Andrew L.,
I use this bag multiple times a week as I work my shifts as a firefighter. I use the rush duffle bag to store my clothes and bedding and use this bag to carry everything else. Not only does this bag hold up to some weight, it’s comfortable, durable, and most importantly functional. I recommend this bag or any of the rush series bags to all my co workers.
RaspundeDan T.,
I have 4 now, one for the gym, hunting, hiking, ruck marching. Now the 5th is a gift to my kid going into the service. Toughest bag I’ve ever come across.
RaspundeChris A.,
Very solid backpack. I wore mine all day at Blade Show Atlanta and it held everything that a needed with ease.
RaspundeAnonymous,
A great every day bag. Very versatile amd practical. Love it

This backpack is "BIG" but can hold everything. You can use it for a weekend travel bag as well.
RaspundeHarper G.,
I should have heeded the advice of a previous review and skipped this purchase. Is it quality? Absolutely. It's the tipping forward issue that does it for me. I only use this for work and have to fight the pack to stop tipping forward to get my stuff out.

Great Bag, plenty of compartments., if it had an external laptop pocket it would be perfect
RaspundeKimberly J.,
Love this bag so much that I ended up getting my partner one too! Lots of space and pockets and compartments. We both use this for a work bag. So sturdy too. Hoping this will be my last one. So tired of all my straps breaking on all my previous bags with no weight inside to justify it not lasting long at all. The straps look heck of sturdy.
RaspundeStephen S.,
Thoughtfulness and quality throughout.
RaspundeNikki B.,
I've had my bag and been using it as my EDC for a little over 10 years. It still looks great and has only minimal wear on the bottom. It holds everything I need when I'm away from home, which is a lot. I love all the pockets and pouches. It keeps all my stuff neat and organized. Mine doesn't have the pull away concealed carry pouch in the front (I use the interior zipper pocket inside the front zipper pouch for concealed carry) or the laptop sleeve in the main compartment (I use the hydration pouch for my iPad). If I could change anything, I wish there were more color options. I love that they added the plum and the blue, but it's too much of the same color for me. I have the double tap and wish the new colors were trimmed in black like the double tap. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything. I will always carry the Rush 24 37L bag!!
RaspundeOscar,
I’ve been using the waxed version of the RUSH 24 as my daily EDC bag for work and commuting, and overall, I still give it 5 stars. The build quality is excellent, the materials feel durable and premium, and the organization works okay for tech, tools, and everyday gear.nnThat said, the biggest flaw is the laptop compartment access. The eyeglass pocket gets in the way and makes accessing a laptop far more inconvenient than it should be. For a bag this size and price, I expected smoother, more practical access for commuting and office use.nn5.11 really needs to redesign or relocate the eyeglass pocket, or add true external laptop access like many other brands offer. I’d also gladly give up one side utility pocket for a proper water bottle pocket.nnThis bag is close to being the perfect EDC backpack. If anyone at 5.11 wants feedback from someone actively using it in my industry every day, I’m available.
RaspundeAmr,
A practical and useful tactical bag that offers a good level of support, although there are some minor issues with the YKK zipper not fully opening the bag. Overall, it's good.
RaspundeJim,
I haul heavy equipment in and out of the West Texas and New Mexico deserts to and from remote locations. I bought this bag to replace a blackhawk patrol bag I was using to store tools and spare lights. The seperate transparent storage pouches make it easy to be my own mechanic and seperate essentials that I need to set equipment up to go. The admin pouch is also great for storing paperwork and writing utensils. Also love the ccw pouch, confirmed it will fit an hk mk23. If you own one its like trying to concealed carry a desert eagle. This bag will do it and do it well.
RaspundeMichael C.,
I just got mine and I am looking forward to my first trip to use it. I got it because my son has one and I was impressed with the quality of his. You can tell it is well made and will stand up to extreme use. I might not be the most extreme of the extreme, but I think this may be the last backpack I ever have to buy - unless, of course, I want a second one…
RaspundeAdam T.,
I purchased this bag as an EDC for my roadside work, and it has proven to be both durable and well-constructed. It’s also very comfortable to wear throughout the day.

Bought for a trip to Japan. Impressed by it's quality. Only reason I dock a star is I could use a bit more shoulder strap. Otherwise a very recommended backpack!

Mike,
Have had this bag for 5+ years and two careers. Bag itself is bomb proof and the only time I switch out of it is when I'm going for a less tactical look. Fully packed out, I can still shove it under an airline seat most of the time. Has never let me down. Straps are a bit slippery and have a tendency to fall off my shoulder when I have it slung over only one, but when I use both straps, they are extremely comfortable.

So many storage compartments and pockets, quality materials, great price! I needed a durable bag for work, this thing fits my tools, safety gear, other supplies and my lunch. The 37L is larger than a normal backpack but not too big.
RaspundeTim,
I've had this bag for sixteen years now. Served me under tactical conditions and simply civilian stuff. The thing simply will not break. This is the MilSpec standard for me.
RaspundeTheron B.,
Excellent pack. Lots of pockets and attachment points. Plenty of room for everything.
RaspundeIvan O.,
I LOVE IT!!! It's an awesome back pack. So many convenient pockets, and organization. Love the MOLLE system. I added some MOLLE Velcro panels just to personalize it. I use it as a workout bag, but will probably also use it to travel. It's a great backpack.
RaspundeCharles M.,
Great pack. Only thing I would add is a built in water bottle pouch in one side. I know you can add one by that’s never as stable as a built in pouch.

I recently purchased 2 Rush 24 bags for a trip to Japan. It has been the best purchase I have ever made. The bag has plenty of pockets for storage. The zippers are sturdy and just the overall craftsmanship has exceeded every expectation. We will be using these bags for every trip abroad. Thank you 5.11 family.
RaspundeLauren,
The Rush 24 works perfectly as a travel bag. The material is rather stiff at first, but I washed it in the washing machine and that helped to soften it up a bit. It is well constructed, durable, has plenty of pockets, and is overall a very functional and well thought-out pack.nnI do have a couple of improvement suggestions:n1. The laptop sleeve - The existing sleeve is inside the main compartment, which makes accessing your laptop difficult when the pack is full. Having a separate zipper sleeve in between the hydration pouch and the main compartment would help with this. n2. I would LOVE to see 5.11 come out with some more colors for the ladies, such as a cream/off white or a dusty rose. There is a whole demographic of women out there who love the functionality of 5.11 packs, but who would also like some variety in colors. n3. A water bottle pouch

I made my first trip to the 5.11 store in Maryland and bought at a RUSH 24 2.0 backpack. I think this backpack is the best backpack I ever bought. So much storage and excellent quality.
RaspundeBrian C.,
The bag seems well built. There is a lot of room for storage. Nice bag over all.
RaspundeSamuel D.,
I love the rush 24 2.0 backpack, it is very spacious and has pockets and compartments in all the the right places.
RaspundeJohn,
Great backpack, love the brand and the quality otherwise. That said, be careful using this at airports. TSA tore the sternum strap off the bag from incompetence/indifference, and 511 doesn't sell replacements. Replacement sternum straps on Amazon only really work well with shoulder straps that have vertical webbing (horicontal stiches. 511's MOLLE webbing on the the shoulder straps (horizontal loops, vertical stitching) aren't compatible.nnMultiple requests to them about wanting to PURCHASE a replacement sternum strap meet a brick wall. They don't sell them, and they have no plans on selling them apparently. nnNot sure why they can't sell such a simple, easily broken item. The strap isn't secured to the bag by much more than a piece of rigid plastic. I can't help but think this is more common than the reviews reflect. You've been warned!

Claudio,
I’ve owned this bag for nearly 14 years—multiple RUSH 12s from the original to the 2.0 in several colors. I’ve used them for hunting, hiking, travel, and everyday carry, and they’ve passed every test. The clamshell opening is still one of my favorite features, making packing and access simple and efficient.nnWhile this bag isn’t designed with a “gray man” approach in mind, it has the potential to fit that role with one change: offering a version without the external MOLLE webbing. Removing it would allow the bag to look like a standard school or commuter backpack while retaining the outstanding function of the RUSH platform.nnThe LV line was a great step in this direction, and I own the collection. However, the LV18 felt top-heavy, and I missed the RUSH’s organization and its ability to stand upright.nnRemake the RUSH 12 with LV materials and no PALS/MOLLE webbing—that would be a true forever bag.

Friend for a life. We've started our 18th year together and it's still perfectly functional. Yes, you can see the time on it...but to be honest it's aged better than me. XD
RaspundeMarie S.,
Received item on time for Christmas and was exactly what my son expected and more. He was very impressed with all the compartments available to store items and how comfortable it felt when wearing the backpack with every thing in it
RaspundeJason J.,
Absolutely love my Rush24 2. 0 pack! It an everyday carry for work! Thanks 5. 11 for a durable hardcore backpack!
RaspundeMichael B.,
Meets or exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend you also buy the optional waist belt that 5. 11 sells for it.
RaspundeJ. T.,
I have had the Rush 24 2. 0 for exactly 1 year at the time of writing this. I use the backpack a few times a week and have not had any negative issues to date. I really like the amount of zipped compartments, both large and small, and over-all space provided in this backpack. . there is alot more room in this bag than would appear at first glance! Im happy with the materials, build quality, and over-all durability of the bag. Again, its only been a year, but I do use the bag regularly, and as of now, all zippers operate flawlessly, and there is no sign of wear or damage anywhere, that would lead me to believe I will have a problem anytime soon. I would recommend to anyone looking for this size/style backpack without hesitation.

My first rush 24 lasted 12 years then the zipper failed. Replaced it with another late 2023 and the main zipper has failed again at the end of 2025. Bag still has years of life left in it if the zipper could be replaced

Absolutely phenomenal. Ive read the bad comments but this backpack is amazing for everyday use. I use to hold my gym clothes (in a grocery bag) and some groceries. I cannot praise this backpack enough, its a million times better than my old 14L backpack.
RaspundeJeff P.,
My wife purchased the backpack for me for Christmas in 2013. It was a very durable pack and I've used it for work everyday. Love the 2013 pack. It recently finally wore out, torn shoulder strap and broken zipper. I figured I'll replace it with the same one. I know 5. 11 was sold back in 2016 and I feel like the new ownership must have changed manufacturers because the pack/ material feels very cheap. I don't think I'll be getting 12 years out of this new pack. I've only had it for a short time so far and I hope I'm wrong about it. Time will tell. But as for right now I can only give it 2 stars.

quality seems good, and size is about perfect for one 17in laptop, i have not yet had a chance to travel with it to see how it holds up the the abuse of a service technician
RaspundeJason L.,
I was hoping the rush 24 would be just a smaller exact version of the 72, but isnt the case. I disliked the split front top pocket. The material is nice, and its durable, just didnt like the design. No drain holes, or holes to run water tube through on top. Wish they made the 24s like the original rush 72 (not v2) but smaller in size.

This is my second Rush 24, I have the older version as well. I picked this one up because I have a thing for Blue so when there was a sale I had to jump on it. I hope 511 continues to use this blue for some other molle pouches.
RaspundeSteven C.,
After 2 years trying multiple different bags went with the 5. 11 rush 2. 0 for a med bag that could carry everything I need and still be accessible for LEO applications. This bad boy knocks it out of the park. The time spent in to designing this is so intuitive it blows my mind. Of all the features I enjoy the fact the main compartment folds open to put eyes on everything available. The laptop space fits a tactical stretcher absolutely perfectly for quick deployment and evacuation. I recommend this bag to anyone that asks or doesnt.
RaspundeJoshua,
I absolutely love mine. I am a little on the shorter side and this bag is comfortable for EDC. I have carried it every day on the ambulance for a little over a year and it has held up very well. Its got plenty of room for a 3 in 1 parka and all the junk I carry on shift. The 2l hydration pack fits nicely without feeling like there's a giant bulge in your back.
RaspundeSean C.,
Bought this to carry my junk I have to carry for trade school. It will carry most everything I need but occasionally I have to bring an extra bag. (Whenever an instructor demands we need the books and a laptop. ) I also bought the Rush belt kit after I found out how much it hurt my shoulders to carry 20+ lbs of gear for a school day.nnSo the laptop pocket will support a Dell G16 7630 which is a 16in laptop if you are a little rough and pack it first. (14in W X ~10in D)nnThe shoulder straps hurt if you pack it over 15lbs and must be modded to have much wider pads. No biggie, easy to mod.nnThe Rush belt system is iffy as it relies on friction to stay in place but will use short straps that have a hard time staying in place with. I'm about to sew them on again another mod that can be done at home.nnThe sternum straps sit too high and do not stay in place eventually moving up to my throat, no amount of adjustment via their system has stopped this so it stays unbuckled. Annoying but meh.nnI prefer this to the solution Dell sells as compatible. Some days I have to use a bag I got from a competitor but most days I can get away with just this bag which is why I bought it. Over all it meets my needs and will likely get used when I get out into the field I'm studying in.
RaspundeAndrew,
I was issued 2 of these while in the military and went to war and back and they are still running strong. Best products and will buy these again when my current ones die out if they ever do

Adam,
Have had the bag for a couple months and absolutely love how durable it is. I work security so i crammed this thing full of waters, my laptop, different items i need for work, and of course snacks. To say the least i feel like I'm in the military again with how much stuff it can hold and how heavy it gets. My only draw back is i wish there was a bag that 5. 11 sold that could attach to the bottom buckles of this bag that was basically a collapsible lunch bag per se. working 12-16 hours shifts at times i bring my own dinners and lunch and i have to carry a second bag that is insulated just for my perishable food. That is one thing i wish was able to be used for this bag
RaspundeChristian,
I've used this pack in several outdoor adventures and everytime I love it. It's comfortable for my height (6'3) and with the hip belt it stays in place during climbing over rocks. 5. 11

Daniel R.,
The RUSH 24 is an excellent backpack. I use mine primarily for business travel. There is a generous amount of space for my personal and business laptops, an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. There is plenty of extra room for other things. I had some trouble getting it under the seat in front of me, but if not overpacked it should serve as a personal item.nnAs the name implies, it is also perfect for an overnight or even two days away from the house if youre packing only clothes and overnight items in it. nnThere are multiple compartments for organization. With pretty consistent use, I quickly got used to exactly where everything is. The smaller pouches at the top have zipper areas to safely secure the most important items, like car keys. Other zips within the larger compartments are very helpful. My fiance was very impressed with mine so we ordered one for her as well. She liked it specifically bc of the nice padding and yoke system, which remains comfortable even when standing for a long time in airports or elsewhere. nnAt the price point, I think this backpack is a great buy for the quality and thoughtfulness of the bag.

Chris B.,
I recently bought two of these backpacks, one for everyday use and the other as a go bag for my work. These backpacks were constructed very well, from the zippers, seams, and all straps. So far so good without any issues at all. For me personally I wish the mesh inside the backpack was of a thicker quality, but not really any complaints at all. Overall Im glad I found this one.
RaspundeMajor H.,
I didn't want a backpack but I needed one for work. I knew 511 had the best stuff so I got this and I love it. Tough as nails
RaspundeDJ V.,
This has to be the best thing I've purchased in a long long time. Well thought out and the quality of construction is outstanding. I couldn't be happier.
RaspundeBobby W.,
The best backpack that I've ever had. 5. 11 went a bit overboard, but that's okay. Shoulder straps are comfortable. Durable fabric. Plenty of storage, and more pockets than I know what to do with. I had difficulty making the purchase, due to the price, but it was worth it.
RaspundeSimen G.,
I had been operating with an old Jansport backpack (the kind that you just shove stuff in the main and front compartments and hope they don't all get mixed around and destroyed in there while you're walking around) for a few years, until I realized that I needed something more spatially efficient. And with this backpack, I have found exactly that. Where my old backpack had hard to open zippers that kept on getting stuck, these YKK zippers are nearly flawless, allowing me to open any compartment with ease. Where my old backpack forced me to cram everything in and hope for the best, the Rush 24 2. 0 saves me that trouble by allowing me to compartmentalize all my individual items in places that won't let them get crushed by others. I was able (just in the main compartment) to fit a laptop and my heavy winter jacket in the pack and still zip it up with ease, with plenty of extra stuff in the front compartment. I also enjoy greatly the compartments on the top, which allow me to fit my keys and phone in one side and a multitool (in its own case) in the other, without having to worry about my keys scratching up my phone, as there is a zippered mesh pocket and an open-topped fabric pocket in each half. One last thing I'll comment on is that if you've been having problems with your current backpack slipping around all over the place, or things in the backpack getting jumbled around and jamming into your back as you're running or jogging, the Rush 24 2. 0 deals with both those issues via an amazing chest-strap and removable plastic backplate. The chest strap alleviates almost all the pain that would normally go on your shoulders and neck almost as soon as you fasten it, and the backplate keeps things from jamming into your back and keeps the whole pack perfectly rigid. In summary, if your current backpack isn't working for you, try the Rush 24 2. 0. It's spatially efficient, water resistant, well-padded on the back and shoulders, and is highly modular due to the durable MOLLE webbing on the front and sides.

Travis W.,
Great pack with comfortable shoulder straps and internal stiffening frame. The only thing I don't get is why the small external pouch at the top is separated instead of one, bigger pouch with the internal pockets. They're almost too small to be useful and pouches this small really aren't even necessary with the dividers in the larger, external pouch. Other than that small issue, I really like this pack.
RaspundeWilliam H.,
Excellent for travel, great build quality, comfortable for running too. So many compartments and pockets if kind of feel like a thing is just gone if I forget where I stashed it. Very pleased with this bag.
RaspundeMontana,
Im beyond pleased with this bag! I love the design and quality of materials used. You think youve found all the storage compartments, but then youll find more! This bag is getting me through school and then out on 24 hr shifts. This bag is better than I imagined.
RaspundeChris C.,
This bag is the perfect size, I have the Rush 12 and 72 for specific purposes, but the Rush 24 37L is the absolute best size for EDC, travel and as a general purpose bag. Not too big and not too small plus has the added benefit of being able to use the wait belt strap when needed. If I would have gotten this bag first I likely would not have needed the others. 10/10 would recommend!!!
RaspundeAndrew,
I was gifted this at a work Christmas party a few days ago and have since moved my former bug-out bag contents to this one. It hold everything I had in the old bag and has room for even more. I've got med kits, tourniquets, fire starters, an axe, and more in this bag plus space for extra clothing, ammo and a pistol. I am blown away by the amount of pockets on this bag. The double tap color is fantastic. I'm a big fan of 5. 11 gear and this won't be my last bag.
RaspundeR,
Checked this out in the store. This pack would be a 100% perfect bag if it had a zipper on the top to directly access the laptop. The 4" of overhead fabric makes it difficult to put a laptop in and out of the pack. I'm refraining from buying for now, hoping 3.0 includes this feature.
RaspundeTre J.,
The 55L was to big, the 24L was extremely smallBut the 37L fit my needs perfectly, for range & travel!!
RaspundeJohn,
I have had my 24HR backpack since 2010. It has gone overseas twice to a not so nice place, has served me well on any instance over the last 14 years. What impresses me the most is the zippers. I am literally shocked after the abuse I put the bag through the zippers never fail. I highly recommend this bag; it does not disappoint!!
RaspundeAdam,
I work in IT and walk a half mile each way into work each day. The sternum and waist straps do great to distribute the weight. 4 stars. nnI just took a flight with two toddlers and had to carry their heavy ass car seats through the airport to check them at the gate and then off the plane to the rental car area while holding a toddler and rolling luggage and diaper backpack on the front I attached each car seat to a carabiner and then attached them to the mollee on each strap respectively. I didnt think it would hold- something shouldve ripped- those seats weigh about 30-40 pounds- but everything held up. My shoulders were bruised and my thighs were on fire but we had a successful travel day and the kids were still happy so yeah, 5 stars yall. Phenomenal product- still wear it every day. cant recommend enough. nnPS- its python colored and I had to buy aftermarket waist straps- they only had coyote, black or ODG. Either yall gotta sell me python or swap out my bag for an ODG one so I can match
RaspundeDan S.,

RaspundeB. C.,
Great bag for the outdoor and/or traveling. I use it to carry my everyday things as a truck driver. Sometimes the side pockets and zippers are tough to open if Im trying to reach for a snack or water. Side pockets will work better for me if they had no vertical zippers. Love the bag though!

Best backpack Ive owned thus far. The 1 day pack is just the right size for the majority of my uses. Highly recommend.

We all know that the Rush 24 is absolutely amazing. Rugged, Sturdy, practically Indestructible. This review is to answer a question many people have asked. Will it work as a personal item for Airline Travel? YES. (pictures attached). I have flown Spirit, Frontier, and (pictured here) Southwest. In photos I have the bag fairly packed out, slightly overstuffed and have added a few compression straps. However you can clearly see when packed accordingly, or not overstuffed it WILL fit underneath the airplane seat, functioning as a Personal Item when flying. For those, like myself, who are a strictly one bag travel person, the search for travel gear that has longevity can be a challenge. I truly hope that this review will help someone who is searching for their own one and done travel bag. I have included the dimensions below. The only non squishy part of this bag is the hydration pocket. At 17. Making it (packed accordingly) {17 x 12.5 x 8}. Using the admin pouch, respectively , {17 x12.5 x10} . nnFurther note, the dimensions of the bag are: nMain Compartment - 20" H x 12.5" L x 8" DnFront Pocket - 12.5 x 11 x 2nLaptop Sleeve - Fits up to a 15" laptopnHydration Pocket - 17 x 12.5 / 2-liternTotal Capacity - 2275 cubic inch / 37-liternWeight - 1.74 5kg / 3.85 lb
RaspundeSteve,
Overall it is a great pack but the fabric zipper pulls are weak and broke within a year of use. Cannot give 5 stars due to the cheap zipper pulls, otherwise it is a great back pack.

Great bag. Its my third one over the years. Havent found a better bag anywhere
RaspundeColby L.,
I have taken this backpack with me everywhere I gosurfing trips, snowboarding, rock climbing, hikes, camping, to school, and to the shooting range. After five years of use, this backpack has experienced zero wear and tear besides the zipper handles, which has been resolved by taking it to a 5.11 store and having them replaced. Besides that, not a scratch, tear, breaknothing. I have used cheap backpacks that wear out in mere months, yet the Rush 24 is worth the money because it will follow you for life. 5.11 understands durability and built a pack that will go wherever you need to go.
RaspundeDan M.,
My son bought this pack for me when we were in your Salt Lake City, Utah store 7 years ago. My wife and I have since retired and travelled to Europe, Ireland, Scotland, Scandanavia and the Baltic States as well as exploring the states out west. This has been my carry on bag as well as my hiking bag and my city walking tour bag. Soooo many organization pockets. Holds everything I need as well as leaving room for souvenir purchases. This bag still looks brand new and will always be my go to bag for travel.
RaspundeDylan,
The 5.11 Rush 24 backpack epitomizes tactical ingenuity, tailored to the specific demands of military and first responders at the forefront. Boasting a myriad of pockets, this pack offers unparalleled organization and accessibility for critical gear. From its spacious main compartment to its numerous smaller pockets and pouches, each element is strategically placed to optimize functionality in the field. Casual users may initially find the abundance of pockets perplexing, yet in tactical situations, this design ensures rapid retrieval of essential equipment without compromising operational efficiency. Whether it's the concealed hydration pocket ensuring operatives stay hydrated during prolonged missions or the fleece-lined sunglass pocket safeguarding eyewear in volatile environments, every feature serves a purpose. In essence, while the Rush 24 may appear over-engineered for everyday use like hiking or commuting, its tactical-centric design proves indispensable when split-second decisions can mean the difference between success and failure.
RaspundeWilliam P.,
Previous Rush 24 was bought 10 years ago, and has served me well as a field engineer. Traveling with me once a month with two laptops, ipad, headsets, tool battery, etc... Was happy to see that the pack is still made, and produced to the same quality. nNot to big and not to small... Fits well under airline seat, and has great pockets for all I need.
RaspundeMike T.,
I went on a backpack search after my RVCA pack ripped apart. Spent hours researching, purchased and returned around 10 packs. nThen I came across the 5.11 Rush 24 2.0, and this is it. Its made with quality materials, strong zippers, well thought out pockets, and the shoulder straps are perfectly built and extremely comfortable. nIm a boat captain that works on numerous different boats, yachts, and ships. Im very hard on my packs and they get salt water all over them and sometimes dragged across rough non-skid paint. This pack holds up great and is everything I was looking for. Ive already told many other captains and crew to grab one and you should too!nIf youre in SoCal they have a really nice retail store in Costa Mesa, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Ill be purchasing more of their products.

