Big brother to my Rush 12. nnI wanted a pack big enough for winter clothing and whatnot. nnI can't imagine why other pack makers don't make a clone of the Rush packs.nnThe only flaw in the Rush series is that the Moab 8 is a sling pack. Put thin shoulder straps on it, I'll buy at least one. Visit the Clue Store, guys!

I've had a bigger version of this bag since 2011 when I was in the military. My wife loved it so much so I bought her this one and she is in love with it for her everyday bag for work. Probably going to have to have to get her another one for her Range/Go bag.

I have had this bag on multiple deployments and regular civilian/military use over the last 18 years!! I purchased this bag in 2008. Even with all that use, I have no issues or complaints with the bag!!!

I have not had long enough for a good review but first impressions are great, looks and feels quality
RaspundeNicholas S.,
Use it to carry all my fish finder heads to and from the boat.
RaspundeAdeline K.,
Love it have started taking it on hikes already
RaspundeMichael G.,
I sent it back. My work equipment did not fit well in it. The way I wanted it too
RaspundeJonathan D.,
I'm not a fan of the "tacticool" look with all the molle webbing, nevertheless this is the most functional and complete bag I've ever had and the build quality is unrivaled. Not a light weight bag by any stretch, but that heavy duty design makese confident I'll still be using this bag in a decade.

Juan,
Pack has exceeded my expectations. Been able to pack everything i have needed to go camping/hiking. With room to spare, i was able to upgrade my first aid kit to include an IFAK kit.
RaspundeJeff,

RaspundeJeff,

RaspundeJohn,
Overall good bag. Used for about 2 years and through several different countries/deployments.nAfter 2 years - the main compartment zipper has split and no longer works.

Christopher,
I bought this bag a month ago. It wasn't what I was expecting. It was more. I had to leave fork training for a week. My main concern was room for my clothes, laptop, and gear. I had plenty of room and more. Good carry on bag. Straps on the side too flatten and fit in compartment . I have room for personal and work laptop. Very durable for the field. I recommended this bag to my son. He like it.
Raspundetimothy w.,
Bought my R72 bag about 3-4 yrs ago. Tough as hell, mine survived JRTC, NTC and numerous other field excursions. Great for carrying alot of stuff. Loaded with MOLLIE but truthfully with all the space inside your not likely going to mount additional pouches ect on it, esp since it has 2 large side pouches built into it and a LARGE admin pouch on the back. It is on the heavy side when fully loaded, so i wouldn't suggest it as a patrol type bag. Get either R12 or R24 for that purpose. But for a long trip/mission out in the bush, this bag is about as good as your going to get.

Jt,
Got my R72 at the colorado springs store and it is BOMB PROOF. Full stop, this is the top of the mountain for a 3 day pack, I noticed the multicam pack is softer and for sound suppression that's good but for my purposes the ranger green one I got is perfect. Of course the 5. 11 staff was the gold standard in professional. I will always go to 5. 11 for my duty gear and my off duty gear.

Anonymous,
Used it in combat missions in Ukraine as a drone crew member. Soon other people in my unit bought it too. Fits 20L gasoline canister or Ecoflow Delta/ Delta 2 Max (well, with the last you cant completely zip it but anyway did not have to carry in my hands). Not sure if designed for those kind of stuff but played out amazingly well. Thank you!

Sandra J.,
The quality of this backpack is unmatchable. So many compartments for everything you could think of. The only downside is its on the heavier side for me but i hardly think thats a reason not to invest. It literally will be the last backpack I will need to buy.
RaspundeAkinlawon F.,
I bought this bag as a possible carry-on and it has done nothing but impress me multiple times over!!! I was able to fit 6 outfits ( including 3 Sweatsuits, 2 pairs of Jeans and a few tshirts), 6 pairs of underwear, 6 undershirts, 5 pairs of socks, All Toiletries, phone chargers, . . . . and everything fit perfectly. nPerfect for a Carryon or weekend bag. I would recommend this bag to ANY and EVERYONE!!!
RaspundeKellen B.,
Its a great backpack. Ive had one for a few years, and I routinely fill its volume to max. My only grievances are:nn1. One of the cords connected to a zippers slider eventually wore down enough that it slid out of the zipper slider.n2. The zipper on the hidden compartment that sits against the users back was too small and weak, and the zipper rails eventually broke with use.nnOther than those 2 problems, its the best medium-sized backpack Ive owned. If I had the option, I wouldve rated it 4. 5 stars.
RaspundeMatt G.,
Got this to have a single pack to deal with. Plenty large for my 17 computer, covered clip board, writing and office tools along with work clothes/boots in the morning and gym clothes in the evening. Side pouches are great for keeping sweaty workout clothes away from paper in main compartment.
RaspundeBrian G.,
Great pack with a lot of features built in. Great purchase at a great price.
RaspundeTellez,
I love 5. 11 i swear by the clothes boots belts even bags up until this point. I feel like the 2. 0 is cheaply made with the feel and the type of material used to make the bag. And the plastic clips for the bag are by far the worse design flaw of this bag go back to originally design when you bought a high quality item that was designed to take a beating and keep on going just like the men and woman who buy 5. 11 expecting the company to appreciate them

RaspundeLuke,
So I bought one of these in May 2022 and the belt plastic clip broke a few months in. I had just tucked it away for a while to go see if I can get a replacement clip.nnWent to the store and the store basically refused to help. Wether it be identify what I could buy to fix, or point me in a direction to help.nnDisappointed overall. I talked to an employee and store manager.nnPack is great but the plastic might have consistency issues that the lifetime warranty does not appear to cover. Do better 5.11

This is my 2nd ruck from 5.11. Nothing wrong with the first one, but needed a black one. This bad boy is great! Very comfortable on. Love the built in hip built. 5.11 is quality stuff.
RaspundePete,
There are numerous deficiencies with this 2.0 backpack compared to the old Rush 72, where I cannot recommend it as a replacement. It is not really a difference in features as some of the problems are plainly cost-cutting measures.nn1. Cheaper materials (lighter zippers, stiffer plasticky fabric, no interior waterproofing).n2. The three drainage holes are gone.n3. Skid pads to hold pack against your back are gone.n4. Buckles are scratchier and lighter.n5. The admin pouch is missing 4 of the mag holder pouches with the Velcro. There is more than enough room to fit them in, but theyre gone anyways.n6. The small upper compartment is missing a storage flap compared to the older pack.n7. Pack itself creaks under weight more.nnThe old pack was good. This just isnt up to par.

