the strap design for this perfectly sized man-purse holster

I have several 5. 11 bags and backpacks and have had several sling bags. I just cant make this bag comfortable and I really dont like how it hangs or how the strap wears on body. Im a normal size, height, weight, and the padded sling part ends up on my back and the bag wont sit correctly without sagging and leaning off my back.

I'm thinking of buying another great bag for day hikes and routine stuff and edc can fit a nalgine water bottle. Lunch and euro style pellet burner stove pluce some extras The only improvement I would make is beyond a man purse. I would like to see this bag made with some sort of a waste strap or chest strap to secure it to your body better nBut as far as I'm concerned probably one of the best day packs I've ever had until my fuel pump exploded in the back of my car saturating it in gasoline. No this bag is not petrochemical resistant and the rubber will melt.

Bought this for my wife as an anniversary gift. She doesn't like purses but sometimes she has stuff she needs to bring with her. Figured this was perfect. The pockets and compartments are great for organizing. It's small enough for basic needs but not so small that you can't pack extra necessities if you needed to. I love the fact that it comes with the extra straps and buckets to attach to other bags. They says it's for their rush bags but any with the molly webbing will work. And the concealment carry pocket is a nice touch and nnNow the cons about this bag. It has no secondary strap to keep it from moving around alot if you were carrying it on a hike or doing alot of walking. The pocket they claim is meant for a camel pack is a joke to be used as such but is great for other things. This bag does need some updating. It's 2024 and the comms pocket on the strap is small. We all know that 90% of the users of this bag would use it for their phone but because the design of this bag is from a time when phones were alot smaller, majority of today's phones won't fit. nnIn all though it's a decent bag.

Well I needed a bigger bag to carry more stuff, like most of us. Its big enough for what I needed. I personally dont care for the way the bag hangs. After watching a youtube review of the bag. You have to carry it like a sling. Which is the description. You cant just throw it over your shoulder, it wont hang right. From the trips from the house to the car I dont need to carry it like a backpack. Seems like more of an oversized man purse to me. Kinda disappointed.

We've purchased several 511 packs, multiples of each of the 12, 24, and 72, for multiple company purposes over the last several years. We love the toughness and overall designs. HOWEVER, it is extremely annoying that 511's packs' and bags' main compartments and admin compartments, as with the admin compartment on this Rush Moab 6, don't clamshell all the way open. (Thank goodness they made the main compartment on this Rush Moab 6 to clamshell all the way open. )nnLook at the 5th picture in the line of pictures for this Moab 6. You see that the front opening panel of the admin compartment buckles and crimps over part way down when you unzip it as far as you can and try to open it all the way. When you try to open it, instead of easily opening all the way and laying flat at a 90 degree angle like it should, it just crimps over, can't come open as far as it needs to. With that, the crimping pushes out anything in those two inner pockets. Plus, if you have anything attached to the molle on the outside, that buckling effect can keep you from opening the front panel like you want.nn511 says they make them this way in order to keep contents from spilling out. Well, hello? With the way the zipper works, you can unzip it only part way from top to bottom on either or both sides. If you don't want contents to "spill out," then just don't open it all the way.nnAlso with this Moab, you have this non-optional, permanently affixed little pouch on the sling. Why? What if a user doesn't want a pouch there? Why not just put molle there, instead, so that users can add a pouch if they want, and not if they don't want?nnWe give this only one star instead of two or three or four because the lack of clamshelling is now a total deal-breaker for us for buying any more 511 non-clamshelling packs. If 511 will fix this design flaw, we'll probably buy several more of the their packs.

The strap pouch is too small for an uncased/unprotected iPhone 16 Pro. All the videos and pictures Ive seen there is a drain hole in the larger central pouch and 2 key lanyards in the admin section. My black bag does not have the drain grommet and only has 1 key lanyard.

Don't like the big pull-tab pock on the back side of the main compartment of 511 packs, the one that looks like it's for stuffing. 511 should exclude that or make it removeable, like with hook-n-loop on each side and bottom.

For the most part I like the sling. I just wish the tech pouch was a bit taller so I could fit my Samsung S22 Ultra in it, and maybe make it detachable as a Mini EDC/Admin Pouch. I should have checked the dimensions before purchasing, but it was disappointing.

While this has been my favorite EDC / travel bag for years, it's in desperate need of an update. There are vastly better and lighter materials out there...you don't even have to get fancy. How about a 1000D or 500D Cordura versions? While great on the organization side, it's always looked and felt a bit on the cheap side.

I wanted something for EDC and seen reviews on this bag. Yes at first is very uncomfortable if you're not wearing it the correct way but once you find that sweet spot its like any other sling pac you carry. Love the tactical look. It a great bag in my opinion.

I've had this bag for over 10 years now and refused to wear it until this year (2024). Of course, I encountered the same problem as you-- it sits weird and hurts my shoulder. BUT if you put the bag on as if you're going to wear it on your front and then sling the pack under your arm, it will sit on your back sideways, with better weight distribution, and be flat against your back. I have to wear it relatively high for this to be successful, and the tech pocket needs to be in the right spot so that my arm can hang comfortably, but this technique took my bag from being unusable to my favorite edc bag.

All my other bags lasted about 1 or 2 trips offshore then zippers freeze up or fall apart due to the saltwater. This one has lasted over two years and still going strong. Guessing about 300 hours of exposure to salt breeze, rain and lots of Florida sun. Just bought another one. I probably overload it with gear so not real comfortable to carry on my shoulder. Clasp allows easy attachment to boat. Full sized CCW smith and wesson 645 stainless steel pistol and two loaded mags plus plus EPIRB and tackle etc. I didn't waterproof it but gear stays relatively dry even left out in the rain.

Good bag for edc items but my only gripe is that I got the black color and it picks up lint like crazy. It's wild how much lint it picks up just doing the simplest task. If I wear an orange shirt, there will be orange lint on my bag. The bag itself is great and does all you'd expect from a tac bag, it's just the lint build up that drives me insane

I needed a small pack to supplement larger bags on a canoe trip. The 11L was the perfect size for my fishing tackle, toiletries and other accessories needed on daily expeditions. The bag is well made and heavy duty. I also loved the number of pockets and overall organization of the bag. Unfortunately though

is that the bag is extremely uncomfortable to carry. It slouches, and you can never get it to fit over your shoulder just right. Thats a dealbreaker for me. Ill be looking to replace with another 5.11 bag

This is my third RUSH MOAB pack, I have the 72 hour and the 12 hour packs already. I was looking for an EDC pack that was compact but roomy to stow my EDC gear. Love how it slings over the shoulder, carries work related gadgets as well as my self defense items. Great pack, highly recommend. I bought the black one for low profile. Black is such a common backpack color.