This is a great backpack; very sturdy and strong with comfortable shoulder straps, many interior pockets, and a strong laptop pouch.
RaspundeJohn M.,
This is the second backpack of this type I've had. I bought the first one about ten years ago. I used it almost daily and it was still holding up, until my dog gnawed the zipper. This is a great backpack -- very sturdy and well thought out -- and at a good price.
RaspundeHappy o.,
I bought my rush 24 about 10 or so years ago, and it is still my daily pack. It has held up exceptionally well and shows little wear and tear. I have had no issues with zippers or straps. It has been a real champ as far as durability and functionality. I cannot speak to the new design features, but the quality of my bag is definitely top notch. Granted, I am not using it for rough and tumble adventures in the great outdoors but I am absolutely pleased by the longevity of this bag compared to the numerous other brands I have used over the last 40 or so years. I can only hope that when (if) it need replacing that the newer design is just at functional and robust.
RaspundeMarienta T.,
I gave this as a gift and it was a major hit. Very spacious without looking bulky. He gets compliments on it whenever hes carrying it.
RaspundeSalvatore D.,
I purchased this pack because my older Rush 12 was insufficient to use for overseas trips as a carry on.nnI loved my Rush 12, using it for day trips and hikes. I expect the same of my new Rush 24. nnI would suggest adding six inches onto the shoulder straps. I maxed mine out and could use a bit more adjustment. I also would consider adding a hip belt for added carry support.
RaspundeLINDSAY R.,
The quality is what I expected. Perfect size for overnight or bug out bag. Plus it looks good. Thinking about ordering the other 2 sizes.
RaspundeGeoffrey Z.,
I purchased the bag to carry my gear as a Navy recruiter, the space and organization available has made it easy to carry my laptop, portable scanner and printer, and all my paperwork and materials. I love this bag and I'll keep coming to 5.11 first whenever I need hardworking gear
RaspundeThomas W.,
Great pack. Excellent material wellnCarrys well. Highly recommend
RaspundeJR F.,
Using it as a medic bag. After purchasing several bags, finally found one that holds what I need. Bag looks and feels well built.
RaspundeBrad,
When the original Rush24 was introduced, you could find brands of bottled water in 1L bottles that would fit the side pockets. They were tight but they fit. Now almost no 1L water bottles fit. 1L bottles are important if you are using standard 1L water purification tablets. For your 3.0 version of this bag, please lengthen the side pockets about an inch. You might want to even consider selling empty 1L plastic water bottles with standard 28mm threads and caps. There's a company here in the U.S. that makes 1L plastic bottles that fit the Rush24 side pockets but just barely. Also, when you put water bottles in the side pockets, they make big bulges in the inside of the main compartment reducing the available space in the main compartment. if you could make the side pockets "stand-off" the sides of the pack even an inch, this would free up a lot of space in the main compartment. Thanks.
RaspundeKevin K.,
Have the Rush 12 / 2.0 and it is anevery bit as amazing. Great product. Great construction. Amazing versatility. Would buy again and again.
RaspundeMerle F.,
Perfect to replace my original Rush 24 which now becomes by reserve
RaspundeAnthony J.,
Perfect EDC backpack. I use one for work and have no problems.
RaspundeJordan S.,
Very good quality pack. Comfortable to wear and it's just as advertised and the MOLLE attachment works great. I do wish the chest strap was located just a hair lower but that's getting a bit picky I guess.
RaspundeRobert,
My wife and I travel all over and this bag is it. We can fit 3-5 days worth of clothes and its perfect for carry on. I will never buy another bag!!!! Thank you 5.11
RaspundeThe F.,
My son loves it. Larger than we anticipated, but we should have known that. Great for back packing with the Scout troop.
RaspundeGuy W.,
the only thing that would make this pack better is an internal frame.nit meets all my needs for a day pack at work.nit's comfortable and so far it's durable and well organized.
RaspundeMiguel,
I first bought a black 37L back pack for work and its perfect! There are tons of pockets to organize your stuff, especially the small pocket on top. I bought a second pair, army green 37L as well and I use it for everything. I have used it for travel and as a baby bag. High quality material and the padding on the straps are comfortable. I recommended it to my colleagues and they bought the same bag and they liked it too! Good job 5.11!
RaspundeMike,
I absolutely love this bag. Lots of pockets, plenty of Molle, strong material, good zippers, slot for my 3L hydration bag, and best of all, the shoulder straps are very comfortable and contoured to fit just right. On a side note, the Ranger Green is the most special color I've seen yet. Very attractive color.
RaspundeBill F.,
Very well designed backpack. Lots of storage spaces. Good padding and comfortable to wear. Recommended by a friend and I would recommend it to anyone. High quality material and good price. The molle webbing makes for easy add ons to customize it how you want
RaspundeDiamon T.,
It do exactly what it's says in the description and more.
RaspundeNathan G.,
So much space! I love this backpack. As a student in the trades it holds everything I need such as my Chromebook, all of my books, a hacksaw and several other tools, calculator, pens/pencils/ruler and water, all my electrical charging devices as backpack and emergency medication while still having room for more!
RaspundeCory A.,
Another outstanding addition to my collection. Always great quality and built for the challenge.
RaspundeJacob C.,
Great product! Works well for what I needed it for. Really well constructed for a go bag/range bag.
RaspundeMike L.,
Perfect bag for traveling. Fits enough for 3 days and is perfect size to go carry on for flight. Not too big and not to small. Also the back hudration slot is perfect for my Dell precision laptop. Its fully protected snd accesible and kind of hidden. Love all the pockets as well. Best purchase in a while.
RaspundeDejan F.,
Great backpack. Just the right size for day pack. Designed vert well and tough.
RaspundeLord C.,
I really like this bag! I carry it every day for work and have only had it for about a month but so far I like it. The zippers are nice and sturdy, fabrics are strong, the bag is sturdy and doesnt flop over, has lots of spots for storing gear and the padding is nice and comfortable. Overall it seems like a great purchase.
RaspundeSteven G.,
Great bag. Well thought out. Quality construction. I have both the 37L and the 55L and love them both
RaspundeJames D.,
My new 5.11 RUSH 37L pack is Excellent. The quality is great, there are so many pockets, I am still thinking about programming the pack This is definitely the ultimate Go mission pack I hope that our Heroes and Fighters are using this pack The only thing I have to figure out is getting my 17 in the pack (my problem, not 5.11s problem). I love this pack already and I have not even used it yet ! Thank You 5.11 ! !
RaspundeRoss C.,
Just got this pack. Solidly built but I cant truly evaluate it yet.
RaspundeNathan C.,
Great Pack. This meets the need I intended it for. Size is perfect. I have (2) Rush 72 packs and needed a smaller one for work. Organization pockets in this unit is fantastic.
RaspundeDoug B.,
Well-made, great quality of materials, and the Craftsmanship seems to be extremely well done so far!
RaspundeJames,
I've had the original version of the rush 24 for about 5 years with minimal lasting damage. Different loadout about every 2 months. Yesterday I got a call from my parents asking if I can bring them a flat of water to a local island (they got fuel in the water tank somehow). I'm limited to a backpack on this trip, and managed to cram 30 bottles (16.9oz) in this thing with room to spare. I'm planning on upgrading to the 2.0 soon, maybe even the rush72. But the rush24 is still serviceable. I'll be keeping it a a backup.
RaspundeChristopher I.,
This bag is top notch! I travel to work in the Gulf of Mexico and I need a durable quality backpack. This bag fits the bill all day long!
RaspundeDina M.,
It has plenty of pockets and very sturdy! I love the color! Glad I finally purchased one!
RaspundeRandy S.,
Great range/tac back pack nTake it everywhere I go nLots of pockets to store what you need nI keep ammo, first aid ,tools , and much more in this bad boy
RaspundeGreg C.,
I purchased this Backpack for work to replace my worn out one. I am very impressed with the quality and utility of this pack. 5.11 never disappoints in the quality of their products so I am not surprised at all.nPlenty of versatile pockets to customize my gear. Storage compartments give beau coup room for larger stuff. The laptop storage is very protected and well placed not interfering with the large storage area. Straps are super comfortable and distribute load very well which is important to me since I have had multiple neck surgeries. It looks great and I am confident it will function as well as it looks.n5.11 came through again!
RaspundeKenneth M.,
Solid construction but I would have preferred multiple larger pockets
RaspundeEmiliano,
This exact backpack lasted me 5 years of constant use without any sort of tears. I would highly recommend this for its high quality.
RaspundeM D.,
I received the Rush 24 in black for Christmas. Its built well and has plenty of storage. My main purpose for the 24 is to use it as a carryon. I am very happy with it.
RaspundeNathaniel M.,
Would be 5 stars, but it is very expensive. It is high quality, seems very durable, ND has tons of spaces for organization, but I don't think that I got my money's worth. Still, if you want the best tactical backpack on the market, this may be the one.
RaspundeMargaret D.,
A lot of room to put several items. I recently took it on a trip, instead of lugging around a suitcase!
RaspundeClint H.,
I have been using this bag for almost 2 years now. I'm in the IT field and carry Laptops and tools on a daily basis, it holds everything I need and then some. On the weekends I use it to carry all my stuff to sporting evens, day trips and vacations. I'm out of the military now but I know it would hold up for tactical trips and deployments too. The zipers are bad ass and can take everyday abuse with no problem. nnThe only thing I would do differently is add a bottle holder which I did on my own with a Molle pack
RaspundeRobert G.,
No drain holes. I don't have a need for space for a laptop.......
RaspundeZsolt S.,
I have been using this backpack for over a year almost every day and still going strong. Comfortable, sturdy and more than enough room for a laptop, clothing, food or whatever else! Highly recommended!
RaspundeEnriko U.,
I love using this bag for 12+ hour shifts, it carries all that I need and Im still left with a lot of real estate in the bag and outside of the bag as I do not have many pouches attached to it, Ive had this bag for 4 years now, it may not be the 2.0, but I still love it, quality is still really good after being used and abused, still comfortable and reliable, and just an overall good pack.
RaspundeRachel A.,
Comfy on your arms. Fits a ton. Very sturdy. Looks badass. Lots of nice places to customize and make your own.
RaspundeAaron D.,
Perfect for daily use. Lightweight and not too bulky.
RaspundeAndrew,
The best backpack I've ever had. And I'm sure that you can't find an even better backpack. Sturdy, comfortable, thoughtful and looks great.
RaspundeJames s.,
Amazing product !!! This is my second 5-12 rush bag . So many compartments and great quality !!!
RaspundeLeland M.,
Awesome Backpack! Can't say anything bad about it. Kangaroo color is a little darker than pictured but the backpack is great
RaspundeShaheer K.,
Excellent build quality, practical and rugged!
RaspundeBryan W.,
Well constructed. Holds a decent amount of gear and has been comfortable lugging around for my useage. In hindsight I would have gone with the Rush 72 for the small price difference and upgrade in size and utility. I am happy with this for now.
RaspundeAndrew,
It has the perfect amount of space for everyday things you would need on the field and range, the quality of the backpack is amazing.
RaspundeDavid L.,
Outstanding functionality. It saved me checking luggage, combined with a small ruck.
RaspundeDaron S.,
Good quality, works as expected. I would say the dimensions of the compartment sizes are a little off, close though. I would cut about an inch off the size the web site states.
RaspundeJustin R.,
I love the ruggedness and durability. I Travel allot, and need a bag that can carry all my computer equipment, as well as a spare change of cloths. This is the perfect size, with a great amount of pockets and storage space. This is the 2nd I bought. My first if my range bag for shooting.
RaspundeHeath,
I purchased this bag a few years ago after seeing it at a store. The tag advertised it was good for smaller framed people, which was a selling point since I am only 63". I have hiked numerous times with this bag and taken this bag on dozens of trips for work. I love that it has small pockets inside the bag that keeps everything organized. Even when it is loaded down heavily, it is not uncomfortable to carry for long periods of time. The laptop compartment is great for keeping my computer protected without having to carry it in a separate bag. I like the side pockets, I only wish they were a little bit bigger to fit my large Hydroflask. I don't like using hydration pouches, so I don't really use that feature of the bag. The best part about traveling with this bag is that it will fit under airplane seats and overhead compartments even when fully packed. I frequently travel with back up clothing and hygiene items in case my luggage goes missing. The bag fits perfectly on the plane with me and stores up to multiple outfits, with room to spare for my extra items as well. If you're on the fence, just buy it!
RaspundeGennaro S.,
Purchased in Miami from Italy, hope the quality of these stuffs will exceed my expectations.nThe material looks superb, a friend which worked for the Navy Seals suggested me these brand.nCross fingers.
RaspundeOmar S.,
Backpack delivers exactly what it promises. Lightweight but sturdy. Great material, looks great and a ton of organizational possibilities that dont end up limiting usable space like some bags do.
RaspundeEM,
Just needed a bigger bag to haul 2-3 40oz water bottles because I refuse to pay for potable water at work and workout clothes, lunch bag, laptop at times, Bible, and notebook. This bag does it all well and after year taking it to work everyday and vacations no issues. Pocket design works for my needs. Reason for 4 stars is that it needs a water bottle holder inside and outside. 5.11 tried with side pockets but they are too narrow and somewhat useless. I attached one but for us urban warriors, a built-in water holder on the outside would be awesome. A water bottle slot on the inside would be nice when the pack only has a few items and you don't want things moving around. I saw a similar bag with internal water bottle holders so I know it's doable. All in all, this bag is 110% better than anything issued when I was in the service decades ago and is now a necessary part of my life. Thanks 5.11 for a superb product.
RaspundeJames B.,
Lots of pockets, easy access, just fits the laptop, camel pack pocket is a good idea.
RaspundeJohn S.,
Good, quality pack. Purchased as an EDC Go bag. Holds a good amount of stuff. Would definitely recommend.
RaspundeDanny G.,
Best backpacks we've ever bought. Almost every member of our family has now received a 5.11 backpack as a gift from us, and everyone love's the quality, style, and ruggedness of these backpacks.
RaspundeJean-Marc T.,
I hesitated for a long time spending the extra money on a 5:11 backpack.nTime will tell but the construction looks great and I am very pleased with the product and comfort so far
RaspundeAlberto G.,
Great backpack, has been holding up in the job sites as well for school.
Raspundearies w.,
Great EDC! A pocket for just about everything you can place in it and more.
RaspundeScott B.,
I had 24 for years and thought I wanted to change to the messenger bag. Nope right back to the rush and this one is even better than the first. Still finding compartments on this bag. Carries everything I need plus things I may need.
RaspundeClayton K.,
Love everything about the bag! The compartments are perfect size for any occasion. The look and feel are great. Its fits all my needs.
RaspundeJose A.,
Solid bag, its the perfect size for me. Im in law enforcement and I use this bag as my duty bag/edc bag. I bought a water bottle attachment and attached it in the side. You can do so much with this bag. I highly recommend especially if your going to use it daily. Dont skimp out and get a cheaper bag go with this bag you wont regret it. The quality is top not. Is was constructed to last a long time. Plenty of room to organize everything.
RaspundeMatt R.,
Like all my other 5.11 bags, well thought out. Very durable. Another go-to bag in my arsenal.
RaspundeMorgan B.,
Super impressed with this bag. Its going to be great for my deployment. Absolutely love all the pockets/compartments.
RaspundeBryan S.,
Fantastic backpack. Love all the compartments, and comfortable straps. Great for heavy laods.
RaspundeShawn S.,
A great pack. I have the new pack and one a couple of years older and its interesting to see the improvements 5.11 Tactical has seen fit to include in this years model, such as improved eyewear storage and hidden CCW compartment. The color double tap fits right in an urban environment.
RaspundeJohn D.,
Fantastic bag. I use it on my passenger seat in my squad car. Plenty of pockets and storage space for all of your needs. The main compartment is big enough to fit large binders, my raincoat, and traffic vest. Great bag for the price. I have been through several backpacks and the quality 5.11 has over the competition is no comparison. Ill be getting some external pouches next for more admin storage.
RaspundeJohn A.,
Ive purchased my ranger green rush 24 about five years ago for work and as use for a range bag. I can tell you that after five years the bag has held up great with no problems and issues. The bag itself has stuck with me for the last three jobs and was more than suitable in performance outside or indoors. The overall capacity of the 24 is great with many pockets and storage arrangements. I enjoy this backpack and its usefulness nearly everyday whether for trips, work, and the gym. The quality, storage, and usefulness associated with this bag is unparalleled to anything i have bought in the past. I would recommend this bag for those looking for extra storage and a flexible platform.
RaspundeChristi E.,
Very well made!! Love this bag!! The material is super sturdy and holds everything I need it to hold!!
RaspundeMike,
I found that my array of water bladder bags didn't hold the gear I needed for a day hike. Or if they did it was limited to small and simple things, like a thin jacket and I ran out of water anyway.nnI did a lot of reading, watching, and reviewing specs on an array of day packs. Kelty, CamelBak, Maxpedition, Fox Tactical, etc., and found I kept coming back to the Rush 24 and using it as the basis for my wants/needs in a bag.nnI love the adaptability of the MOLLE, the internal pocket systems, and the fact it holds a 3 liter bladder. I have yet to find myself short on things I need or water to drink.nnI've added a pair of Rothco MOLLE water bottle pouches in the side. The lower interior pocket in the main compartment is great for a poncho, plenty of places for MOLLE bags for things like first aid, a tourniquet, or attaching trekking poles or snowshoes.nnI have probably 60-70 miles on this bag over 15-20 hikes. It's extremely comfortable, wears well, and goes in an off easily without getting hung up on a bunch of stuff. Hoping to invest in a Rush 100 and utilizing the tier system to have this as extra storage and a day pack in camping trips.
RaspundeJohn H.,
I Purchased this because of its durable construction and versatility of add-ons if I needed them later. The Layout is overall pretty good. The hydration pouch area is perfect for an iPad. However, the laptop pouch is very snug, even for a 15 inch model and is a bit tough to access. The advantage though is if you can get your laptop in the pouch, it would be very difficult to get it out accidentally or if going through a security screen. I would make it a bit easier to get it in and out. The cross chest strap is a bit high for my liking, but OK. The Molle system allows a lot of extra capability and flexability to the backup.
RaspundeJustin K.,
I have the old version and the 2.0. I use it for field work and traveling the airport so my review is about both uses. It did not exactly improve the laptop compartment. It would be better if the laptop compartment was an exterior independent zip compartment similar to the badder zip compartment. If it was external it would prevent all of my gear from falling out while trying to retrieve the laptop. The Velcro concealed pocket is an improvement though. Additionally, it would be nice to have a strap to slide the bag onto carry on luggage. Just my two cents.
RaspundeCraig,
Recently purchased this bag and have used it a few times. Overall it is pretty great. It is comfortable to carry and it holds a lot of stuff. If I were to point out one flaw, it is the laptop pouch. n1. it isn't quite big enough for the advertised 15" laptop. It needs to be about 1/2 inch deeper.n2. the laptop slot is at the back of the main compartment, which is fine, except it is difficult to get the laptop in and out if the bag has stuff in it...ideally, to make this bag better, they should remove the "eyeglass pouch" and replace it with a wide zipper at the back of the pack that would allow easier access to the laptop.nMake this change, and it would be darn near perfect
RaspundeGlenn G.,
Well made quality pack. The only down side is that It has a tendency to fall forward when loaded. I had to put a rectangular piece of plastic in the bottom to help level it out.
RaspundeJosh,
I have had my backpack for over 8 months now, and it has held up well for anything from trail hiking to carrying it to class. The concealed carry pouch is awesome, plus the admin panel helps a ton with organization. Would 100% recommend buying one, this is by far my favorite backpack!
RaspundeArit E.,
I just wish that it had at least one more large compartment instead of just the one large one with the smaller compartment in the front. Otherwise, overall pleased. Color is really nice.
RaspundeRussell W.,
Hands down the best backpack ever made! It has ever pocket that you could ever want.
RaspundeGary C.,
Very well constructed and replete with pockets and compartments.
RaspundeGeoffrey B.,
High Quality with ample storage and compartments
RaspundeJohn S.,
I purchased this backpack (37L). Looks great, good size. The salesperson said it was popular with business travelers. HOWEVER, it does not have a "trolley sleeve" in the back, so it doesn't slip over the handle of my roll-aboard. There are convoluted twists and clips to attach it to the handle, but what a pain! I sent a note to 5-11 HQ and hope they will consider a redesign in the future
RaspundeDan W.,
excellent product which functions exactly as advertised
RaspundeVictor J.,
Perfect for work, range, and the field. Plenty of storage for everything I need throughout any agenda. Now going to buy the holster for the conceal carry pocket.
RaspundeAdrian M.,
Very good quality and with enough space for the things I occupy in various activities and very practical
RaspundeJonathan,
I love this backpack! So much space and extremely comfortable and easy for organization
RaspundeKathy S.,
This is a great backpack. Its really made well. I am not worried about treating if rough. I think it can handle whatever you throw at it
RaspundeDerek C.,
This bag is extremely versatile. Just returned from a 10 day trip with it. The storage and functionality exceeded my expectations. Easy to pack and locate items. Everything was secure. My gear was protected and easy to transport. Highly recommend!
RaspundeAmerigo W.,
Overall your company makes great gear that needed to preform in certain work environments.nId recommend 5.11 brand to anyone. As far as quality and comfort goes.nNow as for the price, I think 5.11 would not be top choice when it comes down to competition with a whole lot of other companies. nnHeads up 5.11! Use the Frank Lucas method and not only will you dominate the competition , but youll make more money as well.
RaspundeChristopher L.,
This is my first experience with this style of backpack. Bought it to replace my old driver bag. Which was a t-bag I bought thru Harley Davidson. I was well over due to replace it. Switching everything over from one bag to another I noticed I do have a lot more room for everything I need with space to spare. With other reviews I've been reading it looks like I won't have any problems other than normal wear and tear.
RaspundeChristopher P.,
My second Rush24. First one I bought finally started showing signs of breaking down after over 10 years of continuous use. Four trips cross country. Every vacation, business trip and everything in between. This 2.0 version has some slight design changes to accommodate todays needs and the materials and build show the same quality and functionality as my first bag.
RaspundeJames J.,
Lots of room and places to put things, carries well and is well made.
RaspundeRoy,
I purchased the RUSH24 2.0 Backpack 37L from Sheares Technologies Pte Ltd, a 5.11 Authorized Dealer in Singapore on 26 April 2021.nnAfter using it for over a year, I absolutely love this pack. The RUSH24 2.0 37L is an all rounder Backpack suitable for Everyday Carry, and for Travelling. Yes, it is slightly too big for Everyday Carry, but it is the perfect Backpack for travelling needs, packing enough for a 5 day trip with room to spare. I personally feel the RUSH24 2.0 is the most "balanced" Backpack among the RUSH Backpacks (among RUSH12, RUSH24, RUSH72 and RUSH100). It is no surprise the RUSH24 is the best seller among the RUSH Backpacks.nnConstruction, Stitching, Materials, Comfort and Durability are all top notch, at this price point, which makes it value for money. I have confidence the RUSH24 2.0 will serve me well in the years to come and will be one of my favorite Backpack companion.
RaspundeSteve C.,
Great bag, just bought the upgraded one to compliment the 10 year old one I have used for years. Love the computer sleeve and front CCW pocket (fits an11" iPad Pro perfectly).
RaspundeOai P.,
Good backpack. The pack seem to be sturdy and well built. The chest strap needs to be able to move up and down to adjust for different body size. The small top outer pocket needs to change some other pocket. Removed the 2 cinch down strap on the outside. Those are extra strap and just get in the way. (I have cut my off)
RaspundeCody B.,
I'm enjoying every aspect of this bag, I use it for work and hunting. Very well built bag.
RaspundeNinja579,
The bag is just what an officer needs for work or going to the range. You can organize your daily work equipment or put everything for the range expect the long gun and feel comfortable.
RaspundeTravis M.,
Awesome backpack! Glad I made the decision to go with this one. Will by another sometime if need be.
RaspundeDerrick B.,
Great backpack!!Super durable. I take it with me everywhere. By far, the best backpack that I have ever owned.
RaspundeEric F.,
Great backpack with plenty of pockets and features. I wish 5.11 would have sent me a patch as a thank you for my purchase. One item to point out is how small the computer pocket seems to be for a 15 computer. Regardless, this backpack is well made, sturdy, and versatile. Great workmanship with quality materials. Love this pack.
RaspundeCaeden,
I bought a ranger green one a year ago the Best Backpack I have ever had. (Wish they had one in a woodland pattern)
RaspundeCharles M.,