Picked up this pack a couple of years ago and finally got around to using it for camping this year. The concept is great with many storage options and easy access to frequently used items. It fails to keep even a light rain out of any of the compartments and if you have anything that needs to stay dry, keep it in a dry bag!

It's built very durable. Great secure heavy duty zippers. Great stitching. The fit is amazing. Great padding gives it an easy comfortable feel. There are pockets for everything.
RaspundeTheresa a.,
Got this for my husband for his birthday. He has been wanting one for a long time to replace his old hunting pack. He was finally able to use it. He like all the pockets still finding them all. I think I see one for myself in the near future
RaspundeTerrance,
I got this backpack as gift back in February of this it worked great up until a few weeks ago I put a 20 lb bag of wood pellets in it plus maybe 5 lbs of groceries walked less than a mile back to my house and noticed the shoulder straps starting to rip on both sides but more on the left side I had even Adjust the backpack to fit properly before using. it very disappointed
Raspundejon,
In 2013 I got mine. Lots of rugged use with this thing, and I am so happy I have. I had other, cheaper versions of this bag and they always tore. The 72 has lots of pockets, so much so I forget that I have items in some of them until years later I find something is in there. I plan on getting a smaller one, maybe the 24 rush because of how large this bag is.
RaspundePedro,
The best bag I've ever had, the 1000D nylon is incredible. I had a 600D before from another brand and started ripping after 6 months of use, my rush 72 2.0 is one year old and looking brand new. I'm hoping it gets to the 15 years as I read here before. Greetings from Brazil!
RaspundeSCOTT M.,
As usual, great product. I completely wore out my first 72 hour RUSH bag after 17 years of use.
RaspundeGraham,
I have had my rush 72 for 8 1/2 years, I've used it as a go bag during hurricane season, hiking back pack, carry on on flights and honestly it's held up really well! The only issue I'm having is that the shoulder straps are fraying and I can now stick my finger Ina hole on each side of the yoke. Overall though I'm really happy with this bag.
RaspundeEugene,
Does anyone know if the rush 72 2.0 can be used as a carry on

I adore this bag, received it as a Christmas gift two years prior to enlisting in the army. It's become my trusty companion for daily use and has proven invaluable during air travel, enabling me to even bring along an entire mid-sized desktop system as carry-on luggage. This bag has been through countless adventures with me, and I wholeheartedly endorse it.
RaspundeJohn O.,
I bought this for an overseas trip planned next year. It was recommended in Pew-Pew's article on bug-out bags. Has lots of room, feels good on my shoulders and looks pretty sturdy.
RaspundeDylan,
Very well made, durable backpack. Similar materials to my assault bag I had in the infantry. It feels very comfy on my shoulders. I am 6ft 270lbs, broad chest. Only thing I wish was done differently is the waist straps (that I dont typically use, never have) cant be cinched up and out of the way like my assault bag used to be able to do.
Raspundejames,
I wrote a review earlier about this pack about zippers hanging and belt screeching, and straps hard to compress and only took off 1 star. What I didn't realize is that these packs are made for shorter people anywhere from 5'9'' and shorter. I didn't realize this until I got the pack and the chest strap was pre set on the 2nd spot from the top and after putting the pack on found it in my throat and I am 6' tall. After having to lower it all the way down to the last spot just to get it at the spot it should be on my chest and tightening waist belt and side tension straps and watching videos on this pack I then realized it is not made for people probably 5'9'' or taller and is absolutely the most uncomfortable pack I have ever bought as there is just no way to take the load off your shoulders and I am currently seeking a refund on Amazon. This bag is so rock solid though you could probably hit it with a semi and it would hold up but durability doesn't mean much if you don't want to use it because your shoulders will be miserable if you do. Just wish they would let buyers no that these bags are made for shorter people and not everyone and that 1 size basically fits all because it doesn't.
Raspundekerrie,
The bag itself seems to be made of very durable nylon. One thing I noticed is that the zippers are a little sub par for this bag [they hang a lot and seem kind of weak with small pulls.] Took 1 star off because i feel zippers are a very important durable piece of gear for backpacks. The other issue I noticed right away is how hard is it to compress the bag straps and tighten the waist belt. I would rather pull out to tighten the belt then to pull sideways as it would be much easier and to get a little tighter draw around waist and also have a tuck spot for extra belt when tightened. The netting needs to come up a couple inches higher on the stuff coat or stuff helmet area to help hold anything in easier and there are a couple pockets that would of been better off not there at all: as they just block the lid or flap when trying to zip shut due to bulging. A very solid well made bag though but just needs a few tweaks here and there. Well worth the money and way cheaper then many other more expensive bags and probably made way much better. With cordura nylon comes weight, but quality and durability as it is heavy at 5.2 pounds empty. I can sacrifice a little weight for quality any day though.
Raspundemichael o.,
Very ruggedly made.nVery durable feelin nylon.nStrong seams, gussets, zippers, snaps.nA lot of different pockets.
RaspundeMichael L.,
Love the storage in the bag. Love the concealed carry pouch. I cam carry so much stuff in this back and really comfortable to carry all day.
RaspundeDema H.,
I can say enough good things about this bag. It dosent quit. Room for everything. The side pockets are big enough to hold a 2 liter bottle of pop easy. This is the way. Just buy it.