After reading through a lot of the reviews on this watching videos etc I decided to give this bag a try. I've had it for several years at this point and I can honestly say it fell short in a number of important ways. The first way is that it can't decide what it is, if it's a quick access sling bag or a molle bag meant to have extra stuff on it. The molle webbing on the front is deceptive as the one I have the outside webs aren't full width which means some of the pouches with wide straps can't fit in them. The result is that they are essentially useless for a lot of pouches and that means you have to center an IFAK and can't put anything else on the front. Continuing the trend down the sides the molle panels are only two wide with the third part being narrow so you can put some of the d-rings and carabiners and stuff in them but you can't put any three wide pouches. Having all the molle on them is nice but as I have tested and redone my entire pack multiple times now it just doesn't make sense. You put stuff on it and it's too big and bulky to sit properly as a sling bag or be easy to move around and it puts far too much weight on one shoulder so why bother designing it like it's going to be able to be loaded with stuff.My second problem with it is that the CCW pocket is NOT big enough for full sized guns or even full width guns(which was part of the original advertising campa

Concealed carry slot is very small and the closure is precarious I've had a pistol fall out it nits held close with some 3/4
intermittent velcro strips and wont fit a full sized pistol its not well planned for a secure and yet accessible concealed carrynIt was missing the shoulder pad when purchased which i only realized after viewing the you tube video

It's the best bag I own, by far. Recently took it on a vacation - keys, wallet, phone, passports, medicine, water, etc...kept all of my essentials organized perfectly. I also use it for EDC at home every day. The only complaint I have is the CCW pouch - if the bag is stuffed full, it could be difficult to access my pistol. If it had reinforced sides to the pouch it could improve it. Hoping that it holds up over time, I don't baby it.

Just great, dont hesitate with this one! nLooks small, but for an edc, has a big capability with very good organization compartments. When going to work, I fit in it a 730ml Stanley (you know theyre bulky), 2 small snapwares, one or two fruits, my heaphones, cellphone, work ID, pens, etc., and has space left. Carrying it one handed and not using the sling. Very comfortable also. GET IT!

Picked one of these up at my local 5.11 and it's been great so far. Lots of double stitching and feels like good quality. It's _just_ a tiny bit "tippy" and no matter how I load it out it's hard for it to sit up straight but it's a HUGE improvement over my last EDC bag. Slings great over the back and is adjustable to fit guys with broad shoulders. It doesn't slide around all over the place on my back when riding a motorcycle to work. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Purposed this bag as a personal on the go medical kit. This is a small to medium sized bag that allows for a lot of options for storages. I will probably repurpose for traveling on planes as it just eliminates unused space that a typical backpack would have.

Great little sling bag that always comes in handy. Makes a perfect "personal bag" for flights (this and a carry-on is all I ever need), and made extremely well. One design change compared to my 5+ year old previous model is the quick disconnect for the main cross-body shoulder strap. This one is awkwardly placed behind my neck, whereas the previous version was very convenient and easier to use. Otherwise, this is my perfect everyday bag that'll last for years.

I like the bag overall, pockets are nice, concealed carry pocket is well hidden and it is comfortable to carry. However, after a few months of use, the cross body strap started slipping out of the buckle, causing the bag to fall to the ground. Makes me nervous since I carry, don't want the bag falling to the ground. This could be my favorite bag but due to the strap and buckle problem have to give it 1 star.

This is my 3rd 5.11 rush series pack. You can't deny the reliability of these packs. You pay for what you get. I purchased plenty I mean plenty of packs over the years. And 5.11 in my opinion is the most reliable and worth the money. My dianses and Nelson rig motorcycle backpacks don't even compare. But this sling pack specifically is my first and it has all the bells and whistles for me. For this pack has tons of pockets for its size. No complaints so far.

Best in-between sling and backpack. Has been my go-to since buying ~one month ago, over more typical slings.nVery good materials and construction. They did not cheap out on the fabric - it is stronger and thicker than any other sling I have tried. Seams seem high quality and sturdy with about a month of use. Wore in heavy rain for 30 minutes, the fabric absorbed a lot of water but didnt let any in to the compartments.nCarries more than most slings because it has more depth (sticks out further from your back). Square shape helps keep it small and carry a lot. I wear it with the phone pouch along my side, under my left arm. Sits well here. Can access phone pouch without even moving the bag. Strap pad works. Doesnt sit well with the phone pouch on top. nMOLLE system is good. I attached a water bottle pocket and a fold-up dump pouch. n4/5 because it would sit well both ways if the strap ran under the phone pouch instead of coming out of it. Also would be nice if the admin pocket was in the main compartment, and if the outer compartment had a bit more depth.

This is a great everyday bag. I am an instructor at an Academy. I keep a flashlight, SOG multipurpose tool, pens, markers, my lunch, keys, a couple of drinks, and other stuff in the bag. Its the perfect size. On range day, I keep my secondary pistol and some ammo inside with a cleaning kit. nnBefore this purchase, the price send a bigger bag and it was too big, stuff moved around and was in disarray. nnThe black one is mine and the OD green belongs to another instructor.

Got it for my wife, seems that she likes it pretty well. The pocket on the strap could be a little larger or shaped better for a trauma dressing and CAT. Could use a little more Velcro for ID. Build quality is very good, she's pretty hard on her daily gear and it's holding up just fine.

The quality of 5.11 products is unmatched. The zippers, the straps, the design of the pockets, etc. ...fabulous. The way this MOAB 6 works with their tiered system is also fabulous. I have a RUSH 24 and I look forward to utilizing these two items in a "tiered" manner in the future.nnThe one curious thing with the MOAB 6 however is how it sits on the body. When I slung it over my shoulder, it did not sit flush against my back but floated away from my back. This was quite uncomfortable. I search and search youtube on this but also I found was other users/reviewers noticing the same thing: it's a great bag but it just doesn't sit right on the back. For that reason, many users were returning it or choosing other bags over the MOAB 6.nnThen I finally came upon a video that opened my eyes. It showed me the RIGHT way to wear the MOAB 6. I can't explain it in writing, but it was sort of like I needed to reverse the way I wore the back even though I had it slung over the same shoulder. Maybe you do a 180 degree flip of the strap loop before putting it on. I don't know, but it made ALL the difference.nnWhat's curious to me is that the 5.11 site has mock pictures of a stick figure wearing the sling bag and it's the wrong way--it will float off of the body that way. Could it be the 5.11's marketers don't actually know the product? Again, I don't know...but it's curious to me. I was about to set the bag aside until I came upon this short review on youtube that set me straight. If you're frustrated with how the bag sits on your back, keep searching youtube with search items such as "proper way to wear MOAB 6" and I think you'll find an answer. nnAs for other features of the bag, it has awesome storage capacity and organization. Awesome. Very practical and functional. I especially love their mesh pockets (although there's only one on this bag...RUSH 24 has a couple). I haven't really tested it for load, but that's not my purpose for this bag (to jam it full of stuff); it's my day back not an overnight bag.nnOverall, I will always recommend 5.11 products. Just do some research beforehand on the product(s) you're looking for and don't necessarily trust 5.11 pics. Check out youtube reviews (multiple ones--not just the guys who review the product right after opening the box!).

This bag is a perfect size for quickly taking a few things when you dont have enough room in pockets. Great for bike rides and travelling. Super comfortable and stays on (doesnt slide or fall off). Many pockets and ways to utilize space. Im so happy I grabbed this bag. I love the velcrow areas for customizable patches. The hidden CCW compartment is a great size for any compact style pistol, and is probably one of the best features that make this bag so useful. It comes with four straps that you can use to attach the bag to a bigger 5.11 bag, I used one and attached it to the front to hold an extra shirt or sweater or something. This was a great purchase and I will buy from 5.11 again.