I didnt know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and detail of this bag. Its has tons of pockets and plenty of options to make it personalized to your needs! I wouldnt hesitate to buy other products from 5.11 and recommend to anyone that asks! Very good price for what you are getting, and amazing customer service too!
RaspundeCameron B.,
I bought this to use as a shooting bag. It has plenty of pockets and pouches to put just about anything you need for shooting. It has places for patches and I am excited to use it to its full extent and put it to the test.
RaspundeJeremiah S.,
This is a very good bag but some small changes could make it great. The top two small outer compartments are too small. Combining them into one (same as the larger bag) would be more useful. It has a fleece lined pocket on top. However, if you put a laptop in the sleeve in the main compartment it hits the sleeve. So anything in the soft pouch would be crushed or hit the laptop. The bag is sturdy and well made. The zippers never snag.
RaspundeBob,
Just bought this back after trying to find a military type bag. I love all the pockets and the size is perfect for my business travels since it has a laptop area. I e bought tumi backpacks in the past but this one is by far the best one over those very expensive ones. I love this one a lot better.
Raspundetmak,
I own rush 72 and 12 but not 24 because of the split top pocket. I wish the new version will give it a pocket that is similer to the 12 or 72 one. 24 earns actually 4.5 stars.
RaspundeMike C.,
Perfect bag for back and forth to work with all my stuff. Fits a ton and doesnt look like a huge rucksack!
RaspundeKim C.,
This is my 2nd bag since someone borrowed my first one and loved it so much that I never got it back. I live the design, the multiple pockets and hideaways, the durability and all other things 5.11 about the bag. I wont be loaning this one out!
RaspundeJesse R.,
Great backpack, heavy duty keeps its shape well and for the size it does carry a lot of stuff I do love the CCW compartment. Very happy with my purchase as always thank you 511 for always making great products
RaspundeScott,
Ive had this bag for over2.5 years and it looks as good as it did on day 1. I carry this pack for work every day. Outstanding durability and construction. The zippers are still looking brand new. Tons of room for day to equipment thats easy to access. Definitely worth the money and Ill buy nothing but 5.11 packs again. Thats if this one ever wears out.
RaspundePeter D.,
511 Are the best back-packs I have ever owned. I now own five of them. Everyone in my house uses them as there bug-out bags.
RaspundeShawn T.,
High quality backpack, recommended to me by other scouting leaders who showed me how to configure it for use for all the gear we have to carry on an outing. Very roomy, lots of space. The strap holders at the bottom allow me to carry a backpack and tent externally so I can use this for a 1-2 night car camping trip (when I don't have to lug the food, water and cooking equipment in the backpack).
RaspundeNJA22,
Ive been carrying the same rush 24 for well over a decade every week as an airline pilot. This bag hangs from my roller board and has seen millions of miles and heavy abuse. Everything on this pack still functions perfectly as it did day one. I cant believe the zippers are still functioning to be honest. Im hoping they introduce a black multi cam rush 24 so I can get a new one! I think it took around 5 years to break in as its pretty heavy duty.
RaspundeJeffrey S.,
Awesome quality. Fantastic bag. Find new secret departments every day
RaspundeHosier L.,
So far, the internal organization is great. Hopefully it will work as a carry-on while traveling as it seems a bit big. Otherwise, it's well built. Question: to use as a backpack, why don't you sell a padded waist belt (that's removable)?
RaspundeB. P.,
I love 5.11 stuff but there is a design flaw that is unforgivable on these backpacks. Whoever designed the computer sleeve (yes the pocket you have to slide stuff in to all the time) to have a huge seam and lip on the inside should be fired immediately! Other than thatgreat bag.
RaspundeFrank M.,
This backpack is made very well. It has a lot of pockets. Comfortable straps. I highly recommend.
RaspundeSteve B.,
Just purchased the backpack along with a pistol holster. The material and workmanship is of high quality, as you would expect. The CCW area is really concealed! I had ask the clerk to show it to me. I wanted something I could stuff for a 1, 2 or 3 day trip with easy access. This pack is perfect! I also want to offer kudos to the San Antonio store, great staff and plenty of stock.
RaspundeScott C.,
5.11 gear screams quality! The Rush 24 is the perfect balance for EDC and carry on travel bag for flights. Lots of pouches for storage and organization.nnI own the Rush 12 and Rush Delivery Lima as well, great bags that have never let me down.
RaspundeLyle E.,
Great quality and material, it gets thrown in the back of a construction truck every morning, and still looks good. Love the front pockets to organize Personal items, and the big main compartment can hold a hard hat, gloves, and extra change of clothes.
RaspundeBernardo B.,
I am very satisfied with the speed with which the purchase was sent, regarding the backpack I am very satisfied it is of excellent quality like all the articles of the 5.11 brand
RaspundeMatthew J.,
Excellent backpack! Quality made and the organization is great. It is a little heavy but that is to be expected with something that is so durable. Love it.
RaspundeRoss U.,
Plenty of storage for just about any situation. I use them for work, traveling (as a carry on), and the gun range. Easily customized with molle strap packs or anything else that can fit the molle loops. I keep my Leatherman strapped to it when working in the field.
RaspundeSteven B.,
I purchased this tactical backpack because of its capacity to hold stuff and I love the various pockets and compartments, I also love these extra pockets for carrying your weapon, computer, and anything else, but I really enjoy the chest strap to balance the backpack. It is very sturdy and versatile. It does not feel very heavy when carrying it on your back, it feels solid and sturdy, like I said the chest strap makes a great difference compared to other backpacks that pull on your shoulders and you feel the weight of the load. It is easy to put on and take off. I highly recommend this tactical backpack.
RaspundeRobert323,
Amazing this bag has been across the world and i just went backpacking with it . A little small for what i was doing but I packed it to the gills and it held. I will never get another brand , hope you guys will always make the same quality product
RaspundeJerryll G.,
I had the first version, still do, for about 10 years if I'm not mistaken! This new one is nice. I prefer the old, but I'm imagining it's just what I'm used to. Plenty of pockets, comfortable to wear. nNeeds a better sternum strap and a waist strap. Also, if the pockets didn't interfere with the main pocket, it'd be better. Once you load side pockets, interior room is limited. As well as any other pocket, hinders space within. My other grip is once the outside pockets are loaded, the outer of the bag is heavy, furthest from your back, so doesn't carry like it should, and the front part becomes extremely heavy and doesn't allow the bag to be as easily accessible. Great bag though. One of the best edc backpack on the market. This zipper on the 2.0 is crisper and I think the fabric is thinner.
RaspundeParviz A.,
It looks reliable so far, it can hold my notebook, books and lunch pack comfortably.
RaspundeRobert E.,
Perfect size and fit. Great bag for daily use and short trips. Best backpack Ive ever had.
RaspundeAntonino B.,
Construction is sturdy, and design is both attractive and functional. I chose this bag for work, which can be a rough and harsh environment on equipment and people, in all weather conditions, all months of the year. I expect it will outlast me and my job! Not only will I recommend this style to anyone, especially in my industry, but I also intend to purchase from 5.11 again. A superb and versatile product, that handles abuse and the elements on the outside, and a wide array of equipment and accoutrements on the inside, easily. Absolutely worth the price. Shipping was surprisiny quick, too.
RaspundeMichael H.,
Other than being made by the oppressed people in China. It is well made and exceeded my expectation on the quality of the materials and the stitching.
RaspundeFuad K.,
Used this backpack for my European vacaton. Used it as a carry-on bag, never challenged once by the airline as not a carry-on fit. Packs at least 2 weeks of clothes. I wish the laptop pouch/enclosure could be accessed from the outside. Had to unzip the bag to take out my ipad passing security in Germany. Didn't use the water bladder as I had my water bottle in the bagpack. Really like this backpack for 2 wk vacation. I recommend this backpack for global travel.
RaspundeJon R.,
Fits the general needs perfectly. There is plenty of room without being bulky.
RaspundeChoung-Hyun K.,
Perfect backpack, it has what you needed. I recommend bought Rush24 and Rush72.nRush24 is good to use daily, 72 can contain most stuff for long range travel.nI highly recommended.
RaspundeNick S.,
No review necessary , these little rucks speak for themselves .
RaspundeJOSE J.,
I just purchased this bag about two weeks ago and can't rave enough about it. This Bag Rocks! Space for DAYS, pockets for days, and man - for an EDC bag, bug out bag, hiking or camping back - you can certainly feel secure about fitting all your essentials. Solid construction, feels great on the shoulders, and tons of ways to modify it. I am still learning this bag. Thank you 5.11 for a great product..!
RaspundeGeorge R.,
Rugged, looks great, and the compartments are fantastic for organization. Heavy while empty in my opinion but remains comfortable. To bad you cant use all the compartments when filling the bag because they end up blocking each other
RaspundeFrank H.,
I ordered my Rush24 backpack online and received it fairly quick. The backpack is everything I expected it would be, high quality, perfect size, and very practical. I am very satisfied with this product and I will be buying the Rush12 as well.
RaspundeRAYMOND N.,
Excellent quality. Love all the zipper pockets. I carry it everyday
RaspundeEric M.,
I've got 2 of your backpacks and they're built quite well. My only gripe/change would be to the shoulder straps. I always loosen one strap to get the pack off/on and then snug that strap up. Problem is that it can be quite hard to get a grip on the strap once it's tucked up into the plastic buckle and then try and snug it up... if that makes sense? I have a couple older backpacks that have plastic O-Ring's sowed to the end of their straps and they're EASY to grab in a hurry or w/just one hand to loosen/snug up. The stitched ends on the 5.11 packs are not easy to grab for me. Otherwise they packs are very nice and I have zero complaints!!
RaspundeTim J.,
Perfect size. Well made. Lots of individual spaces. Comfortable to use. Love it!
RaspundeJustin T.,
Exactly what I was looking for!! Love the organizational aspect of it; a pocket for everything without being excessive. Wish the laptop pry was easier to access, but pros far out at the cons for me.
RaspundeRobert D.,
I really like the bag. Lots of pockets lots of storage. Still finding new pockets to put stuff in.
RaspundeJustin P.,
I have owned this bag and two of the Rush 72 bags for several years. I use them for travel, back country hiking/scouting, hunting and pretty much where ever I go. I trust the strength of these bags over any of the other bags I have owned and I have no fear of the bag failing in any situation. The zippers are smooth and snag free and very durable and the options of gear storage are limitless. The only drawback to these bags is the weight. They are very heavy but that is just a trade off when you add the extreme strength that they offer. I will be buying the smaller Rush 12 soon.
RaspundeJordan M.,
Great bag, lots of space and organization, seems durable.
RaspundeJulius C.,
Excellent build, the material is just as high quality as youd expect from 5.11 bags and tactical/range/duty purpose bags. The space inside, pockets, laptop chamber, and sun glass pocket just for example; make this bag especially great for range day/ general travel. The gear has great zippers, ergonomics for a 63 body frame and also accommodates the shoulder area well. I would recommend this bag for all purpose and it is certainly my favorite piece of 5.11 gear!!!
RaspundeNathaniel R.,
This is an amazing backpack! Constructed well and makes it easy to organize my things. The concealed pouch is also very useful.
RaspundeKyle m.,
Everything is quality, the bag goes with me every were. The base of the bag could be more sturdy but overall a good bag
RaspundeNicholas G.,
Its the perfect carry-on for people, like me, that dont bring check-in luggage on week-long trips.
RaspundeDarrell L.,
Everything about this backpack is awesome except it could use more padding on the shoulders.
RaspundeTroy P.,
Best backpack I have ever owned. So many pockets, very well built. I also love the colors they come in.
RaspundeKevin M.,
Love it, i had the old one and I liked it, this is so muck more improved. Bigger pockets! The integrated a concealed carry pocket also which is genius.
RaspundeTaylor D.,
Well designed pack. High quality construction and comfortable. Wish it had a compartment for a water bottle and the optional waist strap. Ignoring those wanted features, I would give it a 5/5!
RaspundeJoseph R.,
This is my first 5.11 backpack and it was exactly what I was looking for in durability and storage. I like many individual pockets to store my gear and I can see this pack lasting me 15 years.
RaspundeGeorge J.,
The pack is well made. The material is tough compared to the material of the Large Alice I carried in the Pine Forest of Fort Bragg. I have the Rush 72 as well. Both are quite comfortable. The 37L has room to pack enough items to accommodate my needs beyond 24 hours.
RaspundeAli F.,
Bought the gray because this is going to be both a business travel backpack and a camping backpack. I've done both so far and I love the size and organization. The durable construction means it won't start tearing or fraying from all the movement.
RaspundeMartin D.,
Fantastic, using it to go to work in the Pentagon. Plenty of pockets to easily get things out on metro when needed, great amount of room inside it. Bought a different water bottle carrier than 5.11 sells to attach to side, tightens at top to hold thinner bottles easily. Wish I had this backpack a long time ago.
RaspundeDavid K.,
Awesome backpack with huge capacity and virtually a functional slot for every tool you could have on you.nIt is made of quality material, has a good structure - the hold on its own even when empty. nThe size of the straps is easily adjustable.nI like the separate water bottle compartment on both sides.
RaspundeWinfield B.,
I needed a backpack with enough room to carry stuff when riding my Harley. This backpack meet the challenge and then some !
RaspundeAddison C.,
This this is great! I purchased my first one about 7 years ago and got this one for one of my children. It is rugged and lasts. The fabric doesnt stretch or rip easily and it can hold a ton of stuff.
RaspundeMaksym Z.,
I like this backpack. Very comfortable to wear and it has a good organizer.nIt has mounts for a belt, but there is no belt.nAnd I need to find some belt for the heavy stuff.
RaspundeJonathan R.,
Well put together. I'm lugging 20 pounds of equipment and it is comfortable. Straps have good contours that line up well. Lots of pockets that I don't even use them all but they are there.
RaspundePeter P.,
Got my RUSH@4 backpack a couple weeks ago and can't wait to take it out on a real trip soon! I tested by filling it with about 30 lbs of books to walk around for an hour or so to deliver to local free libraries in my neighborhood and it felt solid and comfortable. Love all the pockets and especially the laptop sleeve which fits my Macbook Pro 15" perfectly.
RaspundeSpencer K.,
Great quality, no regrets so far. Worth the extra $$ over competitors.
RaspundeRobert F.,
Really like this bag. I originally got the RUSH72 bag as an emergency "go" bag as it's recommended to have a "go" bag where I live. Once I saw how nice the RUSH72 was I had to pick it up last time they had a sale. nnThe durability of this thing is insane. It's like you just know that thing is going to last 30 years.nnMy only feedback to 5.11 and wish in the future is they make a bag in-between the size of the RUSH24 and the 12. I kinda had to get the 24 because I am carrying a laptop that would not otherwise fit in the 12 but if there was something a bit smaller than the 24 it'd probably be ideal for me. Honestly not a huge deal though, once you close the side clips it compresses things and makes it a bit smaller.
Raspundeenmanuel v.,
Outstanding piece of gear. Just the right size for daily use and with enough storage space and compartments for quick and easy access to everything. You pay for quality and quality is delivered.
RaspundeLee M.,
511 makes the best pack packs. I have different sizes of the Rush backpacks. The Rush24 2.0 is amazing. The functionality is fantastic and the overall quality and durability is second to none.
RaspundeRoger F.,
I use the Rush24 2.0 on my motorcycle. Im a big guy so sizing is always an issue. It fits well and distributs the weight better then any purpose built mortorcycle backpack I've ever owned. I use it every day so the quality and top line materials will lastsnfor many years.
Raspundesteve b.,
Freaking love it all kinds of pockits all around best bag. I will have for along time I use it every day love it. Well worth the money
RaspundeTiffany S.,
I love this bag!! It fits everything but I do think they need another buckle to strap around the waist instead of just the chest.
RaspundeRoberto G.,
Excellent backpack. Exactly what I need for work and camping. Solid quality and smart organization. If anything, I'm mad I waited a few years before replacing my old backpack.
RaspundeJohn E.,
I bought the 72 for myself and the 37 for my wife. She love the feel of the pack and loves all the pockets for organization of her do dads. This when we go to different places to hike she knows where everything is.
RaspundeRocky L.,
Super high quality. Durable. Plenty of storage. Extremely comfortable to wear.
RaspundeChristopher L.,
Great pack! bought both 24, and a 72 because I wasnt sure which size was going to be the best fit. Wife fell in love with the 24 which was fine as i was keeping both.
RaspundeDaniel B.,
Absolutely love this backpack. I am currently working hybrid for work. This bag hold everything I need securely and comfortably. Also conceals my EDC. I've always been happy with 5.11's quality!
RaspundeWilliam H.,
Best bag I have ever owned - love it use it everyday - big enough but not oversized
RaspundeAbraham T.,
It's a beautiful backpack.Sturdy, well made, high quality.I'm sure I will enjoy it for a long time.n5.11 products are my favorite because they truly are superior to other brands.A little pricey, but totally worth it.I recommend this backpack to all.
RaspundeGreg L.,
I received exactly what i expected. Good sound quality that will likely last for a long time!
RaspundeAlexander O.,
So far this is the best tactical backpack I had ever used, very strong and durable and of course very light. Next purchase is going to be the Rush 48
RaspundeAaron M.,
Great bag perfect for working in the bush, lots of compartments keeps you organized.
RaspundeLuther L.,
This was purchased for my son who delivers semi tractors all around the country. He is constantly either on the road or in an airplane. He uses this as a carry on bag. It holds all his needed gear as well as enough room for extra clothing in case of checked luggage not making the trip. An excellent choice, well constructed and organized.
RaspundePaula D.,
This pick is perfect! I took it on a two day work trip and it really did help with with ease and comfort for carrying on clothes. I highly recommend this bag!
RaspundeDavid G.,
I like everything about it. You get a lot for the money. Especially in terms of size.
RaspundeDavid R.,
Great backpack just what I needed with all the right compartments. Goog fast delivery as well.
RaspundeChris P.,
The Rush24 backpack is everything I expected and more. All the compartments are great for everything you need to carry.
RaspundeC B.,
So many people want the latest new fangled bag design. I am still old school and if it ain't broke don't fix it. This bag hits all the right notes for me, lots of capacity, good specialty storage layout and super durable. If I had to pick a downside, maybe some better water bottle storage on the sides, but I prefer the bladder.
RaspundeJackie W.,
Just received and used bag for just an overnighter. The bag worked well and was very versatile. I look forward to using it again on other types of outings.
RaspundeDavid F.,
Tough as nails, just enough organization with large primary storage compartments. Highly recommended.
RaspundeLiam H.,
Solid, very comfortable shoulder straps for hiking with some weight in the pack.
RaspundeZachary R.,
Sturdy and stylish material, tons of pockets and compartments, easy to upgrade and add on to for great versatility, and makes you feel like you can carry anything you could possibly need. I love this backpack.
RaspundeAntonio C.,
Awesome backpack, great for work and everyday needs
RaspundeCrystal W.,
Love the quality and efficiency of this pack. Rugged and the perfect size, it is user-friendly and roomy. Love this pack.
RaspundeAmy M.,
So far its been great, after more use will have a better idea whats I like and dislike.
RaspundeFaith A.,
Love this backpack! Sturdy and durable. My only gripe is that I wish it had more Velcro for patches. I love the amount of pockets. It's great for staying organized and great for hunting. If you like to go to the range, this is the backpack for you as well! It's also great for school with a built in laptop compartment. This is a fantastic multiple use backpack that is definitely worth the money.
RaspundeDavid W.,
Highly functional and well rationalized, which makes for intuitive ease of use!
RaspundeChristopher C.,
Always a fan of 5.11 especially their bags. Ive never been let down by the quality.
RaspundeCesar A.,
I have bought many back packs in the past and all have been so so packs , I m really enjoying my 511 rush24 2.0 back pack. The quality is great and not worried about zippers coming apart. Recommend it highly.
RaspundeJason A.,
I love this backpack, very comfortable and the perfect size! I tried this one and the 24L one. If you're on the fence about which size to get I would definitely pick this one unless of course you know you need something small.
RaspundeDave G.,
Beautiful pack. Exactly why my son keeps ordering from 5.11
RaspundeErick R.,
Muchas gracias, es parte de la coleccin que tengo. Ya tengo el Rush 72 y ahora el Rush24.nRequiero un accesorio para el Rush72.
RaspundeDavid V.,
What an amazing backpack! I have a Swiss-Army back-pack for my laptop for many years. I needed a change that had even more versatility, including pockets and mole attachments. I easily attached to mole bottle holders on each side and a flash-light pouch on front. All the stuff I had in my old bag was so easy to distribute in the inside pockets. I even have some empty pockets for random stuff I may need to carry. So sturdy! The strap helps distribute the weight, so my shoulders and back feel an even distribution. Thank you 5.11
RaspundeBarbara H.,
Very pleased and proud to give as Christmas gift.nTerrific look and quality.
RaspundeMatthew B.,
Such a great weekend bag, I even used it as a Christmas gift for my Girlfriend.
RaspundeTyler W.,
Awesome bug out bag with enough room for anything you need
RaspundeRichard H.,
Excellent pack ! Lots of room and attachment points. Especially like the hidden EDC compartment.
RaspundeRuss S.,
My first impression is based on my first use of this pack. I used it on a 5 mile hike at the Jones Gap State Park in SC. The pack was comfortable and had ample room for the items I carried. The build quality is excellent and the material is strong. The only 2 thinks that I would like to see on this pack are larger side pockets to accommodate larger Nalgene bottles when I don't want to carry a bladder and a removable hip belt. Neither of these items took away from the effectiveness of this pack on my hike.
RaspundeJoe G.,
Amazing fit and feel. Holds everything I need and more. Would absolutely recommend
RaspundeLisa B.,
We love this bag we now have 3 of them they are the best backpack we have ever bought they hold a lot and are great bags
RaspundeMario V.,
Excellent backpack. Im really enjoying it. I use it for everything from going to work, groceries when bike riding, and going to the gym.
RaspundeAnthony C.,
I have the Rush 12 for over a year now and love it. My new Rush 24 bag looks like the same quality build as my 12, I expect to get the same satisfaction with my new bag. :)
RaspundeJames C.,
Well made, a bit heavy, but I am enjoying it as an everyday carry bag for my computer and other stuff. Highly recommend it.
RaspundeCody V.,
This bag is built like a tank! Can't wait to write another review in 5 years after I put it through hell. Solid product, overall.
RaspundeSmokey R.,
A wonderful and versatile bag. I use it mainly for commuting and onsite visits. (I'm an IT tech) and it holds everything I need and more. My only issue is that the laptop compartment is very snug, and makes the top pocket near the handle almost inaccessible. Other than that, this has become my #1 bag.
RaspundeRichard M.,
The Rush24 is the perfect size for taking my laptop and peripherals home for telework. Very well made. So far I love it.
RaspundeRichard B.,
When it comes to backpacks I am a bit of a weirdo! Over the years Ive bought and tried countless models and brands in search of the perfect backpack for my needs. And I think my search is finally over. Ive only had this backpack for a couple of weeks but Im absolutely loving it! It has tons of pockets to organize you every need, has plenty of room, very comfortable and feels like its made to last a long time. I highly recommend this to anybody looking for a well made backpack with a tons of storage!
RaspundeGene H.,
I had one as a office bag for many years and turned that one into my gym bag, replaced it with the new 2.0 model and added a hook and loop holster in the CCW pouch... good to go!!!
RaspundeAndres R.,
I own 2 the original and the 2.0 and I use one for edc and one as a bug out bag!! Great gear to have!
RaspundeFelipe C.,
And I imagine they would be the same for whatever you do. nI'm now convinced that all backpacks should be covered in MOLLE. nI can't overstate, nor should you underappreciate, how great this backpack is.nJust buy it already.
RaspundeJacob W.,
Good backpack but over priced. Hard to see all of your pockets and zippers
RaspundeBeth P.,
This purchase was made as a Christmas gift for my son. He researched this before I made the purchase
RaspundeJim W.,
Great pack, well made and theres a pocket for everything. I especially like the concealed carry pocket.
RaspundeMatthew C.,
Lives up to my expectations to perform at a high level. I can stuff the kitchen sink in it if I wanted to. I have to travel with a large amount of stuff for work. Had my 15" laptop, a bunch of peripherals, hard hat, a couple of layers of jackets, just a good amount of stuff. A few flights were on the smaller planes & I was able to still fit it comfortably under the seat or in the overhead. Shoulder harness helps carry the weight & humping through the airport terminals is nothing. Haven't used it for cc yet. I've usually got smaller bags for day-to-day. The blue color is amazing.
RaspundeRobert K.,
It is good for all overnight and longer outdoor stuff a good pack to have..
RaspundeBenjamin W.,
Purchased this bag to use as my personal item to fly to Iceland :u1F1EE::u1F1F8: and it was phenomenal. Holds everything you need and has so many pockets and sorting options. It was able to hold everything I needed.
RaspundeChris D.,
This is one tough backpack! Its got many pockets for many things and the right materials and design to hold all those things for you while riding on your back.