I was a little frustrated with all the compartments in this bag when it first arrived.until I started loading it. Then I realized every zipper and size of pocket was well thought out. It fits a LOT of stuff. Its a great bag if youre looking for a high level of storage, organization, and usability in a backpack. Its comfortable to wear and carry too. Excellent quality. Im thinking of buying the mid tier bag too for when I dont need as much stuff with me.
RaspundeCody,
I bought the rush 72 and was very excited to own a 5.11 product. However on the first day of use the front pocket zipper snagged and broke off without me even knowing. This caused the pouch to open and dump all the loose contents. Needless to say I'm very disappointed with this. I will give the quality of the zipper credit as it does still work, but for how long.
RaspundeSteven G.,
The quality of the pack is outstanding. The compartments are well thought out. I expect many years of service from this bag.
RaspundeThomas K.,

Rugged, versatile, designed and made for operators and anyone else who must have functional and reliable kit under all types of conditions and circumstances. Strongly recommend this product!
RaspundeNicholas N.,
Great build feels amazing to wear fits everything I have tried to put in it
RaspundeT.Mak,
1. The CCW is not necessary as it is on your back. n2. Shove it pocket should on rush 12 and 24 instead of the CCW. n3. The Small pockets inside the side compartments and the 2 vertical pockets are all gone in place of the CCW. nThe quality is still there. Just the features are gone. Still 4 stars to me.
RaspundeJordan,
Had the original and some pile of shit stole it. Broke down and bought the 2.0. They added two token features and stripped out 20-25% of the previous models compartments and zippered access points. Extremely disappointing. Will be returning.

I bought this bag for work on the ambulance and for school it has more than enough space for books, iPad and laptop. Its built well for the abuse of being crammed into any space on the we. Its comfortable to wear..100% recommend.
RaspundeDavid H.,
Big roomy lot of pockets if your not careful you'll over load it.
RaspundeAndrew D.,
The pocket lay out is perfect for a 3 day bag. Love the ease of accessibility and the full zip down main pocket so you don't have to empty they top of the bag everytime to get the item you put on the bottom.
RaspundeYoussef W.,
This pack is awesome! I bought it because I needed a bag for school that can double as a rucksack. This pack is awesome for that. I can fit a 35lb plate in the laptop sleeve and still have plenty of room for all my books. The quality is incredible. Very durable. This is such an upgrade from my previous pack!
RaspundeJohn T.,
I have not used it yet due to winter weather but look forward to doing so. My observations so far are that it is very well designed and made. The only improvement I would make would be to eliminate the open pouch in front and make it another expandable pocket.
RaspundeErik C.,
Its an incredible backpack. I have waited a long time to be able to get one of these backpacks. It was totally worth it. The craftsmanship of the backpack and the quality of the backpack are second to none. The zippers are YKK and are top of the line. Very happy with the purchase.
RaspundeKent C.,
Very large bag. It is a work bag. Can fit all my needs in this one bag. Thats a change of clothes. Extra layers. Sneakers. Laptop. And more. Bag is setup how a bag like this should be setup. Access to all compartments is easy and fast. The quality of this bag is great. The shoulder straps should not rip at the seams for years. There is a ton of molle attachment points. For the abuse this bag will get from job. It should hold up for years. I upgraded from a Marmot that was about the same size. Thats a good bag. But this bag out does it by a long shot.
RaspundeRandall H.,
I like almost every thing about it. Shoulder straps are comfortable, although not particularly easy to adjust.nnPack has plenty of room for everything I need to carry.nnCons would be neither the waist band nor the shoulder straps are removable or stowable, which would be a real plus when using commercial transportation
RaspundeDEREK B.,
The straps are very uncomfortable on my shoulders when it is weighted down. My old Swiss army backpack was triple as comfortable carrying the same weight. I regret my purchase or wish I would have bought a different model.
RaspundeAC,
I have a previous generation 5.11 Rush 72, and I noticed they removed several pockets. For example, in the admin pocket, there were two pockets on the flap portion that are not present in the 2.0. There were also smaller pockets within the long side pouches that are now gone. I love 5.11 products, but it sucks that they removed storage options in the 2.0. The pack is otherwise excellent and extremely well thought out. My previous generation pack is still going strong after many years.
RaspundeErik D.,
Great quality product that fits my needs perfectly. Extremely happy that I purchased this bag. Had some glitches ordering it but 5.11 customer service was excellent in helping me out.

RaspundeTMak,
I have the version 1.0 of the rush 72 pack. It is the same quality as the 2.0 version. However, all the internal pouches are gone in the 2.0 version. Plus, there is only one key chain loop instead of 2 in the 1.0. So, I am taking a whole star off from this version. BTW I bought a rush 24 instead.
Raspundestephen b.,

If you are on the the fence for other brands of backpacks or any bags at all just go ahead and pull the trigger on this one. I bet you won't be sorry.
RaspundeShawn,
Great pack with a lot of storage. Good padding on the shoulder/waist belt. I wish I would have bought this pack sooner.
RaspundeShawn S.,
I bought this 6 months ago and have had it completely filled with 40-70lbs of stuff in it at all times since purchase, There is no sign of it giving up. Ive took it on several moderate hikes and its super comfortable and really makes carrying weight in it easy. I dont feel like Im carrying 60 lbs of stuff in it while rucking through the woods. It has so many compartments and its pretty logical on where stuff is so its easy to figure out and remember. I love this bag so much that I will be buying other bags in the range in the near future.
RaspundeJohn C.,
This backpack exceeds my expectations. Extremely versatile for loading, and comfortable in wearing. Holds a lot of gear, has space for large hydration bladder. Lots of compartments for organizing gear. Fits easily in an Aircraft overhead compartment.
RaspundeTimothy J.,
I work continuously throughout my day. Going from one job to the next and this bag allows me to carry all my gear at one time. So I pack this bag out with my essentials and much more. So Im ready for change in plans at a moments notice. Thanks 5.11
RaspundeShawn,
I bought this 6 months ago and have had 60 lbs of survival, medical, food, water and some clothes in it at all times. It's still holding up! I've went hiking with it on some moderate trails and have taken it to the range so far and plan to use it for camping/backpacking. It holds everything I could possibly need for 3 days of survival plus some extra room. Bag feels really good on you with lots of weight and the stitching is showing absolutely no signs of failing.
RaspundeRyan K.,
I bought this primarily for travel, camping and boating, as I wanted one backpack that would hold everything! nnThis has pockets and storage galore! You can easily pack three or more days worth of clothes, essentials etc. The .45 fits nice in the concealed compartment as well. :wink:nnAll the pockets have easy access and you can clip almost anything on it. Also, I found this to be very comfortable to wear on your back and can be adjusted depending on where want the weight carried. Im 5 11 205lbs so I have a lot of play in the straps to work with. nnI should have this a while as it is well built. There are plenty of other great features but there is no point going over them as it is in the description. nnWell worth the money.