Typical 5.11 outstanding quality. On our day hikes, we had lunch, water bottles, and first aid gear stowed away nicely. Almost could have used the MOAB 10 but this was a nice compact package. I'm still torn between twin straps or the single sling. Both have their pros and cons. The sling is cooler on your back. The pack style distributes the weight better. Highly recommend the MOAB 6 Sling.

This is a great bag with decent sized storage area's and without too many pockets that typically come on these. Minimalist is sometimes better, I don't need 30 different pockets to loose my gear because I cannot remember which one has a certain item. When I need an item, I want to retrieve it quickly. Too many pockets have always been an issue on 5.11 and this one is not the case. I also own the Moab 10 and it is equally good and thought out, just larger.nnThe only negative I have is the pad that is on the strap. I own numerous bags from 5.11 and this pad never makes sense to me. It slides back and forth, always in the wrong spot and cannot be adequately secured. I like this in a particular spot after I have decided on a length, give me a way to keep it in place permanently.

I got three weeks ago it was on sale $60 paid . Im bag collection man. This Moab 6 lot of peoples complaining about no balance stabilizer. of weight control , but I add Waist belt - that make. Super tight. On my body extremely well balanced control sling bag . All my other bag has waist belt I built in. Very easy to get install on any bags , so I like medium size not heavy to carry outside longtime walk city or ocean side or mountain anywhere I go with 511 Moab 6 Fun to play photo taking. Or when I go to park put sandwiches and cookies and drinks . Also room to carry fewnpiano sheet music ( play piano is my hobby ). This bag is probably the best one I've bought from anywhere. It's the perfect size for not wanting to look like you're going camping in the woods after work. I couldn't find any bags elsewhere that were this small with an admin panel too. The only gripes I have are the fact that I couldn't get it in black, and the zippers for the water pouch were installed backwards.

Picked up this bag hoping that it would be the perfect EDC bag. All though it is a great bag that holds everything I need on the go, I find myself carrying it by its top handle because it just isnt that comfortable when worn as a sling. Used for essentials going back and forth to work including lunch. I like the sling feature as its easy to throw over your shoulder or even across to other shoulder when you need to run or have hands free. Lots of compartments for little things. Draw backs - They should have expanded the pouch on the sling to be large enough for Iphone. its pretty much useless otherwise. I use it to store my wallet sometimes. Also, do not like the ripping noise from the vel-crow when access the compartment for my carry weapon. You can hear that accross a busy parking lot. I'm currently thinking about getting a 24 or 20L for little more room.

I ordered the Sandstone and for some reason received the black pack, didnt feel like going through the mission to send it back for replacement so i just but the bullet and kept it. nnHowever, This bag is perfect and does 4-5x more than i need it for. The only complaint against it i have is that it should be 2-3 inches taller to fit an iPad Pro 12.9 inside :( i can fit my Mini fortunately but the Pro is my work Laptop so i really wish i was able to have to only carry the Moab solo. Other than my individual specific complaint this bag is beyond worth the money and as usual 5.11 Tac for the win!

I ordered the MOAB 6 with the full intention to use it as a medic bag and I am not disappointed in that decision. Wile the bag looks small I can fit all kinds of med gear in it. Everything from rolled gauze, 4x4 gauze pads, 2x2 gauze pads, and Israeli bandages. To tools such as blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, pulse ox meter, and glucose meter. All that and it still has room to put more in it. I love this bag.

I recently purchased a Rush 12 2.0 and am absolutely happy with the quality of 511. I saw the need for a smaller everyday carry bag and the Moab 6 was just right. Once you figure out how you want to carry it it will become like your second skin. It does come with 4 Rush Tier System straps which is cool because I can attach it to my Rush 12. My only complaint is the little gadget pocket on the front strap is pretty small but no biggie.. Im an old school Guy that frowned at "man bags" but this is as manly of a bag as I found.

The only thing I would change is the back pouch zippers so they are oriented the same as all the others. This is considerably smaller than I expected even at the given measurements listed. This bag has lots of cool pockets but they are poorly placed as when filled you loose 90 percent of one of the "big"chambers. Adjustment of strap could also be easier. I'm now trying to figure out what I can use this bag for as I can't for my original purpose. 70 dollars is way too much. 35 to 40 would be more in line.

I've had a Moab 6 pack for at least 5 years, maybe more. I've put it aside to try other bags over this time, but I always return to this particular bag. It is the exact right size and has always carried everything I need and had room for more when necessary. It is extremely well made and very rugged. The organization is perfect for me. I don't own or carry any weapons so that allotted space serves me well for other needs. When I find a pack that is 95% exactly what I need, I alter the other 5% and make it work. I converted mine to a single strap shoulder bag which is very comfortable and goes with me everywhere. In making the conversion I also set it up to be used as a small backpack with a different harness that I happened to have from some other gear. So this pack is now 100% my everyday bag. I carry it comfortably everywhere and it makes my life much easier.

While I like the bag, my one issue is the pocket for cell phones is too small. My phone is one of the smaller ones on the market and the pocket does not even come close in holding it. In this day and age of cell phones there is no excuse to make a pocket that will not hold one while advertising it is a communication pocket.

These are great bags. High quality. Good spaces to keep things organized. It is my everyday carry bag with G26, extra mag, multi tool, Maratac lighter, 50 ft of paracord. I have one for EDC (Double Tap) with Glock etc, and another (Sandstone) that NEVER has a weapon or fire tool in it for air travel. Their are two things that keep the rating from being a 5:1. One sling. It needs to have capability of adding another. LL Bean Stowaway was my previous EDC but had few compartments and no way to easily carry the Glock. Stowaway was VERY comfortable to carry for hours. 2. Its a bit awkward to carry In sling position for some reason. Doesnt ride well especially if the outside pocket is heavily loaded. Mitigated some by putting all heavy stuff in the main compartment. Even with these, its still the best small bag(s) I own. Would do it again.

First and foremost... it's a nice bag. Just got a MOAB 6... Nice little pack for a day trip, mini "Go" bag or a more robust Med kit... the fact that it can be integrated into larger back systems in nice but seems to be all the MOLLE is really good for. I'm not a huge fan of the sling-only option and I think the option for quick detach points at the bottom of the bag would have been nice (that can be custom added if you can find suitable straps/clips but 5.11 should have included it). Again, not a fan of the sling and I think the MOAB line would be far superior if offered with both sling and traditional backpack functionality (all-in-one). Simply make the straps completely detachable and have three anchor points at the top of the bag and two at the bottom. EZ-PZ. I have one gripe about the Right versus Left side sling options and that issue is that 5.11 put dual zippers on all but one area (the small pouch on the strap) making it far less easy to access depending on which shoulder you are slung over. Overall, the pack is a bit clumsy... even completely empty but it's cool if you're not going to trek long distances or expect to need to run comfortably if at all. Quality is good... in fact very good. I just wish this bag was a bit more customizable as far a strap options and the MOLLE. I think the strap pouch would be better if it was completely removable and integrated via MOLLE webbing so it could be adjusted along the strap or incorporated elsewhere on the pack or if it just wasn't there at all. We like options! Some MOLLE inside the secret stash pouch would be nice... I have several Kydex sheaths and holsters that can mount to MOLLE rather than having a knife/gun free floating in that pouch.... Not a huge negative but could be better. Generally, the MOLLE on this bag seems mostly for the look rather than the utility. I find my preference to be wearing this bag (and all bags) as high and tight on my back as possible which puts the MOAB 6 over one shoulder against my scapula rather than riding low against a kidney (and potentially my liver depending on which side I am rocking it)... Generally, I prefer not having things hanging loosely off of my body. I figured out a way to tighten and "quick release" the bag against my body but the manufactured system could be a bit better. I knew it wasn't exactly what I wanted but I bought one anyway because it met most of my needs.Cool Man Purse.