RaspundeAdam K.,
Very happy with this purchase. Useful pockets, comfortable to wear. Hidden compartment is a nice touch as well.
RaspundeJoshua R.,
My Son loves his backpack, he just got out of Basic training, is a senior in high school & is doing the split ops training & this bag works for his army drills & a functional backpack for school. Thanks 5.11 for making great products! Joshua
RaspundeKeeley B.,
This is an amazing product!! Built with quality material and extremely spacious for a back pack. I can fit so much within my bag that I am able to put my work stuff in it and my extra curricular stuff after I get off work. Very functional and a lot of separate carrying compartments.
RaspundeMichael L.,
Ruggedly made and very useful. For me, the 37L is the perfect size.
RaspundeNancy P.,
I downsized from the Rush 72 and was worried everything wouldn't fit but it did and it is much easier to carry and travel with.
RaspundeJamison S.,
Im used to mountaineering equipment so this tac bag was a welcomed change. Very sturdy & well thought out design. Would recommend this bag for sure!
RaspundeDaniel R.,
I've used the rush series of packs for years. They are rugged and hold up under pressure.
RaspundeMarc J.,
Love the color, durability, value, and quality. Great improvement with laptop pocket. Slightly disappointed that the new design only came with one key keeper. Added this one to my collection of 5.11 bags.
RaspundeMartin H.,
Thought this bag might be to big but it is a perfect size to take to work! Holds my lunch and everything else I need for my day
RaspundeCarlos R.,
I recently purchased my third one! No not for me. Well the 1st was for me and I love it so much. Recently my brothers are on a path to finishing their schooling so I got each one this bag in different colors and they love it as well.
RaspundeJerry R.,
Perfect size and quality for my daily use as a "Get Home Bag". My job carries me 250-300 miles out everyday in different directions and I needed a bag tough enough to handle the wear and tear.nSo far, so good. You will not be disappointed!
RaspundeNate S.,
Got this for a go bag, amazing storage, very nice quality. Worth every penny
RaspundeAndre A.,
Ive purchased tactical bags before. They end up being flimsy, zipper pulls break, connection points snap. nnThis bag is extremely well made. The laptop compartment holds my 16inch Mac book pro well. The conceal pocket is great when traveling and emptying your pockets for TSA.
RaspundeBill R.,
Great unit..lots of storage pockets, well balanced...its our second pack like this
RaspundeThomas P.,
Love the space for firearm, extra magazines, medical, and iPad Pro
RaspundeVernon B.,
I wanted a laptop backpack for work and found 5.11 had several different styles. I am Ex-Air Force and wanted one in Ranger Green. The RUSH24 2.0 is the perfect size for my laptop and the other items I need to drag around. nnI am impressed with the quality and attention to detail! I especially like the CCW pocket that seals with velcro. There really isnt anything I would change! I thought the price was about right and after using it for a couple weeks I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.
RaspundeTheresa N.,
Absolutely love these packs. This was my first one and already bought a second one for my husband. I use it every single day with my job and in life. These are by far the best packs I have ever bought.
RaspundePaul C.,
Absolutely love this bag its user friendly and the concealed compartment feature is great
RaspundeJeremy M.,
Feels and looks durable. The pocket layout is well thougt out. Comfortable to wear even with weight. ( I have only worn it for short periods though no long term hikes.) I use it as a everyday carry pack for work. Local construction truck driver makes life easy jumping from vehicle to vehicle.
RaspundeRobert W.,
Great quality, zippers are excellent quality & durable. I don't leave the house without it, my go to edc pack!
RaspundeKelly J.,
I purchased this bag for my son to use at his military college. It fits everything perfectly and is within regulation.
RaspundeTimothy M.,
This bag has so many pockets and places to stuff things it is great for every day carry!
RaspundeAnand C.,
Great pack except its difficult to carry with only one strap.
RaspundeLance R.,
This is an excellent product. Well made. Just the right size. I'm mostly using it for work to haul my digital devices and accessories around, but I'm also looking forward to taking some trips with it and using it's full capacity. Not to mention the hidden compartments. Probably what I like the most is that it's different from all the other backpacks out there. You won't confuse mine with anyone else's.
RaspundeDaniel L.,
The bag is sturdy, well made, and has a ton of organization. It's a great bag. And has two side pockets that fit water bottles.
RaspundeJustin C.,
Excellent for nearly anything you could use it for
RaspundeDaniel T.,
This bag can serve in so many different roles. If you want to use it for school or work, its got you covered. Built in padded laptop sleeve. Plenty of pockets to organize your pens, calculator, notebooks, etc. If you want to use it as a camping/hiking bag, its got you covered for that too. Plenty of space in the main compartment for gear. Nice slim compartment for a hydration bladder. Mille system so you can add on extra storage or have frequent use items available ASAP. I love items like this that are over built. Great quality and I anticipate it lasting for years.
RaspundeScott P.,
Giving this a 5 because its functionality for what I need is perfect! Tons of room and lots of pockets. I have an initial concern about the Velcro Concealed Carry area that it might catch on something and open it by accident but so for so good.
RaspundeIvan T.,
Range bag/bug out and travel this backpack has done it all very satisfied with this product.
RaspundeAnel C.,
Best bag ever. Allows me room for two days worth of clothes. Perfect for everyday use or Go Bag
RaspundeJason M.,
This is my 5th bag from 5.11 and it has not disappointed. I love the new ccw pocket and the overall size. Perfect fit for my day to day travel.
RaspundeAbraham V.,
It's an amazing EDC backpack! You can fit all your essencial gear. Great material! And it's very comfortable to carry!
RaspundeHarold N.,
Very happy with the rush 24 backpack. All the pockets are easily accessible and the CCW works great. I would highly recommend this backpack
RaspundeJacob R.,
First one Ive owned is 8 years old - has some worn stitching in one strap and a broken chest buckle, but still going strong. The one I just purchased looks to be of the same quality construction, so Im pleased. Havent found a better pack at this price.
RaspundeRick P.,
Great backpack, I would recommend it very pleased with it
RaspundeCyrus H.,
Good quality, it meets my needs. I commute to work on a bicycle, it has lots of space and compartments to organize all my things, such as lunch, fresh clothes, and bike lights. it's comfortable.
RaspundeJohn P.,
Good pack, would buy again. I thought it was a little bigger. Thats on me for not understanding size. I will likely buy the 55 liter in the future if I can find a discount.nWould recommend
RaspundeMark S.,
love it, only wish they had more accessories to go with the molle hook system.
RaspundeNATHAN S.,
This backpack has everything I expected when I ordered it; excellent quality.
RaspundeRyan J.,
This is a solid bag. I have the original bag and love it. It's currently still being used daily and this one will get used as well. Love the new features. Fit and finish is great as well.
RaspundeSantino Y.,
If you're thinking about getting a new pack, this is the one. Awesome pack holds everything you need. I got mine in python color.
RaspundeAdalberto V.,
It is a very good backpack. However, it would benefit better with the addition of compression straps on the bottom as well. When the top straps get compressed, the load shifts to the bottom of the bag making it uneven on the back of the wearer. Compression straps like the ones on the Rush 72 would be a great addition. To solve this issue, I compensated by purchasing the Rush Tier System to compress the bottom of the backpack. That is why I did not give a 5 star rating to an otherwise great bag.
RaspundeMartin B.,
With one important exception, everything about this pack meets and exceeds my expectation. Affecting comfort and wearability is the clip on shoulder straps. Without this clip, the straps spread apart and allows the pack to fall off the shoulders. One lousy plastic clip that can easily fall off, which it has, twice, has a tremendous effect on the wearer's experience - especially while riding a motorcycle. You MUST provide a solution and give your customers the option to upgrade.
RaspundeJoao P.,
Please inform the dimensions of the Padded laptop sleeve in the RUSH24:tm: 2.0 BACKPACK.
RaspundeRafael G.,
Its a very good backpack. Used it for traveling and camping already. But what really impressed me was the customer service. Best one Ive found bar none. Had a little situation with the backpack and I called it in and everything was solved in a couple of minutes. Good quality product and better customer service. Hurraaa!
Raspundejohn a.,
Back-and-forth between the hotel room the truck and the office this thing keeps all my stuff organized and on my back or hanging neatly in my truck thank you
RaspundeDavid B.,
I have purchased 5.11 items in the past and have been impressed with the quality of workmanship. The Rush24 2.0 backpack is no exception. Quality materials coupled with excellent workmanship and impressive design equal an outstanding backpack. I highly recommend it.
RaspundeAshley S.,
I use this for work daily and it is fantastic. I had my doubts with the compartment configuration, but they are just right. Highly recommend this pack, no complaints.
RaspundeCharles D.,
Excellent product. Quality manufacturing. Plenty of organization, storage.
Raspundedan c.,
I bought this pack for rucking as a more durable pack than the one I was using. I have the straps as far as it will go, both the shoulder and chest straps do not hold the pack as snug as it should
RaspundeAlan D.,
Great edc/ day pack. Holds everything my family of 6 needs for day hikes and picnics. Zero complaints
RaspundeLatasha W.,
They removed the drain holes. No idea why they would do that. I carry this bag everyday and unfortunately I am having to now look at other options. Super disappointing. Otherwise it is of course a good quality bag if you do not need those!
RaspundeWei-Zhe W.,
2.0 Is good design, Python is cool color,nBut I want keep bottom hole.
RaspundeJoshua G.,
Love the Rush24 2.0 , great backpack from 5.11. Love the space on the 37L.
RaspundeEdward R.,
I have used the original Rush 24 pack for military operations, and the setup for the bag was well done. I have to say as a radio operator in the USMC, this bag was my go to bag of choice for missions. It had more than enough space for equipment, clothes, and food. It is made extremely durable, and held up deployment after deployment. The Rush 24 2.0 has improved modifications on it, I am pleased with the computer slot and the CCW compartment that is easily accessible. Even if you do not use the compartment for CCW you have more room to pack more things in it. The only thing I would love to request that you guys put back is the 2 Velcro openings by the handle. This was beneficial for my for the radio antennas and for the camel pack to go through the opposite end like you had it before so you could loop it through the hole and onto the preferred shoulder strap. That is the only recommendation I have. I have just bought another Rush 24 in a different color, and probably will end up buying all the color options, I am a backpack connoisseur, you can never have enough and these last a lifetime. Thank you for being consistent in this product, it helped me through some close calls! Semper Fidelis!
RaspundeJoshua H.,
I love the RUSH24! It is a perfect addition to the RUSH12 that I currently have. I love the additional space and compartments. This pack is SOLID! If youre in need of a pack for the field or the office, you cant go wrong with the RUSH!
RaspundeJake W.,
I love it. I use it for work and just picked up another for traveling. 5.11, if you want to sponsor me on this bag I would start back up my YouTube channel again.
RaspundeSYLVIA S.,
I am obsessed with this bag! A place for everything, and everything in it's PLACE!! The color, quality, and functionality are all on point. This is not my first 5.11, and it most certainly wont be my last. Thank you for consistently making products that are amazing!
RaspundeJoey S.,
Awesome product, will be buying the RUSH 12 for smaller carrying needs soon. Best backpack money can buy!
RaspundeHunter L.,
This backpack is great for my everyday essentials and also weekend trips. I can fit just about everything I need with all the compartments it offers.
RaspundeCarlos,
Construction and material are good, no discussion. But there are points to improve for a backpack with years of history. I find the pocket for glasses very fragile. The pocket can't be soft, it looks like you're putting your hand in your pants pocket to get your glasses. Sometimes you make the mistake and put your hand on the lens. If you overfill your backpack, depending on what you put on, it could break your glasses. I hope that version 2.0 fits the case of the glasses, at least. The compartment should be more rigid, to protect them. Another point, the straps on the side should be the same as the AMP backpack, smarter, in my opinion. To access the main compartment of the backpack, you need to release 2 straps! There's nothing tactical about it. Or you leave the straps open and they're dangling in front of the backpack. Even if they are open, if you lay down your backpack to open it, the straps are in the way of the zipper. Last point, "all the backpacks" should come with a built-in raincoat. Cordura does wet in the rain. Simple things, but that would make a lot of difference.
RaspundeKC,
TLDR: Got the Rush24 in Double Tap, sprayed scotch guard on it and couldn't be more happier, thank you.nnWalked in 20 minutes before closing, had an idea what I wanted (browsed the site many times, read/watched plenty of reviews 1, 3, 5 years later stuff.) Rush 12 or 24. Open the door, look around, no one else, I yell out to the employees kiddy-corner from me "hey I need a backpack." Was greated by a gentleman at the selection and I was like hey, I need a Rush 12 or 24 but I didn't realize how small they were. The website pictures made them seem bigger, to me at least. I throw my edc pack down and man it was the size of the 72. Been wanting to downsize too with my edc pack and I couldn't be more happier with the 24, that 1050D is solid, the YKK zips are amazing, it feels so great and I can see now why people have multiple of them, thank you so much.
RaspundeBrad,
I've been carving the 1.0 version (basically the same thing) for 5yrs all through college and the beginning of my military career and this bag is outstanding, totally surpassed all my expectations. I've taken it to class, camping, gun ranges, roadtrips, daytrips, flights... and I have been gentle. After 5yrs the stitching is finally giving out on some parts but it still is completely fine. I downsized to the Rush12 now (don't carry as much as I did) and it's the same amazing quality. If I ever need quality bags, I always recommend 5.11
RaspundeEddie r.,
I have used the Rush 24 bag for use while I was doing missions in the USMC. The bag held up amazing in the gear I had to pack, I was a radio operator, so a lot of heavy items i.e. radio, batteries, toughbook, pens, pencils, books etc... The bag held up on all missions, no tearing and holding up to the constant beating. The pouches were what I needed, to help organize my items. I am out of the military, and just bought the Rush 24 2.0, and I am highly impressed with the upgrades that it has with CCW, and the laptop pouch! Holds up just the same with the different gear that I use in my civilian life, and still just as great! I would highly recommend this bag as it is durable, reliable, and probably the only bag you would ever need but would love to keep buying more for multiple colors LOL.
RaspundeZachary W.,
This bag is my go to every day bag. Perfect for everything I need it to be.
RaspundeJames S.,
To better than I ever thought it would be,, And the last backpack I will ever buy.
RaspundeMarc A.,
So much is evolving, changing and disappearing in our lives these days. To meet these dynamic events head on and perceiver I needed a reliable pack for everyday carry and a few extras. This pack thus far has been reliable. Meets and also exceeds my needs. I would buy it again and I like the Python color.
RaspundeCLAYTON B.,
Using as a first aid, first responders bag
holds everything I need to feel ready to go !
Chris C.,
I really love this bag. I got the rush 24 for my get home bag an I also have a rush 72 for a vacation/ camping bag. 5.11 has great products an im very happy I went with 5.11 tactical over other companies.
RaspundeJASON B.,
Using this pack for a GHB makes for the ideal solution. It is spacious, but not too big, and very thoughtfully designed. Construction quality is great, as you would expect from 5.11, and the new Kangaroo color is pretty cool. All-in-all, I think it is the perfect pack for my purpose, and would recommend to anyone looking for a pack of this size and feature set.
RaspundeRafael M.,
Have been looking for the perfect gym backpack and found it! All gym necessities fit perfectly. Storage compartments for everything. Not too big or too small. Best backpack available! Must have.
RaspundeMark C.,
Ive had my black Rush24 pack for a few years now.nnMy favorite use is for a one to three night travel.nnI use travel-sized travel toiletries and owe the two zippered compartments at the top.nnMy clothing is tightly rolled and three days worth are easily accommodated by the main compartment. nnAdmin. Compartment easily handles a multitude of office gadgets including steno pads, travel docs etc. Clip your house keys on the feather inside.nnPack opens easily on TSA conveyer at the airport. Inspection is a breeze.nnThere are a variety of outside pouches available should you require more space. Pack EASILY fits in commercial aircraft overhead bins.nnGreat for every-day high school or college/university use.
RaspundeRobert,
I have been using the original 5.11 tactical backpack the same size as the new Rush 24 for over 10 years. I have thoroughly abused this bag. It has been my range bag, carrying all my sand bags, ammo, hearing protection and tools. It has traveled all over the country to competitions and been thrown about so much it should have been all to pieces by now. It has faded some from sitting on the firing line for hours on end. But it is still a great piece of gear. I just need a new day bag and carry-on size pack. There was no consideration but the new Rush 24. I expect it to be all the original still is. If it is not I will be back to amend this PREVIEW. Thanks for making the toughest packs out there. In a time when there is so much junk in the marketplace, it is nice to know there is still Quality kit available that will last.
RaspundeEric,
I just ordered my 2nd bag after having the orginal 24 for 6 years and just wanted a new one. With in those six years I have taken it on many hunting /camping trips as well as a daily carry bag. I would highly recommend this bag for any adventures that awaits you.
RaspundeC.Rudy,
I got this backpack a few years ago and it was one of the best purchases I've ever made for the money. I went through a handful of backpacks to try to find the right one that would organize my gear as needed and this one finally did that to perfection. Not only that, but this bag is incredibly durable. I have thrown it all around at the range, the desert and other places and the zippers have always been great and it keeps on going. The shoulder straps are surprisingly comfortable even when carrying really heavy loads. This backpack goes well beyond anything I've ever had before and I would recommend it to anyone that needs a quality, durable bag.
RaspundeAustin,
I have been looking for a field bag for a long time; something to take hiking, on river trips, and short camping excursions, as well as a handy range bag and potentially EDC. The Rush24 does all of those things and more. The the outside MOLLE lets me attach fishing poles, metal detectors, tents, knives, axes, mag pouches, compass, etc. The numerous internal pockets store everything else.In the next month or so I am going to buy another Rush24 for my wife (or a 72 for me, and give this one to my wife), and a Rush12 for my son.Note: I am a 6'4" 270 lbs. blacksmith, so, while the size is perfect and exactly as advertised, it does look a little like a lunch box on my back. BUT I was able to adjust all straps to make it exceptionally comfortable. In the end, I would highly recommend this bag (even to other Sasquatch like myself).
RaspundeBranden,
Bought this bag for airline extraditions and this bag is everything I could have asked for! Fits great under the seats in a plane, is durable, comfortable, and versatile. If you do extraditions this is the bag to get!!
RaspundeAllie,
This was my favorite bag. It was a Christmas gift and I used it for everything. College, gym bag, camping etc. Super comfortable, extremely roomy, tons of pockets for your wildest dreams. Molle system. Etc...Today was the day it finally needed washed.Came out of the dryer, zippers melted, and straps eviscerated.I've never had this issue with other packs.I'm really upset about it because it was such an expensive gift and now its ruined not even a year later.
RaspundeStephen,
Bought this bag in 2009. Bought it for college, was going through walmart back packs every month. Used it as a lunch box while I was on a custom harvesting crew in 2010, rode in the cab with me from texas to Montana. It is used 6-7 day a week for work ( county highway department), farming, motorcycle and hiking trips. Survived many thunder storms, ice and snow, co-worker dropped a tree.on it. After eleven years of always having my lunch bag, a dozen bottles of water, med kit, sunscreen, bug spray, vehicle inspection note pads, time book, and spare pairs of gloves and socks, the main compartment zipper has worn out, the sternum buckle ripped out the molle loop on one side, one shoulder strap is starting to tear away at the top seem, and the corners of the plastic support insert for the hydration pouch have rubbed through the bottom of the bag. I'm sure if I could get the zipper replaced it would last another decade. Will be ordering another one soon.
RaspundeJo,
Awesome bag!I use this for literally everything. I have used this for hiking and traveling.I used this to carry around my tools for truck repairsI am now currently using this for workouts.I have this bag filled with 45lbs of sand, I tapped the drain holes on the outside and inside using gorilla tape, no sand leaks.I slam this bag, throw it, you name it this bag has taken serious beatings over the last 3.5 years but hasnt torn or chipped any plastic. This thing is truly robust.I bought a Recycled Firefighter bag recently, but returned it because the price did not match the quality. I also returned a GoRuck bag because the price reallllly did not match the quality. I will only buy bags from 5.11 now. Nobody else has convinced me yet they can match the quality of these bags. This bag is a true multi purpose brute.
RaspundeJames,
This is the perfect size for me to carry everyday. My first day I loaded it up with Groceries. Was about 30 lbs. Was really easy to carry. With the straps spaced farther then others. It Distributes the weight evenly. Where are you don't even feel they having us of it.
RaspundeKelvin,
I love this bag. Its so easy to organize things and its clearly well made. Quality product from a quality company. Im 6'2" 250lbs and it fits well. The straps are nice and comfortable and the bag has definitely withstood the test of time.
RaspundeRooster,
I've had this pack for a little over a year now and figured I would write a small review. Wow. It is a fantastic backpack for day-hikes, travel, etc. I even use it as a carry on when I travel by plane. It's not only the amount of storage it can hold (which is quite a lot), it's pockets for organization are truly a time-saver. It also opens up fully, almost like a suitcase so that you can have access to the main bag compartment as well as the mesh pockets, etc. on the inside. I think one of the best parts about this pack though is that even when you don't have to carry much stuff, and want to use it, it never feels bulky or oversized, regardless of how much you store in it. It stays flexible so that it's not like wearing a bubble on your back when you only have to store a few things. Also, It has these vertical pockets that fit a 32 oz Yeti very well and snug.Lots of pockets and organization in the admin part of the pack. Honestly, I really can't sing this packs praises enough- you will be very satisfied with it.
RaspundeRalph,
Received my Rush24 within 5 days of ordering. Love the free cooler bag! Outstanding product after an hour of loading and unloading various items. The pack is a lot more roomier than I thought with hiding spots all over the place. This pack will serve as an everyday pack and also be used at the range. I was able to get everything where I needed it to be for quick access. The sternum strap was a little annoying at first but after some small adjustments it worked. I don't really need the sternum strap so it tucks away neatly with no problems. The molly system is to die for! this alone makes this pack so much more than just a pack. Can't wait to start ordering more attachments. Keep delivering quality products 5.11!
RaspundeKimberley,
I've had this pack for 10 years. It is still going strong after a deployment and 7 years of heavy travel in the military. It is just as strong as the day I purchased the pack. Would highly recommend.
RaspundeCheryl,
I bought this for my son to use for school. He is very rough on backpacks; I usually purchase two er year. So far this one has held up marvelously. He likes that he can stick patches to it and he can change things a bit. Weve had it for a while now and it still looks new. I believe we are finished with purchasing other brands.
RaspundeBrendan,
I use this bag primary for short weekend trips and has served me very well. Plenty of pockets for wire/charger management and the main compartment has plenty of space for cloths and a large water bottle.
RaspundeInfidel,
I hands down love this bag. I used it for work for a bit and then transitioned it over to my Range Bag. I carry a full Ammo can and another of first aid equipment as well as multiple tools and gun cleaning gear, two sets of electronic ear muffs, and some other equipment essential to being a RSO and trainer. I would recommend this bad to anyone.
RaspundeJulio,
I have had this backpack for five years and it is still intact. I have used it in the countryside, the city, the mountains, the beach and it adapts and serves everything. Sanity is the best, waterproof, allows the loading of a significant amount of things. Extremely comfortable to wear on the back, the fastening straps are really padded and fit perfectly. The seams and closures are of the highest quality. It has several compartments for a good distribution of cargo and we must not forget the MOLLE system that allows carrying several packages. I have recommended them to all my friends. It is the ideal backpack. It works for everything.
RaspundeRocky,
Really great pack if you like me like to be super organized in your backpack. It has a fantastic amount of ways to get perfectly organized. The only thing missing is a hip belt for when you load it up
RaspundeAnthony,
I have had my Rush24 for almost 10 years now. I used it as my assault pack in the Marine Corps for 6 years during field ops and deployments. I also use it for camping and as my get home bag. This by far is the best pack i have ever used. Nearly 10 years of rough use and only one zipper pull has come off, chest strap broke and part of the clip to the side compression strap broke, everything else still functional. A great addition would be the ability to strap gear like a sleeping system or sleeping pad to the bottom of the pack.