I purchased this bag on the recommendation from my son who is a police officer and he also has this same bag. I purchased other bags but returned them because the quality was just not as good. Bag is a bit heavier than I would have liked but you get what you pay for. Wasn't sure I would like the green , my son has black, but it is quite nice. Was planning on using this bag as an emergency grab bag and found it has more than enough space for everything I need for me and my wife for a few days, clothes, food, emergency supplies etc. being on sale was also a good thing. Not much else to say, great bag.
RaspundeNathan E.,
Very solid pack, will last many years. The quality is one of the highest Ive owned, and its utility is very diverse. I use the pack as a daily but it also serves as a hiking/camping/bug out bag. It isnt overly cumbersome and the weight is distributed evenly when the pack gets heavy. Great value.
RaspundeStephen F.,
I have a Rush12 24L pack and wanted the 72 pack because I couldnt fit all my stuff in inside great upgrade!! Just using the smaller one for a range bag now. Love the build of the bag super rugged and the zippers are great and the CCW pocket is wonderful.
RaspundeJose L.,
I have been living in Costa Rica for the last few months and this bag gets used everyday. It is super comfortable. I use it to haul groceries from the supermarket. I use it on hikes and and to go to the beach. Its my suitcase when I travel as well. Tons of pockets for all my clothing and or gear. Also buckles and zippers are quality. Bag material doesnt get mold when its wet, which can be a major problem in the rainy season. I love this bag and its becoming the mvp of my trip. Its also super affordable in my opinion. Buy it you wont regret it
RaspundeAdam A.,
This bag is overall a great bag. The material is durable enough for your out door adventures. There are enough pockets to keep you organized. The two draw back for me was the weight of the bag when empty. I have a Exo pack for elk hunting that carries more and weighs less. The other draw back was the out side pouch is permanently attached. It would be if this was detachable. Overall very happy with the purchase.
RaspundeDomingo R.,
I love it, I use for work. I love all the extra room, and all available pockets.
RaspundeClint D.,
great bag. I am a complete gear head with diving, film and video. The organization this bag allows if incredible with all the related bits. This bag looks better in person than the photos as well. Material is strong and will last.

RaspundeJose L.,
I bought this bag for a trip to Costa Rica and as a carryon suitcase it performed flawlessly. Room for everything youd need on any weeklong vacation and then some ie extra shoes and a med kit!! However I recently move to Costa Rica and this bag is my mule Im close enough to town that I walk to get my groceries and it Carries everything nicely including a 12 pack of imperial canned beer. On beach day I sinch it down to day pack size and it brings towels water lunch cold beer med kit and speaker with room to spare. It has been invaluable to me its a tough as nails. Buy it I promise you wont regret it its comfortable too! Even my wife says its the MVP of our purchases. Where I live you cant order things on Amazon there is no Amazon your stuff has to have great zippers and bucked it has to be able to withstand punishment. Cant recommend it enough.
RaspundeErnie V.,
This is the best backpack that I've ever owned and I've owned many. The size(55L) is what I needed for the amount of devices and gear that I carry. The Molle attachment system is perfect and allows me to attach any size and type of additional storage/pouches. I also use a hexgrid panel on the interior to attach additional storage and gear pouches and keep the bag organized beyond any other system I've ever used... Perfection!!!!
RaspundeKyle H.,
I haven't gone on any adventures with my Rush72 yet, but I have quite a few coming up, so this review is just what I can tell from a first look. What I can tell just from a few short wears is the build quality here is excellent, there are many great features, and it is pretty comfortable with a load of about 30 pounds. Looking great so far - hopefully, I will remember to update this review after a few adventures.