Having all the molle on them is nice but as I have tested and redone my entire pack multiple times now it just doesn't make sense. I use this bag every day for work. It may look small but has more than enough room for everything that I need every day. Great bag, would recommend to anyone looking for a compact go-bag. Sturdy and reliable.

So I love this bag. Huge step up from my PUSH Pack. It fits everything I could need on a daily basis and then some. For the tech pocket, I use it to carry my charging accessories like cables and plugin ports. The strap could use a revamp though, it keeps coming undone on me. Overall though, I like the bag and I can use it forever

The pack itself is great, quality construction, everything you would expect from the MOAB/Rush line. I received this bag yesterday and was excited to give it a quick test and had high hopes. Those were quickly dashed. The shape of the bag and harness system are in complete conflict with one another. Im 6-2, 230 with a longer torso, this particular sling bag didnt fit or ride well at all. It moved around, I was constantly fidgeting and adjusting it. I dont feel much thought was put into the carrying part of the design. I found the strap super annoying and was never able to get it fitted correctly. I have a MOAB Rush 10 which I feel fits and rides much better, this was meant to be a smaller version of that. I was never able to make it comfortable, get it adjusted, or felt like it was a good addition to my kit.As well, the CCW pocket fit both a G19 variant and G27 using a Raven Concealment holster I added Velcro to and stuck in the pouch. This solution worked very nicely. Initially, I tried a 5.11 Tac Holster and found it to be completely useless. Once the weapon was in the holster, the muzzle protruded from the end and the front sight snagged in the muzzle end of the holster. Actually, the holster completely prevented the weapon from being drawn. I will do a review on that item, but 0-1 star for it. Its dangerous and might get you killed.Overall, pretty disappointed, I had high hopes and will continue to search for a pack this size, with the same features, but thats comfortable and becomes part of you when you carry it.

I purchased this pack (Moab 6) as a downsizing from my Hazard4 Watson pack for I no longer am finding myself needing as much stuff as I did when I was still active. The smaller size of the pack is perfect coming in at 671 cubic inches compared to the Watson at 855 cubic inches. The pack it made of what seems to be 1000D Cordura which a very long-lasting material. The main vertical pocket has another horizontal pocket inside that I love. I store the items that I need to carry but dont use every day in there which helps with maintain a nicely organized compartment. The smaller secondary vertical pocket is also perfectly sized however, the pen pockets could use a little more depth. They dont even hold a typical BIC mechanical pencil by the pocket clip being fulling engaged before the pencil hits the bottom of the pocket. I know this may seem petty but if you cant even make a pen pocket properly what else is wrong with the pack. Well, I am glade you asked because the shoulder strap is a monstrously and 99.99% worthless. It is like they designed the entire pack and then realized that they forgot the strap and then just threw some webbing and a couple buckles at it and said yep, that will do. It attaches to a Fastex side squeeze buckle, with the female half of it being sewn to the short perma-padded portion of the shoulder strap with the tech pocket that is barely big enough to hold my Iphone5s and when I say barely I mean I have to stuff and zip and stuff some more and zip to get it in there. Not to mention that they say on the website Tech pocket at the shoulder." They need to say Tech pocket behind the shoulder that only a circus contortionist could reach while the pack is being worn. Now back to the actual strap. Forget about a field repair of the female Fastex side squeeze buckle because they have it sewn under this little flap that will make it almost impossible to replace unless that flap is somehow removed, meaning you will more than likely have to cut some of it away to get to the webbing that holds it in place. I am also concerned about the 1, maybe 2 hidden seams that actually connect it to the main pack. I carry 5-6 pounds of gear daily and it seems that it will mostly likely be the 1st point of failure. Continuing down the strap, the strap length adjustment is performed at the male portion of the Fastex side squeeze which for me anyway when only slung over one should sits perfectly on my shoulder so that the webbing doesnt pull straight off the buckle but at an angle so it will randomly and very often hits just that perfect angle and slowly lengthens. Now on this webbing is another worthless peace of crap webbing/shoulder pad that is attached to the webbing via 3 bands of hook and pile tape/Velcro and will never stay on your shoulder to provide padding. Within a couple steps it WILL begin to slowly slide down the strap and eventually will find itself no where near your shoulder providing any type of padding and you WILL take it off because it is crap. Do yourself a favor and google/yahoo/bing Moab 6 shoulder strap mods and see what comes up. By far the worst shoulder strap I have ever used. I would prefer the old school green ARMY duffle bag straps to this thing. I modified mine with an old ALICE pack strap and so far, it seems to be 100% better than the original. I am still working on the best way to attach it and as it sits, it is looking like I will be removing the Fastex side squeeze entirely to accommodate the ruck strap.

I bought this bag as a combination concealed carry (for when carrying on my body isn't possible or practical) and TECC bag, and it doesn't disappoint (well, with a couple of minor suggestions for 5.11 to make this even better).I was able to load out 2 Quick Clots packs, 2 compression gauze packs, 2 TQs, a chest seal and a spare mag all in the front pouch, with spare room in the second pouch for everything else.The zippered pocket on the back side of the pack fits a full-frame sidearm, easily fitting my Glock 17 (and then of course anything smaller). I will echo what I others have said about the "tech pocket" on the shoulder strap, and that is unless you have a flip phone or are carrying an old school iPod, it won't fit an actual smartphone. The two suggestions I'd like to make to better this pack would be: 1. For the back pouch (handgun pouch) line one side with Velcro, similar to the COVRT18 backpack. This would allow a Backup Belt holster to be mounted inside to keep smaller (compact or subcompact) sidearms from moving around, and allow for a more consistent draw position (versus the gun being "somewhere" in the pouch and having to dig around for it).2. Ditch the extra stitches in the pen pocket and make it a single pocket to allow it to hold a spare magazine.Aside from those 2 minor suggestions, this is a great, durable, and versatile pack for your EDC or special needs.

I own the MOAB 6, 10, and 12. All of the bags are well made and well designed. Each fits to a particular need or situation well. The only thing I do not understand is why 5.11 has not made the Tech Pocket on the 6 to fit a smart phone. The pocket on the 10 works just fine. Easy swap if someone carried to do so.

The tech pocket on the shoulder was designed to fit the times and the phone sizes during the 2010. Today's generation of phones will not fit in that tech pocket.I use the fleece lined sunglasses pocket for my phone and use a hard case to put my sunglasses in the main compartment.Would love to see the tech pocket meet the needs of the current and upcoming generation of phone sizes. For reference I use a Samsung S6 / Moto X4.