RaspundeAndrew,
Used this pack for several years for active duty service, and personal hiking trips in the US and abroad. Only complaint is that the fabric gets soaked pretty easily from overnight dew and rainy days. That aside, this is still my go to pack due to the numerous compartments to separate gear easily
RaspundeKeon,
I have been using the bag for six years and hopefully a bit longer. I got the bag Freshman Year of high school I am now a sophomore in college and the only problem I have had is one of the zippers is starting to break but the bag is 6 years old and used almost every day for those 6 years.
RaspundeCt,
I researched this pack a long time to see if it fit my PC and my daily kit. I travel all over the SF bay area and coastal areas. Now its been almost 2 years. I love it. My extra large PC with built in 10 key fits great with a ton of extra room. My cord, cables and periferal devices are all organized and kept neat. I even have place for my mini emergency kit. Everything has a place. The shoulder straps are extremely comfortable for long days on foot through out SF city or just from parking garages to the jobsite. My longest ruck with this pack was 10 miles with it loaded down to 30 lbs going up and down SF hills. My 72 hour kit in my truck is in molle pouches. They strap right on and the pack stays balanced and I can still get to everything. Highly recommend this pack. Accept no substitutes.
RaspundeRichard,
Ive had this bag for 5+ years and it has served me well. Ive mainly used it for ambulance duty. I packed all I needed for a 10 day trip to China. It is the only bag I will fly with for trips less than 10 days as it fits easily into the overhead compartment. Recently Ive been using it on my 30 mile round trip bike commute to work and its super comfortable. Recently biked 10mi in the pouring rain with it and my items in the main compartment were almost completely dry.
RaspundeArt,
had mine for a few years now and it's used 365 days a year, I take it camping and on hikes. I take it to work everyday and there are no signs if wear and tear.
RaspundeMarvin,
I bought my Rush 24 sandstone April 2014 and i'am still using it till now its 4 yrs old and not even one damage made due to wear of everyday use.zippers and stitchings are still intact and all.It packs everything i need, heavy or medium loads. It catches good compliments too from people, how tactical and rugged it looks. If ill buy another everyday use bag surely it will be 5.11.
RaspundeRan,
I bought it for edc to work. It seems to big for that. So i convert it to get home bag inside my car. It is very well backpack. I could put inside all the things for 24 hours out. Like:Fire, water, food, clothes, lights, communication, cutting tool, first aid, shoes and pepper spray.
RaspundeRocko,
Very large backpack, but it needs more pockets. There is pretty much a pocket for everything you need, except a drink bottle, a laptop, and small denomination coins. There is what looks like a Camelpak Bladder compartment, but there is no hole for the tube.
RaspundeJohn,
This is by far the best backpack to use for a day of hiking. You can fit a lot f supplies in the main compartment, and the hydration sleeve on the back is amazing. It can fit a 3L hydration pack with ease, and still have enough room in the main compartment for your supplies. Highly recommended
RaspundeLaserguy007,
Bag is amazing love the size the material and the size is perfect. Only complaint I have is their ability to ship. I ordered this bag on a Thursday before 9am/est and didnt receive my product till after 7 business days(understand that it was UPSs fault I should have received my package with in 3-5 business days. Ok so I ordered another product on a Wednesday and still receiving the following Friday. Like not sure if they hold all orders to be shipped till Friday. But I ordered another product from another company and received that product with in 3 business days come if from the same state. If you plan to order make sure your aware of there shipping methods. Thats why this product received a 4/5 star.
RaspundeBrian,
This is hands-down the best backpack that I've ever owned!!!! It is extremely rugged, extremely comfortable, and extremely spacious. I don't see myself ever needing to purchase another backpack.
RaspundeWayne,
This is my second 5.11 backpack. Both are outstanding. I purchased the Rush 24 for international air travel. Lots of room for a second set of clothing, light jacket, extra pair of shoes, plus all the other travel junk. I've been a long time customer of 5.11 and never disappointed. A company chooses it's place in the market. 5.11 has put it's self at the top. Reasonable prices with top quality and excellent quality control. I defy you to find a loose thread on anything from 5.11.
RaspundeJay,
This bag is made from extremely durable fabric and it can take on a lot of abuse. You can carry lots of weight on it, and it will feel well balanced. The straps are very comfortable. 100% recommended for everyday use. And it makes a great school/gym bag. Amazing job
RaspundeJames,
This is everything you could ask for in a backpack. This backpack has the capability to be used successfully in any way you could need. It has all the storage and sub compartments you could need for just about any use. I have not had it very long but it seem to a high quality backpack that will last for a long time.
RaspundeBrandon,
Everything about it is good, however, the rubber pads at the back where the straps are wear off after hard use
RaspundeAnthony,
I own a training company where I travel a lot. I purchased my Rush 24 Backpack as my Swiss Gear backpack failed me. I was surprised to see how much equipment I can pack in this bag without compromising comfort. My laptop is protected and this keeps everything I need to travel handy. I recommend this backpack to anyone who wants a rugged and versatile backpack.
RaspundeJoao,
I'm from Brazil and I have three 5.11 RUSH24. This backpack is super tough, beautiful, has several compartments, you can organize everything in it. The colors are very beautiful. I really love this backpack.
RaspundeShane,
I got the black one for my 18th bday. It works well and I think it looks great. I expect I'll be using it for years to come in daily life and if I ever go to the grand canyon.
RaspundeNicholas,
I am a fan of the Rush Series and I have the Rush 12 for an EDC. The Rush 24 suited as a carry on for my 3-5 days trips. The straps are extremely comfortable even with a loaded pack.
RaspundeScott,
the strap that crosses your chest is connected with PLASTIC. this broke after my first time of cinching this strap. for the price, metal would be much better
RaspundeJager,
Did a lot of review watching on types of bags that would work as both a hiking pack and a get home bag. I found everything I wanted in the 5.11 Rush 24. Its just the perfect size where all my essentials fit in the smaller compartments and the large compartment has room should i need to grab things and go. I got the sandstone one to try and keep away from the "tacticool" look. After I set my bag up I showed my friend who went a bought a black one the next day. It's only been a few months but the bag is still going strong and is very comfortable to wear on long hikes.
RaspundeNob,
I love RUSH24 . Using very very longtime. But Please making 500D nylon Light weight Material model.Long TripTravelmore enjoy time, more and more time. Please lightweight model making soon!!
RaspundeC,
I've really enjoyed this bag. One of the most comfortable and practical backpacks/bags I've ever owned. The pockets are very handy, and there isn't really anything I haven't been able to store inside. Lots of room for attaching things on the outside, and cool features like space for a hydration bladder and a pocket for your shades. The fixtures (zippers, stitching) are all very sturdy and the water-repellent feature is also very handy. The weight always feels good no matter what you put in it, and it doesn't feel weighted down even under a heavy load. I was conflicted between this pack and the 72hr, but the 24hr was plenty roomy for my needs. The strap that cinches the shoulder straps together is also handy, and the small piece that holds the remaining strap length is a nice addition and a testament to the small details 5.11 adds to their gear to make it comfortable and practical. Well worth the price, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a substantial pack.
RaspundeLarry,
Bought RUSH24 backpacks for me and some for my sons several years ago. RUSH24 pack is outstanding. It has "option" for a waist-belt if you can find a belt that you like that fits it. If you want a built-in waist belt system however, then be advised that the RUSH24 does not have a built-in waist-belt-system. 511 does however make other similar packs that have great built-in waist-belt systems. I wish I had bought one with a built in waist-belt.
RaspundeJustin,
Love the bag. its great knowing i can load it with what ever i need and will be able to neatly organize everything and that the bag will hold and last no mater the environment
RaspundeHenry,
Everything about this backpack is exceptional. Great quality and array or storage options and modifications. The only negative aspect is that I assumed it had a waist strap, which was my mistake for not looking into. I tried to find one on the website but couldn't, so I called, and the sales person on the phone told me that they do not sell them. If you need a waist strap, consider the Rush72. I'm going to have to find a 3rd party option for the waist strap.
RaspundeNam T.,
I asked my friend to order Rush 24 Sandstone in Germany. I am in Viet Nam and I did not think these products are manufactured in my country. When I received the bag just 1 week ago, I was surprised by the label "Made in Vietnam" inside the bag. I am wondering if there is any official store selling Rush series in Vietnam. Any way, I am happy with it because I often travel for 3 to 4 days in remote areas and it can store most of my stuffs.I am thinking of having another Rush 12 TAC OD
RaspundeLebin,
Good pack with lots of little pocket options. I am disappointed that it did not come with a waist belt.
RaspundeAndy,
I've had my Rush 24 for a little over 2 years. I use it daily for work, and it's my go-to travel bag. It has been on multiple plane trips, including 2 to Hong Kong. The bag has held up extremely well. Recently, the zipper straps have started to frey from the abuse I put my bag through. I e-mailed 5.11 and explained the situation, they sent me replacements for them, no questions asked and at no charge to me.