Excellent quality of design and structural integrity in a new larger size! I already had the 37L and sought the next size larger to accommodate a larger laptop computer, iPad, and thick 3-Ring Binder, brochures, et.al. The new two tone black gives a nice enhanced contrast look. The outer displayed Velcro patch area is modifiable to go from the workplace to the hiking trail with a quick switch of image. The voluminous zipper pockets and storage areas challenges you to remember where you put everything. Even a hard to notice discreet section that can pack both a .45 CCW and still make room for a FoldAR elsewhere. Very satisfied with this purchase!
RaspundeButch M.,
Bought these for our rope rescue technicians in our fire department. Size is very good, plenty of space for all of their equipment and very comfortable to carry with the design of the straps.
RaspundeChoung-Hyun K.,
Perfect backpack, it has what you needed. I recommend bought Rush24 and Rush72.nRush24 is good to use daily, 72 can contain most stuff for long range travel.nI highly recommended.
RaspundeMatthew F.,
This is a big pack! However, with all of the pockets and zippers it stays very well organized. I use it as my everyday carry and it comfortably holds everything I need. On the other hand, when I go on a weekend trip, I can pack it out and no longer need to bring any other bags. The zippers, clips, and Velcro are all very solid and reliable, and the conceal compartment is perfect to hold my firearm when Im wearing active shorts and cant carry it on my hip.
RaspundeThomas K.,
Love this bag. It feels sturdy and substantial. Worth every penny!
RaspundeGavin C.,
Great backpack! Holds up with 50 lbs for 4 mile rucks with no problem. Tons of pockets and spots to put your stuff. Looks great and works even better!
RaspundeKimberly R.,
It's a great product, We put a lot of weight in it to ruck with, weekly, and it is holding strong. We've purchased multiple for incoming employees because we feel that highly about the quality of this bag.
RaspundeJoshua C.,
It is a good size and carries a high amount of stuff. It is very cofortable on long hikes and I have worn it all day carrying a large load and had no discomfort.
RaspundePeter G.,
This pack is great in holding the things I need as a weekend warrior. The adjustable pack in the middle holds my kevlar and water bottle for easy access, plus it's just a big backpack to hold what I need.
RaspundeStephen B.,
Best pack I have ever owned. Comfortable with lots of assorted storage. The warranty is exceptional for an excellent product. I work construction and it had survived over a year of abuse and other than being dirty is physically flawless. I have purchased a 2nd pack this year for my personal use.
RaspundeKris N.,
Awesome craftsmanship and very durable material. Good size to fit and carry a decent amount of supplies.
RaspundePhillip S.,
Great looking sack.nWell designed sack.nWell built sack.nWould buy again.nMay just do that.
RaspundeJohn E.,
Very comfortable even with a heavy load out. Seems to be made solid. I would recommend this rush series. Looks good and fits well and the color ranger green works me at work or on a hunt. Thanks for reading hope the Lord blesses you.
RaspundeCalvin K.,
FIT IS GOODnSize satisfies what I neednThere was already a rip on the material when I received the product
RaspundeAvraham L.,
So far so good, I need more miles rucking and fighting with it to give a more comprehensive review.
RaspundeMichael G.,
I was so impressed with this bag that I purchased a rush 12 for tier system use. They will definitely handle my bug out requirements. The side pocket holds my Katydn water filter system and I use an older Blackhawk water bladder with it and the keepers on the carry straps keep it securely close at hand. Thanks for the 2.0 upgrade!
RaspundeMichael R.,
Excellent bag that I use for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The quality and construction is top notch!
RaspundeJesse M.,
Happy with my purchase. Bigger than I expected. I probably could have gone with the smaller one But a great bag.
RaspundeChristopher L.,
Perfect size! Sturdy yet comfortable. Will recommend
RaspundeWon K.,
Nice green color, i can carry almost everything i need to escape or traveling nLove it and I purchased an another one for my friend (Black color)
RaspundeChristian S.,
Top Shelf 5.11 Quality nTaking It To :u1F1FA::u1F1E6: As My 3 Day Pack.nLots of Room for my Solar/Battery Set Up,nKatadyn Pocket,nFood, Ammo, ComenEtc.
RaspundeDaniel R.,
Nice size pack with lots of options. Plenty of pockets store small to large items. Sunglass compartment is a great feature. Padded laptop pocket and hidden pockets nice touch. Back can be expanded with optional bags.
RaspundeWallace R.,
II'm a photographer and I like camping. For many years I have bought many backpacks of all brands for photography and adventures but I needed a backpack for a large volume of 45 liters or more, with a good organization system and the best material available at a good price. The Rush 72 meets all my expectations. It's just a little heavy. I am small and I am 5 feet 4 inches and the bundle fits well. The upside is that it's made of a very strong material and can take quite a bit of abuse on the trail. It is definitely a backpack that I recommend and the price is the best.
RaspundeJustin L.,
Quality and versatility is as advertised! This large pack is a little too big (imo) for your average "day" hike, but perfect for multi-day excursions. Plenty of well thought out compartments to perfectly store electronics, clothes, first aid, water bladder, and especially love the CCW options. Both shoulder and belt straps are durable and well padded with excellent adjustment and HD clips. Highly recommend!
RaspundeNicole O.,
Got for my husband for his bday. He was impressed with the room and extra pockets for all his stuff. Definitely made with the ability to hold tons of gear.
RaspundeSteve N.,
Almost a perfect backpack!nIf it had the feature to slip over the luggage handle when traveling it would get a 5-star and be the ultimate backpack.nThat aside its great! Super sturdy material. Very functional. Comfortable. Love the two side zipper pouches that accommodate huge water bottles.
RaspundePhilip G.,
This bag works great! I love all of the options for organization and expandability. The exterior stuff pouch is a little loose when the bag is empty, and I wish there were a way to secure it without the compression straps, but it's a minor nit.
RaspundeAngela J.,
Well made backpack. I bought it to use as a go bag. I am a petite woman so it is a little big for my small frame but I will manage. I love it!
RaspundeMarc N.,
First 5.11 pack. Very satisfied with # of compartments for adequate storage and organization. Recently used it as my 2 day travel pack to business meeting in Boston. Comfortable walking 5 blocks, packed with laptop, books, clothes, shoes, etc. Will challenge it in 'the field' this spring/summer
RaspundeGeorge D.,
Sturdy, multi-purpose bag to be used for longer excursions, and as a bug-out bag.