I have owned this bag for over a year and it's been through a lot. I use it every day for work. I needed something to carry my essential kit and personal stuff when not able to carry my large 5.11 wingman kitbag to places like hospitals or scenes. Carry anything from medical supplies, paperwork, packed lunch, electronics, sunglasses and contact lenses. I also use it as an EDC pack for my day to day and short hikes. I love everything about it. Perfect size and very customisable. Lots of pockets for many uses. Also great size for travelling on airlines where they allow a second small carry on bag. There are only two things I would improve on this bag. One being the way the water bag tube feeds out of the bag, I doesn't go through the inside of the bag but in between zippers on the compartment different to the Rush backpacks. Also would be nice to have a snap buckle on the bottom corners for quick release. It comes with the tier system which lets me attach the bag to my 5.11 RUSH 72 pack and works really well. I really recommend this bag, looks small but fits a lot of stuff and can carry heavy loads and still be comfortable. I highly recommend it. Great reliable kit again by 5.11!

I have to say this is the perfect bag for ccw EDC It's very well thought out every pocket is a nice surprise. very well made 5.11 must have some very good standards of manufacture . The hidden ccw pocket is more than enough for your compact 9 or 40 . I really can't say enough about this one and over the years I've purchased many other bags! I ride my bicycle to work everyday and I was just about to give up on this bag because it would always slide to the front of my body while cycling. Then I realized that the included tier straps could be used as a waist belt to stabilize the pack and keep it snug on my back by attaching two of them to the side molle and connecting them across my stomach. Since then I have loved this pack. It's small but you can really overload it when needed. I have stuffed it with a 6-pack and a sweater in the main compartment and had all my EDC things in the front admin pocket. It handles the rain nicely and has kept my stuff dry. I could not be happier with my purchase.

I ordered this as an everyday bag, and I both love it & hate it. The bag is very organized & can carry a lot, but it can get over-loaded and I find the strap awkward. It gets heavy enough that it really hurts my shoulder; I think you should have the option of being able to wear it on one shoulder rather than cross body. I would like to see a bag the size of the Moab 10 with two straps-make it a small backpack for everday use

I purchased the MOAB 6 from Sheares Technologies Pte Ltd, a 5.11 Authorised Dealer in Singapore. I can confirm that the MOAB 6 (Style #56963) comes with the Rush Tier System Straps which is packed in the back compartment. This makes it a better deal as you do not need to purchase the Rush Tier System Straps separately. The MOAB 6 sling bag is the perfect size for situations when a backpack is not practical to bring along. The interior design layout of the MOAB 6 almost the same as the RUSH12 backpack, just smaller in size. The size of the MOAB6 is similar to the size of the front Admin Panel of the RUSH12 backpack, although the dimensions differs. So yes, it looks square and boxy in shape when filled.The built quality is as good as any of the Rush backpacks, very solid and durable with quality stitching all around. The MOAB 6 can fit in a 27oz (800ml) Klean Kanteen bottle or a 32oz (1 Liter) Nalgene Water Bottle, a compact umbrella, etc... with plenty of room left.Highly recommended for a everyday carry sling bag.

I've taken this bag from the rain forest it Puerto Rico to the jungle of NYC and it has never failed me. This is a great way to expand your EDC and carry my G17. It is small enough that you can't really overload it and big enough to carry all the practical EDC you want and some tier 1 emergency gear. I love the hidden pistol compartment but wish it was a bit larger for my G17 and a spare mag. I make it work though. The bag shines when I slap it on my RUSH 12 Get-Home bag and truck them together down the road. They latch together quickly and it's a solid connection. Love the two as a system.

MOAB 6 sliding can be easily fixed by adding WOMEN'S 1.25" KELLA BELT or Athena 1.25 inch belt to the opposite lower buckle. I prefer the Athena belt, since it has the velcro secure attachment. Also, make sure to choose the correct waist size to accomodate for clothing, such as a jacket.

Picked up a sandstone 5.11 MOAB 6 at Academy and have used it now for about 6 weeks and it is outstanding. Holds all my range gear, including two full-size pistols. Extremely well made and durable. Will last me a very long time. I was skeptical about the carry strap after reading a few reviews, but it is outstanding to carry over one shoulder. Attached a small MOLLE bag to carry 250 rounds of 9mm and am extremely impressed with the zippers and just how much I can cram into this thing. Easily a 5-star bag.

I bought this bag at Gander Mtn last week and use it to carry my SLR camera, an extra lens and a small conceal carry revolver. This isn't too much weight but the strap configuration allows the bag to pull away from my back. Now perhaps I'm not rigging it properly. It would be helpful if the 3x3 cardboard tag attached to the new bag showed a little sketch of a human torso with the bag in the carry configuration. Otherwise, I really like the bag.

Water in a lite rain was inside the bag in less than 10 mins. The seams let water in and the Velcro area for the gun as shown in the video has no way to let water out. Additional, water that runs off the rest of the bag travels right into the gun area.

I originally was using a Moab 10 as my EDC. It tended to be to bulky in tight situations such as riding the subway/light rail or even the bus. I switched to a Moab 6 and realized that it took to getting use to having a smaller form factor bag sitting at the small of my back and the buckle digging into my shoulder. I learned how adjust the bag to sit in such a way to where there's mninimal discomfort. when loaded down with at least 9 pounds of gear it doesn't become a pain. but when it's lightly packed is when discomfort comes into play. I usually carry tech accessories and three 1 liter Camelbak Chute bottles (one within the main compartment, a Camelbak bottle pouch and the use of a single tier system strap from the outer pals webbing of the bottle pouch to the front webbing of the bag to hold the bottle against the pack while being held upright with a carabiner to the webbing right of the grab handle). My only gripe is when I bend over to pick up an object from the ground. The bag has tendency to slip off my and be right in front of me. If only a secondary strap where included like the 2 banger sling bag.

I use my MOAB 6 for hiking. I can carry a surprising amount of gear, food, water, small shelter, poncho etc. Very well thought out. It is bulletproof too. Play with the adjustment strap to get it just right for a comfortable sling. I put a heavy round key ring (auto) and a caribiner on the bottom of the pack and attached it to my belt in the back so as to reduce the sag....Whole different feeling. Very nice product.

I purchased this bag to be my 1 underseat storage item for airline flights. That and a Pelican wheeled carry on are all I use. I did I week in Vegas with this pack on my back. The ability to swing it around to the front of your body without removing it is this bag's killer app. It is arranged so you can get to all the pockets in this mode.Since then, it has graduated to my EDC holding my iPad, some tools, a bag of trail mix and two 50ml bottles of Maker's Mark and my CC in a very well hidden, soft lined pocket. It is very compact and very versatile.

I use this bag regularly to carry around town running errands or on day trips with my family. Only complaints are that the bag is not the most comfortable to carry as the weight distribution feels kind of awkward after an hour or so. Also, the concealed carry pouch is not large enough. A Glock 19 fits ok but anything larger than that you can forget about. Also, 5.11 added two pouches in the front admin pocket that will accept 30 rd AR mags, cool feature but I'm not carrying an AR with me around the mall. How about a couple pistol mag pouches? Getting the MOAB 10 next to carry a little more for longer trips out of town and concealing a full size pistol.

When I saw the Moab 6, one though came through my mind. Fly Fishing Sling Pack.I have a few bags and vest for Fly Fishing, but I wanted something smaller and easier to attach to my Backpack. Thus I bought a Moab 6.I spent almost the entire evening after work to organise my Fly Fishing tools, Bits & Bobs into the Bag. And I can say with success.However, and this is the reason for this very initial review, I can confirm a comment made by many 5.11 bags users, that 5.11 bags DO NOT seem to be made to carry heavy loads COMFORTABLY. The same goes for my Moab 10.I did not put all that many things inside, but when I wore the bag around my living room, I felt it was not as comfortable as I would have expected. Kinda hanging around. And that was not on the river walking over wobbly stones.I would still recommend it for it's quality and innovative approach. In fact I got a black one for a friend as well.