everything is just as god as advertised and i was very happy. however theres one thing which isnt specified which i thought it included but in reaality it doesnt, and thats the waist strap. it only come with the rush 72
RaspundeAsh,
I use backpacks for everything - work, hiking, biking, traveling, etc. I need a lot of room and organization but without the bulkiness of most bags. After a ton of research and trying out so many other, cheaper options, I finally invested in the Rush 24 in Dark Earth (looks good on my multicam uniform and with multicam patches/name tape). Not only does it look sharp for work, but I can store so much in it. I carry a full load of basic CLS gear in just one pocket, extra clothes, outdoor survival gear, and I also have a Camelbak reservoir in it. The way it's designed takes all the weight off of my lower back and I can hike all day with a full load of gear without feeling any unnecessary stress. It's how a backpack SHOULD feel. I don't leave my house without it. It's my EDC go-to now.

RaspundeKeaton,
I cannot say enough good things about this bag. The quality in terms of stitching and overall durability of the bag itself is exceptional.I have not had mine very long but it gets used everyday for school, work, the gym or any combination thereof. It is pricey but well worth it.Also, a police officer friend has had his for 10 years and the only thing he has done has been washed it because it was black and dirt shows up very clearly.DEFINITELY worth the money. * If I could give more than 5 stars I would
RaspundeSteve,
Just received my Rush 24 backpack last week. Got the dark earth color. Very sharp. The nylon and stitching used on the pack is exceptional in terms of durability and appearance. I did a lot of research before buying. Got 20% off for the Fathers Day sale. Great value. Exceptional product. Only constructive criticism I would offer is that the Sunglass pocket on top is very small and tight. They should address that if they ever do another update to the pack design.
RaspundeChase,
I called to check on my order and why it is still in "processing" two days after placing the order. So I called and asked if it was on backorder. The explanation I got was, "because you chose ground, it takes two or three days for us to ship it." So basically, they have it, but because I didn't pay for expedited shipping, they sit on it for a couple days or so. That's the California tax for you.I gave it a 3 as I expect the product to be great, but it's just their service (shipping) that is sub-par.
RaspundeBenjamin,
Bought one of these when they first came out. At first I thought it was a little expensive but I was wrong. The quality and usefulness of the bag makes the price point perfect. I use this bag for my daily gear bag and every thing has a spot. Recently this bag was stolen from me with most of my gear and so I have purchased another to replace it. I may buy another bag in the future for other uses.I am very happy with and greatly appreciate the design and quality of the build.
RaspundeKat,
I use this bag every day and I can't say enough good things about it. I use it for work, for school, and for travel. I've had it for about 3 years. It has been tossed in the back of my SUV, squashed in the bed of a truck, strapped on the back of my motorcycle, and it is still holding up with no issues. I can carry everything I need in this awesome bag. The only thing I wish it had was a concealed carry compartment...but aside from that, no complaints. The molle system is great, enabling me to add or remove pouches to customize the bag for what I need. I've got a black one and am about to order an OD green one for drill and deployments.
RaspundeMad M.,
Rugged construction is unmatched, so it is pretty heavy. The shoulder pads are well designed and it feels so much lighter being carried on shoulder. The waterproof feature is so great except for the molle straps. However the waterproofing fabric used on the back panel is quite a letdown. When being carried around on hot days, the back panel repels sweat, which always leads to a very wet and uncomfortable back. The airflow panels are not thick enough to provide good ventilation. If the back panel is replaced with moisture wicking fabric and the airflow panels are replaced with the ones like the TacTec Plate Carrier, that would be flawless.
RaspundePierce,
great back has lots of ways to organize and store. It is also a great looking bad if you add the right kind of patches
RaspundeVin,
I just spent three weeks hiking throughout Israel and needed a backpack system that enabled me to carry enough clothes and equipment for three-day intervals, but was compact and permitted full range of movement. The Rush 24 exceeded my expectations. The layout of pockets, expandability and ruggedness took all that I threw at it and more - rough handling at airports, checkpoints, and not so hospitable terrain and weather. Access to most used items (side zipper pockets and admin pouch) was great. The back zippered pocket for a tablet and the top felt-lined zippered pocket for sunglasses are brilliant. This replaced an older daypack that I was never able to pack more than 24 hours worth of equipment, but was just about the same size and had horrible access compared to the Rush 24. The capability to handle heavy loads is outstanding for a pack of this size - I had about 25-30 pounds regularly in it on my trip. The only thing on the wish list is an included waist strap for a little additional stability especially when making quick lateral movements.
RaspundeThe T.,
As an outdoors man, I use this backpack frequently and have never had any problems with it. It works every time and has never failed me. I very much recommend this pack, even if you arent a great fan of the outdoors. It fits every situation.
RaspundePickup,
I use this bag as my everyday carry. Fits all the things I need for the day at work as well as my bug out items in case of an emergency. This bag is well made and very comfortable to wear. Excellent job 511!!
RaspundeIlm T.,
This was hands down the best backpack that I have ever owned. I used it in the Mine everyday use. I still own 3 years later. It is still my everyday carry bag. You will not be disappointed. I have also bought one for my father in-law who also loves his.
RaspundeGrt,
I replaced an existing pack with the Rush24 for a GoRuck Challenge. I also purchased the 72, but found it was going to be just too big. The 24 was a comparable size to the pack that I used for my previous Challenge, but ended up being MUCH more comfortable. The built in drainage holes came in handy when we did our beach excercises. The neck yolk was good when we were in a down position (bear crawls, pushups, etc) and kept the pack from coming up over my shoulder or into my head.I packed a yoga block, 6 bricks, a windbreaker, 2 shirts in a dry bag, pellican case, 3L bladder, cushioning, and still had some room in the main compartment.I was able to get my 1.75" belt from my previous pack to work on this one. That is my BIG complaint - the pack should come with a belt.
RaspundeJake,
i have had this bag for about 4 months and i have used it for school and hunting. It works great for both. I would consider this bag a 48 hr instead of a 24 but that is just my opinion. No damage whatsoever yet. I give it an 11/10.
RaspundeRich D.,
Great carryon airline bag! Don't over stuff, pack wise and u can fit a few days of clothes in here.also fits a 15.5'' laptop in the hydration pouch. Double tap is a great looking everyday bag and carry on, weekend bag, travel light and don't check bags! Its fun. Only not sure about drain holes collecting dirt.
RaspundeJay,
Bought this pack to replace my lost one. main use is hiking and camping. Great costruction; heavy-duty zippers, heavyweight material, comfortable straps. Overall i am very pleased with this pack.although this pack has integrated rings to make a hip strap a pack of this level should have it built in.
RaspundeWitchdoc,
I have used this bag going on four years(?) I believe I bought it in 2011. At first I was put off by the price but I decided to go ahead and get it anyway. I am a former ForceRecon Marine and currently a Sheriff's deputy as well as a National Guardsman. I use this bag everyday. I own three in a multitude of colors( black/multicam/flat dark earth) Now I use each one for different things. One for duty in my squad car, one for weekend drill, and one for EDC when I'm off duty. I love the multitude of pockets and applications of said pockets. I have found them to be the best bugout bags. I have carried my black bag on duty now since 2011 and it has yet to fail me . I have loaded that beast down with everything from ammo and spare clips for both my duty sidearm and my M-4 to first aid and extra cuffs. I have always been on the look out for a quality bag to get my stuff where it's needed and folks this bag is the one. The modular capabilities alone are excellent. I love the built in hydration pocket to the soft lined pocket on top for shades and or a phone. When I'm in my unit it sits on the from seat and I know my stuff is secure and within easy reach. If you are looking for an awesome bag that can handle any mission then this is the bag for you.Plus my multicam and flat dark earth bags are the upgraded versions and they have tweaked them to perfection in my opinion. I carried my multicam in Afghanistan last year and beside a little wear and tear and a bullet hole it's still doing its job. Well done sirs on this product. I raved about this bag so much most of my guard unit carries them and all of my squad does.
RaspundeSayeret,
It's been through many operations of diverse nature. From urban areas, wooded areas, mountains to deserts. Suitable for military or civilian life. If it can survive the tests of a rough region of the world, it definitely can handle whatever else you come across.
RaspundeHondo583,
I have owned and field tested many packs, in many different scenarios. This is an overall good pack. I use it every day. I love the organization and durability. I have carried this pack for about 9 months. In general, I love it. It is a good pack, but falls short of being a great pack. When I carry a pack all day I like to have a waist belt to help stabilize the pack and take some of the load off of my shoulders. This pack has a place to add a waist belt, but it only fits up to a 1.5" belt. I added a Brokos belt for comfort, but the 1.5" attatch points limit how I can attatch it to the pack since most good tactical belts are 1.75". I wanted to use a 1.75" belt with a quick release. When I'm hiking and I cross streams, if I fall in I need a quick release. I have yet to find a quick release belt in 1.5", but in 1.75" they are easy to find. I also would find two additional compression straps useful. The two on the top are nice, two on the bottom as well would be much better. This would help keep the load as close to my body as possible, and makes navigating in the woods easier. Overall I would recommend, and have recommended this pack to my friends. With a few minor adjustments, this could easily be the best pack on the market.
RaspundeLt,
I use this pack for day hikes, over night hikes, traveling. It's my go to bag, because this pack is so versatile. It's easy to keep clean. I just wish 5.11 made a pack like this, but in a 65 to 70 liter bag. I will provide my own hip belt. It's the pockets and organization that sold me on this pack. No need for pouches, just find a pocket and you are set. Wallets are hidden, valuables can also be hidden. Please do not add heavy pouches on the outside, it will throw your balance. I have had 40 plus pounds in it and it held up like a champ. 5.11 makes and designs the best packs out there. You will not find a better pack. I am thinking about giving this one to my brother and buying the Grey one. I have the sand stone version btw. Good looking bag. A few things I wish 5.11 would up grade is a flap for the sun glasses zipper pocket. The front Administration area needs to extend out another 2 inches from the bottom. Increase the width of the yoke by a inch or so. I love that I can add my own hip belt. The best backpack I have ever own.
RaspundeMarie T.,
It's a well constructed pack with a good size and layout but the lack of a waist belt makes it unstable and uncomfortable on longer walks. There are buckles for attachment of a waist belt but 5.11 tactical doesn't include one or sell one as an accessory. Would also like to see better ventilated (and lightweight) padding on the shoulder straps and back of the pack. Would've been a perfect rating if not for those 2 things. Hope to see improvements in the next versions of this pack.
RaspundeSteven,
I use this bag as an EDC bag. Also, I could attach this to my Rush 72 or MOAB 10.
RaspundeFakirone,
Okay, so I have spent a RIDICULOUS amount of time looking for the right EDC backpack for me. Requirements are, lots of PALS webbing, needs to fit a 15" Macbook Pro reasonably well (not just floating around in the main compartment), have enough interior pouches to organize the several hard drives, optical drives, external batteries, etc, etc ,etc that I carry, have a decent to good admin area for all of my pens, docs, ID's, knife etc. that I carry, have two straps because I ride a motorcycle and sling bags suck, not be a cheap piece of *. Oh, and the main reason for the PALS straps is that I have a MOLLE DSLR camera bag that I want to be able to comfortably attach to the bag while traveling, riding etc.It is not an exaggeration that I have spent at least 30 hours in the past week online searching for the bag to suit my needs. I have bought 3 different bags, only to return each one after I got home and tried to load it. Maxpedition Falcon II, too small to fit laptop properly, the only bag they had that would work was the Kodiak, but it is a single strap bag and would be a nightmare when riding. I bought a Camelbak Motherlode which was huge and fit the laptop with it's sleeve in the hydration pocket nicely, but once again, despite it's size (37 liters) it's lack of organizing pockets left me with a big ole lump of junk at the bottom of my bag making it hard to carry and even harder to find what I needed. On top of that, when I attached my DSLR back to the Pals the whole thing sagged terribly and made it even worse to carry. Returned. Found a distributor for the Condor bags, picked up a Venture. This pack was pretty good functionally, but was just not built up to the specs that I wanted. I want a pack that will last, that is solid and that I can trust. The Condor wasn't that. Returned. Drago Gear Tracker, almost, but too small and kinda cheap (though not as bad as the Condor). Returned. 6 more hours on the internet searching everywhere from Cheaper than Dirt to Kifaru, from the Kifaru X-ray at almost $400 and a waiting list, to almost giving up to... 5.11.OMG as my daughter would say. A finally a company that get's it. The Rush series backpacks come in different sizes, small, medium and large, they have great reviews on this site, they sound like they have great construction, look to have lots of versatility and organization and I see quality sensible webbing. Did I finally find a pack that would work? It sounded too good to be true, but finally around 2 am last night I found a retailer near me from this site, saved the info then went to sleep.First thing I did today was head on over to look at these bags. Within a few seconds of having this bag in my hand I felt that I had a winner, a few minutes latter I had not only a Rush 24, but the Rush Moab 6 at the checkout counter. Both bags cost me less than most of the other bags I had looked at so I feel like I got the Moab for free. The Rush 24 is everything I had hoped for in a EDC backpack. Well, besides two things, I wish it had a few PALS straps inside the small pocket to add a pouch I want to carry in there and I wish that my computer would fit in the hydration pocket instead of having to go into sleeve in the main compartment, if the opening to the hydration pocket was literally an inch wider at the top the laptop would fit in there and be super accessible as well as very protected. You hear me 5.11? All in all I am HAPPY with this pack. Super sturdy construction, lots of organization available without interfering with the ability to carry large loads if needed. The DSLR case attaches pretty well and since the back has a small back board there is no sagging at all. All I did was stick my MSM water bottle corset on the side and load the thing up. I am ready to go!Love this bag. Very happy. I have no doubts that it will hold up to use as well.
RaspundeJp,
This pack was a Christmas present from my wife. It's an awesome pack with tons of pockets. My biggest problem was trying to remember which pocket I stored things in. It's a great pack, looks sharp and none of my fellow officers has one so it's easy to locate. I love this pack...
RaspundeMjj,
I travel a lot. And these days, I want to carry only the gear I need in one bag - preferably a backpack. That's why I have two Rush 72's. The older one was the first 5.11 bag I bought. Since then, I've bought other, smaller 5.11 bags that I could carry inside my 72's. But I also wanted a smaller...er..."larger" bag that I could carry onto a plane, train and/or bus that didn't take up as much space as my 72's.Enter the Rush 24.I've taken it on a few of my trips during the past year, when it worked best for those particular trips, and have never been disappointed. In fact, I have it with me right now on my week-long trip. In my Rush 12 review I talk about how it is secretly a TARDIS - small on the outside, humongous on the inside. It's the same with the 24. I packed precisely what I needed, plus a tiny bit more - and I still have space. So I packed a small go bag inside the 24 that carries my laptop, tablet, and a few other essentials that I need for the day.Now I'm contemplating using the 24 for most of my trips that last 7 - 10 days, and use my 72 for longer trips. I'm also contemplating packing my 12 for my next trip instead of my go bag. The 12 fits, perfectly with my other gear inside my 24, so I know it won't be a problem. The Rush 24 is a rugged, durable, deceptively large bag that works well for me as a travel bag. It's a winner in my book. Hmm. I may even buy a second one in the future.
RaspundeMindphaser,
If you are looking for a multi-purpose, comfortable Backpack: this is your choice!Easy to load, comfortable on the back even when fully loaded and good for hiking or weekend trips. Really nice as Carry-on baggage.Used it for weekend trips in Europe or as carry-on luggage for travel to Florida with my two kids.Add a H20 Carrier for your Nalgene Bottle or an Admin Pouch for easy access to documents or EDC tools and you have a really nice solution from EDC carry to business or leisure trips.
RaspundeJoe,
Great pack with lots of room. Sits well and distributes weight properly. Built tough."Pen slots" should be a little deeper to accommodate a pen or pencil more securely . Other than that small imperfection, its a great pack
RaspundeCary,
I work fire/rescue and the bag works well for the things that I have to carry to work for a 24 hour shift. I don't have to carry several bags to work now. I wish the bag had a water bottle holder and some kind of cushion at the bottom of the main compartment-this way when I'm carrying my laptop/tablet and I go to sit the bag down I don't have to worry about banging my devices up on a hard surface. Also, I wished the backpack came with a waist strap and not just the waist buckles. This backpack is put together well and it should last several years. Thanks 5.11!
RaspundeAvaldamon,
A little bit expensive but well worth the price for it. High quality and very durable for the small amount of time I've used it. The zippers don't move as easily as I'd like them to but that might just be the newness or the higher quality zippers used in this pack's construction. I use it for my range bag, so I have 3 pistols, 4 mags per gun, ammo for all 3 guns (.40, .45 & .22), targets, stapler, cleaning supplies, eye and ear protection and a dozen other things I can't think of in there. It's fairly heavy now but has a ton of room for bulky things still. Showed it to a friend and he instantly had to have one for himself. I'm a big guy too; most of my bulk is above the waist line and this pack fits me very nicely. The laptop bag I carry day to day, I can't get both shoulder straps on at once without a little wiggling. With this pack I have no issues, so works well for those with broad shoulders/backs.
RaspundeHudson H.,
I work in agriculture an avid hiker and outdoorsman. I keep everything in this bag and carry it in my car. There are so many pockets and places to store things it is perfect for my needs. When you are doing what I do for a living you need to have your gear on hand. Great value, Great Buy!Bottom Line- Buy this Bag.
RaspundeTacticool S.,
I was a little hesitant about purchasing a military-grade backpack for university/travelling/emergencies, however I have no regrets. I bought the Rush 24 in black and it looks awesome, is more than capable of fitting everything I need (easily fits 3-4 textbooks and a 2" binder into main compartment). The back plate offers a lot more comfort and I love the organization pockets.
RaspundeIan,
Great bag. I was a bit concerned about the size; that is, to go with the 24 or 72. For a 3 Day Bug Out Bag, this 24 size will work just fine. Minimalist gear, 3 days food supply and ammo - holds it all. Tons of pockets. I always complain about wanted another two or three - this unit has plenty.
RaspundeJason,
I mainly carry mine for personal use as well as EMS work and its definitely fit for both tasks. I have all the room I need to fit nearly anything thing I want. What I like the most about it is the fact its extremely rugged. I've had mine for almost 5 years and nothing on it has caused me any issues. But the compressions straps on the sides as well is the chest strap should be re-thought. The compression straps are too high and too much of an angle to really do any good. The chest strap just gets in the way. It either needs to be across the waist or not at all. Besides those two things which arent deal breakers, it is certainly worth the money.
RaspundeHyper F.,
I use my Rush 24 pack for work as well as my every day items. I think the size and design are perfect for my use. I've noticed the top pouch for sunglasses gets compromised when you add a water bladder and hose. The hose runs through the main compartment and interferes with the glasses pouch making it hard to put glasses in it. Other than that....I'm happy.
RaspundeF C.,
I use this bag to haul around head sets, comm cords, and misc small aircraft parts. I have plenty of room to spare and am looking forward to putting it through it's paces on an upcoming trip down range.
RaspundeThat G.,
I was deployed to Afghanistan some time ago, and purchased this bag a week prior to my trip. All I had at the time was a backpack leftover from years in college, stretched beyond all measure and reason. I realized my old bag would not stand the devastation of the "windy season" in Afghanistan, so I ordered the 5.11 Rush 24 (Black). This bag was my personal assistant, rucksack, and briefcase for over 6 months of desert winds, rain, mud, and abuse that only three Middle East nations, the TSA, and baggage handlers in U.A.E. could deal. It's incredibly well-made, borderline indestructible, and possibly self-aware. Needless to say, it was an invaluable piece of gear.So thank you, 5.11. Stay awesome.
RaspundeShaggy S.,
I use this backpack to transport my K-9 equipment and the K-9 paperwork around the globe. There is more then enough room for all the equipment including, but not limited to: Leashes, Collars, First Aid kit, Reward toys, Training equipment. In the small space upfront I have enough space for my gloves, flashlight, laserpointer, digital camera, paperwork of the dog and way more. The backpack is made to last and after multiple depoloyments it still looks brand new
RaspundePlacid L.,
I use this product just about every day to carry my gear to and from work. It has tons of places to organize and keep everything safe. When I need some specialized place, I utilize the Molle webbing to add the appropriate pouch. It has been in use for over a year and shows no signs of wearing out. The front admin area has a pocket that easily holds my tablet. My only reservation is the rear hydration pocket also gets used often for carrying my laptop. Having it there means its under pressure from the weight of all the other items in the pack. If your going to carry heavy loads I might suggest keeping an eye on how it affects your laptop. May have to move it to another spot in the bag to keep it from having any crush damage. But other than that it is one of the best back packs I've ever owned.
RaspundeSailshark,
I was expecting a well built back pack and one that is comfortable when it is full of stuff. As of today I am very impressed.
RaspundeDodger,
This is the second 5-11 day sack that has come apart at the shoulder. The day sack is actually an excellent design and I have used it for a year as a carry on and when I get to my place of work. I am a civilian security consultant in hostile environments and a military trainer, I was an ex UKSF member so I have a lot of experience with this type of equipment. I am very disappointed that all 5-11 day sacks seem to split at the shoulder strap where it joins the main bag. If you carry any sort of weight in them I would not bother if you are military looking for a 24/48 hr bag. I will not buy another day sack, they are not cheap until they make them more robust for actual work. For a range bag if you are not carrying much weight it is an excellent bag.I will not try to exchange it and I certainly don't expect anyone from 5-11 to respond to this but if they do and want exact details of both with uses and photos of the present one I am happy to help.
RaspundeBlaze,
I just got my pack in the mail and alls i can say is OMG so many pockets so little time. I love it already started packing it with basic survival gear. I really like the ease of use. I will definately tellign my buddies that hunt and fish about this pack
RaspundeJoe C.,
Put the 10.6 (H) to my Rush 24 bag and quickly discovered the 10.6's Slicksticks do NOT line up to make attachment & centering easy. Look on the backpacks and you will see six vertical usable MOLLE rows, now count the pouch; four Slicksticks with three spaces in-between. With a six-to-seven row ratio, had to squish the two middle on the pouch to put on my bag.
RaspundeAdam,
I use this pack as an EDC bag and have been for several months now. It has not let me down in any way, and I would whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone thinking of buying it. That being said, the fit of it on me was a bit off. I'm big and tall, and found that the size of it is a little small for me at times. Also (as has been said perhaps too many times before) it lacks a waist belt option. Yes there are attachment points for one, but 5.11 doesn't have an accessory available for it. (Brocos Belt aside.)All in all a great bag.
RaspundeJnarowe,
I use this pack mostly for hiking/jogging into work. It also doubles as one of our bug-out bags. This pack is tough as nails, well constructed, and fairly well thought out.Two "issues" I have with it are:1. That it did not come with a belt. Watching the product video I got confused because I thought all the Rush packs came with the built-in belt, but that is not the case. 2. The sternum strap is very high and I cannot change it's position. I would prefer it a few inches lower particularly when I run with the pack on.Overall, this is a very good pack.
RaspundePikes P.,
I will and use pack daily for everything from academy training, hunting to holding tactical gear and food for the day
RaspundeCromp,
great product.the only thing i think you should add to this are some straps in the main loading area for those of us who carry a laptop with us so we can secure it and that it cant move around when the bag is not fully loaded.
RaspundeAlex,
I use this backpack everyday, I ride my bike to work n when I go hiking, I highly recommend
RaspundeMonkey,
I love this pack. It is very sturdy and VERY well made. Plenty of room and very well organized. Everything seems just to be in the right place on this pack.
RaspundeLew T.,
This backpack works great for all my college needs. there are endless amounts of pockets of all different sizes. Plenty of room for gym clothes granola bars, water bottles, lunch, text books and ipad. The bag is relatively heavy on its own so don't get too carried away trying to use up all that pocket space. To my dismay the side pockets are not wide enough to hold a blender bottle. If you don't on taking this beast in the woods I'd recommend the rush 12.
RaspundeWeb D.,
I bought a range of backpack for my laptop including the Victorinox laptop back pack (the worst quality ever) but with the RUSH 24 I finally found the best Laptop, portable office ever.Extremely well engineered the RUSH 24 offers a great storage capability for all the cables and adapters.I found the quality of the materials excellent. The backpack is great in every detail, even the smallest one. You can tell that is designed from a user for the users.I am extremely satisfied and I strongly recommend The RUSH 24.I found the price fair, a good value for your money.
RaspundeTfit,
I HAVE THIS PACK ALONG WITH THE RUSH 72 AND THE MOAB 10, AND I LOVE THEM ALL; HOWEVER, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A FEW THINGS. ONE, WHY ARE ALL THE PACKS DIFFERENT? FROM THE RUSH 12 TO THE 24 TO THE 72, TO THE ALL NEW ALL HAZARD PRIME, ALL THESE BAGS ARE DIFFERENT, AND IT IS IRRITATING. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A PACK THE SIZE OF SOMETHING SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE 24 AND 72 (CLOSER TO THE 72 SIZE), THAT HAS A DEDICATED/PROTECTED LAPTOP COMPARTMENT THAT HOLDS THE STANDARD LAPTOP ACCESSORIES AND A REALLY NICE SIZE MAIN COMPARTMENT. I THINK THE PERFECT PACK WOULD BE TO TAKE THE RUSH 72 AND PUT DEDICATED LAPTOP/ADMIN COMPARTMENT ON IT. SOMETHING BEHIND THE MAIN COMPARTMENT THAT IS JUST LARGE ENOUTH TO HOLD A STANDARD 15" OR 17" LAPTOP/ACCESSORIES AND MAYBE A PLANNER/PORTFOLIO. I HAVE ULTIMATELY DECIDED TO GO BACK TO MY RUSH 72 B/C OF ITS SUPERIOR FUNCTIONALITY, BUT IF IT HAD A DEDICATED LAPTOP/ADMIN COMPARTMENT, I THINK IT WOULD BE THE PERFECT PACKPACK ANYONE COULD BUY. LEAVE THE MAIN COMPARTMENT AS IT IS. JUST ADD THAT L/A COMPARTMENT ON THE BACK WITH THE COMPRESSION STRAPS, AND THERE YOU GO! ON A SIDE NOTE, PLEASE DITCH THE ALL HAZARD PRIME AS IT IS A COMPLETE FAILED ATTEMPT. I KNOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN THE PERFECT PACK BUILT STRICTLY ON THE ADVICE OF PROFESSIONALS, BUT SERIOUSLY, YOU NEED TO GET NEW PROFESSIONALS IF THIS IS THEIR BRAIN CHILD. JUST MY INPUT.I'VE BOUGHT AND USED A NUMBER OF HIGH DOLLAR PACKS, AND I AM SOLD IN 5.11. HANDS DOWN THE BEST PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY. BEST QUALITY, BEST DESIGN (MULTIPLE COMPARTMENT POCKETS), BEST ALL PURPOSE PACK I'VE SEEN. WOULD ONLY MAKE THE SLIGHT DESIGN CHANGE MENTIONED ABOVE, AND THEN YOU'D HAVE THE ABSOLUTE PERFECT 5 STAR BACKPACK, WORLD WIDE.
RaspundeKoch001,
This backpack is awsome, I use it in duty and in my freetime outdoor. No problem in bad weather and very comfortable to wear. Very good item.
RaspundeSs01gt,
I love this bag it goes everywhere I go work, gym, shooting, vacation. So many pockets, heavy duty zippers and construction. You can always add accessory on to it later if you do choose to.
RaspundeCat M.,
Well organized back pack for my fishing equipment. I love to hike back to non-accesable locations along any water locations. Accessory pouches expand the ammount of equipment I can carry.
RaspundeDoc B.,
Used it for a 6 v havy trail in South Africa, worked perfectly! and can be carryed in the airpklanbe as hand luggage.
RaspundeDb,
This backpack is as advertised. I bought this bag for travel and everyday use and not disappointed. It has solid features, great organization and the build quality is nice.
RaspundeMark,
This is a replacement for a worn out backpack that carried my laptop, training gear and food and extra foul weather gear for the Firing Range. I Instruct three days a week and the Rush 24 is rugged enough to handle what is ahead.I would be nice if it was about 4 inches longer as I am 6'2" and it is a poor fit for me
RaspundeBriiiian,
I believe I did a review after a couple of weeks with this bag. It has been over a year, probably more like 18 months since I got the bag. I use it every day at work and it has held up very well. It's perfect for travel and school as well. The laptop compartment is also great for safekeeping documents. It holds A LOT. I have no signs of wear on the bag with the exception of a couple ripped threads that hold on the logo at the bottom. The bag has been through a dozen airports and several countries. I own two North Face bags that I use for camping, but this RUSH 24 beats them all. The only reason I will not use this bag is if it is very important not to give any type of military appearance. In that case I use my North Face "Hot Shot" or "Overhaul 40"
RaspundeCyclman,
I am a Sales Manager / road warrior. I have tons of junk I require in my business travels- wires, cables, iPad, computer, mobile, speakers, batteries, and all of the associated junk. This backpack has so much storage, I couldn't believe that everything fit into the pockets, with pockets to spare. Super high quality, great value. I don't know anything about hunting or hard care backpacking, but for urban uses, this pack rocks!
RaspundeBucca,
Plenty of room and easily organized. Would be nice if it was more comfortable on the shoulders when it is loaded up.
RaspundeBig W.,
I bought this backpack after I found myself unable to open doors on my way to work due to carrying too much. Any backpack would have worked for this, but not every pack allows me to take it out onto the river for a day/night of fishing and hiking without being ripped up in no time. The construction is very solid, (and beautiful in sandstone). I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 350. The pack fits me well even when packed with stuff including a 72 oz jug. I was indeed hesitant to spend this amount of dough on a backpack, but am very happy I did. This is worth the money.
RaspundeCorykman,
I am very particular about my travel gear. I want everything in its place for easy access on the plane, in security lines, and in the classroom. This bag meets all of my criteria. It is comfortable, even when I overload it. Usually, this bag weighs more than the suitcase that I put under the plane (with my unloaded firearm). It fits under all airline seats and in all overheads, except for the small regional jets. I can't say enough about this bag. I recommend it to all of my colleagues.
RaspundeMonkey,
This bag is amazing!!! It is not too big and not too small. It is perfect for everyday carry(for me anyway). I carry my 17 inch macbook pro along with all sorts of cables and gear, along with a full size towel, north face fleece, road flares, books, maps, etc. This bag is super comfortable to wear for extended periods while traveling through the airport. It conforms to carry on regulations so you can use it as carry on bag on flights without having to check it. I would highly recommend this bag. I have two of them and the quality is outstanding.
RaspundeMedic M.,
I use this pack for school and work. I'm a nursing student and I work at a level 1 trauma center. This bag fits my books, medical supplies, clothes, and daily odds and ends perfectly. Rugged design with a TON of storage. Fairly low profile as well. I was nervous about this pack being too big or ridiculous for school and work use but it is just perfect. My only gripe is that the side zipper pockets don't quite fit a full 1 liter nalgene. You CAN make it fit, but its TIGHT. Minor issue. No biggy. I also travel overseas for medical work and will be testing this bag in Africa for s few weeks. I have NO DOUBT it'll hold up great!
RaspundeNone,
An incredibly comfortable and spacious bag. I bought it as an EDC for school as well as for my upcoming semester abroad in London. It has an incredible amount of pockets for stashing things everywhere. It sits very comfortably, you don't notice the weight of what you're carrying.
RaspundeAndy,
i just bought this beg.i would like to know how to differentiate a fake and authentic.hopes expert can help me here.thank you
RaspundeBeardo,
I own a 17.3" mobile workstation, and commute to work via bike. I've purchased 2 other bags all above the $100 price point for this purpose, and I returned them both. While both bags were of solid construction none fit the computer well, and were not that comfortable to wear. I received this bag today in the mail. The construction is top notch. Everything they claim in reviews and videos is true. Not only does the computer fit in the bag, but I still have loads of room for other items I usually have to leave behind.(ie mouse, power adapter, prints, change of clothes). This is the best bag I've ever owned. I put everything in my bag to ride home (bag weighing over 15lbs), and this bag is still more comfortable than any of the other bags I've tried. This is the best bag you'll ever own! I can't recommend this bag enough! 160 reviewers can't be wrong! Thanks 5.11 You've made a customer for life. Can't wait for my next purchase!
RaspundeVp M.,
I wanted a purposeful, functional, and well made office (warrior) bag for the stuff I normally put into my laptop bag ( including my laptop ). I did not want to be a lemming and get Tumi, Swiss Army, or the myrid of other off the shelf laptop / busienss bags, that say look at me I made it. This backpack fits the bill and allows me the space to showcase the American flag, via velcro patch. I have only had it 3 weeks, so I can not speaker to durability, but it looks made to take it. It has a great number of pockets, excellent for storing all sorts of typical busienss warrior items. I have a 12" Lenovo X230 that fits perfectly into the hydration pounch. The only improvment I request is some sort of waterproof padding on the bottom of the hydration pouch to protect laptop when placing bag on the ground. Luckily I have a a long strip of foam, but would rather have something water proof, so I do not have to replace for those times I actually use a hydration device. 5.11: You really should market this product better to the busienss warrior types looking to stand out and make a statement. Good enought for PD/FD/ML, good enough for you, Mr. Busienss Warrior.
RaspundeLew,
I owned TWO (2) 5.11 Rush 24 backpacks, one black v1 (myself) and one v2 standstone (my wife). Good quality and it is able to withstand harsh environments. I don't think it is a 24 hour bag, if you travel light you can pack 2 - 3 days items.
RaspundeFred,
Great service bag! lots of room, and dividers within to stay organized. Very sturdy. Only draw-back is the elastic loops on the adjustment straps made it harder to keep a constant fit. but i fixed that issue by removing those loops. i added a medic pouch--bag doubles as a hiking/camping bag and a BOB.
RaspundeTrey,
I regularly put about 30 pounds in this pack. As an engineering student I have a lot of books to carry around. Originally I bought it for the military, but since I cannot get in now I use it solely for school and to put shooting equipment in when I go shooting. So far I have had it about 6 months and no breaks/tears etc, but I would like to think that I take care of it well. One of the things I like the most is the topmost glasses pocket. When I got it, I didn't really think I'd use it and now I use it every time I use the pack. Great pack, although I do have one way to make it better. The straps are straight, it would help a little if they were more ergonomic. Overall it fits well, if you wear it correctly.
RaspundeAaron,
This bag has been great!!! I ordered one for my father in law for Christmas and was so pleased with it I ordered one for myself. I mainly use this pack for the gun range but some how it always finds itself in my truck with me where ever i go. 5.11 blows all other companies away. Thanks for a great product!!
RaspundeBalooz,
I use it for everything the 24 pack is perfect for a laptop as well as anything else you need. It has great add on options that are endless.
RaspundeMal,
Great bag. I'm using as my daily carry-all for now, though it's a lot of bag for that. It seems rugged and well-made. Looking forward to years of heavy use.
RaspundeNavyseal,
A nice backpack to use at the schooting range.you can al your stuff in the backpack from weaponaccessories to mp4 player, smart phone, weapon maintenance equipment and I can still go on.in short a great backpack to have.
RaspundeYenda,
Great multipurpose bag just fit into its name. Big enough for 24hr shift and even more. so far I have no complains.
RaspundeAgent M.,
The main zipper pocket is too far forward on the bag, and makes loading awkward. The small, top zipper pockets are little inconvenient, as they zip open sideways, and things tend to fall out.Construction-wise, it feels amazingly strong for such a lightweight bag. Lots of pockets and storage, and heavy, adequate straps make it feel like it's going to last a long time. Color, fit and finish seem top-notch, and as I just bought this, I'm hoping to use it for many years to come.
RaspundeDw,
One thing I think is missing are loops at the end of the shoulder straps. This would make the straps easier to grab and adjust when wearing gloves or in a hurry. I plan to have some sewn on but otherwise this pack is GREAT.
RaspundeHawaii Z.,
First off, let me just say 5.11 customer service is the BEST customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. I own two RUSH 24 Bags - I purchased my first (coyote) about 3.5 years ago while in college for a general camping/outdoor bag. My other bag (black) was purchased about 1.5 years ago to keep my PT gear in that would go well with my ABUs. The coyote colored bag's threading near the zipper started to come undone after years of use, and I emailed 5.11 last week and they are sending me a BRAND NEW backpack!!! Incredible. What other company EVER takes care of customers in this manor? Not only that, but the customer service rep I spoke to let me change the color to sandstone, since that was not available when I originally purchased the bag. Because of things like this, I have gone back to 5.11 again and again. Both 24 bags I own are incredibly solid, and have been through total hell and back. They are comfortable, and surprisingly work great as carry-ons. I also recommend the RUSH 24, as well as the fantastic MOAB 10. The MOAB 10 has become my day to day bag, and it is built just as well as the RUSH bags. Long story short: You CANNOT go wrong with this, or any of the other 5.11 bags and products. And if you somehow do manage to break something, 5.11 has your back!Thank you 5.11, you are beyond great and are how American business's should be.
RaspundeDan O.,
Great bag. I use it as a BLS bag with a padded 6.6 bag, 6.6 med pouch and water bottle holder attached.
RaspundeShawn,
I use this bag to haul my gear to wrestling practice and meets, as well as traveling and hunting. There are pockets inside the pockets, and a great storage area for a laptop. The chest strap is great for distributing the weight. This bag is so fantastic I am purchasing one for my daughter to use at college for carrying her books and laptop!
RaspundeMoose,
Very handy for carrying my kit back and forth when at work
RaspundeGriff,
Very comfortable, very tough, extremely high quality, worth every penny.
RaspundeCe 0.,