RaspundeDavid B.,
The best back pack and well worth the extra money. Has so much space. I have mine for several years and it is rugged and very well made. So many compartments for separating close for travel. My one bag is all I need to have over a week's worth of clothes and a pair of shoes with my laptop and its electronics. Can carry all on my back without having a suitcase and a separate duffle bag.
RaspundeRussell D.,
The pouch is practical, built well and easy to access.
RaspundeJoubert J.,
Quality stitches. Quality materials. They thought of everything in this pack. Compartments everywhere including a CCW one. Love it!
RaspundeGeorge W.,
Bought this for two to three day backpacking trips. Even though it's a touch heavier than the "civilian" style backpacks I much prefer the ruggedness of this model. The workmanship is first rate. About the only complaint is that I could have don't without some of the extra internal pockets. Otherwise I love it!
RaspundeRod R.,
I have several packs for various uses. Thru hiked the AT in 2019 so I do know a little about backpacks; tested 4 different packs during my hike. Although I did not purchase the RUSH72 as a thru-hike pack for a trek of 2,192 miles, it is a well made product I will use for many other adventures and generally as my go-to bug-out pack. It holds a ton of gear, fits me well, includes the organization I need for quick access, and looks inconspicuous in a solid color (I chose black). Appreciate the conceal carry pocket too!
RaspundeRYAN C.,
Received this bag and I immediately used it on a trip to Honduras. I purchased this bag along with the Rush Moan 10 sling 18L and they pair fantastically with the strap system to attach the sling to this bag. Both bags are incredibly well laid out compared to my previous bags. My only complaint is that the way the laptop pocket is situated when the bag is full and youre needing to pull your device for TSA or something like that it is a struggle getting it out passed all your other items in the bag. Great purchase though. It fit perfectly in the overhead bin on my flight.
RaspundeEric I.,
Plenty of room for all my gear. Love the water holder. Can also store a Yeti cooler in the side pocket along with my laptop
RaspundeWilliam M.,
Great bag, bought as an emergency go bag. Fits all of the various things we might need in an emergency if my family of three need to go quickly.
RaspundeDonald B.,
everything I was looking for. Hi quality material, lots of room and I can add extra compartment if I need to. Very happy. thank you 5.11
RaspundeRon H.,
Good size pack, roomy lots of separate areas, strong zippers, comfortable, secure fit and molle is the s***
RaspundeRichard R.,
Great pack, hauled extra cold weather clothes, first aid kit, two locked pistol cases and 450 rounds. All that along with my usual edc (hammock, rain fly, clean h2o kit .etc). Hiked in a good 2 miles in snow without needing to adjust straps, and all my gear was easy to access for a good day out at the range.
RaspundeMichael H.,
Great Bag Great Quality! This bag will hold up under any condition and last a lifetime!
RaspundeAnthony C.,
Well made and durable. I am sure Ill have it around for a long time
RaspundeAaron C.,
The 55L Rush has replaced a suitcase, duffle, and a toiletry bag for me. Im an OTR Trucker and I bring a weeks worth of clothing and personal care supplies along with a lap top, an extra pair of boots and jacket, along with my EDC gear, various electronic support items, nutritional supplements and emergency food packs with me when I head out. The Rush keeps me organized, is tough as a bear, and I get twice the value of what it cost and then some. Just get one, youll immediately be glad you did. nA. CardernMeadview Az.
RaspundeBrandon H.,
Excellent backpack. I purchased this to use as an EDC bag, which appears to be a very uncommon use for it. Many other users state the bag as being almost too large for most circumstances. however I always would rather have extra space than not enough space. I carry the bag absolutely everywhere, so anything further that I acquire from a store, work, etc. will always find room in the bag.nnThe hip belt definitely makes a difference - I also have the smaller RUSH12, which was my previous EDC bag, and loading that to capacity was notably less comfortable than loading the 72. Even with a fully loaded bag, the straps and hip belt do a great job of keeping it comfortable to carry.nnBuild quality and design is fantastic, as would be expected from the RUSH series.nnOne note that I couldn't find an answer to when I was researching the pack - the side pockets ARE large enough to fit a standard 32oz/1l Nalgene bottle with room left over above or below it for another small item (I could easily fit a small snack container, soda can, and the Nalgene in a single side pocket). nnProbably the only negative I have to say is the zipper routing on the side pockets - it sometimes takes quite a bit of effort for the zipper to round the sharp corner at the top of the pocket - my guess is that breaking the zippers in will fix this, though, as historically I've always had the zippers on 5.11 products "ease" into their routings better over time.
Raspundezack c.,
I purchased this pack as a backpacking bag, while I haven't had a chance to go camping with it yet I did test it out on a 4 mile ruck and found it to be comfortable and suitable for my purposes. I was concerned that the single aluminum rod might not be enough of a frame, but when paired with the plastic it worked quite well loaded up with 47lbs of gear. Also all of my gear fit inside except what I wanted mounted on the outside such as a first aid kit and a snack pouch, I probably could have fit some more food or fuel for my stove in the pack. I would recommend this pack to anyone looking for a rugged, durable, and customizable backpacking pack.
RaspundeMilano P.,
Love the space, craftmanship, compartments - except one open area cannot be zippered shut - no zipper/intentionally left open. When Florida heat/hurricane season starts; tht space will become useless.
RaspundeMartin K.,
They say you pay for what you get youll lay more for this bag over other 72hr bags , but this is superior. This is my second one. A few upgrades on the newer bag which was nice. If I had to suggest one more upgrade Id add more velcro onto the molles to add additional security to the attachment plus many more patch options for us junkies who like to advertise.
RaspundeMatthew H.,
Nice BUT the 2.0 DOES NOT HAVE the same number of storage pockets that the 1.0 has. Big disappointment there. There are at least 7 pockets missing. And 5.11 does not explain that anywhere. They only tout the 3 new features but they do not mention the removal of pockets. Big disappointment for such an expensive backpack. Plus 5.11 has meant quality to me up until now. Once bitten, twice shy now.
RaspundeAndy L.,
This bag is awesome! Tons of pockets and storage space inside. WAY more room than I thought it would have! Its definitely worth checking out if youre on the fence about getting a new bag! The straps and zippers seem to be very sturdy as well.