Absolutely brilliant EDC bag - so simple and yet so well thought out. I use two of the included compression straps on the front face molle points for strapping a jacket to the outside of the bag and carry the other two inside. Add a few carabiners and some paracord outside, load it up and go.As others have noted, a full frame pistol may not fit in the hidden compartment. My SR9c is pretty tight in there, but I rarely carry off body so it's not a significant issue for me and I appreciate having that additional option available.I worked crowd and traffic control at an all day athletic event in my first outing with this bag and I couldn't be happier with the results. I threw it over my shoulder, hopped on my mountain bike, and moved from one assignment to the next without giving it a second thought. I had everything I needed, easily in hand when I needed it.

I have been using this for about a year now and it has always been beside me. An ipad or a netbook fits in the main compartment and still offers a lot of extra room for other things. What I love about this bag is pocket where you can keep a compact handgun, I don't carry one everyday but it gives me a place to keep cash and other important things where no one would ever expect. Whenever I'm out, the sling design is really nice. I don't need to take off the bag, I can just swing it to my front so I could keep a good eye on it.

I recieved my MOAB 6 the day before i went on a week long camping trip. I was able to store more items than I could use and is quite comfortable to carry. I can use it to carry whatever I may need for everyday activities such as water, food, small or medium sized tools, compass and maps or GPS, binoculars. Its only drawback is it likes to bounce around when jogging or running and slides in the way when kneeling.

The main reason for this purchase was to extend the life of my backpack and it did that and more. I do not have the Rush 24 or 72 bag at all, my backpack still uses the Rush tier system effectively on it without any issues. My only complaint is that the tier system needs to be shorter for my bag and I have tested this on another Rush 24 bag and the MOAB 6 still hangs even though I tied it down to the shortest setting. I enjoy having the extra options of breaking off the MOAB 6 anytime and using it as a day pack and using it as an extension for bags. After having my backpack refurbished this extension gives me more packing space and can keep specific items always in reach for me. One improvement I can ask for is in the zippers to have locks on them. Always great stuff from 5.11

This is a great little bag. I love it have a lot of stuff in it and carry it every day. I have been using it for a little over a year now. I carry emergency food in it a small survival kit and a emergency poncho and a survival bivy. I use the very back pocket for my first aid. It will also hold an iPad 2 in it. There are a few things though I think could be improved upon. The little shoulder pad slides up and down the strap and you always have to adjust it when you go to put it back on. The other thing is that the pockets on the inside of the main pouch and the admin pouch if full will hinder the use of the hidden weapon pouch. I also wish the weapons pouch was a tad bigger to fit a 4" weapon in it better. It is great for a smaller 3" something. But this bag is a great made bag. Well constructed and strong.

I purchased the MOAB 6 as an alternative to a CCW purse I own. I have found the MOAB extremely versatile for daily use. I can carry alot of useful items without feeling overloaded like with larger packs and purses. It is a great compromise between size and function. Not too big, not too small. JUST RIGHT!I don't carry alot of typical foo-foo items. Only some chapstick and lipstick. I do carry a screwdriver set, small adjustable wrench, butane lighter, small first aid kit, paracord, small pocket for my licenses and insurance, atm card. I also carry items I typically sue for work such as a small mp3 player and headphones, I carry a small knife and utility folder as well as a weapon at times (not at work) either as a primary carry or for a backup weapon when I am carrying on my body (which I prefer as primary). I find this bag extremely easy to use as well and have used it as suggested by having it cross body and just spinning it so the pack is in front of me. I do this when I am checking out at a store and the like or when I need something out of the bag when out and about.

I just recently ordered the 5.11 MOAB 6 and I've had it on a few hikes. It's an ideal size for a day pack, and is very comfortable. I wear it on my left side, and it stays snug against my back just above my belt line. There is very little movement of the pack as I'm walking or turning on the trail. I was using a Maxpedition Sitka Gearslinger before (which I like very much), but it was more pack than I needed for just a day in the woods. In the photos you can see I added the Tier System connections that came with it, plus a couple of paracord loops with roundcord locks. I drape my rain jacket over the top and sides of the pack, then tie it down with the straps and paracord. A 32 oz Nalgene bottle fits nicely inside, with room for my EDC organizer and first aid kit. This is a great pack for everyday carry. The lay out of the storage pockets allows this resonably small bag to handle a multitude of items. I was pleasantly surprised that after loading it with a compact survival kit, tactical medical bag, spare mags, gloves, flashlight, and several other items, It still has room to add a few more goodies! The pack also appears to be well built and should hold up to rigorous use.

I've been looking for something to help with conceal carry during those months when long pants and bulky shirts wont do. This is it. For camping, biking, and bumming around in shorts, this bag fills the need. Quality is there, believe it. It will hold a full frame H&K with the TacTec holster, but pouch will be full. TacTech holster is a MUST! I can set it on the floor board of my truck and it fits right in. Sholder strap is comfortable and very much adjustable. I like the bag with the exception of the "admin" pouch, which they put on every bag they make. Other than that its a great blow out bag! Plan on putting a double Kangaroo pouch on it and some extra ammo then she will be ready to roll.

too small to hold a colt 1911. Have to use smaller firearm. It would hold a 1911 if you just moved the velcro higher up near the opening. Excellent quality. Bought my wife one also. Lots of pockets for a varity of items

I switched from a Kodiak Gear Slinger to this due to it's smaller size. I went from just a work bag to a full everyday carry bag. This works great for daily work carry as well as weekends doing whatever comes up. I always have what I need to get through the day at hand.

Excellent day pack. I always needed a small pack to carry hat, sunscreen, camera, accessories, flashlight,along with pens and paper, cards and even extra batteries. An added bonus is rip open storage for my concealed carry weapon.

I love this bag. I work in an office in Center City and walk 2 miles thru the city every day. I would carry no less than 3 bags on a given day. My purse, my lunch and the third bag containing my water bottle, book, and then multiple smaller bags with an assortment of "needed" items. My husband would count my bags every morning and joke that I needed a tactical bag. His 511 catalog came and I took him up on his offer. I chose the grey- as I like the dark gray- and the color name in particular "double tap". I truly love this bag- it holds EVERYTHING with room to spare. I load it up with all I can, it can get pretty heavy, but once it's strapped on my back, I hardly notice it. I love that my hands are free- for my phone and/or pepper spray. All of the different zippered compartments and pouches are great, I am quickly getting used to which pouch contains which item. I don't know why I waited so long to pick one out- but I am LOVING the Moab!

The Moab 6 is not a effective means of carrying a full size semi auto. Given the large size of the bag it is surprising that the concealed carry pocket is too shallow for a Glock 17. The CC pocket is closed via two small velcro strips which are completely inadequate for securing the gun. I can't imagine the gun staying in place during any physical activity. The CC pocket is on the outside of the bag where the weapon's weight makes the bag sag in an unwieldy manner alerting anyone paying attention that something heavy (like a weapon) is being carried. Almost all my gear is 511, and I give the Moab 5 stars for general use, but I won't be carrying my weapon in it.