RaspundeFrancis A.,
its so roomy inside i wonder what the rush 72 would be i just might get the rush 72 and also might get the rush 12 just for the hell of it
RaspundeGhost,
This will probably be the last bookbag i own. i use it for school, and for my duty night. owning a laptop with a 17inch scrren, its hard to find a good bookbag to put a laptop that big in, this pack is perfect for it. i can fit so much stuff in it its insane! the 72 pack would come in handy every now and then, but most of the time that would be to much space. this is perfect for every day use. its very durable and comfortable on the shoulders.
RaspundeGonzo,
I researched this bag and then bought on the recommendation on a fellow officer. Well thought out pocket placement and the Molle system is great for adding extra gear. The discreet enough not to be noticed by civilians and stands out to those in the know, great job 5:11.
RaspundeDesert T.,
Im an LEO and Ive been able to transfer everything from my patrol bag and bailout bag into this fine product. TONS of space, many compartments all of which secure with heavy duty zippers. Ability to carry a hydropack, awesome. I'm also on the search and rescue team. This multi-function bag is ready for anything. Go to YouTube and search this product. You'll find many happy customers. Need practical, portable gear storage? This pack is it!!
RaspundeIves,
After dealing with many frail backpacks for the majority of my life (never had one that stayed together for more than a couple months, even a swiss gear) I recieved this pack, that was 3 years ago and so far, until just this month it took absolutely no damage, unfortunately the chest strap buckle broke, one of the tongs snapped off, however the other tong still holds the packs weight just fine by itself. This is an incredibly durable pack.
RaspundeHammerhead,
I have used the RUSH 24 backpack twice now for "weekend" trips. The organization it affords with its several compartments is wonderful. It was easy to pack, unpack, and pack again quickly. I haven't carried it for long periods as a backpack, but straps and cushions feel sturdy and appear comfortable.
RaspundeAjax,
The 72 is perfect for the field (2 years of use). The 12 is perfect for a contained event (3 years of use).
RaspundeHcso25,
I use this Bag in my everyday patrol function as well as off the job. The bag itself is able to adapt to any mission I need it for. I can add and subtract various pouches from it such has extra mag holders for both my handgun and rifle, small trauma pouches, etc. I've put the bag through a rough tests in the field and it has held up perfectly, I couldn't ask for a better one.
RaspundeGreg I.,
I bought this bag for daily use with a laptop and various other office items. The number of pockets is amazing, I carry extra hard drives, wireless devices and cables and this is the only bag I have owned that helped to keep all this organized. The construction is extremely well done and durable. This bag also rides higher on the back than other bags I have owned making it very comfortable to wear around.Great product, coupled with the MPC Case as the laptop carrier.
RaspundeDes,
I am carrying the Rush 24 in my patrol unit, works well with all my gear. This pack is very well made, and I like the many pockets and ease of attaching other items to the molle system.
RaspundeCharlie,
This is an outstanding piece of equipment. The layout and zip design make it easy to get at kit packed anywhere within the daysack with ease and without having to unload your entire rig to get at the bottom items.Having just finished a course that requires heavy burdens to be carried (often up to 60lb in the daysack) I noticed that the RUSH 24 did not lose a single stitch, whilst other products fell by the wayside, very robust. The capacity was also excellent whilst remaining relatively narrow, which aided in urban operations. The single yoke design on the shoulder straps is also noticeably more comfortable than comparative daysacks.VHF/HARRIS type radios pack well into the main body and keep your back free of clutter thanks to the hydration/antenna flaps.A very good, though through product with the ability to compartmentalise your loadout well. I will definitely take this pack forwards on operations.
RaspundeJake,
I use this backpack for school, camping, hunting, its usually my first choice when i go to load up equiptment of any kind.Solid bag, I dig the Olive Drab its such a nice color, blends well. The only problem I have is that everyone who sees me wearing this bag thinks im a soldier (even though I plan on enlisting) so if you wanna keep things on the down low maybe think about the black, but im a big fan of the Olive. As far cons go, the only complaint I have is the lack of hip straps, sometimes if you really load it heavily, it would be nice to have some kind of hip belt to better distribute weight (like a hiking backpack)As for Pros like I already said the olive looks so crisp, I got a flag and a nametape on mine so that velcro patch is nice, the molle everywhere adds customization to the mix.I gave this bag a 4 out of 5 because Its not perfect, but it comes pretty closeOverall If you buy this bag, You wont be let down
RaspundeBk,
I use this bag daily on and off the job. Works great for air travel. I should have bought two.
RaspundeBen,
This pack has been very handy for everyday carry. I've used it for school, hikes and on trips. I've actually been able to pack it with enough gear for 3 days. It makes an excellent carry on, as even when it's filled it still fits snuggly into overheads and under the seat. It could use some gel padding in the shoulders; mine get sore after about 2 hours when it's fully loaded. Otherwise it's extremely comfortable and versatile.
RaspundeDave,
I purchased this backpack because two co-workers own it and it was perfect for what I wanted to use if for (a get-home bag). The backpack I received was labeled "Updated Design." It was smaller and the quality of construction appeared much lower than my co-workers' Rush 24 packs, especially the zippers. When I contacted 5.11 customer service regarding the change they were extremely courteous but informed me that the original style packs were no longer available. If I had not seen the much better original pack design to compare the new design to I wouldn't have been as disappointed, but still would have had to return it due to the smaller size.
RaspundeM G.,
This pack is comfotable while carrying a lot of gear. I can use it alone for a quick two day, maybe even three day, trip. Will hold needed fight gear, works well for the range and just general usage.
RaspundePark R.,
I use this pack daily while performing backcountry patrols and it has more than served it's purpose. I can carry all the supplies I might need out in the middle of no where easily in this pack. There seems to be a pocket for anything I might need, which makes it a great pack. My only complaint is that the straps seem to want to readjust themselves every once in a while which can get a little uncomfortable but other than that this pack is gone above and beyond so far.
RaspundeEars,
i bought this bag about 18 months ago and have never had a bad day out with it. I use it mainly as a sort of hybrid first aid pack/daysack, and i use it almost every day.pretty versitile due to number of internal and external access pockets, mollee compatible, can use loads of aftermarket pouches, good size, RUSH72 is available for trips that would include a few days away from the 'office'. looks the business, but that is also a slight draw back, as anyone familiar with 5.11 kit or anyone in the military/law enforcement/security agencies will give you a double take due to its appearance and its easy to give yourself away, so in general 5.11 kit is a no-go for anything you dont want to attract attention on. surveilance work for example would be a bad idea with this bag id suggest, but happily the good people at 5.11 seem to have thought of this and i understand theres a covert version of some kind of 5.11 bag? couldnt confirm that for you though.overall super happy with this pack, its served me well and its still going strong. on the strength of this bags performance, im just about to purchase a new 5.11 bag, the rush messenger, which ill use for the laptop and a few other electrical bits and bobs. super happy with all my 5.11 kit and id recomend it to anyone, even people who just use it for sitting on the bus and looking slightly cooler than everyone around them!
RaspundeTklev,
Man this backback is perfect its my range bag and when I have school I can put all my school stuff in it. Excellent buy.Thank u 5.11
RaspundeSerpico,
I carry this with me almost daily to the range filled with gear and water bladder. Prior to that kept a rappel harness, rope, 'biners, gloves, energy/protien bars, gun magazines, ammo, door wedges, 100oz water bladder, etc.
Raspunde2crazy2stop,
I use this pack every day going to and from work. I also use to when I am riding my motorcycle, once it is on your back, you don't even notice it is there. There are a ton of places to put things, at times so many you forget what is in there.
RaspundeLou,
JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THE STRAP THAT GOES ARUOND THE CHEST AREA BY THE LEFT SIDE BROKE JUST WALKING AROUND WITH THE BAG.
RaspundeMarcos,
I pack a couple of bottles of Smart Water, some emergency food, a ToughBook and some other odds and ends for traveling to our remote mountain top transmitter sites. Everything fits in perfectly!
RaspundeNate,
This is a great back that I have had during my last two years of Highschool and is now with me for my Military career. I have used this bag for my sailing adventures, outdoor outings, on base during tech school and just a back to carry all of my atuff. The pockets are very well thought of and the 1050D Nylon really gives this bag a PROVEN ruggedness. Another thing about this bag, and others from 5.11, is the fact that you can drop in a hydration pouch and feed the drinking tube through the top. Overall this is an excellent bag from a great company who knows who their target audience is and caters to them. Functional use over the "tacti-cool" look is always an A+ in my book and this seems to be 5.11's policy.
RaspundeRick S.,
Bought it as a BOB back in February, hasn't given me a problem yet. I work in the oil and gas industry and I use the bag as an EDC. On the job it carries food, water, extra clothing, knives, books, job related tools etc. At home I use it for fishing, one night hikes, hunting and over night camping trips. I also use it for schooling and travelling on the motorcycle as it straps to the seat quite easily. The front pocket is useful for handling large books, laptops, steel squares(drafting in school and in the field). The main compartment is good for about three large binders(about four inches thick) comfortably, or food, cold weather/rain gear. The additional pockets inside the main compartment are useful for quick access of smaller items. The side pockets are great for water bottles and items that can be rolled up. The pocket in the back is useful for smaller books, knives, flashlights, loto gear. When I'm in school I attach two vertical 6.10 pouches to the back to minimize profile and a 6.6 pouch to the top. I found that I could use the webbing to strap the bag to my motorcycle(I drive a Honda 919) by running the front sling from the base of the bag side webbing under the seat and the rear sling from the the side webbing on top of the bag around the rear grab bar. It has stood up to rain, snow, high impacts, heavy loading, and 150km/h winds(while strapped to the bike). No complaints, I'd recommend this bag to anybody.
RaspundeDrake,
Used during a tour in Afghanistan, although it mostly sat on the LAV. Loved the pockets to hold smaller random kit, main compartment more than large enough to hold spare clothes when the temps dropped overnight. However, wished the sternum strap was adjustable for height, and after about 2 months of fairly light use, I had worn a small hole in the bottom of the bag. This could be because of the rough surface of our vehicle, or maybe I was just unlucky.
RaspundeTjarco,
Just bought myself this Backpack so I can't review the durability of this Pack but I hope this pack will stay with me for a long time, it certainly looks like it's up for the task! I do already know I was able to pack this with all the stuff I sometimes hate I do not carry around, because my previous backpack, which however is just a bit smaller, could not carry all of my possessions and keep them so well organised. This bag really is a life-hack or an upgrade to anyone who is out-of-home often and wants to able to grab things with eyes closed. When in a urban setting this can easliy be a 3day pack and with all the molle it can be an outdoor 3day pack as well adding tents, sleeping backs etc. Carrying heavy loads feels very comfortable with the should strap design.I ultimately choose the Rush above the All-Hazards although it was difficult choosing between these two. The biggest flaw of the Rush is the lack of a dedicated padded Laptop compartment. However there are plenty of pockets which could fit a laptop, there is not one really suited. But for less of the price of an All-hazards, I also bought and MPC Case. With the MPC as modular business unit containing laptop, accesories & agenda it's easy to transform between an urban nomad travelling by skateboard to a business situation maintaining an professional image. The amount of pockets on the outside reachable by throwing the back front over one shoulder, ultimately made me choose for the RUSH24. The side and "butterfly" front pockets are great for quick acces to drinking bottles, flashlights, umbrellas, pocket camera's and other things you could might need in a swing.I could advise anyone getting some RUSH Tier clips with this bag. I added two RUSH tier clips to the bottom of the sides as extra compression straps to keep things even more locked in. And will be using two other ones to the front to be able to attach my skate- or snowboard. One thing that definitely needs more customizing is the waist belt. When snowboarding a waist belt is pretty essential for keeping things safe, however there are two TRI-glide attachment clips available the 5.11 Distributor in the Netherlands couldn't tell me if there is a dedicated 5.11 (padded) waist belt on the market. (request to 5.11 on this one!) Don't get me wrong here I like this bag a lot, but as an born pessimist with an product design background I have some other critique/advice for 5.11 to make this bag even greater. - The fleece lined top pocket becomes kinda useless for keeping sunglasses when the back is fully packed. They solved this problem with the ALL-Hazards though, a goggle compartment on top of this RUSH24 might not be a bad idea in my opinion. This back wears pretty high on the back so there is enough space to move things down a bit and adding a few inches on top. Another thing are the zippers on the butterfly front pockets, when closed the zippers are located at the top off the packed, leaving a tiny opening for rain to get in the pocket. Finally a emergency whistle built in the sternum strap like F-Stop does would be cool, All minor things though (Except from the waist belt, please sell me one 5.11!!!)This bag has already given me an experience I never had until now, it's really a awesomely well organised personal transport system enlarging my possibilities and in-dependency from base camp. I don't know any other brand which is this keen on organising, ruggedness and attention to details. Right now I love this thing most from having a dedicated water bladder pocket, later on I will love another feature and so on. Great stuff! 4/5 Stars (Have to see how durable it really is)P.S. I would have paid 30$ more for DigiCAM
RaspundeBrandon,
Overall, a well made quality backpack. Plenty of room for a weekend trip. I would roll my clothing, and could fit two pairs of jeans, two shirts, under clothing, toiletries, handgun w/ spare mag, and many other small accessories with room to spare. Although it is a high quality bag, I am not pleased with the going price. I would be happy to see this bag with a price tag closer to $100. I found two downsides to the bag. When not fully loaded, the upper, exterior part of the bag would "stick out." It would still look full and in my opinion, silly. One other thing that I do not like are the patches towards the bottom of the backpack that are made to "grip" your body and stick close to your back, to help keep the bag in place. I noticed that while walking, it would rub against my back and did not care for this.
RaspundeCharlie,
Awesome awesome bag. Big enough for everything I need and more. You have to see how great this bag is for yourself. It's comfortable and the name tape and flag looks professional as well. I Cary it from post to post 12 hours a day and it's rugged as any bag I've ever owned or seen.
RaspundeSteve S.,
At first this pack was great. But after 6 months of light day use, the stitches started falling apart. It's hard to call something tactical if its so fragile
RaspundeDr,
I was recently at a Viking tactics class and the training was world class. While I was there I received the Rush 24 backpack as a prize. The pack is awesome. There are so many pockets to store gear. As a LEO I have many different things to carry around everyday and this bag is perfect. I have had a lot of backpacks and this one is top of the line. Thanks 5.11 and Kyle Lamb for the great backpack and the great training.
RaspundeThat's Y.,
I'm a huge fan of this backpack. When I first opened the box it came in, I thought I was accidentally sent the Rush 72 Backpack because it was a lot bigger than I was anticipating. The zippers are of solid construction and the seams appear very strong. The only ways I can think of to improve this product would be removing the buckles on the actual shoulder straps (I don't see the reason behind having buckles there), and including a bladder for the hydration pocket. Other than those two suggestions, this backpack is precisely what I was looking for. Home run, 5.11.
RaspundeTbob305,
I use this for work and its the best bag I've used. All purpose and many storage compartments.
RaspundeCamera F.,
I feel a bit deceived because I was under the impression this backpack was made in America but after receiving it I found a tag saying...made in china. it is a nice backpack although I wonder if I would have purchased it if I had known that information. anyway. nice backpack, plenty of pockets, I counted about 20+ pockets for whatever you carry. plenty of molle/webbing.
RaspundeCurrahee,
I am a former Army Paratrooper and use this bag for a daily commute via bus & light rail. I travel to a Veteran's facility for kinesiotherapy following a lumbar spinal fusion and I pack a lot of gear.I feel like a magician when I load my RUSH 24! It doesn't seem to matter what I throw at it ~ it just disappears like magic! The organization is great, also! There is a place for everything with lots of hidden pockets. The two lengthy side pockets are perfect for a 700ml water bottle on one side and even a collapsible golf-size umbrella on the other side. Voila! Out of sight, out of mind, but always within reach. The main compartment loads easily and is actually much larger than I had originally anticipated. I love the fact that I can access the numerous, zippered, interior pockets from either top or bottom. That makes getting to my stuff so much easier! After trying other manufacturers products and being disappointed, I am extremely pleased to have finally found a product that truly exceeds my expectations. The RUSH 24 is everything I was looking for in an EDC bag...and so much more!I am truly in love with this bag and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a rugged, functional backpack.
RaspundeDoctorz,
i carry my everyday item in it all 8 pounds of them and i attach my leatherman Mut , man these two are made for each other, alsu i used it for trip on airplane and it withstood the bad treatment of the airport agent
RaspundePapo,
Just purchased this backpack and put all my gear including my lap top and still have room and pockets available for other items. I Tried it around the house and is very comfortable. Thanks for such a great backpack ... I would definitely recommend this back to my friends.
RaspundeTrent,
I am a student, but I carry a bug out bag everywhere I go. The Rush 24 is a rugged, well-thought-out bag with plenty of pockets so I can keep my school supplies and all my other stuff separated, each in its own pocket. The 5.11 production quality goes without saying and is unmatched. The next bag I get will be the Rush 72, without question.
RaspundeLevi,
I use this bag for everything. Perfect for packing out to the range or anything else you may need more than a pockets worth of gear for. I am very tough on packs, and this thing is able to take more than I can through at it.
RaspundeBen,
I had no problem fitting items into pockets so I could get through securty quick at the airport.
RaspundeBennanias,
Great for loading out mags and general range gear. Plenty of larger mesh pockets inside the major main compartment while there are several smaller ones on the outside for various gear. Great way to keep everything organized. No snagging either when I am in a hurry. Work great for holding books, mags, a laptop charger, etc. and keeping them separated. Overall, a great durable pack inside and out. I don't have to worry about my gear being damaged by the other contents or the wear and tear of being a range bag.
RaspundeBoomer,
Great bag for more than just a day. Used it as a go bag for day long missions and lived out of it for over a week as well. Small enough to store in HMMWV and keep all of your gear necessary for mission completion. Very versatile bag. Lot of storage space and pockets to keep gear protected and securely stowed.
RaspundeTaylor,
I used/am using this backpack for over 3 years and it still holds up just fine. I've had some relatively small problems, but they're still problems. The elastic cord on the interior of the large pocket has snapped(after 2 and half years so it's not that bad but still), but the the biggest thing that annoys me is how easily the shoulder straps will loosen on their own. Granted I keep my backpack heavy and filled with goodies, but the shoulder straps should maintain their length for more than a day or so, I try to keep them the same length but over the course of a day or so they get longer and longer. Also, in the winter time a wear a leather Harley jacket with shoulder vents that are zippered and over 2 years that zipper has almost worn through the strap, so just keep in mind while this stuff is made to last you CAN wear it out if you overlook some avoidable things.
RaspundeTeton W.,
I am an Air Force Vet who recently returned to college last spring. I carry about 50lbs of books and supplies daily. My first two semesters I went through two backpacks. Both tore where shoulder straps stitches to the top of the pack because of the weight of the books. After two months The Rush 24 shows no signs of wear or tear and I love the water-repellent material that protects my books in the snowy Wisconsin winter. I look forward to using my Rush 24 pack for my outdoors adventures this summer. I definitely will be picking up a couple more in the near future.
RaspundePotamus,
This is the perfect bag to use for any reason. I keep a few main things in this bag, but I am changing the contents out a lot to adjust to the mission that I have. I can not say enough about this bag,but I can say I have not torn it up and do not expect too.
RaspundeJe,
I have had this bag for about 2 months now and I love it. I use it as a camping backpack and I am able to load up 2 days worth of things in it. I also use this bag for carrying things to work on my motorcycle. The straps make it feel like I'm not even wearing it.
RaspundeMinnesota F.,
The Rush 24 works great for a all day motorcycle trip. I Ride and enduro alot and this bag has taken a beating both on and off road. Although it is a little on the heavy side, its construction makes it with stand the wind as your riding down the interstate. I CCW a 1911, spare mags, first aid kit, hydration kit, tire pump and patches, snacks, and rain gear with plenty of room to spare.
RaspundeLazlo,
I use this bag daily to carry my laptop, notebooks, cables, and supplies. It's the most comfortable bag that I've ever owned. Lots of pockets, a couple of which I still haven't used. The hydration pocket fits a 15" Mac laptop. One nice touch is that the pack stands up even when fully loaded and doesn't fall over like a lot of competitors. I'm ordering a second one of these to hold my photography equipment. Definitely recommended. If I could add anything to the bag, it would be tabs at the bottom front and back for tether cord to sling some gear underneath.
RaspundeTp,
The best pack I've ever had/used! I had a Camelback BFM issued to me in Iraq, and I didn't really like it. The pockets were big, sure, but the space was not used wisely. The RUSH 24 is awesome. So many well-planned usable pockets. The pack is not waterproof at all. If it rains your gear will get wet. That's my only gripe about this pack. I bought an REI Duck's Back 20 waterproof cover for it though, and I hook the cover storage bag onto the MOLLE straps, so my concern is mitigated.
RaspundeTim,
I have been using the pack for more than a year now for EDC, Festivals in very dry and dusty environments and in very heavy rain (heavy being the sort of 'walk 1 minute in it and you're completely drenched').So far it has not really let me down. There is one thing, though, that may be worth adding and that is a rain cover. This might either be a builtin one that you pull out of a pouch at the bottom (as on my big hiking pack) and over the whole pack or an accessory that can somehow be affixed to the pack. When in said heavy rain the inside of the pack takes on water. Not a whole lot, but it has cost me a (not terribly expensive) digicam. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame that on the Rush24 - after all, I blame that on me since I could have put the camera in a waterproof container, which I didn't. Well...I live and I learn.Others, though, might have less luck and lose more expensive equipment to a few ounces of water.Sure, you could bring a poncho, but that would take space that might otherwise be neeed. The sternum strap can come off if it gets tangled somewhere. If you are likely to get in a situation like that, you should either close it or remove it altogether.Useful mods:I just put paracord cobra weave on the handle to broaden it because I found it too thin and not easy to grab, especially when in a hurry. Other than that I am happy. No broken stitches, no holes, no broken, ripped or frayed zippers. This thing is built to last.
RaspundeMike,
I was in need of ANOTHER backpack, manbag, murse, whatever you need to call it. I walked into a local LEO store and there it was on the rack.I cannot tell you how nice it is to buy something that actually suits MY needs in whole.Keep up the great work. I have passed the word on and now I cannot tell which backpack in the PD because we have so many!
RaspundeM109jb,
I bought this pack around the beginning of the year mostly for school, and it hasn't let me down! The storage space and capabilities, cushioned pockets, comfortable wear, and molle everywhere! This pack can handle all my books for one day of classes, with room for pens, paper, etc. The sunglass pocket on top is useful for my reading glasses. I have taken this bad boy on hiking, general errands, and anything else I needed it for. Very durable and amazing versatility!
RaspundePhilly F.,
This is advertised as a day pack, but it is huge! With the Molle straps on the out side, there is plenty of room for extra pouches (I have a water bottle pouch, the padded 6x6 pouch, and a medium dump pouch on mine). As an example of the roomy interior, I recently took this pack to a theme park with the family. There were 8 of us, and I was able to hold 7 adult-sized sweat shirts in the pack with room to spare!!! I wore it for about 12 hours and was comfortable the entire time.
RaspundeEvileyes2001,
I travel frequently (global and domestic; chose black for keeping a "low profile") and was looking for a pack for a trip my wife and I took recently. Was looking around for a pack that would also hold a laptop and this pack filled that role and then some. Was able to pack the laptop in an easy access way and still had plenty of room to pack a set of "over night" clothes (in case we were held over in an airport); DOP kit; camera; MP3 Player; plus other assorted accessories. Would highly recommend this pack for anyone that travels frequently. Fits well as an airline carry-on; better than my brief/laptop case with a lot more room.
RaspundeSgt4mb,
I just purchased the RUSH 24 in OD green. The pack is bar none in quality and material. This is a very heavy pack with numerous pouches. Nice heavy zippers, molle attachment points, and a built-in hydration compartment. It is so comfortable due to the padding in the back and straps. I have had several packs, and this is by far the best one I have owned and well worth the money. Now they just need to make one in ACU or Digital army pattern.
RaspundeB C.,
I bought this because I was tired of using a standard patrol bag. It has a great amount of pockets, and the organizer helps me put things that I need in places where I know they will not get mixed up with other things.I love having the webbing on the front and sides. I have attached several pouches for things that I need quick access to, and don't want to have to open the pack for. It is great to have the ability to add on the packs for extra storage when I need it.It's also easier to transport the bag. I just toss it on my back, and I don't have to worry about having it swing about my legs. I also have both hands and arms free.I love this bag.
RaspundeGeardo,
The Rush 24 is very functional, all of it's pockets help me to keep things all organized, from clothes, documents, electronics, or kit. However, the bag isn't as rugged as I would have liked it to be. After I bought it, one of the straps ripped out while I was boarding a plane. I had the bag replaced FOR FREE!!! but the second bag was similarly defective.I still use the bag often, but not for heavy loads (ie. a couple litres of water)
RaspundeJmrwcso,
I purchased this bag when they first came out and I must say it has been the best bag for the money I have ever used in the field. The storage layout is user friendly and allows the user to access gear fast. With the molle webbing I have used several other 5.11 pouches to give the bag a custum touch for my daily needs. It has stood-up to heavy daily use (No joke, I use this bag every day!) to include getting wet, sun baked, tossed in/out of boats/cars, run through the woods, etc... Again, simply the BEST BAG FOR THE MONEY!
RaspundeO.D.,
I'm a civilian but buy only military issue gear and clothing due to the tremendous difference in quality and ruggedness over "civilian issue". This pack fits my needs as none other, for ANY price! Lots of pockets and compartments for whatever I could need to carry along. Very comfortable shoulder harness, but I would swap the sternum strap for a belt. Highly recommend for backpacking or emergency use.
RaspundeShowtime,
This pack is awesome!!!! The hardest part about it is finding enough stuff to fill the pockets.Very durable and ready for anything you through at it.Cant go wrong with this purchase!!
RaspundePanzerhund0311,
I've been searching for the perfect pack for years now. I've spent well over $1000 USC to figure out what pack I like the best. I believe I've found it with this pack! It's made very strong, easy to use, fits what you will need, great shoulder and back support with heavy loads, easy to reach hydration sleeve and many other great features! Great for any types of patrol work, K9 operations, PSD, Outdoors, and what every type of LE/Military operation you may be working. The only down side is the colors. Wish it was made in MULTICAM, ACU, or MARPAT for our Troops! Over all, I give the pack 100%!
RaspundeHandler,
This bag is perfect. The pockets are endless providing the right storage configuration for any mission or job. I use mine in the field, on the job, and even on personal travel. I can pack a weeks worth of clothes and gear (including laptop) and never have to check in extra baggage. The straps and back pads are fully adjustable and fit comfortably for hours (8+). I'm 5ft 10 and my partner is 6ft 2, and ours fit like a glove. The Rush 24 is the bag for all occasions and all sizes.