RaspundeLaurel B.,
I bought two. They are high quality bags. Love them and will keep purchasing from 5.11
RaspundeRobert C.,
Its my 3rd one , each a different size. Love them. Great quality
RaspundeJonathan T.,
Stout material! No matter how heavy you load it, its still comfortable and balanced on your back.
RaspundeJason F.,
Im a former Trooper turned lawyer and I used this to carry my laptop, legal books, and client files. Its got a TON of room in it, is built of sturdy materials, lightweight, and has plenty of accessory compartments that could hold anything from extra mags to extra pens.
RaspundeJoseph P.,
Fits all of my gear and more. Well designed. Pockets everywhere. Material seems very durable. Packed and ready to go, just need to test it in the elements.
RaspundeDerrick S.,
Its great. It could use a latch for the stuff pouch. Like Velcro or a snap. Something .
Raspundeemerson m.,
here's the deal: there are a lot of comments saying this bag isn't as good as the last one due to pockets being different or whatever. I never owned the old model, so I have nothing but good things to say about this one. I was beating myself up for awhile between this and the mission workshop vandal because I wanted a large capacity bag. nnI'm so glad I got this one. super durable, well-stitched pack with a LARGE capacity. it almost looks ridiculous when it is completely full but it is super easy to carry. plenty of separation for everything. a great bag and over a hundred cheaper than my other option and it has MOLLE capability. what more could I need? nnI'll own it forever and may even get the 24 for edc. I'm super impressed. I'm tired of spending good money for less than stellar quality items and this 72 from 5.11 took all my future doubts away. I would definitely recommend it if you need a BOB or even for a fair-sized trip to the grocery store.nn*i included a pic of the bag strapped in to show the size.
RaspundeDALE G.,
I work as field tech and use this as my go bag. It has room for extra clothes, paperwork, food, and my PPE including hard hat that fits great in the stuff pouch. There was a piece of Velcro with some missed stitches in the concealed carry pouch out of the box, other than that no issues.
RaspundeOSEAS V.,
This pack is going to endure a lot - its so well built it feels very rugged - appeared smaller in pics - its spacious
RaspundeNick S.,
Comfortable all day with 20 plus lbs of gear. Only issue is that the ccw compartment can not be accessed when wearing the pack. Would still buy again.
RaspundeSTEVE G.,
This bag is awesome so many compartments and the secureness of the back pack straps. Really well made ..:+1::skin-tone-4::+1::skin-tone-4:
RaspundeBen C.,
Awesome bag. Tons of room. Complements the other two bags i own.
RaspundeRAM L.,
This is the most awesome backpack I have ever owned and it's worth EVERY PENNY. The build quality is superb, the internal pockets and padding are extremely well done, the different compartments design is is totally thought out and a MAJOR step above what I used to use in my last backpack for organizing things. I'm SO HAPPY with it that I just leave it out with everything in it and use it as a daily storage/organizer as well as a backpack! The padded straps are wonderful! The only improvement I would recommend is that the velcro on the molle shouldn't just be one name strip and one patch strip. I'd love it if the entire molle face had velcro for multiple patches! I know, I know. Overkill. Man, this backpack is AWESOOME!
RaspundeErik B.,
Lots of space, ample pockets and hidden pockets. I like it. Not used in the field yet, more to come.
Raspundediego s.,
This backpack was on my wishlist since long ago, until last month that finally bought it. Love this backpack, it is bigger than i visualized, but definetely a great item. I just arrive from a 7 day trip, and it hold all my clothes and necessary stuff with no problem.
RaspundeSteven L.,
Quality construction. Have only used on one weekend trip so far but exceeded expectations.
RaspundeSam C.,
This may be the best 5.11 backpack yet. It holds everything I need, and has plenty of room for those unexpected items I have to take. I just wish there was an extender for the waist strap. I'm a fluffy guy, and could use more waist strap.
RaspundeStuart P.,
I had the previous version and loved it. Im in construction so it carried my tools, lunch, extra clotheseverything Id need for the day. That thing took a lot of abuse. Compared to cheeped packs that had to be replaced a lot more often. This pack was much more cost effective. My new pack looks just as durable. Some slight changes in features. I miss the small pockets in the side pouches but nothing I cant live with. nOverall I am very happy with it.
RaspundeNick M.,
Straps could be a bit longer for men over 66 but you can get extenders. Fits everything distributes weight well.
RaspundeRudd W.,
Ive already taken it on two trips in first month of having it. Im beating it up really good and still looks new. It holds a ton of gear and weight distribution is great. Im getting the Rush 12 for a EDC bag now. Ranger green color looks awesome too btw.
RaspundeCharles Z.,
Love the rush72 pack. Lots of storage when packing for the weekend. Plenty of pockets and if youre traveling in a friendly state nice pocket to stow your firearm. Product seems durable and well made. Overall definitely recommend the rush72
RaspundeZachary D.,
There are significant improvements from the last version. The glasses compartment fits my shooting glasses and the pockets are much more user friendly. I can't possibly go over why this back pack is so awesome, but I will say this, you are making a mistake thinking that you can buy a backpack anywhere else and get this kind of quality. Thank you 5.11.
RaspundeJohnny G.,
I'm a huge fan of 5.11 products. I got the Rush 72 & 100 and now finally upgraded my EDC bag to a Rush 12. This bag stores more stuff than I thought. I loaded it with a 20lbs sand bag and it's actually still pretty comfortable. Now the main question is, when will I buy a 24 to complete a full set?
RaspundeAC,
Great packback for long distance travels. I had the 24l and I upgraded to this bad boy. I lost one of the clip-on straps on the shoulder. I was wondering if the rush tier system can be compatible lol?.
RaspundeBrandon A.,
So far so good. Haven't used it in the rough yet, but have used it for edc office stuff. Comfortable, spacious, durable.
RaspundeMario R.,
I looked ok on the site, then found out it is better when received. This bag have a lot of space and feels comfortable even when I had an hore hike with a lot of weight in it. Just an excellent buy.
RaspundeMichael C.,
It is a really nice to have sling for outdoor use. I fish so that is why I purchased the sling. Lugging around my backpack tackle is like a 50 pound ruck and needed to downsize and take only what I need and this sling accommodated that. As far as durability goes so far so good but I dont put it through the ringer like other folks probably do. Thanks for making a functional product even if you didnt have fishing in mind !