Very handy to carry and use. Pockets with zippers are easy to access, but the best is the hook-and-loop closure pocket in the center. Quickly get to anything you have in there. Great design!

I downsized from a Maxpedition Kodiak because I wanted a smaller EDC, the MOAB 6 was a perfect choice, it's small enouguh that it truly is an EDC bag which goes everywhere yet big enough to carry what I need. I can even carry a full size IPAD in the main compartment. I added a water bottle holder on one side and a small pouch on the other to expand to my needs but the size is still perfect. My MOAB 6 goes to work everyday with me and holds everything I need to get through a day as an IT guy plus enough to get me through longer than that if needed. It also works great when doing my volunteer time at the EMS station. I love this bag and would buy another if necessary.

I bought this to use as a bail out bag. I equipped it with a 4 mag pouch on the front. Inside there is room for a bottle of water and some snacks. I also carry several israeli bandages and two tourniquets. I carried it on the range during rifle quals and training. With the added weight it flopped around a bit and the strap cut into my neck, but this was somewhat expected.

Too many companies forget about pistol shooters, and this bag comes darned close to everything I want without looking like a glorified purse with AR15 pouches, and my gear clanking around. The quality is solid, and with this bag, 5.11 clearly respects your gear without being snug.Wandering around the desert facility I can swap shoulders and shoot ambidexterous without having to put the bag down. I can swing it around and reload my mags without worrying about dropping anything and I can still go to the indoor range without looking like a goober.For cons, it is a bit small on bigger guys, but you are not wasting space. Add-on pistol mag pouches are sometimes hard to get on the webbing and if you toss your bag in the car, they may pop loose. Add-ons do NOT match the sandstone, eg: dark earth.Overall I will say I am very pleased.

An excellent size for carrying a few critical items easily.I would suggest reversing the back pocket zippers to close when pulled up from their respective corners, rather than open. This would allow the shoulder strap to be stuffed inside, out of the way, and be 90% enclosed.

I tried several different purses and couldn't find anything that held everything I need for off duty life, plus a gun and extra magazines. This bag has been a life saver. It holds everything I need, and has several places I can keep my off duty weapon where I can access it easily and not scare people when I open my purse to pay for merchandise in a store. Has a Paramedic I know which will work and the one wont work I had my doubts when I saw it cause I know it was made more plain clothes Police uses, so I bought and begun to put stuff in there I have from IV's Cath's, my steto, my BP cuff, control bleeding materials notepads, Glucose meter, some pain meds via oral torniquets and still have more space available its great I know wasant made for this but the demand exceds the request so i was able to make enough things so when I get off the ambulance I dont need to take the ALS 2900 5.11 bag unless I do need heavy meds etc etc etc this good has work for me so far

I used this bag during Veteransday(out all day), bike ride(away from home), a small hike (20-30km), day trip to a different city.During these times unfortunatly it always rained..and still everything was dry inside..even my phone in the tech pocket on the shoulder strap. Easy to slide over from the back to the front to take something out of it. I LOVE the amount of pockets it has.With the tiersystem I attached it to the Messenger back i have...and its very handy !On my Velcro it has my country its flag. I could not get the black version of it but the colour I got now is not too bad at all.Another job well done 5.11 !!

I like this bag, it serves it purpose and being a 5.11 product I know it will be a lasting product. My two disappointments are 1) No strap on the bottom of the bag for a jacket or similar item like the MOAB 10 has. 2) This was my biggest disappointment, its advertised to be able to conceal a full frame pistol, this was my major selling point, just to find out that my Beretta 92 is too big for the "hidden Pouch" my purpose for this bag to give me the ability to off-body carry for my job and returning it will cost me too much time and money(return shipping). This is the reason for only three stars, I would have otherwise given it 5 stars.

I work it the construction and service industry and this is a perfect bag that can be attached to a much larger bag. It is great when used when being away from your truck for a short period. I have a larger bag where I keep a change of clothes, fireproof coveralls, cold gear during the winter, food, 2 100oz camelbaks and a first aid kit. As you can imagine all that stuff is not light especially when you never use most of it. I got this bag for 2 reasons: 1) because of the hydration pouch and 2) because of it detachment capability. It's a great go bag I keep a 50oz camelbak, a small first aid kit, spam singles, a spare set of sunglasses and a few other essentials. I keep this bag with me because it's light enough not to be noticed. There are a few flaws: 1) the hydration pouch barely fits a 50oz camelbak. 2) there is not a hole to run your hydration tube through. 3) the ccw pocket is too small for my 9mm beretta. This bag would be perfect in my eyes if it were only 1-2 inches taller that would solve my two main issues with the bag which are small hydration pouch and small ccw pocket

Purchased to carry handheld amateur radio gear. Would also work as an adequate CCW option. Shoulder pad would benefit from a more generous use of grippy stuff so it doesn't slide off the shoulder.

I bought the MOAB 6 as an answer to the increasing amount of stuff that I have to carry around the hospital and as a grab bag for day use. I went for the 6 as opposed to the 10 simply because I didn't think I needed that much space and I wanted a bag I could easily TIER to my RUSH 24. The main compartment of the bag is pretty roomy and much like all the 5.11 bags it opens all the way in a clam shell design. There is a stuff pouch to the rear and a mesh and solid pouch to the front. This main compartment is big enough for an iPad, Nalgene, reference book or an SLR camera with flash gun. Sufficed to say there is plenty of room. The second compartment is much like the organiser compartments of the larger RUSH bags, making it easy to store those fiddly little things you need to hold onto (flashlight, pen, leatherman etc.).There are two more quick access pouches, one between the main compartments and the second to the rear of the bag; these both have their uses including the designed use of holding a 9mm secondary! Additionally there is a smaller pouch at the top of the shoulder strap which holds a cell phone or set of keys in a useful quick access location. (There is an elastic strap on the inside to hold any valuables securely).The shoulder strap itself is lightweight but strong and has a padded section which makes it comfortable which is so important in a single strap bag, especially if you're wearing it for long periods of time.Key points; Large capacity for such a small bag, Well thought out storage options, Comfortable and secure for a single strap.Bottom line, if your looking for a grab bag that holds just enough for your daily needs but still looks the business then you will not be disappointed, if you happen to own any of the RUSH bags or the new All Hazard Prime then why do you not already own the MOAByou will seriously not regret it, its like owning an RV with a convertible strapped to the roof!User hint: Always keep the zips for the main compartment on the side uppermost when you sling it forward, that way when you open it up the contents wont go spilling everywhere. This will make sense if you own the bag

This the a great bag that I highly recommend...and I actually ordered the Mab 10 too, in order to combine both.I use the bag for work and leisure, especially when I don't have to carry binders or a laptop.For me the most important fact is, that you can fit a iPad2 with and Otter cover in the main compartment. And if you have too, you can even get the iPad inserted in the 5.11 iPad cover into the Moab 6...but just about so. If the hydradtion bladder compartment would be a tad bigger...the iPad would even it in there. Looking at these bags from a tactical point of view is of course what that is all about, but many use thoses back for every-day tasks, so keeping thoses things in mind makes this gear even more versatile.BTW, the color "tap" is great, I hope you use it for other stuff too.