RaspundeB C.,
I bought this bag for use instead of the traditional duty bag. It holds everything that I need on patrol, and offers more organizational options than a traditional duty bag. The ability to add on more space is a great option as well.I placed the cellphone holder. I also have a double mag puche on the bag which I have tools such as a leatherman for quick access, instead of having it on my belt. The fleece lined pockets are great of storing my glasses, and electronic devices. I also find that the numerous pockets allow me to organize everything in a quick and easy way.
RaspundeNydz,
When I got this pack it surpassed my expectations. This "24" hour pack is big enough for more than 24 hours for sure. It's very well built. Loads of great pockets that are actually usable and well though out, unlike some other packs out there. I love those side pockets. The price is surprising considering how well made it is. It's as good or better made than packs costing much more, in my opinion. Great job!
RaspundeMillerz1897,
I work for a national disaster response agency and had to replace my "bug-out bag." I spent many hours of diligent research comparing and contrasting features. This bag has exceed my expectations and I recommend it to you without hesitation. However, be aware, this is not a 72 hour bag when it comes to capacity. If you need a large bag this is not for you.
RaspundeDenster,
Finally, a backpack large enough for my daily briefcase needs! I carry a large three-ring notebook, a large Study Bible and a laptop with me and every other backpack I looked at was too small. This one is perfect. The online descriptions don't do it justice, as it has a ton of pockets and compartments! I use the very back panel (meant for hydration) as my laptop storage and it's been greatjust what I need!
RaspundeTa C.,
After alot of research, I purchased this pack and it has turned out to be a great backpack for the money. I keep all my gear in it and still have room for extras. I don't leave home without it.
RaspundeJulio,
Right when I got this pack, I knew it was made of high quality materials. It seems very durable and well made. It's a pretty big pack that is able to carry a lot of gear. The only thing I don't like so far is that the bottom of the pack has drain holes in it. Haven't come across this yet, but if you set the pack down in water or something, the stuff inside the pack may have the potential to get wet. There are a lot of different pockets to stow all sizes of gear. The price isn't great, but hopefully I won't have to buy any other backpack again.
RaspundeHighway51,
This is a great pack. It leaves the house with me every day and serves as my OS bag. It has more pockets then I have stuff to put in them. I keep a full change of clothes including a pair of sneakers in it as well as electronics, first aid kit and a multitude of other items and it still have a huge amount of room left. Best ruck out there for the money.
RaspundeUsn,
I use this bag when goin across country many times a year on detatchments or on deployments. I have my big duffle for clothes and uniforms. But this bag makes a great carry-on. I can put everything I don't want to check inside and know exactly where it all is! Best bag I've ever owned. I wish I'd known about 5.11 when I was a kid!!!
RaspundeTc4179,
Outstanding Ruck - fully compartmentalized, extremely durable, well built and washable. Great value for the quality.
RaspundeDanlaso,
I have been a police officer for nineteen years and have been working patrol for the majority of the time. For the past four years I have been assigned as a detective/surveillance team and most of the time I work in plain clothes during surveillance. I wanted something to carry my gear without bringing too much attention to myself from previous traditional large patrol bags. Don't get me wrong. Patrol bags have their place. However, With the 24 pack I carry all my gear I need with plenty of room to store food that will last me through out the day for those long fixed post surveillances. I could still quickly put on the pack and walk around without bringing attention to myself. On occasion I will work regular patrol. I now use the pack as my patrol bag. I have yet to run out of room in this pack. By far the best bag I have purchased.
RaspundeS.O. D.,
I used this pack while on Vacation in Washington D.C. IT WAS GREAT! Very easy to get thru security checkpoints and X-Ray Machine Friendy! It was great during the long days of walking around the capital.
RaspundeTf34racer,
this bag is great. i work on aircraft and am exposed to some nasty chemicals. this bag has been bathed in jet fuel, oil, and hydraulic fluid and still looks great. its waterproofing has managed to keep those chemicals out of it too. there are more than enough pockets to hold and organize all my gear. this bag is a beast and i woould recomend it to anyone.
RaspundeTsocaputo,
this bag is very well put together with good space and dividers. my only wish is that i got the bigger one. but as far as bags go for the money this is a decent value
RaspundeSpike,
i guess i will not buy another "rucksack" in my life again ;)( and i bought a lot already but they could not stand up to this one or it`s bigger brother the 72 !)use it everyday, fits perfect on my back and even full loaded with supplies from the supermarket it is comfortable enough and doesn`t look hugethe internal dividers, haha, changed around all the time and had to search half of the time at the start until i found my order, now all essentialls incl. a small medic pack, chemlights, gloves etc.liked the FDE color as it is outstanding from all the black and i change the patches on the velcro depending on mood ;)and the outside molle webbing is plastered with Grimloc and webdominator for even more capacity as well as a VTAC H2O Carrierliked to have a waistbelt on this one too ;)
RaspundeMike,
This is the best and most efficient backpack I have ever owned. It is extremely strong and well built. I will only buy 5.1.1 backpacks from now on.
RaspundeMighty H.,
This works great for travel and now I'm going to buy one for hunting. I don't have much use for it at work as I have other ready bags for that.
RaspundeCeolos,
It's really comfortable, but more pockets will make it much better. Anyway, I'm totaly satisfied by this 5.11 product.
RaspundeRob S.,
Great bag, incredibly sturdy. Made the jump from a North Face bag... so glad I did!
RaspundeGeargeek,
Got this bag a few months ago and Im very pleased with it. Im pretty rough on my gear and I have thrown everything at it and it still looks brand new. Great for the field or vacation. Its a good size for a days worth of equipment and if you pack light it will easily take all your stuff for a weekend get away.
RaspundeLt,
This is a great bag. Plenty of room, fits comfortably when loaded to the max.
Raspunde120mm,
This bag has served me well after almost a year of use. I have used it for school, range duty, and for everyday use. It can pretty much hold anything you need, plus has enough molle to customize it further!
RaspundeJ. S.,
Very nice pack very verstile great for carrying extra gear. Love this pack. Would recommend to all.
RaspundeEnzo,
Whether sitting in the back of a vehicle with extra clothes and assorted items for patrol or on a mission trip with 20 youth this pack has withstood all I (and several others) can throw at it. Worth every penny and I recommend it to anyone who needs a dedicated "go" bag. It'll carry everything and then some.Enzo
RaspundeIv113,
I first ordered the Rush 72, along with several "SlickStick" add-ons and was so impressed that I ordered a Rush 24 for my wife and she loves it. As a consumer I look at several items from different manufacturers before I make a purchase. I continually find myself back at 5.11 making an order. Over the years I have never been dissapointed with their clothing, equipment or service. I plan to continue using 5.11 for my business and personal needs. And now my wife does as well.
RaspundeGunstx,
I really love this bag. I use it to carry by day to day stuff for my .mil job. Many small pockets to help with organization. I really like the sunglasses pocket on the top. Only real downside I can see is the bag is just a little heavy when empty, but seems to be built very well.
RaspundeDunedain313,
I love this bag. I take it to and from work every day. It's also great for overnight trips. It can fit in the overhead compartment on small planes. This bag is extremely well built. Great zippers and a bunch of pockets. It's virtually identical to the Rush 72 bag, just smaller. I love them both, highly recommended.
RaspundeSpanky,
I always use this back pack in all my travels. no regrets i bought it
RaspundeBravo N.,
Great rugged pack. Holds more than 24 hours worth of gear. Pockets for everything from eye wear to electronics. Great product.
RaspundeBruw,
This is a great pack. I highly recommend it.Here is something to add to the pack that you may not have considered. The side of the pack has the MOLLE webbing where you can conveniently add a pouch for a water bottle or general purpose pouches like the Extra Large Drop Pouch and the Vertical 6" by 10" pouch. The latter pouch is on sale right now for dirt cheap under the closeout tab. I like adding these pouches to the side because it does not cause your pack to stick out any father but adds extra storage space. These are just some suggestions to consider. Even without the additional pouches this is a fantastic bag. On a side note, I considered buying the 72 hour pack, but this pack is plenty large and perfect for my needs. I am glad I stuck with the 24.
RaspundeJimbola,
Great bag, I was a little concerned when I made the purchase that I was not going to be able to fit all my stuff in there. I was wrong this bag can hold a lot of stuff. Right now I am using it as a hiking bag/camping 1-2 day works perfect I have just fitted it with a 6.6 med pack,(strictly for organization) and I love that it is hydration capable. Great bag wish I would found it years ago. Love the Flat Dark Earth color. 5.11 keep up the excellent work and the amazing, quality gear.
RaspundeAchmed F.,
2ND one i've bought. This one is MINE! 1st went to my 14 yr old HS Freshman. After 6 months he can't even destroy it.
RaspundeLatin H.,
Everything is great about this bag. Tons of pockets to put away whatever you need. Hidden pockets for your valuables. Rough and tough, and I love the soft frame padding. All my buddies want it. Take it to gym, fishing, hiking, camping name it.
RaspundeJambo,
The only complaint I have about this pack is that there are so many pockets its hard to figure out what to put in all of them. Seriously this is a very high quality pack. Better then I had in the Marines. Its not to old yet but I have put it through the paces pretty good and it still looks brand new. Well worth the price. Very functional. Ive used it on and of duty.
RaspundeDac321,
I've been holding off buying a pack until I found one 'just right.' I found it! LOTS of room for a day of work. I loaded mine up with water, towels, food, and electronics for a long, hot 12-hour shift at the RNC with room to spare.
RaspundeAchmed F.,
I bought this for my son who is a freshman in HS. When it arrived I had to ck it out and give my seal of approval. This is a really nice backpack! Very well thought out, nice quality, well made and tons of space. Comfortable too! Better than anything I ever carried for sure. Now I have to buy another one for me!Later, AF.
RaspundeVic,
Pack overall excellent quality, I dont think I could destroy this pack. The only issue and to me (my own opinion) is that the shoulder strap adjustment can in NO WAY be adjusted when your wearing the pack because there are covers over the clip points and the actual strap. You can move them around but it adds steps for adjusting purposes. I ordered the TAC OD, it looks nothing like the picture but it is a nice OD color, no complaints. Anyone who purchases this pack will enjoy it though, the lined fabric upper pockets are perfect for your Oakley's. This is a great pack and its alot bigger than you would think..
RaspundeTadao B.,
Probably the best backpack I have every had - it's well made, has tons of room, and has all kinds of cool features. Comfortable, too.
RaspundeMc R.,
I searched and shopped for some time trying to find a pack at a reasonable price which suited my needs. The Rush 24 is the finest lightweight pack on the market, hands down. This pack has more compartments than the website advertizes and is a very sturdy piece of equipment. After testing and evaluating the Rush 24 against the competition, there is no doubt, this is the best pack on the market for both on and off duty. And yes, a laptop computer will fit inside. I even flew with the pack to Cancun on vacation and used it as my carry-on.
RaspundeJake,
I think it is a great backpack and have used it daily. Worth the money for a backpack that will last.
RaspundeHe P.,
Versatility (aka MOLLE) covers almost every conceivable exterior surface of this pack. Interior organization is also excellent, with numerous zippered mesh pockets lining the interior of the main compartment. There is even a drawstring pack at the very bottom of the main compartment. Not sure what the designers had in mind for it, but for the time being it stores the dirty socks well away from my other gear. Hydration pouch is incredibly well thought-out, and interfaces perfectly with any Platypus / Camelbak pouch & hydration tube. There are specially cut holes leading from the hydration pouch, through the main compartment, and out through two velcro tabs on the exterior of the backpack, both located conveniently above each shoulder strap, which contains further sewn straps through which the tube can be threaded. I've yet to fully test the durability, but I've been truly impressed thus far by the build quality and overall fit. Keep it up guys.
RaspundeMarshall,
Amazing bag! Extremely high level of organization, quick access, tons of molle, camelback compatible, and extremely comfortable. With this bag you always know where exactly what you need is. Tons of hidden pockets. Good construction. Probably the best bag I've seen.
RaspundeGongtac,
Bag is great and well made. Tons of storage pockets. Holds a lot more than I initially though it would...Haven't been using too long but we'll see how she lasts, all my stuff goes through pretty good abuse.
RaspundeNew M.,
OK, so I am not in the military, nor in law enforcement. But many years ago, in my job as a documentary film producer and photojournalist, I was looking for the best apparel and equipment for my job - tough, comfortable, professionally designed. I came across 5.11 and never looked back. There are many camera bags available but they all look like camera bags, and are an instant target for thieves and anti-journalists. The RUSH 24 is a perfect blend of discreet functionality and flexible configurations, allowing me to add pouches and packing cubes (Eagle Creek), to store all my video camera and sound gear in a way that is just right for me. And the inclusion of a hydration system is something that I have been nagging camera bag manufacturers about for years, with no success. The RUSH 24 has a hydration pocket built-in.The perfect bag to remain discreet, and yet have all the gear I need available in a moment.
RaspundeEddie,
I can't remember the last time I have felt this good about anything that I have purchased. Quality products of any kind are difficult to come by these days, and because so, it was very refreshing to see all the thought and good workmanship that went into making the RUSH 24 Backpack. I use it everyday and enjoy it very much. Thank you
RaspundeWvdave,
This pack exceeded all my expectations. Lots of room and pockets for organization. The quality is outstanding and the price is reasonable. More bang for your buck. I will be a 5.11 customer for life.
RaspundeSilver B.,
Hands down, the best pack I have ever owned. I use it primarily for Industrial work. It holds all my personal tools and smaller equipment.
RaspundeMichael,
Really well made product. I am really impressed with how much stuff this thing can carry, even though it's the smaller of the two RUSH packs this thing is in no way a small backpack. The layout of the pack is great having compartments from big things to small. One thing that I would like to seen in the furture with this product would be a waist strap, even though its a smaller pack and doesn't absolutly need one it would be nice addition to the pack. So far this pack has been an amazing value for the money, excellent bang for one's buck...
RaspundeLongshot,
Great bag. I have many items from 5.11 (several pairs of pants, vest, coat, duty bags, knife, hat) and I have been very happy with all. All items so far have been real quality items. This was the first time I had ordered from them directly and and the order was correct and came when expected. I have already purchased the 5.11 water bottle holder to add to my Rush 24 pack. This pack is currenly being used at work and is going to replace my usual carry-on bag, for my upcomming Vegas vacation later this month. Keep up the good work 5.11!........ Deputy Jerry H.
RaspundeChief,
I just returned from a 10 day trip to Turkey. I flew in 9 planes in 10 days, hiked all over the country in both city and rural areas, and this bag was my best friend. I was able to use it as a carry on or just my daily support with all my needs to make me comfortable while sightseeing or meeting. It is my new favorite bag. I noticed that even on very hot days the pack wore well and didn't make me hot. Easily packed and easily accessed when needed. I also used the 40" mission duffle...very impressed. The Rush 24 is my new best travel partner! It never left my side. Get a Rush 24 for you next bag!
RaspundeCricket,
After 3 months one of the small internal pockets (the one shown with an mp3 player in it) has completely ripped out and emptied into the wall between the outside of the backpack and the inside. If my phone had been in there I would have had to cut the bag apart to get it out. I can understand outside seems wearing out from extended use but I've only had it for a few months and this is an internal pocket. I don't see a way that I can fix it even.another complaint is that it is impossible to carry on one shoulder. I realize that it is not designed too, but I can't even throw it over my should getting out of the car to close the door. Wouldn't be hard to add some non-slip texture to the shoulder pads to facilitate quickly slinging it over one shoulder. If you carry a laptop there is no good way to store it in this bag. There is no built in laptop sleeve. I knew this before buying so I bought a padded sleeve for the laptop. The computer still rattles around quite a bit and I have to be extra carefull not to throw my bag in a chair. This won't affect most users.I will probably buy a different bag to carry daily and this will become a bugout bag... but that being said I'm still concerned about the quality of it holding up after the pocket ripped out.Other than these issues I love the bag and would have given it 5 stars were it not for the experience so far.
RaspundePeacemak3r,
I use this bag for school and everyday use. Very sturdy and very well made. I can tell already that it'll last for a long time.I had wished that there were more straps included to make the bag as compact as possible. So I bought the RUSH Tier System just for that.
RaspundeTurbojet,
I'm kind of a fanatic for packs and this one is simply the best I've ever owned. The only inaccuracy in the product description is that this is a one day bag. I travel almost every weekend and I can fit all the gear I need for 2+ days with room to spare. If you travel lite, you could pack for a week. I have yet to fill up all the pockets in this pack. Absolutely top notch construction and a really superb design. Every deficiency I've ever encountered with another pack has been cured by this one. I paired it with a 10 X 6 horizontal Molle pouch attached to the lower front and a strobe/cell phone pouch attached to one of the shoulders straps. Awesome piece of gear.
RaspundeHm3 D.,
I'm a US NAVY Corpsman stationed with a US Marine Arty unit. I've converted this day pack into a Med Bag that has served me well for over 2 years now. This Pack is large enough to hold an entire platoons medical supplies as well as my personal gear such as chow and hygine. This bag is the perfect size, not too big like the issued bags and not to tiny like some other ones you might find. This bag is also super comfortable on your back during those long patrols on deployment. I totally recomend this Bag!
RaspundeHey N.,
I love this backpack. I got the Rush24 in black and use it for going to the gym, hiking in the Adirondacks, Airsoft, camping, etc. The pack is rugged and very comfortable. The yolk straps make the bag a joy to wear. The main reason I bought the bag was for the many compartments and water system. Both of these have lived up to my expectations. The costumer service is unbelievable too. Love the pack, recommend
RaspundeMatt M.,
I use it for travel for training and as a carry on bag it holds a ton of stuff for me and has the pockets to store it all. The extra straps on the entire bag make it very easy to add extra storage packs. I add a medic bag to it especially since I am an EMT and the added space for the mini trauma bag definitely helps with organization and making room in the bag for my other gear.
RaspundeTeneightzulu,
Ive gone through so many bags just for work/details, they always tore and not enough pockets for organization. its only been a couple mounths, and i love how i can organize my stuff. especially how some pockets are hidden. i now know were all my stuff goes than rather rummaging thru.
RaspundeJim J.,
Love this pack. This weekend climbed Mt. Harvard (14,421'). Had 25 + lbs and was very comfortable. Only drawback is I ended up carrying the things that would not fit in the other people's pack (lunch, dinner and extra water). I am very pleased with this pack.
RaspundeAvgus3r,
Pros: The bag has enabled me to consolidate everything I need for work into a single bag. 15in Macbook Pro (Hydration Pocket) Projector ( Main Compartment) Fluke Networks Optiview XG Analyzer ( Main Compartment) Misc, Power Supply's, Cables, ( Main Compartment) Ipad (outer Pocket) Umbrella ( Side Pocket) How it would fit me better:1. Shoulder Straps need a piece of the same material that was added to the lower back portion to keep it from sliding all over. 2. A single (Deep) Admin Pocket on the top would be great. Cons: A little on the heavy side (empty)
RaspundeSchmitty,
This pack is AWESOME! I bought this for going to school because I couldn't hold all of my books in my MOAB 10. This bag is light even when fully loaded. And I mena I packed it! I even had my MOAB 10 loaded up fully transporting electronics and attached it to this bag and it barely felt heavy. The weight distributes great across the shoulders so there would be no problem going for a long period of time with this bag. Nothing bad to say about it at all.Profession is StudentJust things I would fix:*main compartment pockets; I guess I've never had to fill those up but for my use seem like kind of a waste.*maybe it's just my bag but my rain flap keeps wanting to fold over on itself and stay open, not sure how to fix that.
RaspundeComputer G.,
Use it as an every day backpack, laptop (14", snug in hydro pocket). Fantastic # pockets, so much better for being organized. "it just fits" so much better to my back than last 2 packs, doesnt sway all the time.Only cons so far: there is no way to tuck in the left chest strap (the right fits under a molle but nor the left), and zippers a little hard to use (tight to pull, compression straps interfere
RaspundeIcerider,
I use mine for a bug out bag of sorts. I carry survival gear and items for my SCAR 16s. If I have to protect my home and property from the woods and fields near by, I can carry enough gear to deal with this situation until I can get back inside. It stands up to all the extra pouches on the exterior I have added. I have loaded magazines, first aid, knife, H2O, 6x6 pouch and more. It has more usable, attachment points than any other bag I own. A great piece of gear!
RaspundeSteaguejr,
I spent $160 on a backpack and it didn't last me that long on my first cruise. For my second cruise I got the RUSH 24. I wanted something that I can carry anything I wanted for a day or two. The biggest thing that I wanted is something that is strong enough to be held by the strap on the top that can take 100+ catshots (taking off of a carrier). When I bought the backpack at the [...] it was [$] and thought I would give it a try. After a 7 month deployment with the USS Carl Vinson, 350+ flight hours on a C-2A, with 100+ CATS and TRAPS, it is still holding up strong. Love the bag. I want a RUSH 72 for my next cruise!
RaspundeThe N.,
I've used this pack and its big brother the Rush 72 for all sorts of purposes from daily commute to the office to international travel and absolutely appreciate the versatility and durability of the packs. Disclaimer: I travel fairly light and have been able to travel for upwards of 1 week on what I can pack into this as a carry-on. I'm currently looking to return to school and will definitely use the 24 as the principle pack. One thing I've discovered about the pack is that a MacBook Pro fits very well inside the zippered hydration compartment for air travel / security check. The laptop can be taken out and replaced without having to fuss w/ the interior compartment. This may be a point of marketing - as a laptop compartment for everyday office / school work in addition to the hydration for the tactical operations. From a total accident, I also discovered a standard sized bottle of wine fits well into the side zipped compartment - in case I use this for a picnic one day I guess. I totally agree with the yoke design for comfort! I've hiked in the Andes using expedition packs with all the padding and trimming but without the yoke - the yoke wins.As far as cons, I did have to replace the plastic D ring that holds the sternum strap with metal links as the plastic broke. I just bought some anodized aluminum links at the local hardware store and problem solved. The second bit is the length of the adjustment straps on the shoulders. Wearing a winter coat, I've had to extend the shoulder straps all the way (where the ends are at the plastic buckle) in order to wear the pack and cinching it becomes a bit of a struggle. (48" chest if folks need a metric for comparison)The only reason I gave the product a 4-star rating is mostly from the 2 things I mentioned which are subjective to me. All in all, I highly recommend the pack and would definitely purchase a replacement, if a replacement is ever needed!
RaspundeAlaska R.,
I needed something a little more rugged, that had more capacity than your typical flight bag. Flying in Alaska I need a bag to carry an extra set of clothes an overnight kit and additional items for long flights, and for cases of us breaking down or being "weathered in". This bad works perfectly!! I carries everything that I need and then some!Terrific bag!!!
RaspundeKbooky,
I bought this for general purpose use. Primary function is to be for disaster preparedness. Also for hunting.
RaspundeRoger B.,
I looked at almost every type of camera backpack available on the market, and the problem is that very few, if any, are top loading packs. I prefer top loading because of speed of use, and better protection of equipment. I looked at many other "ops" style backpacks, but decided to go with the Rush 24 because of reviews. I love this bag! I shoot race photography, and the Rush 24 allows me to bring 2 cameras, 5 lenses, flash, uni-pod, tri-seat, water, snacks, etc... I lined the inside of the bag with 1/2" neoprene, and I have neoprene sleeves for camera gear. I dare say that I now own the most kick-butt camera gear backpack available! I plan to buy the Rush 12 for a smaller, 1 camera bag for everyday.
RaspundeIceman,
This is one of the best packs I own. I've purchased and been issued all sorts of packs and bags in my career in law enforcement and I've been the most happy with this pack. The main problems I've had with this pack (I've owned two of them) is that the zippers fray in the inside and the strings get caught in the zipper. I also have an issue with the shoulder strap coming undone where it's sewn into the pack. Without a waist strap, this pack can become too heavy. On the good side, the pack has plenty of room for all of the items I need in the field and then some. It has pockets everywhere, which helps me keep things organized, unlike other packs I've owned. I do recommend this pack.
RaspundeGordon,
It would be awesome if all of the Rush packs had an integral ouch on each strap, at clavicle height, one for GPS and one for cell/radio/snickers bars, whatever.Just a simple pocket that had elastic at the top and maybe velcro. Just a thought.
RaspundeWabbit H.,
The compartments in this pack are second to none for organization.Great quality, great design on the shoulder staps, doea not hang on my neck!!! Having a pain in the neck that I live with this is paramount for comfort. Thanks 5.11 crew for yet another outstanding product!
RaspundeTom,
Very heavy duty backpack with lots of space and compartments. It does not have a padded compartment for a laptop though. It also will not stay on your shoulder if you are using just one sling. It is great quality though and looks like it will hold up for years to come. I take it with me everyday, everywhere I go.
RaspundeSnareman95,
I am a civilian and bought this as a general travel backpack and it works great. It holds plenty of clothes, laptop, ipad and a ton of other small items in its many well organized easy to access pockets. A 15" Macbook Pro will actually fit in the water bladder pocket well. Check out my video.
RaspundeC,
great pack for the money. holds all my ammo, gear, and gun. easy pockets and built with quality material.
RaspundeMr11550,
I purchased this pack recently and I love it. I can use it at work to store all of the gear and resource materials I need for work. I can also use it on my weekend when I go out in the woods hiking. It is very durable and has storage spaces for almost anything that use at work or at play... I would recommend this pack to anyone.
RaspundeJeffro,
This Backpack is amazing. It is the best I have found. I work for a Power Utility Company and I use this to cart everyday needs to and from work. My lunch box fits in the main compartment and I use the zippered pouches inside the main compartment for other food items that do not need to be kept cold. The amount of zippered pockets is absoulutely the best feature. I have a place for everything. Thanks 5.11....Love it
RaspundeFf G.,
Overall a great bag. Purchased this due to cost/construction for a GRT Challenge. Bag worked flawlessly over 16+ miles with 46# of bricks + Gear. Wore it almost non-stop for 10 hours during the event including a few dips into Lake Michigan. I have only two complaints - 1. I wish the shoulder straps were independant @ the top - I found them to be slightly uncomfortable over time although that may have simply been due to the weight and what we were doing overall.2. No waist strap??? there are plastic rings @ the bottom that seem to allow you to add one but I can't find one here on the website to even purchase seperately. Anyone who knows anything about properly wearing a pack knows you carry the weight on your hips. However w/o the waist strap you're forced to carry the full load on your shoulders... results in quick fatigue IMO.The Sunglass' pocket @ the top is an awesome idea & there are plenty of pockets to organize daily gear if using this in more of an urban/day pack type setting.
RaspundeMatt,
I am an EMT and Firefighter both volunteer and paid. I use this bag everyday I work and some I am off. This pack can hold my electronics: Laptop, iPad, charging cables, external hard drive, mini flashlight, portable charger. Along with files and clothes with no issues what so ever. When I get called to last minute come in for a 24 or 36hr shift coverage this is the bag I turn to. It is able to take my priority gear and fit some extra for fresh clothes and extra gear depending on the nature of the call.