RaspundeTyler M.,
I travel for work and am usually flying 3 days out of the week. This bag looks great, the quality is unmatched and everything is practical. I couldnt ask for anything better. The side pocket is large enough to fit a Yeti Rambler 36oz. The main pouch fits a hard hat, boots and a weeks worth of clothes. The stuff it pouch is super useful for putting a hoodie or travel blanket in. Worth every penny.
RaspundeBrian S.,
I tried to buy cheaper packs from knockoff companies on Amazon, and none of them handled the weight well (20-35lbs). I finally stepped up and got this, and I couldnt be more satisfied, it has plenty of storage pockets organized smartly, MOLLE/PALS webbing everywhere, hydration sleeve for a bladder, the rigid plastic frame sheet keeps it from deforming under load, enough hook and loop for a little flair, comfortable straps and back padding, etc. I havent found a single flaw so far.
RaspundeMichael T.,
Great pack plenty of room! Only had it fir a month now. Its awesome to have for family outings.
RaspundeWael a.,
the new update and bag upgrade is fantastic its been than the oldest version
RaspundeTate M.,
This bag is even more than I thought when I purchased it. There's more room, more pouches, and it's a very intuitive design. Nice job, 511.
RaspundeBrandon P.,
very roomy, alot of compartments, will buy another once mine wears out.
RaspundeSara B.,
My husband was thrilled with this bag for his birthday! It's such good quality and durable.
RaspundeThomas E.,
They took everything all the organization out of this bag, not understanding its what operators are looking. They did this to save on the cost of materials for a larger profit margin, which shows they care more about the bottom line, then what the customer is looking for. I wont buy this brand again in the future.
RaspundeEdward L.,
Excellent product, lots of room and places to put gear. Well constructed and durable. Comfortable to wear with full pack.
RaspundeKimberly K.,
My son wanted this bag for tech school and it is perfect for him. So many compartments and my son loves it.
RaspundeTaveras C.,
This bag is very roomy. I have room for things I didn't think I had room for.
RaspundeWilliam A.,
I can fit three days worth of clothes, my poncho, poncho liner, my tripod chair, extra clothes for my kids, med kit, my knives, the water bottles, hell I could probably fit my kids in this bag. Its got so much room and a spot for everything.
RaspundeEsteban G.,
This backpack totally rocks!! Fits all my gear required to my work. I work in a place that requires us to carry different gear and it all fits perfectly into the pack.
RaspundeMichael M.,
This bag is amazing! It has a ton of compartments for everything you need. I actually use it as a daily carry because I drive for a delivery company and I can keep everything I need in one place. Clothes, shoes, meds, snacks, mouthwash, body spray, notebooks, towels and I can keep going. I cant overpack this thing even if I tried. Perfect for softball tournaments for my daughter, shes a diabetic and we need to have plenty of drinks and snacks, bandages as well as her insulin which is kept cool because the bag doesnt let in heat (a big plus). If not the insulin could go bad. Fits on my shoulders very well, I think I probably carry somewhere between 30 and 40lbs in it, and doesnt hurt my back. Ive tried many different styles of bags but none were able to accommodate me for what I needed. First time buying and will be a customer for life. Thank you 5.11 for a great product.
RaspundeTodd M.,
Got the 12 and straps to go with the 72 and 3 add on pouches Im set for the day, week or month. I think I have every pack Ill ever need but Im getting more :grinning_face_with_one_large_and_one_small_eye::grinning_face_with_one_large_and_one_small_eye::grinning_face_with_one_large_and_one_small_eye:
RaspundeJohn,
First of all I want to say that I have purchased the previous model (rush 72) which I had to sell and tried the newer generation from a friend. nPros. nA million pockets with mesh lining where you can see everything there is inside. nReally loved the pocket for my sunglasses which is on top of everything and easily accessible. nAaaaand thats it. nCons. nA million pockets where you loose your things. It is ambiguous, I know but it is what it is. nEvery elastic strap that held any kind of lose cordura straps was overstretched to a point that nothing was held in place and I was walking with every strap hanging. nThe shoulder straps are so badly designed I cannot imagine 511 sells this backpack. Let me explain, they are designed in a way that the backpack is hanging from my shoulders so low that the lower part of the backpack is rubbing on my lower back. When I pull the straps so I can tighten them so I can lift it , it gets uncomfortable. n511 has a lot of quality things like other bags, clothing , belts etc but this backpack isnt one of them. 511 should learn from other companies like Berghaus or even Tasmanian tiger.
RaspundeJeremy,
I love my original Rush 72. 8 vacations and probably 30,000+ miles between travel and daily excursions and its still going strong. So when I saw the 2.0 release I knew I needed to see if it was time to upgrade. I like the addition of the Velcro conceal pocket in the front. But the admin pocket lost some internal organization as well as the top zippered pocket. It had a small sleeve built in I used to store small items like S-binders.I can look past those. But the biggest loss to me is the loss of internal organization in the two side vertical pockets. The 1.0 had small pockets that fit external batteries, small snack items for my diabetic gf, etc., in addition to my hydroflask for long days out. Now theyre simply just large catch-alls. Very disappointing. Now instead of upgrading, Im likely to look for another 72 on the secondary market for when mine decides to kick rocks. I dont expect a 3.0 out anytime soon to correct this (in my opinion) major oversight. Like the title says, 1 step forward, 3 steps backwards.
RaspundeRon,
I purchased this pack for my wife and wile the 2.0 is a nice pack I find it lacking when I compare it to my RUSH 72 1.0. I find it substantially lacking many of the internal pockets that are in my 1.0. I will say that I do like where the water bladder tube hole is placed on the 2.0 because where it is placed in the 1.0 has made the glasses pocket unusable for me because my water bladder tube crutches that pocket. In closing the 2.0 wile a fine backpack did not meet the expectations I had for it.
RaspundeCarbum,
The bag works as advertised. Still trying to figure out why the multi cam version is $50 more.

Michael W.,
Far more nooks, crannies and pockets than the pictures show. I fit everything I had from my smaller survival pack in here and still have loads of room. Very sturdy materials--I strapped a knife sheath and canteen pouch to the molle webbing and they aren't going anywhere. The two 'sections' strapped together is odd but not a problem.