I am extremely happy with my purchase of the MOAB 6 bag. I was looking for a small bag to keep personal belongings when going on trips and to take to work. I keep my wallet, camera, flashlight, XM radio, pens, glasses, knife, water bottle, and other accessories in the bag at all times. I also us it for CCW carry. The hidden gun pocket conceals a Ruger LCP and Glock 26 VERY well. The numerous pockets also keeps extra magazines if needed. I am not a police officer or in the military but I still LOVE this bag.

Carry it daily, works perfect with the back up belt system. Doesn't attract to much attention, stylish and most importantly works well. Being left handed it is harder to come by concealed carry backs that have zippers that are designed for right handed people. This bag eliminates that problem, good job 5.11

I carry this bag every where i go and one day while in a bad neighborhood a shoot out took place i ran towards my car to leave and swung my MOAB6 bag around to my chest to get my keys when i was struck by a .357 round to the chest but because i had that armor plate in back of the bag it saved my life having that back pocket to put a small armor chest plate there was great thinking on 5.11 so i say to all who buy this bag if you are police or military this is a great bag to have with a armor chest plate in the back of it just in case trouble jumps off I have replaced it and got another one for my wife who is a medic in the army it is a great EDC Bag for life and everyday living Thanks 5.11

I recieved the bag 5 months ago as a birthday present. I use it on a daily base to carry around all the goodies I need for my job as a newsman/ war correspondent. I had a few bags over the years... but none of them showed such an outstanding performance and construction.

I use the bag when I go to work, carrying my lunch as well as documentation and training gear. It can really carry a lot of stuff, more than you would imagine at first sight, divided over all the internal/external pockets. The Backup Belt System allows me to use the bag at work in covert jobs or in addition to my regular patrol bag, although the BBS-pocket is half an inch too small for fitting a Glock17 w. tactical light. And let's not forget the fleece-lined pocket for sunglasses, you guys really thought of everything!

After purchasing the Rush Messenger bag I realized I was looking for something I could carry a little more often. This bag is great for that, due to it's size I don't end up leaving it in the truck when I go into a grocery store or at events. Can't say enough about the quality and my 5.11 Tactical iPad Case fits snuggly in the main compartment and still holds all my other EDC items.

I use this little pack when not going to work. Lets me carry my personal items. i.e. cameras, GPS, etc. There is plenty of places to keep things organized and safe. One thing that may surprise folks is that the front organization area has a pocket that can easily accept an iPad air with a smart cover. It is well constructed, and durable. Once it has been in use a while the fabric around the zippers softens and the zippers become easier to open. It is a great bag. Comes with the Rush tier system in the color of the bag and I've already used it to attach this bag to my Rush backpack. Worked like a charm and is very secure.

I use this for EDC. The CC pocket is almost too small for my G23. It limits the amount of stuff that you can put in the other pockets because of G23, and hard to get my proper grip on G23. Guess that's an excuse to get another CC gun :) The inside pockets are too loose like others have stated. I really love the bag and the color (sandstone). It is comfortable to carry all day long and I do.

Nice Bag. It is actually more rectangular horizontally than it appears in picture. 6 hours is definitely all you'll get out of this size. I was unsure about whether to get this or the 10 for short day trips or for a bag to bring into the work place with "necessities" and a lunch. This just fits the bill. I may keep this for other use and go with the 10 for extra room. My only complaint is the inside pockets are all soft. So knives or anything with weight are not held securely inside the slotted pockets.

I like to carry a lot of things with me when I go somewhere in my truck. This bag keeps everything well organized. I use it to carry all of my paracord bracelet tools when I am making them somewhere besides home. While in the woods I can have everything I need to do my scouting. Works great when I am on my four wheeler

I have used this bag for about 1 year now. I am a Detective, and as such I cant carry all the gear I could when I was in uniform. This MOAB is set up as my "go bag" in my unmarked cruiser. If there is a trouble call I can sling this over my suit and I have instant access to extra mags for my pistol, and for the AR-15. I also have 15 extra shells for the 870 as well. I have a first aid kit, and other important gear.

I own this bag now for 3 weeks, and I'm verty pleased with it. I use it to go to work, when I don't need to carry binders or a laptop. The most important feature for me is, that it holds an iPad2 with an Otter Hybrid Case, and even when you wrap the iPad into the 5.11 priotection sleeve, it fits, even if you have to wrestle it in. I bought on of the collabsible pouches 5.11 sells, IOT carry an extra bottle if necessary. What I like much better with 5.11 then with MAXPedition is the fact that the material is not stiff, so when empty you can put the bag in your suitcase when you travel. It doen't take up much space.If 5.11 ever does a Moab 6+, I would recommend, that the pocket in the back, where you are suposed to put in your hydration stuff, should be enlarged so it can carry an iPad in a case.I think it's a great pack and I would higly recommend it...

Even though I own an e-commerce company and know how important customer reviews are to online retailers, I rarely write them. However, I was compelled to take the time to write a review of this product and of 5.11 Tactical in general because their products are nothing short of amazing. I bought this pack to replace a small day pack style backpack I use to take with me varmint hunting. I keep it in my truck and it has everthing I need to go varmint hunting so I can just grab my rifle and go when I have some free time. There was nothing special about the daypack I was using and it worked ok but wasn't ideal because every time I needed to get something out of the back I had to take my rifle sling off my shoulder, put it on ground, take off the back pack and then open it and get what I needed. I saw this when I came back to buy more of their Taclite Pro pants (which are also outstanding) and saw that one of the features of the design was that it could be easily slung around to your front so you can access the pack without removing it. It seemed to be tbe perfect size and had everything else I needed so I bought it. I had already purchased the Rush 72 back pack so when this pack arrived I was not surprised to find it was made of high quality materials, well-designed and well made. I was happy. I transferred all my gear from my old pack to this one and threw it in my truck. Today I went hunting with it for the first time. When I put it on it was a little too tight to easily sling around so I took it off to loosen the strap. I had just bought a brand name adjustable sling for my rifle which is horrible because the design does not deal with tbe excess or loose strap based on various adjustments. When I started to adjust the sling on my new Moab pack I noticed it had several velcro straps that had to be undone which are designed to keep the loose or excess strap out of the eay and tight to the back. I also noticed there was a movable, stretchable sleeve to also keep any excess neatly managed and out of the way. It seems like a small thing but it blew my mind how well thought out the design is. And its not just that feature, the whole pack is the same way. Every detail was thought of and intelligently implemented into the pack. This has essentially been my experience with all 6 different items I have now purchased from these guys.

This bag is now my everyday carry bag: keep my wallet, phone, keys, girlie things, and my LCR at the ready. Everything has its place. Great for bike trips too.Shoulder strap is sort of uncomfortable as I'm little and had to adjust it to the smallest possible size. The buckle sits right on my bony shoulder and kind of rubs. Size is perfect for my frame. Glad I didn't go bigger with the MOAB 10.Barely fits my full size M&P in the carry pocket; the velcro doesn't fully close if I've statshed everything else I need throughout the bag.Plan on using this bag at the range as a supplement to my bigger range bags I take with me. Can switch out accessories as needed depending on which gun I'm shooting. Get the holster pouch for smaller pistols if you plan on carrying and the H2O carrier if you cycle. You won't regret it.
